Ooh sure. We wanna do before the parade or something different? Training, wandering the tribute center the night before the games, etc.
Also, how cool would it be if the Capitol had the tradition of hosting a tribute dance like right after the parade? No harsh feelings and everyone's in clumsy but freaking gorgeous outfits xD

On a whim, Ari had taken the elevator down to the Training Center. He couldn't sleep, hadn't eaten since the day before, and hadn't shown up for training that day, either. Maybe it was best if he at least got a few plants stored into his memory before tomorrow.
Nevertheless, Ari found himself passing the memorization station. The expansive garden near the end the the center lured him closer. Its familiar scents reminded him of Seven. Of home. He paced around, mind wandering selfishly from the task at hand - which would be to prepare for survival tomorrow.
Tomorrow. Less than 24 hours from now, he would be in the arena. Possibly even dead. His sister, along with the rest of District Seven, would be watching him and Amadrya intently. What were they thinking? Were they hopeful, knowing that Seven had a decent chance this year? He was thinking of Amadrya, of course. She had many aspects going for her in the Capitol which would transfer over to the arena nicely.
Just breathe, Ari told himself. Survive today, you can think about the next bridges when you get to them. He closed his eyes, melting into his surroundings. Birds chirped, biologically engineered flowers glowed beautifully. He wondered if any bioluminescent plants would be incorporated into the arena this year. With some years they had been used as simply a background. Their complexity and charm contrasted nicely as tributes slaughter each other with only the knives they had gathered from the Cornucopia. Other years, however, bioluminescence was a sign of a deadly poison.
Ari had learned that much, at least. Over the past week he had studied past Games attentively. Noting how past victors had won and what types of deaths were common. There goes not thinking about tomorrow, he thought, opening his eyes and walking towards the dim glow of the petals behind him.
