Duuude, I'd love to do an entire Secret Santa thing for the entire forums. It sounds like a lot of fun-- plus being able to give things digitally like your list would be cool.
I think we can pull it off! We'd just have to get a good list of participants going and find a way to match everyone up (probably like a randomizer or pull names from a hat.) Do you think it's still too early to do a poll & see who's interested?

Not at all! My discords are already getting up the interest lists and the various adoptable sites are already dusting off their threads. I think if we do an interest check now it might be a good plan to get everyone in the spirit and start thinking up some stuff. Also I think it might be really awesome in case some others can add to my list before the holidays, just so people who aren't artists or writers aren't panicking at the last minute.  As it is, I think roughly if we do an interest check now then people will have about a month and 2 weeks to mull over gift ideas and some fraction of that to actually stalk their giftee's posts to try and figure out what they like. |

I'll start an interest check either tonight or later this week. I currently have 2 projects going (working on the 1st right now), so I'm hoping they won't last over 3-4 days.

Also, seeing that PB's poll/survey thing is useless asf, I'll probably link to an off-site one either through Google or some other poll site. I don't wanna flood members with threads.

Good luck on your projects! Hope they go well!  Pfft. Yeah, Google would probably work best since you can input things. Only other one I know is Strawpoll. But yeah ... Proboards killed the polls. I've been trying to do a poll story for ages and it's 10xs harder thanks to ProBoards. |

Strawpoll is okay, I'm gonna use Google Forms so I can keep track of the results. PB and their polls... it sucks.
I can only think of 2 questions to ask; if people are interested & if they're willing to participate. Am I missing anything?

Not that I can think of! Sounds like all the questions that are needed for the time being. Maybe an 'extra comments' section in case anything else turns up? Or maybe just leave that to the main topic to do.

WCO (warrior cats online) & on 2 boards on ProBoards’ support site. if I remember correctly, I think WCO was the one that wanted to affiliate with us? Not sure but I’ve posted two ads there.

It looks like WCC is locked or so it says at the bottom of the page. I'm not sure why it's locked but it won't allow me to create an account and try to affiliate with them.
Gonna try WCO and see if they're open to an official affiliation thing. originally I was just posting on a thread but might as well go a step further and see.
I try to poke around but I get distracted easily and forget to do things that should be done. Ooops.

True! I'd possibly make it less the main feature and more off to the side? And maybe a font that resembles that on the Warrior books?

Hum. On the one hand, the top looks cute. On the other hand, the bottom is a classic.
I'm leaning toward the bottom? Since as you said the nostalgia of the old forums is a very big "selling point" on our end. Plus it's a classic header. Wonder if there's a way to incorporate them both at all. But it would probably be a bit too busy.

Honestly, I was looking through these and they seemed interesting, so I'm glad a lot of them seem worth a shot.
Possibly advertising through Disboards could be worth a shot. But I also noticed some discords which are just Warriors related. Might allow ads or promotions, but I'm not sure and would have to check on some which I found.
Yesssss. So many with beautiful coding!
I may look through Discords later this month perhaps, huuuuum.

Apparently they had/have a promotional tumblr page. Just saying what they have, not suggesting just stating. But I did like one users suggestion of writing short stories based off popular RPs/Fan Clans and posting them to various writing sites with a link back as credit. AKA 'Inspired by the ____ Clan at ____'. Which ... functions as credit and less as advertisement to my mind. They suggested AO3, which I could totally do ... if I was a member of any clans. But I CAN do it for some OTRPs (with permission, even though I do have some of my own RPs. :3 ) And there was another thing but I need to go back and look into that. Any verdict on the mini forum-wide event? Sand Sorry to bug you, I was just curious. |
