Nah nah, that'll work. A connection is p much necessary for the police force to take Percival at least a bit seriously lol)
Leon didn't trust this vampire. He'd never met a vampire that hadn't killed someone and was going to do it again. Not to mention the fact his long time partner had just been killed by one right in front of his eyes. Taking a breath to steady himself and force those images in to the back of his mind he said "Fine, but stay there and don't try anything. Now that the Priestess is gone everyone has their weapons trained on you." it wasn't so much a threat, and more of a reminder that since the Priestess had gotten away it was Percival their eyes were glued on. Percival had been their initial target anyways.
Slipping on a pair of gloves so as to not meddle with the evidence Leon pulled out the pictures and the badge. After a moment of looking at them he said "I'd like to submit these to our forensics team. You'll get them all back after a few tests are done and we have a copy of the photos and a pictures of this badge." the picture was the most telling, but the badge had caught his interest. It was similar to their own, but he couldn't quite place what division it could belong to.
Waiting for the vampire to reply he carefully looked over the other photos, his mind already running to make connections. If the Priestess knew Percival, then there was a high chance that she had been the one to murder all these people. However, there was no definitive proof. Even if she had killed his partner.

(It's been good! Mostly alright, but really busy! Work has been a bit crazy. ^^ )
There wasn't any reason for Percival to try anything. He seemed defeated in that respect. The police weren't going to let him escape and he had failed in taking any sort of revenge. His chance of escape was null. There was no way he was getting out of this. He glanced at the dead body of Leon's partner. He tried not to wince. He had to look away again, letting Leon take whatever he needed. 'Evidence'. As if. "Fine," he said bluntly. He wasn't sure if he would get any of it back. That hurt him and it was difficult to watch the items be removed from his possession. It was his badge. It didn't match the one in the picture. The numbers on each of them were different. That was because the badge in the picture was owned by the other man in the photo. As for what the badge was for, it was similar to what Leon had. Though whether Leon had the resources to understand what it meant, Percival didn't know. Only a couple vampires knew what it was and Percival was fairly sure Leon hadn't met any vampires. Or gotten to know them anyway. Sure, all the guns were trailed on him, but Leon could have been dead before any of the bullets hit. The badge was specifically that of a task force of vampires. More privet detectives than actual police, but they were still close enough that maybe Leon would be able to locate who Percival had been. Before his own people lost contact with him - assumed he'd gone rogue maybe. Somewhere out there would probably be the records that Percival was an important enough member in it though. And old. Maybe that would at least give some source to his information. Though that didn't meant there hadn't been a bad cop in the histories somewhere ... "I'll come quietly," said Percival, his smile grim as he quoted ever police show in existence. There wasn't much else he could do. Unless he found a way to get out of this mess. Then he would. But somehow he didn't think he'd make it.

So, that was a lie. But today is the day haha) Would you be interested in rping the Chief of Police??)
There was a moment of silence before Leon held up his hand and called out "Ok. Everyone clean up." the sound of guns being lowered surrounded them and cops started to come forwards. There were a few that collected his partners body, Leon couldn't watch as he was taken away, and others started to test the area around them. He made sure things were being taken care of before he turned to the vampire, eyeing the other suspiciously.
"I won't cuff you. Not that it would probably work either way. Get in the car and i'll take you back to head quarters." the detective returned his gun to his side and gestured to the shot gun door.

