Carter wasn’t extremely thrilled about having a partner. There was no reason he couldn’t scout and kill on his own. A natural born hunter with skills honed for assassination - he was perfect for it. But no, he had to work with yet another person who put a good amount of effort into deceiving him. On top of that, he had to work with somebody who didn’t know how he operated. He didn’t like being second guessed or being told how to do things, and if it came down to it, he wasn’t opposed to leaving her tried up to a tree or something until the job was done.
As he came inside the building, he was immediately greeted by Celia. Well, greeted wasn’t quite the word, but he didn’t mind. “People who are late shouldn’t bother showing up,” the lupine replied. He was dressed similarly to her - jeans, t-shirt, and a pair of combat boots. “So, what’s the plan today?” He figured there would be preliminary things that he’d have to take care of before they actually let him out to take care of things.

Wait. Before he handled them? So he wasn’t supposed to come here armed? Oh. Well then... he only gave a slight nod, following her through the halls. He’d likely have to empty himself out, then. “What kind of weapons are there on hand?” He questioned, knowing what he worked best with. Even if they didn’t, Carter supposed he could just bring in his own weapons.
(I’m sorry this is like short I can’t feel my fingers cause it’s super cold at work)

"We have the standard weapons you find everywhere," Celia answered as she lead the way to the training room. This time, instead of heading to the elevators, she took the young man down a hallway that circled around to the back of the building. There, they were met with a set of locked doors. There was a key pad to the right with a cover built over it. The cover was designed so that a hand could reach under and press the keys, but anyone around it would be unable to see what keys were being pressed. It was one of the many safety precautions that was set in place. They were a government organization after all. They had to be on the safe side. "Guns, knives, tasers, the usual stuff. Then there are the modified weapons that have been created for specific creatures. We'll keep the silver away, so don't worry about that."

Humming in acknowledgement, the lupine followed her, glancing at the elevators as they passed. Alright, so it wasn’t upstairs. He simply stood there for a moment as she keyed in the doors code, partially wondering why they didn’t have key cards. At the mention of silver, he nodded a little. “Right - thanks for that,” Carter replied, partially forgetting that there would likely be silver in the next room. “I suppose I should disarm myself when we get in there?” It was rare for him to leave the house unprepared. He always had at least three knives on his person, all of varying sizes. Him and the guys had come to the mutual agreement that everyone would be armed for self defense at all times unless it was absolutely impossible to go somewhere with their weapon of choice.

At the mention of disarming, Celia looked his way. "It would be wise, although, they will already know you have weapons on you. There's detector at the door way that's connected to a monitor in the security's office. If one of the agents walks in armed, that's to be expected. You, however, Louis will have already gotten a call wondering if you need to be detained or not. The fact that you've made it this far means he's cleared you. Still, I would lay them out on a table as soon as we get to the training room." The door clicked open and she pushed it open so they could continue the journey. Now that they were in the restricted area, she lead him to the private elevators that would take them to the second floor.

Listening to her speak, he shrugged a little. He didn’t remember there being any detector, not that had been looking for one. Still, he nodded. “Right. On the table then,” he muttered, following her through the door. And then... more elevators. Did they keep anything on the first floor? Apparently not... well, it wasn’t his building, so it didn’t affect him too much. “So it’s like some preliminary exam, yeah? Hand to hand or weapons of his choice?” He liked knowing things. He didn’t like going into most things with no prior knowledge. He never did if he could avoid it.

Stepping into the elevator after her, he leaned against the side wall and looked at her. He was pretty good with a variation of ranged weapons, and he was good with hand to hand combat. Short range weapons and staff-like weapons, on the other hand... well, let’s just say the weapons didn’t last very long in his hands. He’d never been good with them, typically breaking them in frustration. At the comment about amateurs, he chuckled a little. “Most people don’t like amateurs with weapons,” Carter answered.

"And that's why you're having to train," Celia told him. She herself wasn't good with many weapons. A gun, sure, but when it came to close combat where you had to use knives and what not, she wasn't the best. Hand-to-hand fighting she was decent in, but she would still much prefer not having such confrontations if she could help it. Not enough reaction time or distance to do anything. It made her jumpy. The doors opened and instantly, they were inside the training area. Well, almost. There was a safety room that was twenty feet by twenty feet with bulletproof glass covering the opposite wall. This allowed others to safely observe the training without accidentally being injured in the process. This was were they found Louis now, standing with another man. From the way he stood alone, the second man appeared to be of military training.
"Good morning, Carter, or should I say afternoon," Louis greeted, giving the young an a smile. "I trust this means that you're fully on board with us."

