♡ Dreisten ♡ High King Nothri & High Queen Asa Mistmane
Dreisten consists mostly of tundra flatlands and low, jagged mountains. The landscape is cold year-round, at least by the standards of southern nations, though natives would of course consider the midsummer months (ranging ~60°F) quite warm. Despite its coastal geography, which would suggest that it is a seafaring kingdom, Dreisten has a very limited navy, mainly due to the fact that the sea near the coast is frozen throughout much of the year. Instead, Dreisten deals primarily in meats, furs, and livestock, and is known in particular for two creatures: the hardy sheep that provide Dreisten's superb wool, and the sled dogs that they use for transportation across the snowy tundra, and which are so dear to the people of Dreisten that most consider their dogs a member of their family. The people of Dreisten- called Dreisi- are primarily herding nomads who known to be hardy and strong, as well as able warriors. Due to the fact that it is in the open with few geographical defenses and no nearby allies, the entire shore and border of Dreisten is heavily protected. This, and the prevalence of predators in the mountains and tundra who will prey on travelers, ranches, and their herds, nearly every citizen, male or female, trains with some kind of weapon from a young age. This has lent to Dreisten's reputation as being a well-defended country despite having little navy or standing military. Physically, Dreisi are notable for their pale appearance, with light hair of blondes, light reds, and even white or silver, as well as very pale eyes and skin so light that it is sometimes pure white. The Dreisi look as though they came from the snow itself, something many foreigners find exotic and sometimes disconcerting. Dreisten makes a habit of keeping to themselves and remaining uninvolved in external wars and disputes. They are interested in preserving their trade and their borders, and what the rest of the continent does is the rest of the continent's problem. That said, in wars of morality they will sometimes lend support to the side the feel is right, but will usually not become directly involved in combat, not least in part because it is generally considered immoral for the nobility to force its citizens to fight a war that is not their own. That said, many Dreisi people choose to take up arms in the wars of other nations of their own accord. There has not been a direct war with another nation, nor has Dreisten become involved in any other disputes, in several hundred years. ♡ The royal Mistmane family has three children: Prince Calin (25) who graduated several years ago and is remembered as one of the best students to attend, Prince Brynnjar (19), who only began attending this year, and Princess ? (16), who has not yet begun attendance. The High Queen has one sister and one brother, Clanqueen Freyya (and her husband Bjor) with their two children aged 14 and 17, and Clanking Askel (and his wife Alni), and their four children aged 12, 15, 16, and 18. ♡ (no alliances and enemies established... yet)

Prince Brynnjar Mistmane ♡ Dreisten ♡ 19 ♡ first year
Brynnjar is not exactly what someone would expect as a warrior-prince of Dreisten, especially if they had met his elder brother Calin, the pinnacle of handsome and strong. No, Brynn is rather small, standing at about 5'7", with relatively narrow shoulders and delicate- though not unattractive- features. His musculature is not well-defined, and he could certainly be described as a little bit chubby, though the layer of fat does hide muscled well developed for movement rather than strength. He certainly takes after his mother with a willowy build, somewhat feminine hips, and high cheekbones. His hair falls to about the base of his shoulder blades, and is shaved around the sides and back, with the rest typically pulled into a ponytail, partially braided and decorated with bone-beads and feathers. It is pure white, except for a strip of very pale, platinum blonde from just above his right eye. His almond-shaped eyes, framed with strikingly black lashes, are also a bit odd, in that the left is a very pale blue like his mother's, while the right is a pale green like his father's. His skin is porcelain white, though his cheeks and shoulders are speckled with a spattering with faint grayish freckles. Most of Brynn's clothes are relatively simple, consisting of varying simple tunics and loose leggings, black leather boots that extend to just below his knee, and bracers made of either thin leather or layers of fabric. In warm weather, he will often add a hooded cape as well, of either black or dark red, which he will utilize to keep his fair skin out of direct sunlight. In colder weather, he will include a mantle of fur and feathers. Regardless of outfit, the most ornate piece of clothing is a braided leather belt he wears loosely around his waist, with a vast number of scarves, beaded cords, furs, animal tails, and braids hanging from the back like the ornate tail of some fantastic tropical bird. Each object tied to the belt has some kind of meaning to it.