(I'd be fine with doing that!)
For some reason, Percival couldn't look at the body of Leon's partner either. Instead he looked anywhere but at the body. This included looking at the house that he had stayed in for a week. It wasn't home. He hadn't seen home for a very long. He might never see it again. He might not be alive for much longer either. He was expertly framed up to this point. He wouldn't be surprised that even if they did believe him that he wouldn't just disappear. You didn't have to worry about him then. He wouldn't "get in the way". The thought caused bile to rise in his throat and he nearly choked on the bitter taste. But then it turned into a humorless laugh at Leon's order of his seat. "Not in the cage in the back then?" he asked, nodding at the regular police cars which had the mesh between the main seat and the back. Not like that would be any more use than a pair of hand cuffs. But he shrugged and stepped toward the shot gun door, opening it and sitting down. It was only when he'd closed the door that he allowed himself to stiffen against the seat. He would have placed bets that either the Priestess or the ex-partner of the police officer had been sitting here before. That allowed a very strange mix of anger and guilt to flicker in his chest, but he pushed both away. He just sighed and waited for Leon to get in. It was then that he wondered if he'd ever actually given a name for himself. If he had, Percival had already forgotten it after all that had happened. If Leon had seen Percival's name, it would have been on a police file.

The detective rolled his eyes "As you can plainly see my car doesn't have that. I'm a detective, not a cop." his car wasn't meant to hold people, only to get him from place to place. He reached for his door handle and had to take a moment to gather himself after seeing the slight quiver in his hand. Now wasn't the time to break down, he told himself. Throwing open the door he sat down in the front seat and started up the car.
At first he didn't say anything, but the silence was getting to him. His partner had never been quiet and his absence was more obvious now than ever. Clearing his throat he said "My name is Leon Wells. Like I said, I am a detective with the police district in this city. Don't think I'm just some average cop."
While he wasn't as fast as a vampire, Leon wasn't going to be easy to get away from. Not that he thought the vampire was going to run, there was something about him that told Leon this. Now, he wasn't exactly the type to trust his gut on this kind of thing - the system was always right after all - but Percival seemed just as keen on getting his hands on the Priestess and the police were. And now that she had killed someone close to Leon, he wasn't going to let her get away.

Percival didn't have much reaction to the difference between cop and detective. He'd already known that Leon wasn't a regular police officer. He just hadn't expected that much trust to be afforded to him. He supposed he shouldn't have been surprised though. He just wasn't used to actually having the cops (or the detectives) listen to him. He looked down at his hands and then said, "Percival." Then he looked up at the dashboard again. "But you knew that already." His voice wasn't supposed to be bitter, but it almost was. He had to take in a breath that he didn't actually need to calm himself. It wasn't specifically Leon's fault that he was a wanted man. He didn't offer a last name, however. He didn't know if the police had that and he would rather they didn't for the time being. He figured they would soon enough anyway. He doubted they'd let anything else slide. "Never said you were just some average cop," he said dryly. "I'm just not that inclined to expect much." He tapped at the dashboard. He wanted to reach for his lighter. Not because he smoked, but he felt more comfortable with it being in his hands. Everything had been taken off of him though. He wasn't liking the idea of facing the possibility of not having the safe pattern of places to go. He would loose the trail of the Priestess if she was sticking to her patterns. His patterns, rather. But she would probably vary now. He felt that hopelessness weigh on him. "How long until we get there?" he asked instead. He knew it was probably best to keep the detective talking. They both had things they shouldn't be focusing on. "Which state are you from anyway? Here?"
(Not sure if we wanted to timeskip or not?"

Finally midterms are over! I can set it up real fast ^^ )
Leon knew it wasn't exactly by the book to tell the vampire where he was from, but it was something you could easily figure out if you looked him up "I'm from here." he confirmed "And we're almost there." true to his words they turned left at the next light and to their right was a large building with a sign informing them that this was their head quarters. It wasn't exactly flashy, but you could tell it was a police building. Cars were lined out in front of it and there were some other officers and detective milling around. Some just getting back while others were heading out. Since most were still back at the crime scene there were fewer than you'd expect.
"I'll introduce you to my boss, and give your items to our forensics team. You can have them back after that." Leon informed the vampire as they pulled into an open parking spot. Leon stuck a piece of paper on his dashboard so everyone knew his car belonged there. His car had almost been towed more than once by newer officers that didn't recognize his car.
The detective pushed his car door open and waited for the vampire to follow. He locked the car behind them and led the vampire into the building. They got a couple of glances as they walked past, a few even stared at Percival. It wasn't everyday you saw someone brought in without hand cuffs.

