Beholder [ Camp ]
"Cedar, you will be the mentor to Silver."
Beholder glanced down at the little female, pale with tabby stripes. It would be a good fit, Cedar and Silver. The leader knew there was always a risk choosing mentors so early in a cats life. What if they don't fit together? What if something happens to the mentor? It was scary putting so much up to chance. But the Stars wanted her to keep the faith, if she didn't the Circle would lose everything and be no more.
Bending forward, Beholder softly grasped Silver by her small scruff and waited for Cedar to touch the kit's forehead. The little thing wiggled so much and let out a loud squeal from being disturbed.

[ I believe I found both Smoke & Vixen's replies. I am not sure if there was a response back with Taz yet? correct me if I am wrong or if there is some continuity errors ]
Kale with Vixen and Smoke / Elder's Den [ PudgeCat and ☾ѕησσzє☽ ] Kale's eyes were lit with amusement as he followed after his denmate. He couldn't say anything back since the sparrow was stuffed within his mouth. He flickered her tail and paused behind her as Vixen call into the den. He gently sat the bird down on the ground in front of them. His ears flickering as he heard rustling within the den.
His eyes flickered back to Smoke. "I would watch out," he joked and couldn't help but wince as Smoke just decided to walk into the den without hesitation. The gray female popped back out of the elder den and wrinkled his nose. Kale followed his denmates into the elder den once they got the all clear and set down the sparrow in front of Taz with a small purr. It was in easy reach so the elderly feline wouldn't have to stretch to drag the sparrow closer.
Kale opened his mouth to ask Taz where she thought the ticks might likely be at within her fur. He paused for a moment and flickered his tail as he heard something outside of the elders den. His green eyes brightened in excitement, this might be the ceremony, he thought, remembering that Storm had her kits recently.
Grouse, Taz, and the apprentices / Elders Den [ PudgeCat and ☾ѕησσzє☽ ]
Grouse was snoozing peacefully. There was a slight murmur about the camp and the elder den tended to muffle the excitement of the clan. Grouse's hearing wasn't as good as it used to be when he was a younger. He didn't even hear the apprentices voicing their approach until he heard Taz's harsh voice.
"Wha..?" he meowed, sleepily as he blinked open his eyes. He tilted his head to peer at Taz from it's position on his paws. Grouse shifted in his nest before his green gaze flickered over to the apprentices. He paused, 'when did they get here?' he thought. The light brown flickered his tail in greeting but didn't say anything else.
Grouse pushed himself to his paws, stretching for a moment as he followed the apprentices and Taz out of the camp to watch the ceremony. His green eyes were bright with excitement. He had heard the whispers earlier. This would be the first time he would see his grandkits. Grouse might not be a big speaker among the clan but he loved his daughter.

Wren & Saber [ Camp ] Wren trailed after Saber. She was light on her paws, almost not making any sound compared to Saber. She twitched her whiskers as she wondered what it would be like to be a large cat. She couldn't help but laugh at Saber as the tom had to crouch to get out of the den. She paused for a moment, realizing that was probably rude. "I am sorry," she mused in a soft voice with a small smile, referring to her laugh and her attitude earlier.
She nodded aimlessly and was about to agree with him when she spotted the Beholder getting into position for a meeting. "We might have to pause on that thought," she meowed in a wry tone before bumping her shoulder against his, well more like his leg. She wondered what this was going to be about as they wondered over.
Wren's gaze flickered around their clanmates before she spotted Moose and Storm. "Oh," she breathed, a curious gleam sparking in her eyes as she watched the healer, now a queen bring her kits forward. "I didn't even realize," she breathed to Saber. The cream feline leaned forward slightly to get a better look at the newborns.

Spotting her father amble through the elders den exit, her ears pricked forward. Whilst a quiet natured shecat, around the ones she loved she was a sweet and kind creature, and she couldn’t wait for the tom she admired more than any cat in the circle more or less to meet her kittens. She resisted the urge to lift herself to her paws and greet him, turning her attention back to the ceremony in time to see her daughter chosen as the apprentice of Silver. She smiled brightly at the choice, a feeling of pride embedded deep in her chest, for a kitten no more than a few hours old.

cedar | camp | mentor ceremony // @ everyone
Happiness showered the tom's mind at the choice. He peered closer at the kit - so young and full of potential. He stepped forward, wanting to fulfill tradition in the quickest manner he deemed possible - each passing moment allowing for more small mewls of desperation to escape out of the newly named Silver. He put his brown head forward quickly - though hesitation laced his thoughts, it was far from evident in his actions. What if I can't teach her well enough? What if I waste her talents?
Despite the rapidness of the interaction, Cedar couldn't help but allow the warmth radiating from his "apprentice" to bring back memories of his own young. Perhaps this is what Dawn, Nettle, Stag and Doe's mentors felt like when they were chosen. The sleek tom stepped back slowly, his mind only just now fully comprehending the entire situation; he had an apprentice. An apprentice. A cat whose future he was responsible for.
The realization was surreal.
He looked back to Silver, mewling constantly and kicking her petite legs in a constant need to feel solid ground beneath her. Green eyes clouding with a desperation for Beholder to put the poor kit down, the tom turned away. This is tradition and is necessary. But these kits are always so scared; they don't know what's happening. He raised his head again to look back one last time at one of the the newest members of the circle. Am I supposed to feel this responsible for her? Will Moose get angry if I act like an important male figure? So many questions, but the answers were nowhere. He only hoped he could prove to be a good mentor.