Brynnjar is typically calm and reserved, observing others more than actually interacting with them. He tends to be cautious and soft-spoken, and when he does speak he tends to either use far too few words, or far too many. He is often metaphorical when speaking, and is often concise but in an indirect way. All in all, he can be a difficult and cagey person to get information from, and much less to understand. For the most part, he doesn't specifically intend to be aloof, but simply doesn't know how to speak to others very well. He can, at times, be very charming, usually once he figures out others' patterns of behavior. He is very logical-minded, usually piecing together other peoples' personalities and motives before he bothers to speak to them extensively. He always assumes an ulterior motive, and of course, with the politics that tend to bleed into every aspect of his life, this is typically true enough. As such, he is careful when dealing with others, always cautious of the social and political ramifications, and eternally careful not to give too much information. He finds it difficult to trust others, and even more difficult to relate to them, even if he does understand their motives. He also finds it difficult to make friends, as he tends to be unable to accept that sometimes kindness and friendliness is just that.
Brynnjar's childhood was fairly normal, at least for the nobility of Dreisten. He was taught the basics that he would need as an eventual king, though he never expected to become High King, as that role would go to his elder brother Calin. This relieved him somewhat, as he has never been particularly fond of leadership, preferring more to keep to himself and his own problems. He was given Agnar when he was 12 years old, and the dog quickly became his best friend, the two now being inseparable. At 15, he went to live with his uncle (on his father's side), Thialfi, in the north. This side of his family is non-royal, and so Brynnjar spent several years not as a prince, learning what life is like for the common people of his kingdom. Unlike his brother, who lived with this side of the family for only two years, Brynnjar stayed for four. Finally, he was convinced to return home so that he could have formal schooling for at least a couple of years before he was too old. He isn't particularly happy about it. ♡ Parents are Nothri and Asa Mistmane; elder brother is Calin, and has a younger sister. ♡ He is very attached to his wolfdog Agnar, who accompanies him everywhere.
finished now.... also, good to see Asmenia is getting some use too lmao. I saw the name as was like *squints aggressively*

Prince Kai Nicollier ♡ Calais ♡ 16 ♡ First Year Kai's not the most masculine looking prince, and for fair reason, but not one anyone outside of the Calaisian royal family or court is aware of. Bring intersex, being born to the family he was happened to be a great luck as others would not take kindly to this--at least, not easily in Calais. And being raised the way he was, Kai doesn't have an issue with it, why would he? He's gained a look that attracts more men and women than expected and he has no issue playing hard to get. Kai has light blond hair that falls to the end of his shoulder blades, though it is often kept up in elaborate braids that match the fashion of the Calaisian court. He has blue eyes and a pretty face to match that of a woman's as well as a thin build. He stands around 5'8"but often increases it with heeled boots--another status symbol in Calais, but Kai is not allowed to wear certain heights until he turns 18. Being a noble, he wears clothes and regalia with many laces and buttons, the former usually crisscrossed down one side and tied at the end. His regalia is white, signifying he will be married off but his spouse has not been identified and therefore no country color has been chosen. If he marries within Calais, he will wear white and shades of royal blue with gold embellishments, and if he marries elsewhere he will wear that country's colors. Kai chooses to wear gold embellishments and lacings with his regalia and with his regular outfits--still complicated even though it's dailywear. Kai also wears jewelry with his regalia, as is custom for all genders in Calais. Being the third child, Kai was never expected to stay in Calais--he was expected to marry a noble for an alliance. Therefore, he was raised to host, to please, to gain allegiances and unity. That being said, Kai knows how to play people. He knows how to cover his emotions and act, and he often uses it for his own satisfaction. Being Calaisian, he's a flirt and a tease, often courting people and danger he shouldn't be. Not that he has any intention of a relationship--he's only concerned with Prince Keagan of D'raa, as he has been for most of his life. The only main worry Kai has, since he usually presents himself as carefree and mischievous, is his ability to produce an heir; if he cannot, he will not be able to marry