(October is hectic and crazy ...)
The handcuffs weren't the only thing. The way Percival dressed was a bit unconventional. He still had the hat on, perhaps protection from the sun of perhaps it was closer to just fondness for the item. But that might have been the telling characteristic. It was the way he walked. It held no shame. It didn't even hold defiance. In fact, he was walking the same way as Leon - step for step. It was like the building held no fear for him and maybe was almost ... comforting. And Percival knew every second of it. He wanted them to know and question it. He wanted to have something to hold onto. That might as well be his past as much as anything else. He didn't say a word and instead followed Leon to wherever this boss of his was. They dropped his stuff off, which seemed like it didn't effect Percival. But that wasn't his real feelings. Loosing it all, even for a couple hours, felt like breaking bones. But he pushed the feeling away in favor of stepping after Leon again. He was wondering, distantly, when he was going to start processing his feeling. He had no doubt that Leon was feeling a lot of things, but he was setting them aside. Percival knew the feeling. He'd done it before. He wasn't paying that much attention to what part of the building Leon was leading him. It could have been to a cell and Percival wouldn't have had much choice in the matter. He could have probably run ... but what good would it do. Right now, the police really were his best bet. "Detective Leon," said a voice from an open door. Percival's head snapped up, glancing in the direction of the voice. He hadn't recognized it, but he did at once assume that the voice was their destination. He wasn't disappointed. Entering the room, he was faced with a desk. Percival at once stood straighter. The change in posture was what revealed the fact that previously he had almost been ... stalking. His footsteps had been light, his shoulders slightly hunched, and his head tilted in a way which made it very easy to think he was watching everything at once. Now he was facing a bit more authority. "And you're Percival," said the woman standing behind the desk and the clearly placed name on her desk. Percival's lips twitched, almost with a smile. It slipped, however, when the chief returned the expression with one which was equally unimpressed and maybe even slightly disappointed in the attempt. "Yes," murmured Percival instead, confirming what was fairly obvious. Her name was Chief Germaine. Chief Daia Germaine. She had a picture on her desk, but Percival couldn't see it from this side. She was looking at Leon with an expression that seemed much kinder than the one she'd shot him and he felt mildly annoyed with that. Then chided himself. Leon had been the one to look his partner. Yes, well ... he can get in line, muttered a more unfair voice in the very back of his mind. "Detective, what's your report?" Percival's head tilted. It was just a small thing. But Germaine seemed to pick up on it almost at once. Her gaze slipped back to him at once, her blue sight causing Percival's soul to send distress signals that she was attempting to strip it bare. "Did you have a comment?" she asked, her voice loaded. Percival didn't back down from it, though his little notations on all the detectives and officers he'd meet was started to grow a very large section in her name. "That's a rhetorical question," he said. The words were blunt. "You just ask it so you can lead to something else. You already know what happened." It was what he would have done. Germaine still seemed unimpressed. "Glad to hear your opinion, vampire." Then she looked back at Leon. But Percival was slightly pleased. He'd gotten her attention. She would doubtlessly attempt to learn about him. Something he'd do ... if their roles were reversed. He would be damned if he was going to be out of this case as a suspect - or worse - a witness under protection. No. No, he was going to play as many cards as he thought he could afford. Being valuable was the only way to do that.

Ahhh it really was!)
Leon held their chief in high regards and it was obvious. He greeted her politely and waited until she was done talking to Percival to give her his report. As per protocol he quickly filled her in on a few house keeping details. Things like how the raid had gone while setting up, and any problems they may have had during that. Thankfully there seemed to be few issues and he was able to swiftly move onto what she truly wanted to hear.
The story seemed somewhat simple as it led up to Percival leaving the house. He recounted what the vampire had said, and how the Priestess had reacted. It was... hard, to tell the part where his partner had been killed so he glazed over it. His voice had only wavered for a split second, hardly long enough to notice.
The detective finished his report by concluding that the Priestess had likely left town by now. He said "This vampire seems to know more about her than he is letting on, so I thought it wise to bring him back here and see what he knows. We have taken his items in for testing. Forensics will be getting that to you as soon as they can." Leon finished. He kept his hands by his side and stood straight, not allowing himself to be affected by what had happened in such a short amount of time. There was work to be done, and Percival was going to help them with it.

