The ones that are meant to love and lead us, can sometimes be the ones who harm us the most.
Unconventional but tight knit and fiercely loyal, VergeClan have lived their lives revering the stars, every day under dictation by the aurora borealis that lights our skies at night. We have lived this was for far longer than anyone can remember, it is all any of us have ever known.
Yet a newcomer to the position of leader, offering new ideas that will divide the clan like a canyon. Whether or not their intentions are kind is yet to be discovered, but the effect will last for generations.
And with lives on the line, our home in ruins and the fate of our clan left to the mercy of the stars, VergeClan will have to learn to forge their own paths.
But will the help found along the way save us, or raze us?
Forum Rules. Please follow the rules enforced by the forums at all times whilst on this thread.
Activity. Though I won't expect constant activity, I do ask that you maintain a fair level of activity as to keep our plot going. Be reasonably active if you intend to join as a key character to our clan, ideally 4 days a week, but otherwise I wont impose a minimum activity level for joining. Literacy. VergeClan is to be a literate clan, thus the minimum I expect joiners to be able to produce is 6 lines worth of writing per character, with reasonable grammar, spelling etc. Occasionally being beneath this is ok, but remember this is the bare minimum, and more is always welcome. Joining. On initial joining I ask that you do so with a minimum of two characters, one of each gender. Furthermore, for every one apprentice you join as, please have two cats of other ranks to maintain a reasonable level. Lastly, so I know you have read my rules, include A Night without Stars in your forms. Realism.Mary-Sue's and Gary-Stu's aren't acceptable, everyone has flaws and please give your characters some. LGBT+ Characters are more than welcome, however, please don't join as cats who are from outside the clan or who have histories as outsiders, as it doesn't make much sense in our setting.
Characters. Nobody is perfect, thus our characters shouldn't be either, remember to give your characters flaws and proper personalities. No cat can win every battle without injury, no cat never gets ill, and whilst I wont be expecting you to kill your characters constantly, remember the context of our clan. LGBT+ characters are welcome, but don't join as outsiders nor cats with backgrounds as outsiders. Bloodlines. Not something I force, but something people tend to enjoy generally, where cats of yours share appearance characteristics with other cats, ask said member if they can be related to some extent. Unless its joining as one of your kits, I ask that you don't join as members of your own family, instead offer to be brothers, cousins, etc of existing members. Drama. There is no such thing as too much of this. Throw it at me and enjoy yourselves, at least in terms of the roleplay. All I ask is that you don't let it conflict with our existing plot, i.e. don't kill one of the main characters, and involve as many others as you can.
Character's Image.
Name. Write a description here, aiming to make it between 5 and 8 lines. @screenname Rank Relationships Anything Else.

An onlooker might advise against attacking our clan on a whim, for we are made up of very large cats for the majority. Muscles being quite the pre-requisite for climbing across our expansive territory, speed doesn't make itself a great necessity here. There isn't a single common coat colour among our clan, for the territory is covered in many kinds of foliage and landscape, meaning none are more beneficial than the others. Though patternings are far more common than solid coats.
VergeClan is hardly a conventional clan, though some of its beliefs are similar to what would be considered a normal clan, there are a handful of variations. Namely it is not StarClan we believe in, but the spirits of the Aurora Borealis, made up of fallen cats join the ranks of the aurora, and the constellations which surround the aurora. When Acolytes take their watch on the mountains, the constellations visible on that night are how a cat will gain their warrior name. The Constellations key to the clan are The Dog, The Wolf, The Rat, The Stag, The Ram, The Hare, The Lion and the Lynx. Others are visible, but those are the ones considered sacred to VergeClan. The skies will be carefully watched on the night of a kittens birth, and the constellations visible those nights are thought to bless a kitten with certain traits. Those born on clouded nights or where stars aren't visible are considered unlucky.