Keagan. And if he can, the rest of Calais will likely abandon him because of their child being born out of wedlock. It's a cruel fate designed by the Calaisian court in attempts to "salvage" his gender for marriage. Luckily for them, the King and Queen of D'raa like Kai and so does their eldest son. Unfortunately, this has created the only insecurity Kai has ever had about his gender and fathered his anxiety--an anxiety he hides. Kai was not raised to show weakness. He knows how to battle not only with weapon but with tongue, another ability gained from spending time in his country's court. He has no qualms about tearing someone to shreds either way if their intentions are malicious, especially towards Keagan. Kai spends a lot of time training and has excelled with the saber as well as combat forms unique to D'raa. He considers himself Keagan's protector--they both have a secret, but Kai believes his betrothed's more damning than his own since Keagan is to rule. Kai is also very adept at archery, finding more time than his siblings to learn what he wanted. Besides, he couldn't only protect Keagan at close range, could he? Kai was born and raised in Rheins, not old enough to have experience in the country's towns and villages. Since he is the third child, he was raised to marry, so knowledge of his own country hasn't been the top priority. Even though he is relatively young, he knows a lot about ruling, diplomacy, and politics because of his time in the Calaisian court and his yearly visits to his betrothed in D'raa. ♡ Tentative betrothal to Prince Keagan of D'raa that will only come to fruition if Kai can provide an heir. Remains a secret. ♡
♡ Calais ♡ Queen Hélène Nicollier & King Henri Nicollier Of course, the northern coast is colder and rougher, but overall Calais has a more temperate climate. In the north they have a harsh winter and a cool summer, but no real spring or fall. The south has four seasons with a mild winter and a long harvest season, though the farms are cut out from the forest and to start one it requires a lot of work. There are a few mountains but none too tall, and large glacial boulders can be found in most places. The soil is overall gravelly, but farmers till in compost from the forest before planting season. Calais, being a country of trees, has knights trained in guerrilla warfare since anything else would not be useful. The military is organized and they dress in complicated clothes but engage in complicated combat instead of field wars. They know how to get through the terrain and know how to handle a horse through it as well. They use a lightweight saber for quick slashing since heavy armor and long swords would not work well in guerrilla warfare. Often settlements are forged into the forest and thrive on it with hunting and gathering with a large focus on archery. The capital in the south, Rheins, is the most built up city, much of the forest being cleared out there and there is more of a focus in swordplay than archery. Clothing shows opulence and has many laces and layers along with embroidery and embellishments--a socioeconomic status. Religion is not a big factor, but society still has its odd standards. Any person of prevalence must marry before having a child as bastards are often demoted into lower class, however, practices that other countries may call indecent are common and sexuality is relatively free, not necessarily for the best. Children learn a bit too much and a bit too early. Lords and Ladies of the lands are not paid serfs but govern the lands they are in charge of and participate in the Royal Court when needed. They are funded by the Crown. There is a year round Royal Court consisting of nobles that work with and against the Crown, and their money is needed for the country. The leaders of Calais are King and Queen, their children being Princes and Princesses with no gender preference for succession. It is whoever is born first and is able to rule. The spouse of the King or Queen holds less power but gains a title. The King or Queen may not marry of the same gender, otherwise the child would be a bastard. They may marry for politics and take a lover. The brother[?] and sister [?] and their spouses[?] of the King and Queen become Viscounts and Viscountesses, with their children being Counts and Countesses. They also have places in the Royal Court. The political climate of Calais is tricky--most everyone is two faced and one must have a way with words to do things. It is often thought of as dishonest and manipulative, which is is, but the rest of Calais is not. The upper classes are not happy to work with one another while the lower classes have great bonds even in times of hardship. Only the upper classes fight one another for money; the peasants do not. Calais has been around for sixteen generations and lost the east coast to Estrela--a large disappointment they have not gotten over. They have been through their fair share of civil wars and coups because of lord and serf politics and abuse of the lower classes. Royals often forget the common people have sickles and fire. ♡ The King and Queen have three children [Kai, ?, ?], Kai being 16, the middle child being [17-19] and in the academy, and the eldest, the next in line for the throne, has already attended the academy [21-25] ♡ Alliance with D'raa formed with tentative arranged marriage of Prince Kai and Prince Keagan, only to be solidified and them married if Kai can provide an heir. Not public knowledge. Rivals with Estrela due to loss of the east coast. (#0959b4, most of the deciduous forest in the upper right corner bordering the ocean to the north and estrela to the east)