(How are you doing?)
There was a long moment where Germaine just listened to Leon's report. During that time, Percival stood stiffly. He didn't shift around and seemed perfectly at ease with the posture and action. Germaine, however, still seemed to be willing to let him wait his turn. At least Percival was aware of the fact that this wasn't unusual. She seemed capable enough of taking things in turn and he was eventually given his. Germaine nodded in response to Leon's report, then looked at Percival. Percival was aware that she had been moving the mouse for her computer around a bit, though if she was looking something up than Percival was impressed with her ability to read without actually looking away from Leon. "Your claim is you aren't the perpetrator of any of these murders?" Germaine asked. Then, after a pause that Percival knew well, she added, "Or just this murder?" Percival didn't react apart from rising his left eyebrow. After a pause of his own, he said, "I claim none of the murders." He paused again, expecting Germaine to ask a follow-up question, but she didn't. She just waited for him to fill in the gaps. Percival glanced sideways at Leon, then shrugged one shoulder in a rather uncharacteristic show of humanity. "Friend of the family. She was, that is. Look it up, if you like. I'm sure there's a Marcus somewhere in your system of murders." His lips thinned into a pained pale line without much choice in the matter. "She found it very pertinent to use me as a handy scapegoat. Not like I have much proof on the matter." He shrugged a shoulder again, almost like there was an itch there that he couldn't reach. "Police assume that it was just one in a string of murders, but what can I do? Go to the police? I'm not an idiot." He wasn't one. There was a conviction in his voice that said he knew exactly what would have happened. "They would just have assumed I killed my own husband and then got a taste for it. Seems like a likely assumption ... and I haven't been a cop in four years." His eyes were narrowed slits now and for the most part he was still looking at Leon. There was anger in the vampire's face ... but also pain. And he knew that Leon was feeling pain as well, even if it wasn't the same.

Good! I have like a ten page draft for an essay due on like Tuesday, but I'm sure I'll get started on it eventually haha. How about you?)
Leon tried to hide the surprise on his face. The vampire had been a cop before... and he knew the Priestess and potential murderer personally. Leon refused to show any pain on his face, keeping his expressions steeled as he thought. It seemed his initial thought that Percival knew more was correct. Leon held the vampires gaze for a split moment before turning to Germaine "If you wouldn't mind me speaking out of turn, I think we can use his knowledge to capture the Priestess." he paused before adding "If Percival is telling the truth it is also our duty to bring her in for his sake as well."
As a detective, it was his job to bring in people like this. The Priestess had killed so many, and hurt even more. Percival had been a victim of her blood lust and even if he was a vampire, he deserved closure just as much as they did. Perhaps even more so since he seemed to know her so well.

There wasn't anything about Germaine's expression when gave away what she thought of Leon's suggestion, but Percival knew the ropes of this. He knew how this worked. He just had to wait for Germaine to finish what he knew she would. "I agree," she said. "It is something that needs to be pursued." She leaned forward just a little. "Perhaps he can help you, Leon." Her voice was gentle - understanding that he had lost someone hardly a couple hours ago. "For now, I think checking how forensics are dealing with the information you coupled them with would be a wise choice." Percival tilted his head enough that his chin was slightly raised. It was what he had wanted. But he commented again, "No. Send him home. There are other things he need to process first." Percival didn't even look at Leon as he said that. "Wherever you wish me to stay ...?" he checked. He didn't really like that option. He didn't like that he would either have no choice where he went or he would be detained in all the red tape and make a place to stay completely useless. Germaine tilted her head to match his. Then she said, "Some place can be arranged." Ah, thought Percival. That can be translated as a place that isn't in the police station but is in very clear view of someone so I don't turn out to be, say, a mass murderer.