Acolyte's Watch. One of the highest points of our territory, it is from here acolyte's on the brink of graduating to Warriors take their spot to watch the Aurora Borealis overhead. The visions they see in the colours are meant to help with the name leader decides the acolyte's name, though not necessarily. What is seen here may only be shared to the clan's healer, and leader, no one else may know and it is forbidden to ask or tell, even loved ones.
Broken Ravine. Named for both the sudden nature in which it divides the territory almost in half, and the state cats unfortunate enough to tumble down it end up in. This is a great canyon marking the eastern border of our territory, given that crossing via this point is near impossible and incredibly lethal even to the bravest and most sure footed of cats. A small stream flows at its foot. Frozen Brook. An unusual landmark, it circles a small patch of meadow within the woodland, marking out our camp and offering a natural border that helps protect us from predators for the most part. Offering a bounty of fish within its waters, but during the colder seasons it is one of the first water sources to freeze over, a sure sign of leafbare's imminent arrival. To avoid getting one's paws wet there are a handful of stepping stones to one side of the camp, making climbing across an easy task. Howler's Peak. A lower level of the mountainside marked by jagged peaks sticking out randomly across the area. It is ample in its offerings of prey which has on occasion attracted wolves to the area, but fortunately that has not occurred in a good few generations, leaving the clan feeling safe enough to use the area. It is dotted throughout with small handfuls of trees, and a variety of helpful herbs can be found growing in the long grass, Landslide Grove. A rather unfortunate part of the territory, though its use still remains. Here there once stood a rather beautiful grove, but since has been rendered partially to ruins by recent landslides. Leaving the area's trees torn down into a massive pile, whilst the foliage is dead, prey continues to use the area. And the place has since been transformed into an Acolyte training area. Moonlit Falls. One of the most beautiful parts of the territory, it is a waterfall tumbling into a pool within the Landslide Grove, though the pool has been marred by foliage, the Waterfalls continue to be rather beautiful. In a cavern behind which one will find the Moonlit Rose, which acts as the Clan's connection to the spirits. The peak from which the water falls is pretty inaccessible given the steep nature of the surrounding cliffs, thus to access the caverns one must use the paths leading up the cliffsides.
Sycamore Forest, An expansive forest which covers our side of the mountain range, it spans the majority of the cliffs, ending where the mountain levels out at the one side, and just before the highest of peaks on the other. A handful of water sources litter the area, and the forest offers much shelter from the bitter leafbares suffered by the clan. The majority of its foliage is sycamore trees, thus the name, but other varieties can be found. Camp is found at the forest's heart. Wanderer's Tree. Nature did no favours to this landmark, bizarre in shape and particularly ugly to look at. This tree marks the heart of our woodland, its branches spiking off in many different directions, like a lost traveller uncertain of the direction to take. It is massive and seemingly quite ancient, offering home to many birds and small mammals. This is a great place to practice one's climbing skills.
Settled within the circle created by the waters of the Frozen Brook, the camp is relatively small, but well sheltered and protected. Leader's Den. Our leader makes their nest within a hollow tree stump, the ceiling largely in tact but entered using a eohole in the side of the fixture. Healer's Den. Found within the confines of a large hollowed out log situated beside the brook, it offers good shelter and its isolated nature offers a quarantine like effect to ill cats. Warrior's Den. The clan's largest den by far, it is situated within massive badger set, long abandoned by the badger who once used it as a home, offering a spacious area for the clan's warriors. Acolyte's Den. The clan's cats in training make their nests within the roots of a small sycamore tree to the right of camp, the branches of which offer the young cats much fun. Nursery. Mothers and their kittens make their home within a small tumble of rocks creating a den inside, well sheltered and difficult to escape for small uncoordinated paws, it offers a safe place for kittens to grow. Council's Den. Those retired from service as warriors become Council to the leader, their wisdom relied on greatly. They make residence within a large thicket to the side of camp.