Character-
Princess Nicolaa Ryunis ♡ Eswain ♡ 16 ♡ 1st Year Princess Nicolaa stands at just a little under five and a half feet with a rather skinny build and very bony arms. Her face is long with her cheekbones rather pronounced, her lips full and her eyes are dark brown that are almond shaped with well trimmed eyebrows to top it all off. She has long dark brown hair to match her eyes that is always pulled back behind her head, braided up till it reaches the very back and then the rest being held up by pins adorned with gems in an elegant updo during formal occasions and falling to her back on less formal occasions. Something that is rather foreign to her is the differences between summer and winter dresses. In the summer she can wear a lightweight elegant dresses that mainly are cooler colors such as blues and purples with long sleeves that have three tie off points on her forearm which is the normal royal attire back home. During the winter she adopts a more heavy outfit, one that she does not care for, that falls all the way to her ankles with long sleeves that have no tie off points (a terrible decision if she had a say). These winter dresses come in similar colors to her summer dresses but are much darker with golden accents to offset the darker colors. Nicolaa is a rather friendly girl, being very comfortable with striking up a conversation with just about anybody regardless of who they are. She rather fond of talking about the farms in her country, having seen them on multiple occasions through her life she has gotten quite good at rambling about them. She tends to ramble about anything that she finds enjoyable, though that list is still rather small as she really only knows about the religion that her country has. She has been using her academy life so far to explore other things she enjoys, so far she really enjoys music but she still doesn't know much about it. With this she is rather sensitive to how other's act, and normally if she gets a hint that someone is either distant or doesn't want her around, she typically leaves regardless of if was the other party's intention of doing so. Past being able to talk one on one with others, she doesn't like talking one on many, aka speaking at more than five people at once, aka public speaking. Her upbringing made it very hard to get out of her initial shell of not liking to speak to a lot of people at once, so she is rather poor at it. Princess Nicolaa was the 5th born in the Ryunis family, from birth it was already slated for her to become the next High Priestess so when she was only 4 years old she was sent off the the church to start learning about the deities. She spent the first 10 years in silent study about the four and the land that they provided for the people, silent as in if she talked at all during that time, she would have to spend a week repenting in the lowest part of the church. She then spent the next 2 years learning rituals and how to perform them on citizen who requests one, traveling around with her mentor to the different cities so she could further learn the culture of the people. It wasn't until she was about three months from her sixteen birthday that she got the word that the majority of the royal family had been assassinated over the course of the last month and that she was the next heir to the throne. She was swiftly rushed to a small church in a small inland city along with her younger sibling, Grandmother and the current High Priest to discuss the next course of action. One thing was obvious, Nicolaa, if she took the throne at this time, would not be fit to rule as she had no experience outside of her cleric duties. Nicolaa was quietly enrolled at the Academy and many other nobles were pulled out of cleric duties to attend as well in an attempt to make sure there was someone who would be able to take care of the throne and to give Nicolaa a fitting King to rule with her. The Queen Mother and the High Preist took the throne behind the scenes, keeping even the citizens in the dark that their royal family was in shambles. ♡ Parents are King Ector and Queen Murie, (Brother/Sister), engaged to Lord ____ (one of a Duke's son) ♡ She has never seen snow, but she enjoys the cooler temperatures of the night so she tends to wonder the campus during that time.