Leon was surprised and quickly took a step forwards "With all due respect, I think we need to continue with our investigation. Forensics should have something on our perp by now." granted, it wouldn't be much but Leon couldn't stop now. If he stopped now everything could catch up to him and it was too early in the day for something like that.
He didn't even pick up the fact Germaine had told Percival she would find a place to stay. Originally he just assumed the vampire would be staying at the station or something. Where else could he possible go? (Hmmm I wonder lol)
"I realize it will take the forensics team longer to put together something more concrete, but if they have any leads we owe it to... we owe it to everyone to continue looking." Leon added hastily before either one of them could tell him off. While gathering forensic evidence was a slow process - and nothing like you saw in movies - they had so much of it with what Percival had provided them they must have something.

(I think I'll just scream at school and be done with it.)
"That may be," said Germaine, who clearly was listening to one idea but was thinking about something completely different. "But you also owe it to everyone to be at your best game. You aren't." Her words were blunt, but true. She indicated the air in general, but the door specifically. "You're very capable of helping, Detective Leon. As I am sure Percival is." She didn't even look at him. Percival didn't really mind. "But the statement still stands. You need to be at your best for this and following half-made leads with inadequate detectives and then there will be, if we're lucky, half-found evidence. Go home, Leon." The words sounded like an order, but was very clearly a set of suggestions by a fellow human who cared about the well-being of another. That situation might change if she was pressed, but for the time being it was what Germaine said. "Take Percival along with you. Someone needs to keep an eye on him and I have no doubt you'd be the best one to do it." That, thought Percival. Was inserted into the conversation in a location which both makes it sound like a dismissal and a very clear avoidance of direct questions because she means it to be her last statement. Smart. And also very inconvenient. He looked at Leon and said, "Really don't want to argue with her. What about you?" He knew Leon did. He knew that expression. But what could they actually do? He highly doubted either person in this room fully trusted him and who would blame them? But he couldn't change that right now either.

That really is the biggest mood. I signed up for my next round of classes and it's so expensive RIP)
Leon didn't move or say anything, but you could tell it was hard for him to follow this order. For someone who always followed orders and staunchly stuck to the rules, this was difficult. A split second later and the tension left his body "Fine." he sighed. The detective nodded to his boss then glanced at Percival "I guess we will head out then." then to Germaine "Please keep me informed if anything comes up." anything discovered would immediately be brought to her after all.
He turned to leave the room, only glancing back to make sure Percival was following. The rest of the group was just getting back. Many of them looking tired and rugged. Leon greeted a few as they walked, stopping once to have a quick conversation with one of the higher ranking officers. They compared notes, and Leon was informed of what happened after he had left.
Once that was over Leon started towards his car "You don't have to answer. But why are you working with us so willing?" he asked Percival. They were out of ear shot of the rest of the precinct, and just getting into his car.
Common sense said that Percival wanted revenge just as much as they did, but if he wanted to work with them why not come forwards sooner? Why work by yourself for so long? Leon, to no one surprise, had a lot of questions. Though he only had enough energy to ask a few for now.