Stormstar. Embodying the most classic traits of the clan to an exaggerated extent, this tom is massive. Built in every way for the battle field, his muscular form outmatches the majority of his clanmates, though his speed takes a huge hit for this reason. His coat is thick, and made up of a mix of blacks and silver grey, with eyes of dark green, this is an intimidating tom. Brave, and very much lead by his morale compass, Stormstar is young for the high rank he has taken on, but is determined to make his clan the best it can be. He would do anything for his clan, and isn't below risking his own lives to save others. However, he is somewhat short tempered, and not the best when it comes to strategy, very much a tom who will fight first and think about the consequences later.

Sagepaw. Sagepaw is a cream colored she-cat with black starting to form on her paws, head, chest and tail. Her eyes can be described as having a slight slant upwards, though it doesn’t affect her vision at least. They are a light morning sky blue. She isn’t exactly big by Vergeclan standards but she does have at least a decent amount of muscle to her, enough to sustain the amount of climbing she might have to do on a daily basis. Sagepaw is a keep to herself type of cat, usually going about her day to day life without talking a whole lot unless she is told to. She thinks that speaking a lot is a sign of not being exactly the brightest star in the sky. She may come across as rude to a lot of cats due to this but she doesn’t seem to mind it in the slightest, she isn’t here to make friends just heal those around her.

Dawnprowl. Sleek, elegant and rather beautiful, this young cat is a bit of an odd one by the standards of VergeClan. Small by the standards of even a normal cat, she carries an athletic build making her a reasonable climber and runner, but comparatively she seems minute amidst her clanmates. Carrying a coat made up predominantly of black, her face and withers are marked with gingers and whites, with eyes of a dark amber. She is a timid and quiet young cat, nervous of those she doesn't know well, but sweet and loyal to the bone around cats she considers her friends. 🇳ᴇcʀᴏᴅ🇦🇳cᴇʀ Dovesong. Dovesong is a sleek gray she-cat with jet black spots on her back. She has a darker gray underbelly. Dovesong has large, almond shaped eyes with light amber eyes. She also has a fluffy tail. Dovesog is a ditzy, curious she-cat that is prone to fits of anxiety and flighty behavior. She loves to have a good time and will often slack off in her warrior duties to go take a nap. She often will joke during serious moments, trying to lighten the mood with a pun. However, underneath her playful demeanor, she is perfectionist that will often crack underneath high pressure and stress.
Featherwhisker. Featherwhisker is a large muscular, broad-shouldered charcoal Siberian tom with dark brown mixed in his bushy neck fur and belly. He has unusually large sharp front claws with fur bunched between his paws. Featherwhisker also has a triangle-shaped face with bright yellow eyes. Featherwhisker is a lazy tom that tends to let others do the work for him Instead of hunting, he would much rather find a nice place to relax. Often, he will use her large size to intimidate the apprentices to do the work for him. He tends to be very laid-back and a very go with the flow type of cat.
Mistycreek. She is a slender and lithe built, light gray shecat with darker gray, thin tabby markings. Her coat has tints of blue. She has snowy white paws and tail-tip. She has sky blue eyes. Misycreek is an amiable feline and tends to get along with everyone with her easy going personality. She is a confident, doesn't tend to second question herself in almost any situation from flirting with a handsome tom to bickering with an elder. She is extremely curious and doesn't mind looking outside of the clan's territory to amuse herself. She knows where her loyalties lie, even if her heart strays away from her clan. This she-cat does have her moments where her bubbly personality morphs into a sharp-tongued and short one.
