I suck at hiding secrets, so the chapter after next may address it, or maybe a few chapters yet.
However, I may be writing something about it closer to time.
I originally planned on making next chapter an Everest view, and I might still, but before I return to Holly perspective I’m doing something with Amadrya and the position she’s now put in.
The chapter after that is rebellion.
And after, we’ll get that reveal.)

For Maddie I’d say she stands with arms crossed, she has quite straight posture, her speech is mid-volume since she’s neither loud nor soft spoken, her nervous tic is probably tapping her fingers or general fidgeting. She makes... I don’t know a normal amount of eye contact. In a group conversation she’s more of a listen from the sidelines and input things occasionally kind of person if it’s a bigger group, but if it’s a smaller group she’ll be right next to people and talking. She’s either a crossing her arms or propping up against the wall kind of person. She probably nods in greeting more often than anything else and she clears her throat to get attention. Her footsteps, I don’t really know, probably relatively light footsteps. As for her tell for lying, probably touching her ear or something like that.
Burton I feel like he definitely talks with his hands, again straight posture with a normal voice volume and normal eye contact. His nervous tic is jogging his leg. In a group conversation he’s always right there talking to people. I’d say he’s a hugger when he greets someone. His footsteps are fairly average I’d say. To get attention he probably clears his throat as well. When he lies I’m not sure? Maybe he flushes or blinks or clears his throat)

For my characters:
Holly:
1: Her smiles are often faked and forced if she shows them, but she doesn’t smile, it’s more of a smirk. More genuine ones can only be brought on by those she truly loves, like Amadrya, Burton, Halina, Ari and the other survivors. Her genuine one tends to be calm and tranquil, with a hint of mischief hidden in the quirks of her lips.
2: Holly is skilled at reading others, especially those she considers ‘enemies’, she’s manipulative to a degree, but is often too apathetic to execute her plans and get others to do what she wants. When she is ready to, she picks up of the defensive or offensive commentary, gathering small details and adding them together. Her tick for lies is fear. Her lies are surprisingly easier to see, she’s secretive about her family, so anytime she is asked, she commented with ‘I don’t want to talk about it’ or something similar, she never claims ‘nothing’. What gives away her lies is her tone and failure of keeping eye contact, instead she tends to look just beside the face, at an opposing wall. Her fingers tap as well.
3: Calm and steady, not proud, and not lazy, just laid-back and simple. She stands short, and never attempts to make herself something she isn’t unless she’s truly proud of something she’s done.
4: She’s very verbal, Either in her voice or even in the way she acts and her expressions. She’s not loud, though, she’s loud enough to be heard and nothing more. Her voice is soft, to an extent, with a deadly sharpness to it, especially when angered.
5: Outwardly, when nervous or anxious, she appears blank with a simple tapping of a finger, and nothing gets to her past this. In less dramatic sequences, she just taps her finger or rubs her fingers over her opposing wrist to feel her pulse and feel the rhythm. Often, when it’s worse, she places herself in other situations or memories to detach herself from her true surroundings.
6: Holly makes plenty of eye contact, especially with those she loves and those she hates, she has a point, she plans to get it across. Though she tends to not keep this contact when anxious, instead keeping to herself and ignoring others.
7: No matter the group, Holly usually stands to the side, and gives feedback when asked, or when she feels a sarcastic comment can be given. She’s snarky, not shy.
8: If she’s not too much into her topic of choice when speaking, her hands usually are crossed or at her sides, when angered, a lot of hand communication comes into play, especially with death threats.
9: Soft, they usually can’t be heard. She’s a very careful person, often cowardly at times while attempting to have a brave image. Physical pain won’t bother her too much, but she never truly lets anyone in(except a select few). Thus, she likes to walk quietly, she doesn’t like being noticed, and keeps a constant control over the sound and pleasure of even walking,
10: Often it’s a glare or nothing at all. Perhaps a slight skim of the eye in the newcomers direction, otherwards, she keeps to herself or those she knows well. With those she knows, she never really uses pleasantries. With those she hates, it’s usually used as a form of mocking.
11: Speaking, she’s not one to patiently wait for the attention, she’ll but in when she feels the need, but other than her quips, this isn’t common. She’s held off and silent a lot, except sarcasm at others. Though, with some, she’ll banter back and forth, and this needs no call for attention, one finishes, the other starts. I’m doing one for Arlo, and maybe for Mal because this was really unique to do for her and built muse.) |

Oh that was so cool I feel like I know Holly better now
Also her calling them survivors made me think of so many things. Okay honestly but things that would give me life after the story of the fic is over:
1) a scene where they’re all grown up and the survivors of the fic story finally all meet again after many years
2) weddings/kids/happiness for the couple(s) that lived
3) just happiness for our kids after the fic)

Alessandro(Arlo):
1: He doesn’t smile. He grins flirtatiously and that’s about it. But if he did smile(very rarely), it would be charming and unusually soft for such a Stoney personality.
2: He can’t tell when someone’s lying to save his life, despite his mother’s chagrin. He can tell some clues to look for, but for such a career, he has a certain air of nativity, hence why he truly fell for Macaria’s charm. His own lies don’t give much away, a tick of them being his lack of a grin or charming fake smile, and his lack of interest in what he’s lying about. He doesn’t really lie that much, though.
3: His posture is always proud, never relaxed, and slightly menacing as well. He muscular and he isn’t afraid to show it to anyone. He is tall as well, and see this to tower above others, thus creating a feeling of superiority for himself. When no one’s watching, he tends to calm a bit, stand more natural, but it always has an air of pride to it. He never let’s anyone see he’s impressed, or tries not to. He acts stoic, and Stoney in stance in attitude.
4: When he speaks, he’s loud, he makes sure his voice is heard when he wants it to be. He’s often only slightly engaged in a conversation unless he likes the topic, and even then he only talks in relation to the games or to survival. When he agrees with someone else, or notices he was wrong about something, he usually quits talking.
5: Rubbing his neck, or clasping his hands are both things that he does. Either that or punching stuff and that’s not really an everyday occurrence.
6: Overly close if he wants to be intimidating, or if they intimidate him. He uses his size and weight to show his prowess. He thinks he’s a leader, so he doesn’t converse simply like others would, he only gives input to steer others to his train of thought and why he’s obviously right and not them.
7: Minimal amount, not a lot, but not a little. He tends to get across his tough guy act, and that’s about it.
8: As sassy as it sounds, he sometimes talks with a hand on his hips, or both. Other times, his hands are crossed or clasped, or he’s speaking with them. These are, however, rarer times then the other.
9: You would think for a career, they would be soft. But being a tall and strong man has downsides at time, he’s not a giant-like loud, but he’s not exactly agile either. He’s slightly loud, but more moderate than one would expect of him.
10: If it’s a girl, usually it’s some flirty line or wink or wiggle of his eyebrows. It it’s a girl like Amadrya, it’s a glare or nod. If it’s like Holly, he doesn’t even act like he sees them. It depends on how strong the other person may be. Basically, if he was on better terms with Everest, it would be a bro-hug.
11: Clearing his throat, or stepping closer to the one he wants to talk to. He’s intimidating, or wants to be so, he wants everyone to stop when he speaks. If they can’t, and he doesn’t have mutual respect with/for them, then he interrupts them. |

Ahhh I’m so glad you thought they fit. Honestly it was sometimes hard to see them in domestic situations and having... you know... normal petty worries XD But yeah the Burton/Holly one was fun. What a power couple honestly haha
