So... apparently, a good nights sleep helps answer the question. We can use Cali as a setting since we're both familiar with the area. But we could also randomly scroll through google maps and pick a small community in another part of the country, similar to the situation Misty put us in originally. But we could also do Europe as a whole since public transportation makes it easy to excuse ourselves moving from place to place. So, after a good nights sleep, I'm leaning towards a Murder, arson, wrong place at the wrong time with a hint of blackmail. Lemme explain! (Rough sketch, came up with it last night, feel free to add and alter) What if a discontinued project, after it was shut down, cut from funding and ordered to cease and destroy all property was initiated. However, a certain group or circle decided not to follow orders and sought to finish the project through their own means.
The project is a concept of bringing a nonvisible variant to reality. In this case, like a ghost, or energy spike and any form of energy that cannot be physically held, or seen. Maybe this project, continuing with what left they could scavage, oddly enough they ended up using Clay since its a material that can both be expanded and hardened.
Maybe the clay is enough for these otherworldly beings to inherit and walk amongst the living. Course, they look like individuals walking in mud, but instead its clay. Initially, its excitement and motivation to have found a way to bring what's not tangible into reality. Then, they find out a few things about it. Especially how the entities inhabiting the clay bodies can transform the physical clay into just about anything, such as seeping through small gaps, window screens, etc. Somewhere down the line, this concept gets corrupted and now these individuals still working on the project, are now using these clay people* to steal. Initially local, then global.
Later, they discover that being inside the clay body can maybe possess people if it comes into contact with the individual. So maybe using this, they are going beyond stealing, to rewriting the industry to fit their image (the individuals behind the project), to their likes and interests etc. Along the way, they are forcing other businesses, companies, franchises, out of the industry, and instead of pushing for an agenda that will make the masses prefer the project handlers.
The cost of this is leading to potential murder, (like to replace one figure with another), fires to destroy the physical competition, and publicly surrendering (under influence of the clay people)
Since Clay is a difficult material to eliminate, maybe the goal to eliminate the clay people would be to burn them to the point that their physical bodies harden. (Kinda like how Clay Pottery is made), and then we have to shatter the hardened body and force the being inhabiting it out. (Then figure out how to destroy the energy later?) As for the blackmail/wrong place at the wrong time. It would be a means to bring these two together, loosely. But I do have a few a questions, and maybe its on discord, if so sorrrryyyy. lol Can I have a bit of Percival's background? Specifically his *role in society, and/or if* he owns a company, business, subsidy, organization or is connected to anything that could trip him if it goes down? Oooo! Okay, I like the concept you have outlined under the spoiler tag. Since Percival as an OC is pretty adaptable, really most any plot will work. And I can see that plot going places. The resolution I think can be improved a little so it's perhaps a bit more dramatic, but the mental image of Percival openly having to burn something just to get it to stop is priceless. So I like it. The setting can also be anywhere! Europe sounds fun, honestly. Haven't done a RP set in Europe in ages. We can always send them off traveling, of course. Percival and your lot stuck in a plane (a small space miles above the surface of the Earth) is also an wonderful mental picture with open possibilities. So if you have a preference, we can start there.  Background! Of course! I believe we talked about it through voice chat more than text, but I think I have it written somewhere. I'll just write a new set. Percival was changed somewhere after the fall of Rome but before, say, the 1600s. The woman who changed him is called Aliissa (or goes by Vermilion as well). However, Percival showed some strange characteristics soon after he was changed. It turned out that he was a rare vampire mutation - at a chance of about 1% - who instead of finding the idea of fire abhorrent and dangerous held a strange attraction and affinity to it. These vampires needed to be around fire almost as much as they needed blood to survive. Because of the danger they pose to humans and vampires alike, they are killed on sight. Percival clearly isn't dead, so that didn't happen. Instead, Aliissa made the choice (mistake) of keeping him alive because he showed additional strange signs of holding more control over himself in the presence of fire than other vampires like him. So on the condition that if he ever killed a soul because of his fires than she would hunt him down - and that he had to kill on sight any other vampires with the attraction to fire that he met - they were the first two to form what would turn into the Six Stars Organization (Or Dry Cleaning business, ha ha). Over the years, they picked up various other vampires and sometimes they traveled around with Percival and Aliissa and sometimes they didn't. Eventually, back in present day, there is a large network of vampires (and a handful of humans) who are aware that their goal is to hunt this 1% and protect the population from them. None of them other than Aliissa know Percival's nature of also being part of that 1%. Or at least they haven't said anything. Recently, Aliissa dropped out of Six Stars, leaving Percival the owner and leader while she's off as some important figure in whatever government I'm saying she got dropped in for this RP. This left Percival (from somewhere in Europe, real name isn't Percival, the 'I would really just like to get the work done' kinda guy. You know. XD You've met him), Clarinet (vampire from Russia, 'the woman in the chair'), Marcus (African American, Percival's partner, usually goes with him when out on the field. The 'good cop'), and Armando (Mexican-American, the teacher for the most part because he's very bad at working out other positions). They've all been around long enough that they have different skill sets and can switch to them depending on which have the most reach and 'being nosy without getting arrested' purposes. In this case, they have had temps as police officers, professors, newspaper reporters, government employees, secretaries, soldiers, and several others. So he does own several companies, mostly just so Seven Stars can trade off their front. There's the Dry Cleaning, the Restaurant (Armando is a goooood cook), the insurance company, and the small time publishers! Only two of them are Six Stars anything named (Six Stars Dry Cleaning and Six Stars Publishing). The others are just some generic name or some such. You want connections? That list is longer than my arm. How about just saying most major towns would probably think twice about saying no to them if they saw the sort of names backing them. XD If one of the main fronts when down and it looked purposeful in some way, then there would be ooooooh so many alarm bells. |

