Tori smirked. I call that karma, she signed, then headed toward the front door.

Now, we're not going to be mean, Tori scolded ok once she had the door unlocked. After all, she had a hard night fighting demons.

I know, I was trying to be sarcastic, Tori stated. She held the door open for him, sure that he was going to be coming inside.

She smiled slightly and nodded to his statement. Knowing the signs were a huge part, but facial expressions were very important in portraying the tone of a statement. Have a seat. Relax.

Tori sat down on the couch beside him after removing her shoes by the door. Before sitting, she had picked up her laptop so she could log on to her school's website to get her homework instructions. Well, I need to get to work on a report that's due at the end of the semester. I needed to choose an era and do a research paper about country of city of my choosing during that time. Not too difficult, by it's just a lot of research.

I haven't. I'm torn between feudal Japan and Victorian Era Britain. I just don't know which one would be more interesting, Tori answered.

Sounds like Fedual Japan is the winner, Tori said. Tell me all you know. Just keep in mind I can only type so fast.

Beginning might be easier, Tori said. She pulled up a new Word document and got ready to type. Whenever you're ready.

Tori took as good of notes as she could. It was hard when he went off on tangents, but eventually she had a sizable amount of information to work with. She set her laptop on the coffee table for a moment and stretched her arms in front of her. You want anything to drink? she asked. They had been sitting there for a while, and she felt like having an excuse to get up and move around.

With a nod, Tori disappeared into the kitchen, returning a moment later with two glasses of grape juice. She handed Ren one before reclaiming her seat.

Tori took a moment before answering. She was a bit tired of typing at the moment and wanted a break, but she wasn't sure what to say about the second option. You mean other than the demon dog we apparently befriended?

Tori just gave him a confused look. And do you know I have no idea what that is? She returned.

I wouldn't say I used it. It just sort of happened. I don't even know what I did that made it happen, Tori said. Besides, why can't we use it?

I don't know why. I mean, both of my parents are very much human, and none of them ever showed signs of having some magical abilities, Tori explained.