Beholder [ Camp / Ceremony ]
As the leader set down the little kit back next to her mother, Beholder could see the pride and fear within Cedar. It was understandable. A mentor went through the apprentice's life as if they were another parent. Cedar would be responsible of Silver for the rest of his life and that was a harsh reality many of the Circle members struggled to understand. One day, Beholder will find her own apprentice. Once the Stars send the name of the young cat to replace her, Beholder will hold the name until her final breath. In death, she will guide the next Beholder.
Noticing the two cats that padded over from the warriors den, Beholder twitched her whiskers. "Wren." Beholder called the female,
"It is time for you to become a mentor. From this day and until your last, you will see to this kit as if they were your very own. You will guide them, teach them and advise them through the difficulties of life. Do you accept this?"

The healer had watched in silence, trying not to cringe as she listened to her daughter’s desperate crying, for all the kitten had known she’d been stolen by a hawk and was going to be eaten, none of the three new any better. It seemed cruel to the shecat to force such practices on the newborns, even if it did no true harm it broke the mother’s heart to here the petrified newborns crying for her. Thus she was infinitely grateful when Silver at least was returned to her paws. The new mother leant down, rasping her tongue across the shekit in a soothing manner, enveloping the newborn in her scent as she worked to calm the panicked kit. “I’m here,” she said softly, nestling the newbornnbeside her flank as she returned her gaze back to the ceremony. Where Wolf and Rain continued their desperate pleas for their mother to find them.

Wren shifted in her place next to Saber. Her ear twitched as she watched Cedar approach the kit. She could see the happiness on the older tom's face as he touched his forehead with the newborn kit. She twitched her whiskers, Cedar was a good warrior and his kits were almost ready to start their training.
Her eyes widened with slight surprise as she heard the Beholder announce her name. I am going to be a mentor, she thought and couldn't help but feel amazed. It was big honor with a lot of responsibilities. Wren couldn't be happier though. She never had put too much thought into
The creamy she-cat pushed herself to her paws and padded over to the mewling kit. "I do," Wren meowed, flickering her gaze away from the kit to meet Beholder's eyes. She stepped forward to gently rest her head against Wolf's, like she had seen mentors do in the past ceremonies.

Wren touched her nose to the larger kit's head. Beholder could feel the strength of his wiggles as she tried to free himself from her grasp. Wolf was a good fit for this young one. He would grow into a large cat with a wild heart. Setting the black and grey Wolf down, Beholder then rested her eyes on Saber. Saber was a gentle warrior despite his size. He would provide the last kit with a mentor.
Saber meowed in his deep voice, resting his nose on Rain's little head. The ceremony was completed and all the kits had their mentors. Once they were at age, the three warriors will teach them the way of the Circle. Beholder slowly looked over her group, proud and powerful cats that devoted their lives to the better of everyone.
Beholder lowered her head to Storm and Moose once more, dismissing everyone to their duties.
Saber bounded back over to Wren, his eyes wide with excitement.
"We have apprentices now." The male felt a shiver crawl down his spine. Saber knew he would have an apprentice at some point but he was still surprised when Beholder called his name. Would he do alright? What would Rain be like when she grew? Saber hoped that Storm and Moose would be okay with Saber with their little kit. He will hunt not just for the Circle but for his apprentice now.
Saber let out a rumbling purr, "I almost can't wait until they are 8 moons."

Grateful for the ceremony being over, the slender healer wrapped her plumed tail around the trio of squirming kittens she lowered her nose to brush it against the newborns with a soft sigh. The burden of motherhood felt weighty in her shoulders, but it was a challenge she was more than willing to accept, she adored the hour old kittens more than she could have even begun to imagine before meeting them. Storm nodded her quiet gratitude to the Beholder, paws itching to return the kits to the safety and warmth of the nursery. Glancing towards the three warriors, newly deemed as the mentors of her kits she admitted her belief that they were likely a good choice. Though the shy mother wasn’t one who sought companionship regularly, from what she’d seen Saber, Wren and Cedar seemed like fine and devoted warriors, who worked hard for the circle. She hoped these were traits they would help instill in her kittens, though she felt a mild protectiveness within her. Not wanting the mentors to stake their claim as her kits role models, the idea left her tail twitching a little. Lowering her muzzle she picked up Wolf and made her way for the nursery, depositing the kitten quickly before returning for the remaining pair.
