Only one of those is buff though, Jacques. Susan iirc was described as small and Darktail never had any muscular descriptions did he? I thought he was, because I always wondered how a wee Windclan cat like Onestar could give birth to big strong Darktail Onestar was stronger than Darktail though.

Eh, cannibalism is a really iffy topic, especially since a lot of kids read this, but the Erins like their violent deaths.
Edit: I keep leaving out words in my posts agh

Yay kits! Well, there goes all my theories on Kite and Turtle. But please, please let their father be MacGyver or Sagenose. Both deserve kits, and Harrybrook is definitely Bellaleaf's mate. And newsflash, meeting their niece and nephew is going to turn a warrior against their Clan, Bramblestar. Sandynose pulled this same bull in DN. And wow, I was not expecting Wrenkit to be so old. Maybe we'll get to meet her siblings? I seriously doubt it's Sagenose. He's Kitepaw's mentor, so I feel like they would have mentioned if he was the father.
True that Sagenose's own mentor was his mother, but they still mentioned it. And they mentioned Shellheart as being both Oakheart's father and mentor. So if Sagenose was the father, I truly do feel like they would have mentioned it.

Onestar was stronger than Darktail though. What? No way really? Onestar was this tiny old man I mean one was a trained old warrior, but the fact he died the way he did is pretty pathetic.

I always thought Darktail was super tough though, because of the way he handled the kin, and how he sliced out Rain's eye. But maybe he was actually a wimp shrimp and needed all the kin to be his body guards or something

Just commenting because i haven't seen anyone point this out.. why are they acting like the Forest stops at the stream and is suddenly moor land? I remember it being described almost as thick and lush as ThunderClan's territory. They originally wanted it when they moved to the lake.

He could fight Rain just fine on his own, and Rain is a pretty built cat. Darktail's methods though, rely on loyalty, and groups, it's why he tried to drill things like this psychologically into other's. It's like a type of mental abuse, he's manipulative. As far as strength goes he may have been average considering his feats since HJ, but when it comes to brains, he's definitely on the clever side. And when it comes to brute...well, he's very malicious...considering all the drownings and murder in general. Honestly he's a well rounded villain. It's a shame the Erins axed him so soon.

Same reason as ShadowClan not being able to hunt on marshland even though their og territory was marshland: Warriors has never heard of 'continuity' before. Keep in mind that the clans haven't been in the original territories since the original series, generations ago. Because the second series was about the destruction of their territories and leaving, then making a new home by the lake. Cats like Cloudtail, Tawnypelt, etc, are now moving to or close to elder status. Also, ShadowClan's original territory was more described as very shady. The ground was softer, and cooled from all the shade and moss, and there was a bunch of oaks and pine trees. Even though it's in marshland and pine territory, there wasn't much talk about water? Maybe floods now and then, but they weren't literally swimming for their food. Not like RiverClan cats.

I noticed something odd with that Daisy scene. Squirrelflight thinks it was time she retired, but then goes "but what if a she-cat announces she's expecting kits??" I could be reading too much into this, but doesn't that suggest the nursery is currently empty? And yet Sorrelstripe was supposed to have already had her kits.
Wait, Root and Needle are newborns. That would make Bay and Myrtle the same age, meaning they should have been apprenticed in LS. That settles it. This is just another mistake in the allegiances.

SqH takes place 3 moons after TRS, which makes them 1 month old, or even slightly older depending on how far along Violetshine was at the end of AVOS (iirc she was already experiencing pregnancy symptoms like morning sickness so she must have been at least a few weeks along)

He only won a single fight without a handicap when he defeated Rain. Every other fight he was either losing(Onestar), only managed a draw(Onestar again), faced someone super weakened(Mistfeather), or had a whole team of cats with him(Needletail). Even then, he was unable to drown a starved Needletail by himself, needing Sleekwhisker to help out with that. Of all the times Onestar and Darktail clashed, at best they were evenly matched or an advantage to Onestar.

I guess he did mostly use mind games to get ahead I always imagined him as this big hulking cat, but maybe he's not like that after all

But this doesn't really change anything. Bay and Myrtle are still very close in age to Root and Needle according to the (probably incorrect) allegiances.

