maybe an apprentice’s final assessment in order to become a warrior is some sort of mini journey, but with a few other apprentices from other Clans? despite the differences that may arise within the Clans throughout the moons, that “journey” would teach them all to work together with their neighboring Clanmates in the face of hardship.
Ooh, maybe very large issues and tensions rise between Clans at some point and they refuse to do the ceremony, but StarClan grows angry and one of the apprentice shows pays the price?
it’s not the best idea but i’m pretty tired at the moment so i’ll try to think of better things in the morning
edit: read through everything that everyone posted while my slow fingers typed this up. who knows where they’d go on said journey if they’re restricted to just the island. bestie probably just to scrap this haha |

Hi! Just browsing through various threads, and I couldn't help but throw a friendly suggestion. So, a common pattern leading into a natural disaster is that animals start to act out of charac ter. They relocate, flee, or act in ways that are not normal behaviors , normally timid, afraid or in rare cases agression. You can build up this big disaster by having the different clans realize that prey is slowly diminishihg. Or , word can spread that a common prey found in one territory is suddenly being found more commonly in a different territory. It could raise brows, and create theories , or with the more aggressive members outright accusing other clans of hunting on their territory. These are just possibilities ofc, based on how animals naturally act , move, relocate , and just space based on the incoming disaster. Just a food for thought.  |

If we were to use the apprentice test, which I LOVE the idea for, would they still do that when tensions between clans get high? Or would that only be before?

if we want to play with a hurricane or sometime hitting the island, maybe they all start moving to the upper forest? which would make the other clans think they were stealing prey? and make the upper forest clan think that prey was starting to thrive again? and that they were chosen by starclan to survive or something?

like i said, i imagine that even after tensions get high they’d be somewhat forced to continue on with the ceremony. Maybe the ceremony held some huge significance in the Clans’ past, and StarClan (or even the dark forest) grows angry when certain leaders are thinking about not doing the traditional final assessment |

hmmm - maybe one of the leaders says that they won't send [insert apprentice] to complete the ceremony, and starclan gets angry and causes the apprentice to get injured. not enough to be severe, just enough to push back their ceremony?
ofc this is just a thought and you all seem to be coming up with better ideas xD

maybe only one clan pulls their apprentices? and then that escalates tensions more?
edit: khale that's a killer idea. i like it. maybe they get injured and while some think it's just a coincidence the other clans are like "gotta keep the ceremony going or else"

Peng mentioned earlier that maybe a group of cats could be stuck on the other side of the bridge when the hurricane hits, and the apprentice ceremony would be a good reason they'd be over there? Only an idea tho! It would have to fit in with the rest of the time line which might not work out!
