Hahahahaha we are perfectly sane thank you very much *sips tea*
Haha we can totally do that if we wanted
Because I have my characters set up I may start working on reaping stuff for them cos I wanna get a feel for personalities and see if anyone volunteered or anything. I read actually on a page that the reapings in Career districts work differently, but I might just stick with the normal names being drawn thing if it’s okay just for ease)

[ I don't get out until May 24th and I think that's late yeah I need to think about how I want my charries to be I only have a very very basic outline for them right now... I'm pretty sure none of them would've volunteered.. and I need to make sure that they aren't too similar to the HG characters I have in my story rip ]]

24th May is almost 2 months earlier than the usual ending time for British schools
Yeah I'm trying to decide whether to have Amadrya volunteer? Cos she's my tough badass girl but I feel like if she saw a little kid being reaped...she'd have a soft spot and volunteer for them. Plus it shows that she cares a lot more than she's letting on]

I can totally see Amadrya volunteering... thing is would anyone volunteer for a random little kid(am I just selfish :-()? I feel like they would have to have some sort of history or connection but idktjwiwt ]]

{Yeah I don't know if she'll fully know the kid, but I think she'll at least recognise them cos that'll hit her somehow. Like she recognises this girl and knows her family but they're not like friends or anything, but the girl is like 12 and Amadrya doesn't want the kid's family to suffer}

Amadrya Darrow The fire-eyed maid of smoky war
This was Amadrya's final year. She just had to get through one more reaping, and then she could live her life and never have kids. She would never dream of putting a child through the reapings and the Games, no kid should have to endure it.
She was the last of her family to still be young enough for the Games. Her mother had died in childbirth and then her father died when she was ten, and so she'd been taken in by her uncle and his three sons, who were all older than her. The youngest of her cousins had done his final reaping the year previously.
And so the girl, who at this point was just pleased to have a day off from her work in the forest, had gone alone to the reaping for the first time. Her first time without a boisterous older cousin cracking jokes, which always made her feel more at home. She'd gotten changed into a green tunic (she didn't wear dresses unless it was absolutely necessary or she felt in the right mood for it, which was very rarely) and done a loose braid looping around her head, leaving the rest of her hair down.
She'd followed the usual routine, letting them prick her finger to take her blood, joining the other young people of the district. She stood at the very back of the crowd on the girls' side of the square, looking down at the 12-year-olds at the front and remembering when she'd had her first reaping. Her oldest cousin had been attending his final reaping, and he'd put Amadrya at ease by telling her a big tough girl like her - though at age 12 she had been a little scrap of a thing - didn't have anything to worry about anything. Then he'd disappeared to the back of the male side of the square.
But now the girl stood and watched the stage, as the Capitol representative for her District headed over to the glass bowl on Amadrya's side of the stage.
'Ladies first', Amadrya mouthed sarcastically, in perfect time with the words as they left the woman's mouth. She'd done this enough times to know how it went.
But she never could have predicted what happened next.
"Aspen Kaine"
Amadrya knew the Kaines, they were family friends. Aspen's father was a friend of Amadrya's uncle, and Amadrya and her cousins had been friends with Aspen's older brother when they were kids. He was seventeen, and so when Amadrya followed the sound of a cry that sounded like some kind of wounded animal, she saw Oren Kaine in the crowd of boys. She couldn't imagine how he must be feeling, knowing that he couldn't do anything for his sister. He couldn't volunteer to take her place, only a girl could do that. He looked helpless, scared, grieving like he had already lost his sister. Which, if nobody volunteered for Aspen, he basically had. Twelve-year-olds simply didn't win the Hunger Games. And Oren could do nothing to do about the situation.
But Amadrya could.
She hated nothing more than helplessness, it was the thing that scared her most in the world. Being vulnerable was one thing, but being stuck in a situation you couldn't change, being vulnerable and not being able to do anything about it, that was terrifying to the girl. And God knew Amadrya had far better chances and far less to lose.
It wasn't fair, it simply was not fair to send a kid to their deaths, to let a family lose a child like that. Amadrya couldn't allow it, she couldn't just sit and watch it happen. Because that didn't make her any better than the Capitol woman standing up there, beckoning Aspen onto the stage. Pretending that she didn't know that Aspen didn't stand a chance.
And the crowd was parting and a very scared, very small twelve-year-old, red-haired and doe-eyed, began to take a few shaky steps towards the stage.
"I volunteer as tribute!"
The mass of children parted once again for Amadrya as Aspen was pulled rapidly back into the crowd, relieved tears slipping silently down her face. She still seemed in shock, though Amadrya was willing to bet that nobody was more in shock than her.
She knew her uncle and her cousins would forgive her for this decision, she thought as she took the steps up to the stage. They'd understand when they talked to her after all of this. They would tell her that she could win; she could handle an axe, she was strong. There was no reason she couldn't come back alive, in theory. In practice, she knew the odds. But she had to try.
"And what's your name, dear?" asked the Capitol woman. Amadrya couldn't help but think that her makeup looked terrifying up close as she shoved a microphone at her.
She only needed a second to compose herself, stand a little taller. Square her shoulders, lift her chin a little. She had to project confidence and build up a wall around herself. If she let herself be afraid or let her real feelings shine through the cracks even a little bit everything would fall apart.
"Amadrya Darrow."

I’m planning on writing each one, whether they are shorter or more elaborate. Like Carlo, I probably won’t do as much? He’s probably dead really early on, or maybe Alessandro will? One of them will be alive for a while....ish. I already like both so it’s hard to decide XD. Robin will probably die pretty early on? Not Bloodbath early most likely, but...early?)
