"But he can see them too, so I don't get it. Maybe I'm just going crazy?" Whisp suggested nervously, a hint of seriousness hidden underneath that joking tone. If Flask and I can see them, why can't anybody else? Is he insane too? the tabby thought wryly. "No, I can't be crazy, right?"

Aki shrugged, stopping underneath a thick, unusually green tree. She took in the garden's features with a content look. "Raran and I were just looking for a den. We saw this place and thought it might be good, but the twolegs come here every so often to take care of it," she explained halfheartedly, not really seeing the humans as a threat. "They've seen us before but they never do anything, so I guess it's kind of just a silent understanding."Bronco gave her a look of uncertainty. "I wouldn't trust any Twolegs," he warned. "You can never be sure of what they'll do next. They're unpredictable." The tabby tom shuddered in distaste. He looked around the area, scanning the garden for any of the two-legged creatures. "You have a brother?" asked the tom, remembering what the she-cat had told him earlier. "That must be fun." The tabby's tail flicked the air. "I never had any littermates."

"You seem to have a gift unlike no one else," said the black-and-white she-cat fiercely. "It may be crazy, but it might help us in the end." Crow couldn't imagine having such a gift herself, but it seemed to be more of an advantage than anything. So long as nothing bad came of it, it would be fine.

Ophelia & Calypso | 《Kᥲιrσʂ》
"Oh," she answered softly. "He's crazy if he wants live in the city." She had to suppress a shudder than went down her spine at the thought. She and Calypso had grown up as street-dwellers and had hated every second of it. Mean cats, vicious dogs, dangerous monsters all came together in one place there. After moving into the forest, Ophelia would never trade her new home from her past one. However, Taro, Kito, and their other siblings had Snake to deal with here and she could understand the want to leave him behind.
"If he doesn't come back, maybe he's taking shelter from the storm?" Ophelia suggested. It wasn't a crazy idea; she would wait the rain out if she was wandering the forest.

Giving Crow a grateful smile, she curled up and glanced at the steadily darkening sky. "I wonder where Flask is gonna go after the storm."

Kito nodded slowly, understanding Taro wouldn't leave them. "I'm sure you're right, he wouldn't have put his plan into motion without telling us, let alone actually doing it," he sighed, gaze distant as he watched Snake angrily leave the leaders' den and exit the camp. "What on earth is he doing?"

"What do you mean by that?"Flask asked, tilting his head."Can't say that I have anywhere to go,not until the rain stops and the ghost cat comes back." A pleading look suddenly replaced the dull expression on the she-cat's face. If he stayed, he might be able to help the rogue group. "You can help us...we have food, and you won't be alone. Please," Oaka meowed quietly, her eyes wide as she spoke up to him. "I-I'm not so sure that's a good idea."Flask responded."Your leader doesn't seem to want to let me stay here long term. And that other tom,the one who looks angry about everything, didn't look too pleased when he saw me...."His voice trailed off.

"Not really, he's kind of brash sometimes..." she mumbled, visibly drooping as she spoke of Raran. He never was as fun or friendly as Bronco. Bronco raised an eyebrow at the she-cat. He sort of understood her feelings; growing up as a young cat in the city, though he'd never had any littermates, there had been cats his age he couldn't seem to get along with. The tabby tom gave a sigh. "I lived far away before I joined the rogues," he meowed, a faraway look in his eyes as he spoke of his past. "I couldn't really understand the ways of the other cats. They didn't really think before they made their choices. Eventually I left and I ended up here." Forgotten memories reappeared in his mind as he told briefly of his life before he'd joined the rogues.

Giving Crow a grateful smile, she curled up and glanced at the steadily darkening sky. "I wonder where Flask is gonna go after the storm."Crow had the same question herself. She had to admit, it would be cruel to simply force the tom to leave after the storm when he'd just now been settled—well, kind of—into the camp. Though she wasn't a fan of outsiders, she could still empathize with Flask. The tom was clearly no threat to the group, even if Snake didn't yet realize it. The she-cat's eyes gave away her concern as she spoke. "Well…we can't really know for sure where he'll end up," she admitted. "Maybe if Snake will see sense, he might be able to stick around." Realizing she probably shouldn't get Whisp's hopes up about the outsider tom, she added, "Though that's a slim chance, mind you." The she-cat couldn't help but purr in amusement.

Ophelia & Calypso | 《Kᥲιrσʂ》
Ophelia followed Kito's gaze to where she saw Snake stalking out of the rogue group's camp. She nearly shook her head in exasperation when she remembered that it hurt to do that, so instead she voiced her disdain. "Who knows," she sighed, readjusting her position in her nest in another attempt to distract from her pain. It was beginning to return as a sharp, stabbing sensation in her wounded eye; her other cuts just stung now. Finally, she set her head down, too weary to fight the pain. Beside her, Calypso stirred, raising her head with eyes blurry from sleep. She was surprised to see Kito there, next to her sister; she wondered how long he had been here. "Have you been here long?" She meowed quietly to the tom, hoping not to disturb her sister, whose eyes were now closed.

The she-cat looked sympathetic as Bronco spoke of his past, a small smile on her face. "You were an alleycat?" Aki asked curiously. She'd heard of such cats, but she herself had never been to a city. The cream-furred molly had been a barncat up until two moons ago, when it had burned down.