(Yep! Same here! All English classes this time.)
Without saying a word, Percival followed Leon. It wasn't like complaining would really get him anywhere. As it was, he didn't want to stay here. At least Leon had been mildly civil to him. As before, he got into the same seat. The seat of a deadman. And, in a sense, a different deadman was sitting in it. "A lot of different reasons," he said, sounding tired. "Because I've had no luck by myself. You cornered me. I had to come with you β¦ and she knew it. I won't be able to find her the same way again." He picked at the sleeve of his shirt as Leon drove. A small part of the sleeve had a singe on the edge of it. "So working with you was logical simply for that. But there are other reasons β¦ roughly summarized by saying this is easier. I did say I used to be an officer." That was all he said for the remainder of the journey. It seemed about all he was willing to say after all that had happened. He didn't even ask Leon any questions in return. It was quite in the car and the vampire wasn't doing much more than looking out of the window. Scenes passed outside the glass of the vehicle and Percival watched them with a apprehension of someone who was not ready to arrive anywhere. He would have liked to drive on forever. Finally, he asked, "What is it that showed you could trust me? Or are you still watching me to see if I'll eat you?" Embarrassing enough, this was when his stomach growled. Percival bit his lip, holding in a scowl. He hadn't wanted to reveal he was hungry. Particularly to Leon. It didn't feel right, not after what Leon had just seen happen to his partner. "We almost there?" he asked instead.

Ur so brave, as easy as they are English classes take a lot of time!)
Leon listened to the vampire talk, his eyes glued to the road as he drove. It wasn't until he was asked a question in return that he spoke "I don't trust you. Well, I trust you more than I trust that Priestess." he paused for a moment before continuing "You looked like you've been through it yourself. What the saying? The enemy of my enemy is my friend." he mused. It was hard to read his tone, and since he was turned forwards his expression was more or less obscured.
"We're almost there." he said. They soon pulled into the parking lot of an old looking apartment building. It was old, but clean and in decent condition. It didn't look like a drug house at the very least. His apartment was on the second floor near the set of stairs leading up to it. Inside was a small apartment. It was clean, almost as if it was not lived in.
"There's some food in the fridge. Nothing fancy." Leon grumbled, tossing his keys onto the coffee table "I guess you can stay on the couch." if he was going to be forced to watch the vampire he might as well be civil about it "And I realize you probably won't, but i'm required to remind you. If you try and leave I'm authorized to take you down."

(Oh yes they are. Wasn't sure if you wanted to time skip at all, but our friend Percy is gonna do something unusual later tonight if you wanted Leon to catch him. Though he'll probably do said unusual things ever night if you didn't want it to be now. ) Percival snorted, but that was his only comment about the saying. Instead, he looked outside the window, watching things pass outside the glass with the attention span of a snail. The whole idea was that he was better than the enemy. He could live with that. He doubted that Leon would ever trust him though. There was too much in the way. And there was an unlikely amount of time left for him to think about such things. Sooner or later, he would have too many red flags around him to function normally. When they got to the apartment that Leon clearly lived in, Percival looked over the room without much reaction in his eyes. Then he glanced sharply at Leon as he mentioned the fridge. The vampire had to chuckle. "Thank you," he said. And he meant it, but it didn't stop the amusement from flickering in his voice and eyes. He glanced away, then added, "But I believe it wont actually ... how to put it ... "do the job.'" He walked over to stand by the couch, almost looking awkward. It wasn't like it was the worst sleeping arrangement of his time, but it was a bit unfriendly in location. He sank onto one cushion and then looked up at Leon with his eyebrows raised. "Hypothetical," he said, voice not so much hesitant as it was doubtful. "How would you "take me down"? I seem to remember you needing a whole police force when you came knocking on my door. With special bullets." He waved a hand at Leon. "I'm sure you're a capable detective, but you are human and those tend to squish on impact with hard objects." He leaned back into the couch, closing his eyes. "I have no intention of going anywhere, so I believe that would be your strongest strategy." Then one eye cracked open. "Though there is one way to quickly kill a vampire," he said. Then a slow flicker of a smile touched his lips. "Country music does it every time. Weak as a kitten. Couldn't lift a hand." The eye closed, the line delivered less as a joke and more as tired sarcasm. "But thanks for the remainder," he tossed in. If you had told him before all this had happened that he would be on the receiving end of those very official words of warning β¦ well, he wouldn't have been surprised, but he would have thought they'd be for different reasons. "If anything β¦ happens," he added, mostly referring to a call about the case. "I'll be in here." There was enough insistence in his voice that it was clear he wanted Leon to interrupt him no matter what.