Patchchaser. A peculiar looking tom, nothing seems to match about him, muscled and tall he is an adapt fighter though has a kindness to him that makes the idea a difficult one to picture. He is marked with a snow white coat, splotched randomly with patches of black, as though someone randomly painted him in the dark. His eyes are mismatched, the right being a dark blue and the left being a soft orange. This is a playful, loving young tom who has a jovial demeanour to him, but is often too much of a class clown, and can get on the nerves of others as a result. In short, this is simply a tom with a lot left to learn in life, but has the will power and love for life to learn as much as he can. 🇳ᴇcʀᴏᴅ🇦🇳cᴇʀ
Proudfalcon. This tom can come off as intimidating with his broad shoulders and large frame. He has coyote brown fur with darker brown tabby markings and amber eyes. He is a reserved and indifferent tom. He is quite aloof towards his clanmates. Not unapproachable, he has his moments where he can be attentive and civil. He does enjoy the company of a few select clanmates. He is fiercely loyal and overprotective of his close friends. When he was a kit and apprentice, his mother would tell him that he needed to make friends so he wouldn't lonely. He would brush her advice aside with a swift glare and low growl. Proudfalcon didn't like to talk and had a bit of stutter when he was young. It was something he was teased for and he is still bitter about it. He developed into a charming speaker to spite his kit-hood bullies. Blaze ♡ Ravenstrike. Ravenstrike isn't particularly small, but she has a stocky build with a lot of strength built in them. Her black fur is medium length but gets shaggy and may as well be long fur. She has tall, tufted ears and narrow yellow eyes. Ravenstrike doesn't have a lot to say in conversations, but when she does it's either opinionated or a complaint. She likes to jump into action instead of considering a plan which makes her a pretty bad leader, which she's fine with. She has a hard time getting close to other cats, but not because she's a jerk; she's just awkward.
Robinsplash. Robinsplash is a large fluffy she-cat with her main coat color being white. Her tail has black and orange bands wrapped around it along with a single orange marking on her back hind inner leg. Right above her eyes she also has black and orange markings, stopping at her ears. Her eyes are a dark amber, almost orange color. The only way to describe Robinsplash is she’s very meticulous. She has to do things right whether it takes her all day to do it or not. She expects this of her fellow warriors too, usually asking them to put more effort into the task they are given despite the fact she has no real authority to do so. She doesn’t mean harm when she tries to make cats do things perfectly, she thinks everyone should have high expectations of themselves. ☾ѕησσzє☽
Rowansong. Rowansong is a bright ginger tom with light ginger eyes to match. He has some lighter markings on him, almost white and darker tabby markings all over his body. His fur is long while his under body is large, making him look way more fearsome than he actually is. Rowansong is typically the type to make jokes and goof off rather than go about his warrior duties. He is the nightmare of any hardworking deputy or leader because he is hard to hate with his goofball personality but he just doesn’t seem to have a sense of urgency to him. He would rather spend his time telling the kits in the nursery stories or giving them badger rides than going out and hunting or doing something probably more productive for the clan. When he puts his mind to it though, he can be a decent hunter. He isn’t the best but he can still bring a decent haul back to the clan. ☾ѕησσzє☽
Spiderwhisker. Spiderwhisker's height is mostly leg length, but he doesn't tower over too many cats. He has a round face and short fur, which is dark with nearly black points on his face and paws. He has round, ice blue eyes. Spiderwhisker is a joy to be around for most cats, as he can't help but want to brighten someone's day, even if they don't necessarily want it. He has a deep sense of pride for himself and his Clanmates, so he wants to make sure everyone feels their best with themselves. He seems to talk the ears off of other cats and can be very overbearing, but he doesn't annoy others out of spite.
