(LMAO ITS ALL GOOD DUDE)
The lupine was grinning by now, leaning back in his chair. He came out here for one thing, and he wasn't getting it. All that he was hearing at this point was that he could still be sleeping before his hunting trip. Still, he didn't say anything as Louis continued to speak. Still vague, so it still wasn't enough to even keep his interest in continuing this little meeting. "I'm a very honest person. And in my honest opinion, what I'm hearing is that this is a waste of a consultation, and I no longer need to be here. Considering my hobby is my job, I've lost interest in this little get together of ours." Standing up from his sitting position, he stretched a little.
He was good at weaseling out of things, especially when people refused to be specific. When they weren't specific, it usually meant they didn't actually have anything on him. And if they did... Well, let's just say they went silent. "Besides, I have to tell the boys we're down a job, So you either drop the vague act and pay me for my time here today, or I leave." Not a lie, just not the exact situation. In reality, he'd be telling them that the offer he figured would fall through fell through. As for the second part... What could he say, he was a man of his word. And those were the only two options he was willing to offer, and he wouldn't budge on either of them.
(it really is!! and literally same so I was trying to find a way to appeal it)

The lycanthrope broke into a full-blown laugh for a brief moment. Oh, that was rich. See, the reason you didn't tell him things like that was because he always found a way out of things like that. "You think a human is any match for an alpha? Since I'm sure my heritage isn't in any of your little files, you had no way of knowing." This was all just a game to him, and he tended to be victorious in these situations. "For somebody who knows so much about me, you aren't too bright telling me that. One order from me and your lookouts will do whatever I tell them." The Voice of the Alphas was a powerful thing. He'd done his research after coming to the realization that he had nobody. No pack, no lupine friends. Nothing. He'd completed all his own rituals, taught himself all the runes he could ever need, and carried out his own training. There was nothing a human would be able to do to resist the voice - especially since beta wolves couldn't deny it either.
Leaning forward, he placed his hands on the desk to support his weight. "You are nothing in the face of me. You're not my boss, you're not my friend. You don't get to advise me of anything." As sweet as he was, he did have a short temper, and once he was pissed, it was hard to ground him again. "You're going to tell me why you've wasted my time today, and why you felt the need to use deceit to do it. You clearly want me for other services, which you could have said from the get-go. I'm a nice man, Louis, but I don't like being lied to." The fact of the matter was, if he had simply sent as somebody as wanting a hitman, he would've agreed without a problem. It's just what he did. And he had no qualms about ripping out the man's throat if further provoked. Usually, he didn't initiate physical altercations of any sorts when he wasn't doing a job, but being lied to... well, it was good justification if you asked him. Part of him was hoping he'd leave this building without having the kill the person before him as well as exposing himself when he yelled at the lookouts. That was ideal. However, he knew that he couldn't always talk his way out of things, and he was technically at a disadtange. Phsycially, he had all the means to win any fight that happened in the next five minutes. Location wise, he was screwed - they knew what he was and how to take him down, and there was only so much he could do.
Besides, a nine foot tall wolf wouldn't fit very well inside the building.

Louis grinned as he listened to the man talk. "Actually, I have little to no information on you," he admitted. "Just a rumor and a faint hope. You've just give me the information I sought and then some. Thank you for that." He knew that what Carter said was true. He had witnessed the power an Alpha had over his or her Pack, even had such power turned on him once before in his earlier years. It was not an experience he wanted to have again. Despite the threats being thrown at him, all of which he very well believed, he waved them aside. "Please, Mr. Park, I did not bring you here to threaten and force. Rather, I had you come here for a proposition. A chance for the both of us to help each other out. Now, if you will give me but a moment of your time, I will be more than happy to be frank with you. I'm sorry to have used deceit to bring you here, but since I did not know who you were or how you would have handled having one of my agents approach you, I thought it would be best to play it safe. There will be no more such dealings, I assure you."

