"A-alright!" said Sam. He was eager to try. Though there was also the fact that this was Nico. It would be much more fun to do these kinds of things with him than ... well ... "Lead the way," he said to the other boy, unable to suppress a smile.
(Working on that whole 'reply how much muse lets me reply rather than forcing it' thing. @.@ Do let me know if you want me to add more to work off of.)

Sam’s eyes widened, but then he focused on Nico and just let himself be carried along by his growing excitement. This was good! He liked it!
(Psst. I remembered that we talked about potentially skipping about here? That work for you? Maybe play around with a different room?)

After a very long time, or at least enough for Nico to make this observation, Sam blinked in. He looked a bit … odd too, come to think of it. Very much like Nico. And honestly, all in all, he had no idea about anything around him. There just wasn’t a frame of reference for what this setting was. “Where are we?” he asked. “What is all of this?” He waved a hand around, very confused at what was happening. “What’s up with your head?

Sam had no idea what all of this was about. But he did think the fire was kinda interesting. “It looks like it’s supposed to be Greek?” he hazarded. He wasn’t sure though. Nico was the expert for that. “Should we do something? Or anything? What does all this do?” He waved at the surroundings. The last question was a lot more general than the first two. It was directed at the House in general compared to what could potentially be a very strange existence.

Yeah, that put it into a bit of a better perspective for Sam he supposed. He could at least get the general gist of what Nico was trying to say. Even still, he wasn't sure what the point was other than being a slightly odd location to place them both in. "Alright," he said, indicating the pathway. "Let's go then. But also ... if I was to guess ... both." He looked a bit unsatisfied with the whole thing - oh not the room, but what he perceived the House's motives to be. "Confusion and entertainment. Exploring is good though. Maybe we'll find something interesting." And he started walking, though that was a struggle of a different kind. "... How do you walk in these anyway?"

“You’re not wrong,” Nico replied, a hint of a smile touching his lips. “I mean… that seems like something the House would do. But at least the room doesn’t seem to be actively malicious.” Saying that out loud, he knew, was practically an invitation to the House to make it dangerous. But for now, he trusted that they would be able to explore with minimal incident. “Right,” Nico replied, glancing down at his feet. “I don’t know. Normally?” He knew that wasn’t a helpful answer, but he didn’t have any to offer. “With much more difficulty,” he added, the tiny, shy smile returning for a fraction of a second. “It looks like there’s light over here,” he added, pointing down one of the paths the House had left open to them. He had no idea whether light was good or bad, but he figured it might be smart to at least try to go down he path the House seemed to be suggesting. Although there was something to exploring everywhere else first… “We should save that one for last,” he said after a moment, having to resist the urge to reach for Sam’s hand. It struck him that the urge was strange for him, but he wasn’t going to give voice to it now. “Will you guide me through the other ones if it gets too dark to see?”

It wasn't like both paths looked the same to Sam. They didn't. The one with the light still distinctly looked like it was brighter than the others. But the ones that Nico hadn't indicated were still easily something he could navigate. "We can try those," he said. And then he did take Nico's hand, heading for the path that were darker. It was probably better to pick a House selected path, but at the same time, Sam felt comfortable with the idea of the darkness. So he gently led Nico toward the entrance, looking at him encouragingly as he went. Then they were in the entrance to the path and slowly following along with it. Sam's eyes adjusted at once and he looked ahead with confidence. He said to Nico, "It's alright. It isn't that bad here. Should I watch for anything?" He started checking the ceiling and floor for traps, even as he said it.