Even then, he was unable to drown a starved Needletail by himself, needing Sleekwhisker to help out with that. Of all the times Onestar and Darktail clashed, at best they were evenly matched or an advantage to Onestar. How does us only seeing the times he's fought = not a good fighter? Lol. Him fighting Rain with a handicap doesn't happen until later because he's the one that gave him that handicap in the first place. Rain literally blind sighted him and tried to kill him, but Darktail fought back, won and blinded him in one eye as punishment. He gave Needletail a choice, and most likely thought she'd choose them over Violetshine especially when she pretended she was going to kill her in the first place. Needletail herself says that he takes loyalty very seriously, and it's not a sense that he doesn't want to get his own paws messy, he's done it before, it's more so to test the loyalty of the cats he has under him. Making them kill their own kin and ex clanmates to test their loyalty to him and the Kin. When he's drowning her, he does it himself, it's just that Sleekwhisker is eager to always please him and help him, which isn't anything new. Not to mention she and Needle used to be best friends as well. Then while he's talking to Violetshine he has the other three torture Needletail to make Viletshine suffer as they speak about her "crimes" against him. He also speaks about how much faith and trust he had put into Needletail prior to all of this but then realized he was wrong because of how much she got involved with Rain, who was his rival. And after he gives Needletail a second chance, she pretends to go to kill Violetshine like ordered but then turns on Roach and Raven before the rest of them drown her. She literally goes down fighting, desperately, so that Violetshine could escape. With other situations it's literally not even him fighting to fight, but fighting to kill. Mistfeather would have ruined his plans so he killed him. Onestar is an age old leader and his father so he had a personal vendetta against him, and like Needletail, he was fighting for a reason and was desperate. I mean if we're going to deduce him to a "horrible fighter" just because of the cats we happened to see him kill on-screen, then that makes me wonder why no one takes jabs at Firestar for losing to an elderly Russetfur. And he's way more trained than Darktail, a leader for ages, and he loses to an elderly person that all Lionblaze had to do was touch to kill. Elders can fight. And when you're on death's door, you become desperate, no matter the circumstances. Being weakened, or older, really doesn't change how hard a cat can fight. Onestar is an experienced fighter and leader for ages, even if he was very old himself. If you're saying that Darktail is a bad fighter because his only feat was killing Onestar, that's like saying Onestar is a bad fighter despite his experience to lose to a rogue like Darktail.

His original description listed him as a golden tabby tom, but his new description lists him as a golden tabby kit with white splotches.
Though it being a mistake wouldn't surprise me considering Heathertail's kits became apprentices in Lost Stars, but she's not even listed as a queen here while Featherpelt is. Unless Applepaw and Woodpaw are adopted kits.

I completely forgot Sagenose was his mentor. >.< Looking at all the toms in SkC, but are my thoughts:
Hawkwing, Fidgetflake, Tree, Sparrowpelt, Macgyver, Dewspring, Sagenose, Harrybrook, Sandynose, Rabbitleap, Nettlesplash, Quailfeather and Gravelnose.
Tree is mates with Violetshine, Sparrowpelt is mates with Tinycloud, Nettlesplash is mates with Mintfur and Sandynose is mates with Plumwillow. Fidgetflake is a medicine cat. Gravelnose and Quailfeather are too young, I think. They were only apprentices three moons prior to the start of SqH. Though Gravelnose is supposed to be pretty old as well. So who knows, really. It's clearly not Hawkwing. Reedclaw is basically his adopted daughter, while Dewspring is Reedclaw's brother. Sagenose is Kitepaw's mentor, like I already said.
Hm. The only available toms to be Reedclaw's mate are Macgyver, Harrybrook or Rabbitleap. True, I want Harrybrook as Bellaleaf's mate, but... whoever it is will be stated in the books eventually. Kate fully admitted to knowing who Bellaleaf's mate, but she just won't tell us.

I wouldn't count out Gravelnose. He has been training since the end of DN, so he'd be nearing the of his apprenticeship when the kits were conceived. I personally don't like apprentices fathering kits, but we know it's happened.
Rabbitleap is Reedclaw's uncle. I pray to StarClan that they didn't forget that.
I really think it's Macgyver. He hasn't shown interest in anyone else. And they made that big deal about him being intact in HS. Why mention that if they didn't plan on him fathering kits?

Yeah, there's no question who his father is now. Who are you talking about? Molewhisker. He's the most popular choice for Sorrelstripe's mate. Baykit's update description makes it pretty obvious that he is the father. A brown and cream tom and a gold tabby and white kit? The descriptions are fairly similar and Molewhisker is one of the most eligible bachelors in TC atm.