The lupine only shrugged a little. That would be a matter of opinion. As far as he was concerned, he was proficient with his weapons of choice, and had no plans of training to take short range weapons out with him. If somebody asked him to train with such, then there would be problems. Why train with something that he didn’t want to take into jobs? There was no point. Still, he kept his mouth shut as the elevator doors opened and he stepped out. His eyes, rather than settling on Louis, fell on the other man in the room. A soldier, perhaps.
Still, when Louis greeted him, Carter grinned a little. “That’s what it means. The guys should be here around 2,” he informed. Surely Elias would round up the other two, as he usually did. Rather than say anything else, he took to disarming himself as previously discussed in the elevator. He pulled one knife from his hip tucked into the side of his jeans, one from his left back pocket, and two from his right boot. “I was told I should disarm myself.”

"Good, good, I'll inform security to have them brought up to my office as soon as they arrive," Louis said, nodding. Then watched as the young man began to disarm himself. Four knives, exactly how many he had been warned of. It was a good sign that Carter had taken the advice of Celia, for who else would have told him to lay out his weapons, before being told. It meant he could follow the words of others without too much fuss. "Thank you for that. You'll be able to keep them on your person, but first, Major Rikfield here will need to do a simple test with you before you get them back. Call it a physical if you will. He'll be the one you'll be answering to when it comes to supplying weapons for your assignments."
The other man, Rikfield, nodded to Carter, but so far hadn't said much. Instead, he simply watched the young man as he cleared himself of his personal weapons. If the number of blades hidden on the werewolf concerned him, he didn't show it. Truth be told he wouldn't have been surprised if there had been more.

Nodding a little, he partially hoped they were already on their way. He typically didn’t listen to others well, but he hated being frisked. So far, it’d only happened twice in his life and both times had been an unpleasant experience for everyone involved. Being frisked was... invasive. And sure, he understood that the whole point was an invasive search, but he’d never been good with those things. He was very big on personal space. He nodded a little to his comment about keeping them as he turned to hand his weapons to Celia.
“Right, a physical,” Carter muttered, looking at Rikfield. A human, naturally. “So what I’m hearing is I don’t have to supply my own, correct?” Not that it would actually stop him. He had his own weapons for a reason. Regardless he didn’t wait for an answer. “Let’s get this over with.”

"You can use your own weapons if you like," Rikfield responded, voice deeper than his looks would have led anyone to believe. "We have plenty of normal, run of the mill weapons like the kind you've just shown to us. Yet we also have a collection of weapons you won't be able to supply for yourself. Those we will give to you. It'll be your choice whether to use those that are made of silver. Being a werewolf, I would assume you won't be needing them if you run across other werewolves, but it will still be an option should you ever deem it necessary to carry them. Before we get into detail about that, however, if you will follow me, we can go ahead and get things started."

The canine looked at Rikfield when he spoke up, nodding a little to his words. Right, so he could bring his own things, though as for specialized weapons... Well, he did have a couple that he'd stolen on his outings. He did his research as well, ensuring the weapons would be effective and altering them as needed. Even still, he didn't have the skill to completely engineer his specialized weapons from scratch. "Got it - I don't think I'll make use of the silver." Facing Rikfield fully once more, Carter gave a slight nod to the last part. And follow he did - the faster this 'physical' was over, the better.

His answer was to be expected. Without a word, Rikfield led him into the training room. As they left, Celia and Louis stood watching them from the safety of the bulletproof glass. "So, you're thoughts on him?" Louis asked.
"I haven't formed an opinion of him yet," Celia replied. "Though I still don't know why you couldn't have paired me with someone already trained."
"You'll understand my reasoning once you start to work with him. Trust me, I do know what I'm doing."
Celia didn't bother to reply. For one reason, he was the director of the organization. His word was final. At the same time, however, he had spent the majority of his life doing this. Louis knew what he was talking about, even if she didn't understand him all the time. So, the woman decided to give it a chance. Granted, it didn't mean she liked it, but she would suffer through working with the werewolf for a time to see if Louis was right after all, or wrong.

Carter followed in silence, finding that he didn’t have anything to say. Instead he let his eyes wander around the training room, watching the other agents as they worked on honing their skills. Right - it didn’t look different in concept from what his group did, however it just looked more official. That could be a good thing or a bad thing. They trained on the fly, finding it offered more in the way of problem solving as well. Training in an enclosed environment, while safer than what he was used to, had its limitations. Still, he didn’t speak on it.

(Lol, okay! XD)
It took a good hour for Rikfield to work through all the basics and see where the newcomer was at on a fighting level. There was no doubt that the man was skilled. Granted, it was the kind of skilled that screamed he had learned it for himself and not by a professional, but it was a skill nonetheless. Carter had learned how to fight, and he did it well. Not formal, but still well. He wasn't as hopeless as he had been expecting. With a couple of months of work, he could teach the young man more than he knew, along with the proper techniques he had memorized through his own experience. "I think that will do for today," he called the end of the session as he straightened up.