finals kicked my ass, but now that those are over i'm back!)
Leon snorted at the vampires antics and wandered into the kitchen. He pawed around in his mostly empty cupboards for a minute before snatching a granola bar and heading towards his room. The detective had his phone in hand and was obviously waiting for something to happen. For someone to call. Unfortunately it seemed that no one was going to tonight. At least not until later. Leon sighed and walked into his room to plug his phone in.
After plugging his phone in and glancing back into the main room of his apartment to be sure the vampire was still there he stepped into the bathroom to wash down and toss his dirty clothes into a hamper. There was still dried blood on his shoes and a few specks on his clothes. He'd been close enough when she tossed his partners body aside to get drops on himself.
Forcing down the destructive feeling with a swallow, Leon took a breath to steady himself and walked out of the bathroom and towards his room. His phone hadn't made a noise, signifying that there was still no news.

(Whoo! Whoo! I hope you are doing okay. ) Percival had turned so his nose was practically embedded in the covers of the cushions. To anyone watching, it seemed like he was pretending to sleep. He was too still, too quiet, and too solitary to truly be dreaming. But he was. He was asleep very quickly. And very quickly, at least that was how it felt, he was up again. It was a hazy walk, an almost thoughtless tract to where he needed to be. Then he stood in front of the hulking machine, turned a couple knobs (accompanied by a 'click click' of gas) before his eyes focused. The stove was on, the burning going at a low, blue flame. The slight smell of gas, more for his nose than any human's sense of smell, reached him. He blinked, very briefly, then quietly sighed, staring at the flames as if they were going to give him all the answers. "I'm sorry," he whispered, voice so low it could almost be heard under the hissing of the gas. He took his hand away from the knob, placing it on the flat of the metal stove. He never looked away from the flames around one of the burners. "I know I shouldn't have let this happen," he said, once again like he was talking to the flame. His back hunched, shoulders reaching higher as well as his back. It was dark outside, pre-dawn and lazy. If Percival was listening, he would assume the world was asleep. After all ... he looked vulnerable. "I can't help thinking it's all my fault," he added, biting at his lip. "Like if I just had some sort of guidance again, everything would be alright. But you're not here and I don't know what to do ..." The bite at his lip was almost enough to draw blood at this point.

Sorry for the short reply! Next will be longer.)
The silence that had fallen over the city during night was suddenly broken. Leon was stood in the kitchen with phone in hand a surprised look on his face. He had, obviously, been slightly surprised. After staring at his phone for an hour he'd fallen asleep. But it wasn't long before he was back awake and moving. There was too much going on, he couldn't just sleep. So he'd gotten up with the intention to make some coffee - as one would at nearly three in the morning - as well as get his hands on some food. What he hadn't been expecting was movement from the vampire so early and already awake and moving.
"What the hell are you doing?" he asked, voice raspy and unpracticed after just waking up.

It must have been some miracle that Percival didn't jump out of his skin. Sneaking up on a vampire was impressive alone, but for that vampire to show little to no reaction was also something as well. Instead, Percival's eyes remained fixed on the stove light right up until his hand came up and turned it off. Then he blinked several times, as if clearing an afterimage from his brain, and glanced at Leon. "Heating a stove. Last I checked that was how basic technology worked, is it not?" His words were brisk and almost contained a bristle of defiance, but his expression remained neutral and revealed nothing. Instead, Percival stepped forward just a little, almost too close to Leon ... and reached past him, grabbing a kettle and setting it on the stove. "Tea?" he asked instead. It was an offer. Also a change of subject. As it was, he was offering Leon his own beverages and poking around the kitchen as if he owned the place. It was the sort of action that caused most humans to forget what had just happened and start getting annoyed at Percival instead. Anyway ... the stove was still off so the offer of tea was hanging a bit in the balance.