Watching him closely, he raised an eyebrow as he spoke. Was this guy crazy? Bringing in somebody that could possibly kill him without batting an eyelash on the mere chance that rumors could be true? That had to be the dumbest thing he'd ever heard. "That's a hefty risk. It'd be a shame if it ended poorly," he commented, eyes narrowing a little. At this rate, he was just getting angrier and wanted nothing more than to rip out his throat. Then again, that would probably be a poor choice on his part. So he listened as Louis spoke, opting to see exactly why he was here before making a decision.
Still, he didn't relax. No, his jaw was set and he looked ready to fight at any moment. A moment of his time? He had to be kidding. Carter huffed, standing up straight once more. "You had a moment of my time, and you wasted it. I'm not exactly what you'd call patient." A flaw of his. No matter how much he tried to manage himself, he tended to go for instant gratification no matter what the situation was. "You lie to me and waste my time all for the mere chance that I was what you heard. Whatever your proposition is, it better be damn good, Louis," Carter stated. Crossing his arms over his chest, he simply stared at the other man. For now, he was willing to hear his offer.

"I don't underestimate - I'm confident in what I do," Carter stated. He never assumed another's abilities, or he tried not to that is. Instead, he focused on planning ahead with the extent of his own abilities. And a human against an alpha with his skills? It was unlikely that he'd lose. Or, at least, this was his logical conclusion. Biased, yes, but also based on logic. As he listened to the man, he simply stared at him. "You intend to draw me into a dispute between humans and literally every other living thing? Look, I don't really care for the overall vendetta human's seem to have against everyone else, but as far as I'm concerned, it has nothing to do with me." He didn't really care for that little civil war that was happening in literally every country. Carter took care of himself and the three boys who stuck by his side, and that was it.
Sighing, he found himself cracking his knuckles, both out of boredom and out of habit. "What's in it for me?"

With the years this organization had been operating, the group had developed quiet a few means of protection again supernaturals and their talents. There were some that still couldn't be fully defended from, as we to be expected, but there were a lot that could be. The Voice of the Alpha was one if done quickly enough. "I intend for you to help tie up lose ends," Louis corrected. "We here and in other locations around the country, have been near successful in ridding the land of supernatural in nature. The amount of attacks and sightings have diminished greatly since we started. However, there are those who have gone into hiding. Some are solitary and pose no threat. Others have grouped together and are causing a bit of trouble for regular people. These are the ones we need help with.
"As for what's in it for you," he continued, "You'll be safe from any other hunters that you might run across, both in human and lupine form. Should you be caught at a crime scene, you will have immunity from any charges, and you'll be paid a pretty check every month directly into whatever account you wish to see it in. Not to mention food, shelter, and back-up should you run into trouble."

He was at a disadvantage at the point of sheer numbers. He was alone, and despite his innate abilities, there was only so much he could do if he became overwhelmed. Still, it was usually advantageous to appear as though he would absolutely have everything under control no matter what happened. Usually, it caused to people to take him at his word and there was no need for a physical altercation. And yet, another part of him that was only growing simply insisted to through himself into a fight with reckless abandon. It was very rare that he did such a thing, but when he did, it was usually followed by a gruesome ending.
Listening to a more accurate description of what he wanted, Carter couldn't help but frown a little. There wouldn't be trouble to cause if humans didn't suck so much. It wasn't like he didn't hear the way they spoke of those who were different from themselves. Then again, every species did it. He was personally unsure of which side started the physical displays of distaste for between the two types, but he really only concerned himself with staying out of it. It seemed most wolves did - when he hunted it seemed that normal human hunters and the packs had a silent understanding. As long as neither was intentionally harmed, then everything was peaceful. Of course, he was no stranger to the occasional werewolf hunters or the rogue wolves who succumbed to their more feral instincts and lost every trace of humanity. And yet, he never concerned himself with such trivial matters as he never quite cared for the dispute.
When Louis finally spoke on what he'd receive for his services, he nodded slowly. He didn't tend to have too many problems with hunters simply because of the times he went out and shifted, though it would be nice to not deal with them at all. Getting caught was rarely a problem, too, but he'd had a couple of incidents... Those incidents ended poorly for all parties involved. Immunity sounded nice, and a check on top of his typical jobs would be lovely. Food and shelter weren't a concern for him, and he figured he'd rarely agree to have back-up, although the option was still nice to have. "Extend the food and shelter to my boys, and I'd be more than happy to work with you. They're like brothers to me, and what's mine is theirs." The lupine didn't typically form tight bonds, but those three boys were like little brothers to him. Eventually he'd tell them he was a werewolf... but for now, he was just more concerned with them having a safe place to stay. Sure, his house was safe because he's the one who lived there, but he couldn't be there all the time. In their line of work, he wouldn't forgive himself if something happened to them.
For a wolf without a pack, he had a very odd sense of loyalty about him. He knew it was weird, but it never really bothered him.