Morningpaw. Morningpaw is a large she-cat whose fluffy fur only makes her look bigger. She has a light tortoiseshell pelt with a few patches of white. Her eyes are a soft green, and she has dainty paws and a small muzzle. Morningpaw is bright and happy, always open to making friends. She has a hard time paying attention to others while they speak and often gets distracted, although she doesn't mean to. She's also pretty clumsy and tends to trip if she's not looking at the path ahead. She's even ran into a couple of trees. She has a huge, generous heart that loves to help others, but it also makes her gullible to trickery. ✨ nissabug ✨

Eversnow. Her base coat is black as pitch and can remind anyone of the night sky on new moon day. There are a silvery white flecks dusted over her back and flanks, it looks like a snow storm blew past her. She has icy blue eyes. With her long legs and her broad shoulders, this she-cat has elegant yet commanding aura. When Eversnow squares her squares and draws herself to full height, she means business. Eversnow is one of those cats that always likes to be in charge or at least has a general idea of what going on. Not knowing something has always drives her crazy even as a little kit. She enjoys order and structure. She is a perfectionist and doesn't like to stray away from any type of standard. She is bull-headed and is always willing to argue her point. Blaze ♡
Littlepoppy. Littlepoppy is small for a tom and has a round, thick body type. In fact, everything about him is round, from his face to his light amber eyes. He has dark ginger classic tabby fur with barely lighter paws and chest. Littlepoppy is soft-spoken and gets stressed easily, even about the small things. He knew from a young age that he wasn't cut out for battling, and after a few moons as a warrior he decided to return to the nursery as a permanent queen. He still remembers his warrior training, however, and if he feels he or the kits are threatened he will fight to the death. He's very gentle and kind and doesn't enjoy getting into disagreements with others. Open, just don't join as motherless kits nor all of your own litter.

Mentors Mistycreek mentors Morningpaw.
Families Spiderwhisker and Goldensong are the parents of Sagepaw. Stormstar and Featherwhisker are brothers.
Mates Spiderwhisker and Goldensong were mates.
The constellations and the aurora have always held great importance to our clan, but of recent the skies overhead have become dimmer and dimmer with every moon that passes. And the Clan are beginning to believe it is perhaps the somewhat bizarre beliefs of the leader that is causing the stars to be angry with the clan. Calls are made for the leader to be dethroned, and a better cat put in his place.
By the time they learn what is truly going on, they are in the grips of darkness more firmly than any of us could ever imagine.
A dark force has been attacking the constellations, immortal beings restricted and crippled, with the spirits doing what they can to stop it but finding the battle a losing one. Darkness floods into the territory, and cats are drawn to their side without knowing the extent of the evil lacing their intentions.
Until a last resort takes place, in one last desperate attempt the Spirits send word of a prophecy to the Clan, before being distinguished and the Clan begins the descent into ruin. Was the prophecy sent too late? Or will the Clan survive the impossible?

((Hey! I am so sorry! I thought that I read the rules pretty well. Let me fix things for ya. ))
Dovepaw felt a small blush reach across her features. "Oh no." She muttered softly to herself before shaking her head and moving in the underneath. Brambles picked at her pelt as she moved deeper into the undergrowth, causing her to hiss in pain slightly. "You can do better. There is no excuse right now." She thought to herself as determination flared in the pit of her stomach. Unsheathing her claws, the she-cat scented a skinny vole. It wasn't a mouse but that would work. Moving closer, Dovepaw barreled forward and ripped straight into the vole's neck before shaking it. Making sure it was dead, she placed it with the dead mouse in a hidden tree nook. Keeping her ears pinned to her head, she lifted her nose to the air, trying to catch scent of something. A mouse maybe? Or a bird? Hooking her claws into the tree, the she-cat lifted herself up the tree. Eyeing a blackbird on a branch, Dovepaw's jumped towards the bird, forcing it to the ground with a heavy thud. However, with the crack of blackbird's skull, the branches underneath her broke, causing a deep cut above her left eye. The kill was not pretty but it had to do. With a slight thud, Dovepaw landed on her side with the blackbird hanging loosely in her jaws. Placing a paw at her eye, she"Mousedung...It's fine. Whatever..." She let out a muffled hiss with the blackbird in her mouth. Getting out a slight growl of pain, she carried the blackbird, vole, and mouse as a small trail of blood followed behind her towards her mentor. "Better?"

[ This is going to be so much fun <3
I thought my parents had plans but we haven't left yet, therefore I will start my forms now. I think I am just going to make four cats. I don't want to overwhelm myself. Character building is my shit
Also what is your image box size? I think most of my photos are cropped to fit into 100x100/square image box ]