Country-
(Okay IDK if I should write this out here too, but currently the two listed above are the 'public' rulers, however they died and the royal family is keeping it a secret till Nicolaa can go through the academy. The country is currently being ran by the Queen Mother Dianna and The High Priest Phillipus) ♡ Eswain ♡ King Ector Ryunis and Queen Murie Ryunis The hot dry summers paired with the more humid cooler winter months can make farming difficult for newcomers. Despite this, the soil is rich and for anyone who is willing to brave the dry months, farming is quite profitable. The region is relatively flat, the 'hills' of the region just low slopes scatted around the country. The country's residents primarily rely on farming and the export of the plants that are native to this island as a 'luxury' resource to the mainland. There are two major types of farms in the country, the coastal farms-that primarily focus on export crops, and the inland farms that have a primary focus on crops the feed the people. The exported goods are primarily grapes and wines, followed by different types of honey. The more minor exports include other fruits. Eswain as a culture has a primary focus on religion, with all of the citizens following the same religion. The high priest(ess) has a political standing just below the king and queen and outranks most of the prince(ss) aside from the heir. Because of this, the country has two major 'capitals' one where the king and queen reside that is located just a few miles from the northern coast and where the high priest(ess) resides located near the large lake. Due to the amount of power the church has, it is customary for the younger children of nobility to train to be part of the church instead of training to take over the country. The religion itself worships four gods and goddesses. Each of them ruling over a aspect of human life and happiness. The most powerful of the four is the Goddess of Health, Ryuna, who protects the citizens from unneeded misfortune. The God of Wisdom, Tinir almost matches her power equally. The two following are the siblings Chidlios-the God of Dreams-and Cumotl-the goddess of wealth. Their belief is that the four of them watch over all people to help them lead a fulfilling and happy life. Eswain used to be many smaller countries battling it out for dominance upon that island. None of them cared for the mainland, and most would rather never interact with them. It wasn't until the country was split into two, did Eswain establish both a solid exportable good and contact with the rest of the continent. The two countries had stopped fighting for many years, each of them focused on growing relations with the other countries to really care about each other. It was less than 100 years ago when Eswain finally restarted the old war and swiftly took control of the entire island. ♡ King Ector and Queen Murie had many children, but due to unforeseen circumstances, only Princess Nicolaa is attending with 1 prince(ss) slated to come once they turn 14 (currently 13). They have, however, authorized the attendance of select Duke's and Duchess' children (total of 3, at least one male) to attend as well. ♡ Eswain tries to keep economic ties with each nation, however they keep their distance from militarized nations such as Matte, as they are weary of their power. They currently are working out an alliance with the other island nation to the north of them, D'raa. (#a57c00, The large island south of D'raa)
(another reason Eswain does not like Matte: They took the dark red color that is obviously supposed to be wine in the map and they have been salty about it for years. xD)

Grand Duchess of Laspaolor, Emmeline de Pinchemont ♡ country ♡ age ♡ year physical description + attire brief personality history ♡ relationships ♡ other
♡ Laspaolor ♡ Empress Amfelisia de Pinchemont Laspaolor is a northern country consisting of three major islands and the shoreline of the main land. Because of its location, most of the country is coated in a thin permafrost and most crops are unable to grow. However, this doesn't affect the country's two major exports: furs and minerals. Beavers, wolves, foxes, and marmots all thrive in the cold climate of the mainland, and thus the deep arctic forests are prime locations for many furriers and hunters. The northern islands are more rocky and arid, and while animals are less common, gemstones such as rubies, sapphires, peridot, topaz, tourmalines, emeralds, and diamonds seem to be scattered everywhere you walk. The two large islands of Laspaolor: Vesca and Yareil are home to mainly lower class miners and middle class artisans. While large mines double as estates for the more wealthy citizens, small cities are usually clustered together, creating large wastelands of open space in the tundra. In more recent years, the upper class and monarchy have been working together on making these islands more livable, whether it be pouring money into infrastructure projects or paying for expert sailors to help with the transportation of food and other necessities to major ports. The mainland of Laspaolor is isolated by its large forests. Despite it's connection to other countries, most citizens of the mainland stay secluded in small forests towns rather than settling in the larger border cities. Of these border cities, perhaps the most well known is Drulell, which sits only a few miles away fro Asmenia. Here, hunters bring animal pelts and other goods from the forests to barter and trade with merchants from all over Arian. Most border cities are structure a large bazaar or market strip, with housing located on the fringe and businesses in the center. The smallest island of Laspaolor is entirely reserved for the upper class and royalty. Large estates dissect the landscape and large libraries, theater halls, and art galleries seem to be found at every corner. The royal palace of Laspaolor is located on the outhern tip of the island and is saddled with it's own private port.