Carter would be the first to admit that he was far from formal when he fought. As far as the government would be concerned, he was highly skilled in street fighting. That is, no holds barred, no rules, and no blow was truly a low blow. That being said, he was a strategist at heart, generally having an idea of how to plot several moves far enough in advance that he was well prepared. Even still, he could admit that he could certainly learn a few things here. Not that he was thrilled about that, but he knew his own current limitations. After all, he was self taught for the reason of survival, not paychecks, and part of him was sure that’s where the difference originated.
When Rikfield decided they were done, he straight up, stretching his arms over his head. “Alright.” The guys had arrived sometime in the middle of his test if the amount of times his phone had gone off was any indication. Turning he started back to the area from which he’d came, figuring one of the three people would have some sort of commentary.

"So, how is he?" Louis asked. The man had watched the entire session, watching as the men sparred and ran through training drills. He could tell for himself that Carter was skilled, but there was a reason that he had asked Rikfield to evaluate him. Now, seeing the session was nearing an end, he and Celia walked out to where they were.
Rikfield turned to the director and nodded. "He's got promise," he spoke. "Uses street fighting techniques, but that's to be expected. Nothing that will hinder him. If anything, it might help," he admitted. "He's got a lot to improve on, but nothing a month or two of training might not be able to help. He should be fine for the first few assignments."
Louis nodded and looked towards Carter. "That's what I was hoping to hear. Would you be interested, then, in hearing this assignment?"

Carter only listened to the exchange, watching the three of them. Of course he had promise, he'd been fending for himself for most of his life. Without promise, he would probably be dead already. Still, it didn't bother him any less when it was mentioned that he had things to improve on. Sure, he knew that he did, but that didn't mean it didn't bother him. Even then, he kept quiet, sighing a little. He'd either be going home, training for the remainder of the day, or he'd get to do something worthwhile. He was hoping for the last option, though would be fine with the first. The second, not so much. He wasn't the kind to change his ways easily.
When he was addressed, the lupine nodded. "Sure. I'd also like my knives back." He took very good care of them and wasn't particularly fond of leaving them with somebody else.

Picking them up on his way out wasn’t terrible. So he nodded, shoving his hands into his pockets. “Yeah, Alright.” He didn’t really care for where he got the details of the job, just so long as he got them. A job with no intel was a shot in the dark and relied on luck. Despite how much faith he had in the spirits he worshiped, he didn’t leave things up to chance if he could help it. And he usually could.

"Then lets not waste any more time. I need to get things in order for your friends when they arrive as well," Louis said. With a gesture that beckoned them to follow, he led the way out of the training room. Celia didn't hesitate. She fell into step behind the director. She had gone through the process of receiving assignments so many times, she knew the drill. However, this time around, she would have Carter tagging along.
Three minutes later, they were all in the briefing room, and Louis was handing out the file that held all the information they would need to gain an idea of what they were looking at. Naturally, Celia took it from him. "Everything you need to know is in that folder, but I'll summerize it a bit," the man said. "There's been rumors that a demon has been stirring up trouble down in Melton," a town three hours to the south and packed with people," I want you two to go find it, see if the rumors are true, and then deal with it as you see fit."

Carter fell in with them, collecting his personal weapons in passing. He’d put them all back once they stopped. “They’ll be here in about five minutes,” he commented after checking his phone briefly. Alex has texted him, which was oddly responsible of him. It was usually Elias who was on top of things in his absence. Even still, he didn’t question it - rather he was just happy that they were going to be early.
Once in the meeting room, the lupine took to placing his knives back in their proper holding areas while Celia took the folder from Louis. Standing up straight once he was finished, he raised an eyebrow. Demon? They weren’t exactly fun to deal with - alongside Gumiho, they were hard to read in terms of honesty. Their intentions weren’t so easy to pick out either, though he figured it wasn’t nothing a rune couldn’t help with. So long as the demon didn’t render all magic within their radius useless, subduing the poor thing would be easy. Relatively speaking, that is. He was no stranger to unpleasant outcomes with them... “Sounds good. Shouldn’t take any longer than a day or so.”

He did a quick double check, ensuring his knives were secure. He shook his head slightly, knowing he didn’t have anything else to ask. He had a location and possible target, and whatever else was in that folder so he wasn’t particularly worried about needing more. Rather, he was worried about what kind of havoc the three guys would cause while they were here - they were all good at pushing boundaries. Looking to Celia, rolled his shoulders once. “I’m ready whenever you are.” He was pliant enough, but it didn’t mean he liked having a stranger for a partner any less.
