I think always being mates would be easiest because I don't have an idea for why they wouldn't be, but if someone came up with something later, I would be up for changing. ^^

She always seemed to be smaller than others, especially she-cats, from a young age. She never let it bother her, although her size disables her from doing certain things. Blaze ♡ Saudade and I have decided that Spottedwing and Pinesong are mates, if you would like to update the Clan page! Not necessary, but I'd figure I should let you know  Also also!! Some plot hook ideas? If anyone is interested! Just trying to shoot out ideas -in regards to bad weather, fall brings about a lot of rain, there could be flooding. Not quite sure how high the camp is up off the ground, but floods are dangerous so that could be fun -group of rogues causing trouble, tryna set up in clan territory. They could be gathering in that old king ruins? -a bear causes trouble near camp? -explore neighboring territory? not any sort of exodus tho clearly, ya kno?
Also, how do ya feel about omens?

Milkwhisker is a very large tom, with soft and fluffy white fur and a strong build. A cream point ragdoll with golden eyes, Milkwhisker is a bit of a gentle giant. He is patient and diligent, preferring to observe quietly than rush into action. He never lets his temper get the best of him, but the one thing it is susceptible to is taunting and insults from the enemy. He cannot stand sitting by while the pride of his clan is insulted. Milkwhisker is a kind and warm person above all else, and his careful and regulated disposition earns him a reputation.

Dust is a dark brown blotched tabby with an unusually small build and long legs that give him a foxish appearance. He has narrow gray eyes and glossy fur, and despite his intimidating looks he is very easy-going. Almost too much, in fact; he shirks his duties as an apprentice in favor of lounging or playing, and he doesn't see the importance of teamwork. He's a coward in battle and will fight dirty or run and hide out of fear, and his attitude is always lax and sarcastic. However, although he has many, many flaws, he is a classic case of potential gone unchecked, as when he gets motivated he can spring to action, and underneath his dismissive exterior he deeply cares for his clanmates.

She often clashes with her brother due to his lackluster performance as an apprentice, as she believes her duties to the clan are the most important thing in the world. She's a bit rough and tumble anddislikes it greatly when her clanmates call her weak to the point where she will lash out.

Oh yeah, in regards to omens I was just thinkin there could be, ya kno, signs or something. Like, if a flood was coming maybe some cat finds some drowned prey in a stream? Trivial things like that that most people would probably not be too concerned about, except if your Floodfoot, who overthinks most things.

If none of you mind me jumping on the planning train
I love the start we got on omens. Love coming up with those.
However, I would love if the cats actually knew about the flood or natural disaster before it happened? I think it's more frustrating to say that anyone living in the area for generations wouldn't realize the signs of a wet/warm year and doing something about it. Say, if there was heavy rains, which could cause a rock slide in camp, why wouldn't they move to a more secure location like the king's ruins? If the medicine cat says the prey drowning is a sign of a flood and the elders say there has been heavy rain compared to later years, I don't think any cat would be thinking before moving to higher, more solid ground.
I'm not a big fan of the 'ignore the signs' trope, but conflicting signs may be an interesting take? With there being several deities, maybe each deity has a different idea on what to do and that splits the camp up as each cat may hold a different respect to each.

I like that idea alot; now we just need to settle on the "major issue" which the flood is a very promising c;
I agree with you, Zero. I feel like a clan would know those things, it's only logical that information would be passed down to them.
Also I had a brainfart because I got Echo's territory confused with another one of other clan's and yes, their camp can potentially flood since they are in the gorge. It would have to be like flash flooding; like 5ft of water or so but it is a gorge and water travels quickly.
Usually folks don't act quickly because they have the mentality "oh that won't happen to us" boom, it just did.
But relocating camp sounds like a lot of fun; I might have to readjust the season unless you think it's still plausible for a heavy rain shower in autumn. WAIT, climate change is a thing. We are good.
Can you elaborate a bit on that deities?
Do you mean that some cats perceive the signs different?
We will stick with the drowned prey as an example
- some cats think it's just Malarkia giving them a warning that leafbare might be approaching sooner than usual
- some think Eos is being mischevious
- some think Phanes is trying to do like the "noah's arc thing" and showing that life is fragile & will always start anew
- honestly don't know what Erebus's side would be.