Yea , the resolution is rough. Mainly cause I woke up midway through! yes I dreamt this concept but yea , I was thinking about a way to utilize both of our characters, taboo abilities and turn it into a positive. I'm this case , percivals love for fire would help harden the clay, in order to shatter it. Then once the energy being is out of can either be excersiced (religious style), burnt with sunlight (cause sun is supposed to be the purest of light), or flat out devoured. What if percival and row's enemies got a hold of this discontinued project. Started modifying it to target everything that is a part of our two boys' worlds. Using the public eye , the opponents look to, - Defame - Shatter credibility - Drive out industry to the floor - Frame the big figures who represent our characters' industries , of murder, and fraud - And reshape the public's perception , so that these industries clung by vampires are the "real threat" oppressing humanity right under their noses. - And reveal to the world , that the individuals responsible for creating such iconic names are not human , or "individuals trying to make themselves gods" It would be a battle of perception. The enemy would be teaming up , and using these flat experiments to go past their limits. Burning competition ,places, and attempted murder and trying to shift the blame as a conspiracey towards the connections our two boyos hold? Sorry for being all over the place. Possible, possible! Eyes the devoured option because now I'm just curious about what would devour it.That sounds like a good idea though! So basically both groups (Row's and Percival's) get discredited at the same time. They don't really want to work together, but it's kind of 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend' style of thing. So they both have a common enemy, they don't know who it is yet, but they have to pool remaining resources and allies together to clear both their names, reputations, and possibly so far as their species' reputation. It seems like a good start. We have motivation for them to work together. How they meet could be simply noticing that 'hey ... half of these discredited corporations and people aren't ones I actually know of. Who are they???' and then just finding each other through that. What about the people doing the blackmailing and so forth? Should we think about anything regarding them just yet or figure it out after a bit of a start? Auransky |

Yea, they could always meet as a means of trying to assess the sudden outbreak of discrediting , lies etc. ALso! What if their meeting , was a continuation of the two individually trying to meet with other ceos,cfos etc but every time the meeting days were to happen with other industry heads, the meetings would be canceled due to the individual going missing , or forgetting to social pressures. So like these two meeting would be the first successful meeting , of meeting with individuals outside their already existing circles. When they do meet, will they recognize each other? Will it be like a first time meeting ? Is it middle ground rumors of one another? Is it going to be a "I wasn't expecting you" type of moment. Yea, I get we're going for the enemy of my enemy is my friend , but I thought I'd ask regardless, lol. As the initial meeting , we could also use the scene to build up the intro. Frustrations about the situation , listening to the background , people talking about dummies , leaks etc. Just to tense the scene As for an enemy , I'm thinking about sliding in Ryan. Ooof Dia. You put a dilemma in front of me. On the one hand, the suggestion that this isn't Row and Percival's first meeting is very tempting. But also, the introductions would be wild if they didn't know about each other.
I'm leaning toward the "Didn't expect to see you here". I mean ... Percival and Rowlin weren't exactly friends before. XD I doubt that's changed.
Go with whatever bad guy feels right! I don't really have one in mind.

Though , if you pick someone who works for the company , could I throw a recommendation ? Maybe er- Selene? At this point they could be co-owners. But still trying to retrust each other after say.. If we play our cards right, we can do these two when they know each other as well.
I'm leaning toward they've had at least one previous meeting before, just for maximum tension on the second meeting. Agree? Disagree?
I'm using Percival, with subcharacters which might sometime become more important in Clarinet, Aliissa, Marcus, and Armando. Who will likely not turn up all at once or ever be in the same room together. XD Just ... all around. They're Percival's main circle.
Also, I'm off school, so my replies will no longer have these lengthy gaps!

Just imagine, all the fights taking place at iconic spots and areas we've all been too. Might as well Trademark California since all three of us are from the same state! LOL But yea, if you want to settle the RP in Cali, I don't have objections to it. It was either Cali or all of Europe. But with Cali there is a ton of shenanigans we can do. I'm good either way with Cali or Europe. Since mintedstar/fur also stated she's cool with either, then it seems like Cali is an agreeable choice! As for Selene inky , I was thinking; maybe Selene still holds the Covenant (don't remember if that was the name of the alliance), for Vamps in the area. But more recently we can say she was added as a co-owner to the feathers aka hunters. They could be trying to say-move in together, or trying to reconnect after say, everything? Also if we pick Cali, we can make the meeting place Starbucks! Because that's everywhere! Even businesses and contractors use it to conduct business! |