"Are your boys, as you put it, the same as you?" Louis asked. "Are they werewolves or contract killers such as yourself?" If they were, then having a couple more working under him would be nice. If not, then it was still a good thing to know. Of course, any family of the employees of the organization were taken care of. That was his policy that he made sure to provide. This line of work came with a lot of risk, and, being a family man himself, he wanted to make the risks worth it. So along with the good pay, meals, and lodging his agents received, their families were also set up funds and had means of protection should anything were to happen to them. This information he would tell Carter, but not until after the young man had answered his question.

(It’s fine - tbh I just so happened to be on my laptop for once and I was like ‘yes I might absolutely detail almost his whole personality in this singular post)
Carter figured the question was fair. Based simply on the nature of the offer, it would be good to know what his little group did. “Contract killers; two humans, one possible werewolf.” Loners that made their living in the city knew how to blend, and that included masking their scent from other super natural beings. He had quickly grown accustomed to the practice, and others that knew of it practiced religiously as well. One of the men from his group raised his suspicions on a regular basis, however he didn’t find it necessary to ask. He trusted the boys, and they trusted him, which was all he really cared about. In due time he was sure that he’d find out.

(Lol, it works for me. XD I should do that with Celia whenever they start to work together.)
Louis nodded. "Do you think they would be interested in working here as well? They would receive all the benefits I offer to everyone on my employees, and I will make sure the possible werewolf is protected as well," he told him. "If not, then they will get protection and funds that I give to the families of all my agents as a sort of compensation and thanks for your service. No matter their decision, they will not have to worry about being in want or being hunted. However, I can't promise them immunity if they get caught on one of their assassination jobs. That I can only promise you since all that you'll be killing will be those I tell you to. Since we're cleared as an official government operation, you don't have to worry about being caught. Now, I wouldn't take that as permission to do whatever you want in order to complete the jobs. Your immunity only covers so much, but I trust you're not the kind to get carried away."

(Lol yeahhh they’re definitely gonna hate each other xD)
The canine hummed quietly in thought. He didn’t know how any of them would feel. They much liked taking jobs as they pleased, and weren’t too fond of authority. Although, the protect could possibly be enough to sway them. They were all about their freedom, not really enjoying the restrictions that came with day to day life. “I’ll talk to them - we’re a little protective over what we do on our own time, so I wouldn’t expect them to give up our night business without a fight,” Carter replied. It was the one thing the lot of them had full control over, and if he were to be honest, he didn’t want to give it up either. Sure, he was his own boss with it came to his day job, but there was something about people approaching them with a hint of fear that was satisfying. And telling them no if nobody felt like taking the job was even better.

(Same xD it’ll be a fun time)
Giving a slow nod, he listened as Louis specified how much time he has if he didn’t have a decision today. Honestly, it wasn’t a bad offer, although part of him worried it would interfere with his day to day activities. Still, not risking arrest on jobs with guaranteed pay... it really wasn’t a bad deal. “So long as I may continue with my day job, I’d be more than happy to work with you. The boys will have an answer on Monday.” With a deal like this, part of him thought it wouldn’t take much for them to say yes. It would make things easier on all four of them, and then they wouldn’t have to deal with tracking down people who decided not to pay the second half of the money.