Crown Princess Elianora Vairia ♡ Vairia Queendom ♡ 16 ♡ Second Elianora has long, silky golden blond hair, usually up in intricate braids. Her eyes are a beautiful blue-green, and her skin is snowy, which is quite desirable in her homeland. She's shortish, which she will never admit, and takes great offense to being called short. She usually wears flowy dresses with sleeves that move and flow, which are usually off-shoulder sleeves. The dresses never come below the ankle, and her shoes are usually plain sandals, as heels would only get in the way, thanks to the landscape of her homeland. Elianora, or El as she prefers to be called, is stubborn, brutally honest, and very trustworthy. She is loyal to those close to her and also loyal to her family. She will not allow anyone (But her brother) to call her short. He may do it because she's used to him doing it. She's a good 5'1" tall, which is small for someone her age. Usually women in Vairia are 5'7" by the time they're her age, and she's a little sensitive about it, thanks. She can be sarcastic, but that doesn't mean she doesn't care. She is the oldest Princess, only younger than her twin brother by seven minutes, but considering she is a woman, she is Crown Princess as her homeland is primarily ruled by a Queen. ♡ Elianora has four younger sisters and a twin brother, Hamlin. She also has her parents, Queen Maudelynn and Prince Consort Alfan ♡ other
Character-
Prince Hamlin Vairia ♡ Vairia Queendom ♡ 16 ♡ Second Hamlin has short golden blond hair and beautiful blue-green eyes. This appearance is strange, since in Vairia males usually grow their hair long like women do, but he has never cared about tradition. He will consent to there being braids in his hair, as it's long enough for small along the sides. His skin is tan from being out in the sun, which is desirable for men in his homeland. He usually wears quite simple clothes, but he will wear his fancy princely clothes on formal occasions. He's fun-loving, adventurous, and is very loyal. He's kind to animals, and loves to make new friends. He is the only Prince of Vairia, but he will probably never sit on the throne. He's the oldest child, yes, but he is male. That's all he needs to never rule the country. He's fine with that, actually never wanting to rule. He doesn't want that kind of responsibility. ♡ He has five sisters, one of which is at the school with him, his twin sister Crown Princess Elianora. He also has his parents, Queen Maudelynn and Prince Consort Alfan ♡ other
Country-
♡ Vairia Queendom ♡ Queen Maudelynn and Prince Consort Alfan The Queendom is in a place surrounded by nature, with plants under their feet and soaring trees near their homes. They have some serious traditions there. In Vairia, women reign supreme. Men are respected, but women lead. The land is ruled by a woman, and only by a man if he has no sisters, which has never happened in the history of Vairia. Currently there are five Princesses and one Prince. Even though the Prince is the eldest, all five of his sisters have a better chance at the throne than him, and they all want it. It's a cutthroat place, where if you're powerful, you're beautiful. Women who are strong are more likely to marry important men or women. There is plenty of equality when it comes to romance. If the person is living and consent to it, you can marry them. Vairia started when a woman overthrew a kingdom dominated by men by defeating the tyrant king in battle. She changed everything, turning the Kingdom into a Queendom that was fair and just. She changed the laws to be fair and kind to the people, and the punishments for breaking said laws were decided based on the severity of the crime, not how the judge felt at the moment. Positions were given off merit, not birth. Nobles did not get everything for free anymore, and their crimes were not ignored. Forty nobles were executed for the crimes they committed, all executed on the same day in front of the palace where everyone could see. There would be no tolerance for corruption by anyone anywhere. Royals may marry whoever they like, except Queens. They have to marry men because they have to produce heirs. There are ways around it, however, and there was one time in the country's history when two Queens reigned. ♡ Crown Princess Elianora, Prince Hamlin ♡ Neutral with everybody (anywhere is fine, but there needs to be nature)
(Is this good?)