Yeah, sadly, I understand the side of people who believe this would never happen. We have had a stream rising for years but nothing has happened. But I would appreciate a medium because these cat's whole lives revolve around their territory and said health of the territory.
We could also go with, cats are worried about flooding so they don't consider a mudslide.
Oooo that's a good idea too. I was thinking Erebus might tell the clans to fortify their calm while Eos is leading the clan to a different camp. I'm brain isn't working for coming up with the examples, but it would be two different signs sent by two different deities. But I do love the different interpretations of the signs and wondering who it is from. We can do a combo between these two ideas.

Yes hello I promptly fell asleep after posting that BUT YEAH Conflicting signs is a MUCH better idea that ignoring, I agree that it wouldn't make much sense.
Happy mediums are always good and I think signs from two different deities is great. Regarding relocating camp, a sign could be empty animal dens like foxholes or abandoned beehives? Fortifying I'd have to think harder about for a sign

I love the abandoned beehives and empty animal dens for a sign. Like the scent is still strong and if followed will lead them to the area Eos wants them to settle in for the disaster. If we want to get a little out of the box, a swarm of bees could leave a beehive and lead whoever found it to the place to settle. Eos seems like the type that would dance with bees and like their buzzing.
Fortifying could be the sudden appearance of rocks or a tree in camp after a night's rest. Or he could directly talk to cats.
Phanos could be focused on the clan gathering food and could be the one sending the drowned prey as a duel warning of the flood and to gather fresh kill.

Aw hell yea, I like the fortifying ideas! There’s a place where cats can go in the camp to talk directly to them, Iirc? Or is that to talk to the dead? Hm, either way! I can see Floodfoot attempting to communicate with them directly, JUST TO BE SAFE, after seeing and/or hearing of some signs that others might have found. poor paranoid boi
But yea, this is good this is good. The mudslide idea is also cool, i just wanna say. Could we have both flooding and a mudslide happen, for a little bit of that Best Of Both Worlds action? After all, where there’s rain there’s mud. Oh, hey, also mew ! if you’re looking for parents for Snail and Dust, I think Pinesong and @saudade ‘s Spottedwing might work! Their colors are similar and Dust could definitely get his disposition from Pinesong. And the two are certainly old enough. Of course, we’d also have to get sau’s opinion :3c |

Lightningmist is an Ash gray color with dark green eyes with little flecks of blue in them. His large paws are a lighter grey than the rest of his body, and his whiskers are long. Lightningmist is a light hearted tom who can come off as too stern sometimes, especially towards kits and apprentices. Hes not much one for play, which is one of his biggest flaws. He is very sweet and respectful.

Thorn is a dark orange and black apprentice. Her fur is slightly marbled, the black over-taking the orange in her fur making it look somewhat like a dull fire. She is a small ball of energy, running being her favorite activity. She is very fast, but very clumsy. She has dark hazel eyes, making them almost brown. She has a little giggle that is highly contagious and can put a smile on anyones face.

Yup, it is good that we have a semi-structure of what is going to happen and the results.
We don't have to make this plot go super fast.
I figured the deities will probably send more than one omen.
but some cats will dismiss the omen as nothing.
tentative timeline for flood plot /
omen
discussion
probably another omen or two
rain starts "One day it started raining, and it didn't quit for four months"
clan is wary but it will be okay
lolol what, it's not okay
discussion and patrols are sent to find a suitable temporary camp
moves the camp
some cats panic / other cats are "back in my day"
probably stays at the ruins for like a quarter moon
then they have to clean up camp
possibilities -
maybe Paledaisy dies in a flood
or if I claim one of the kits, they could perish in the flood.