“I make time - I’m not stranger to travel,” he responded. He honestly liked to travel, and he was decently known for his work outside of town. However, when a partner was brought up, he frowned a little. “Partner? The hell do I need a partner for?” Carter didn’t work extremely well with others, he even still had problems with his little crew despite working together for years. He preferred being alone - it eliminated the possibility of having to fix or cover up somebody else’s mistakes.

A scout. He needed a scout partner? He was a damn wolf, he could find and kill his own targets! There was absolutely no reason for him to have anybody else around that could possibly cause error. Why in the name of the Spirits did he need somebody else to do it when he could just do it himself? He’d thought that was the whole point of hiring a lupine. Huffing, the sound coming out just short of a growl, Carter waved his hand dismissively. “Whatever, I’m sure I can adapt. When do I meet her and when do I start?”

The lupine raised an eyebrow, but said nothing more. Already met her.... Celia. Sighing lightly he let his eyes close for a moment before he opened them once more. “Right. You’ll see me at noon on Monday, then.” He wasn’t getting up any earlier than 11. Without waiting for a response, Carter turned and made his way out of the office, figuring he was now well over due for some rest.

Friday afternoon he’d called up the boys, having them all come over like they always did. The three had shown up pretty soon after the call, letting themselves in through the back door. Carter told them about the about the job offer, and while skeptical at first, they seemed rather okay with the idea. “I mean I kind of like the idea of immunity.” Caleb commented.
“Yeah but it doesn’t mean you get to be careless. Which you already are,” Alex snickered. Caleb only dismissed the idea with a grandiose wave of his hands, saying how he most definitely wasn’t careless and was the epitome of responsibility. The canine only laughed while he watched the exchange. Eventually, it was Elias who brought up the group’s concern.
“Are they going to separate us? Like, do we have to move?”
The werewolf didn’t have a proper answer. Honestly, he hadn’t expected them to say yes. Still, he wasn’t the type to let anything go without a fight, and they weren’t either. “We’re not moving. They’ll split us apart over my dead body. No more than our usual jobs, right?”
The three nodded in agreement, immediately forgetting the concern. Carter was a man of his word, so they figured they had nothing to worry about.
—-
Monday rolled around much faster than he thought it would. He was up at 11, showered and dressed by 11:20, and out of the house by 11:30. As per his usual, he arrived at the building a little bit early, having already called his friends to ensure they showed up by at least 2 today. He let himself into the building just as he had on Friday, but this time he didn’t bother taking in his surroundings. It was the same - no different scents, nothing out of place. Then again, he supposed that was a government building for you.
He realized very quickly that he hadn’t been given any indication of where he was meant to be going. Right... maybe he should’ve asked.

Celia had been told that Carter had accepted the terms of employment and would be starting on Monday. Great. It wasn't the fact of working with someone else that bothered her. In fact, it was she who told Louis that she wasn't the one that could both hunt down the supernatural rebels and dispose of them at the same time. While she has killed her fair share of creatures, she just wasn't the fighting type. Someone else who was more skilled than she needed to be the one to do it. She didn't, however, feel very thrilled to have to help some new guy learn the ropes. Celia had been hoping to get someone who was already an agent, perhaps someone like Davin or Olivia, someone who had been a part of the company now for years and who she could tolerate working with. But no, she got Carter, a complete newbie and a werewolf on top of that.
It was currently 11:25am Monday morning, and once more she was waiting in the lobby for her new partner to arrive. Only this time she was in her normal attire. Gone was the business suit, and in its place was a simple dark purple tank top, skinny jeans, and her favorite pair of combat boots. This was her "uniform" of sorts. It was rare for her to be inside the main office for long, so she never bothered to try and meet the dress code that everyone else seemed to have. Well, there wasn't really a dress code, but people tended to dress nice for work. Blouse and shirts that weren't tees, dress pants for those with desk jobs, jeans for the agents who go out and patrol or take on missions. It was around this time when Carter walked in. "Good to know you're not the kind to be late," she commented.