Whisp let out an amused purr, knowing how stubborn Snake could be. She didn't like it when he was so angry, but she couldn't just hate him. He was her father. That's just not how her brothers felt. "Sometimes I wonder why Smoke and Shadi still have him as a leader. I mean, I know those two formed the group and Snake was the first to join, but I honestly think you'd be better in these kinds of situations..." she rambled, half to herself. The younger molly hadn't mentioned that her mother had been there when Snake joined as well, she just didn't want to talk about her at that point.

Oaka looked suddenly fearful, her eyes wide when he rambled. Her fur had bristled slightly, but other than that, she remained still as stone. The molly, after a few seconds of breathing slowly, returned to her calm and statue-like demeanor. "But they haven't heard of what you can do. If you were allowed to, would you?" she asked, a monotone sound in her voice.

"Sometimes it's good to have cats like him around," she mewed. "Snake is a good fighter, but has never been the best thinker. And besides, I don't think I'm a leader type…" Crow's voice trailed off. She was half lying to herself; when she'd first joined soon after the group was formed, the black-and-white she-cat had hoped inwardly that Smoke and Shadi would pick her instead, but Snake had won them over. Looking back on it now, perhaps that had been the wrong choice… Blinking and sending herself back into reality, Crow flicked her tail dismissively sideways. "I'm going to go talk to Smoke about this," she mewed to Whisp. "Maybe we can negotiate something about Flask." Or about Snake and his outbursts, she silently added, turning and padding off to the leaders' den.

Lost in his memories, the tom meowed, "Unfortunately, yes, but the city is no place for our kind." The tom somberly shook his head. "Twolegs have changed this world in ways unimaginable. The city is for them only. Most cats there are doomed to die, hit by their monsters or wounded in traps." The tabby tom hadn't noticed his fur bristling in anger before; he relaxed the spikes of fur around his neck, taking a deep breath to calm himself.

Whisp nodded happily, honestly hoping the calico tom would be able to stay. Sure, it was another mouth to feed, but Flask knew so much about things the rogues had never even dreamed of. Curling up in her nest, the she-cat closed her eyes in an attempt to rest. *** Smoke stirred restlessly in his sleep, a strange expression plastered onto his face as he adjusted himself every so often. The tom had spoke of his dreams to Shadi, but never anyone else. It would worry them too much.
Shadi watched her co-leader with a frown, glad to look away as she noticed Crow approaching. The she-cat tiredly smiled to the bicolor molly approaching, rising to meet Crow at the entrance of the small den. "G'evening, is something wrong?" she purred quietly as to not wake Smoke.

Aki's eyes had widened slightly as the tom seemingly became agitated, although relaxing slightly upon him calming himself. She couldn't imagine how hard life had been when twolegs were the dominant creatures in his home. "Well, at least you're here now!" she purred optimistically, shouldering the tom with playful intent. "There was an older couple of twolegs that lived on the farm, but they didn't mind us. I can't remember exactly, but I think they were happy that we ate the mice. Oh, man, so many mice," the molly reminisced with a longing look. The frail frame about her suggested that she once had access to easy food, but had never learned how to search for it in the wild. It would've been so easy to push her over with a single paw a moon ago. However, she and her brother had found new and easier ways of finding food. It wasn't honest work, but it was enough to keep them alive.

At least he now had a better home, and now he had someone to call a friend. The tom purred at Aki's happy-go-lucky attitude; he couldn't help but wish he had the same good outlook about life. Looking up at the darkening sky, the tom realized a lot of time had passed since they'd arrived. "I think we should head back," he meowed to the she-cat. "The cats back at my camp might start to wonder where I am, and we have a long walk home." Bronco gave a last look at the garden below; the sun was setting and breaking through the clouds, and though a light mist of rain still fell, golden light still reflected dully on the rocks and cast long shadows down on the stone floor of the garden. Admittedly a bit reluctant to leave, Bronco turned and headed back up the rocky slope.

Crow felt hesitant to interrupt the calmness of the den, but she knew what had happened was an important matter. Taking a deep breath, the she-cat meowed, "This might not be my position to speak on, but a bit ago Snake seemed upset about the presence of the outsider in our camp. He lashed out when I tried to explain—more than usual. What will happen to the outsider should be discussed." Crow sounded more authoritative than she meant to be as she spoke, but Snake had admittedly put her off a lot earlier; the she-cat couldn't help but feel angry at his senseless rage. Even a leader had no right to lash out at one of his own in such a way. The bi-color she-cat sheathed and unsheathed her claws anxiously as she awaited Shadi's response; Smoke didn't appear awake, and she'd been meaning to talk to him most. Earlier he'd mentioned Snake's strange behavior, so she felt he might understand her point more than Shadi would.

He was growing more anxious as the time passed on; if he didn't get back to camp soon, the other rogues would most likely realize he was off on more than just a casual hunt. The sun had already done its rounds in the sky; it would be nightfall soon. Was it really safe to be so far from camp, in an unfamiliar place, to top it off, when night fell? Bronco guessed Crow and Smoke suspected him enough as it is, having seen him exchanging words, friendly ones, even, with the outsider she-cat.

She noticed the anxious look on his face, quite possibly due to him being nervous about being back so late. The creamy molly gave him a reassuring smile before catching up, her ears perked forward. She reluctantly glanced up at Bronco, a sad look clouding her gaze, before she looked forwards once more and began walking once again.
