Nectarleaf led the way through the territory, toward the border with SunClan. "I think it would be wise to strengthen the border scents. I can easily imagine those arrogant SunClan cats crossing the border and then claiming they couldn't smell our markers, so let's make absolutely certain that they can. We'll mark every tree along the border. Of course, even if they couldn't smell the scent marks, they should be able to see the border, given that the river makes up the entirety of our border, but those cats are so full of themselves that they could probably cross the river without even realizing it." Dogstep followed Hornetstrike toward the DayClan border, his mind reeling with the idea of Leopardstar having kits. He shook his head, forcing himself to focus on the task at hand. Littlethorn nodded, vaguely listening to Nectarleaf's talking as he followed her initial instruction by marking all the trees along the border. He paused in his step to gaze across the border towards Sunclan. He looked back to the deputy, his tail held high in smug triumph as he commented, "I can't imagine they would be particularly good at crossing the border, considering they don't swim." Hornetstrike glanced at Dogstep in the corner of her eye, mainly focused on the task at hand. It was because of this that she felt inclined to meow, "You seem somewhat distracted." As they drew closer to the other neighboring clan's territory. Nectarleaf nodded, unable to suppress a purr of amusement. "You make a good point," she meowed. Dogstep looked at Hornetstrike. "Oh, I'm just surprised that Leopardstar is going to have kits. It's so unlike her."

Tinyflame yowled and leaped after the cat, racing to catch up to it. The lean brown and white rouge whipped around, hissing in warning at the approaching clan cats as he pulled the bird close to his rather skinny body. “If you know what’s best for ya’, you’ll walk away!” The tom snapped, sounding tougher than he looked. Even so, he stood his ground, too hungry to give up the prey. “You’ve stolen from Moonclan territory.” Tigershade growled. “Did you not scent the markers?” The rouge did not answer, bristling and narrowing his icy blue eyes. "You're the one who's outnumbered here," Tinyflame growled. "You'd be smart to drop that bird and leave this territory now."

Tigershade gave a growl, only to stop suddenly and remember his sister’s words, and Dogstep’s suggestions. He looked at Tinyflame and relaxed, pulling his claws back in. He mewed. “Wait...wait, everyone take a breath here. We’re all hungry but, I must admit that your hunting technique was incredibly swift.” He looked at the rouge, who gave a blink of confusion.

He couldn't help but wonder why Moonclan had the border along the river, since they were the ones using it the most. Perhaps one day they could expand a little past the river, their border ending past the Basking Boulders... He gave a huff. "Hopefully our clan will see better days. It unnerves me to think about Sunclan with all their cats and bountiful prey." He growled. Hornetstrike paused for a moment, considering not saying anything on the matter for a moment, but she didn't see any harm in admitting her thoughts here. "I am surprised too." She meowed, slowing as they approached Dayclan's border. "I see her reasoning behind it, but it seems like a move of desperation. In her paws, I would never do that myself."

Dogstep nodded. “Don’t get me wrong, I think it is an honorable sacrifice to make. But... I just remember the days when she was a warrior, and insisted she would never take a mate or have kits. She wanted to be the strongest warrior there’s ever been. Of course, I don’t mean that by having kits she’s weak, but...” He shook his head, unsure of how to express what he was thinking. He admired his leader’s courage to do something she had never wanted to do for the sake of her Clan, but he hated that she was in a position where she had to.

He meowed, clearing his throat, "It's about the quality of the warriors, not the number. Besides, I can imagine SunClan might eventually run into a prey problem." He added, a rare moment of sympathy for them striking him. "There is only so much prey in the forest, and so many mouths to feed... Perhaps it is not only rogues we should look out for across our borders." Hornetstrike paused, gazing at Dogstep as she took in his support for a moment before she dipped her head in stoic gratitude. She always did like Dogstep - She had difficulty trusting all of her clanmates, but she knew he would be one she could rely on. "I haven't given up, of course. But it is better I don't feed it, either." She admitted, her eyes narrowing somewhat. She would not readily voice that dark thought to just anyone.

Drake slunk through the shade of the trees that dotted the edge of the river between Sunclan and Moonclan, his whiskers twitching and ears as water dripped off his pelt. The tom was trying to dry his fur out before returning back his den, figure he could also hunt to pass the time.

Her fur is soft like feathers, from which she received her name. || She's a very organized cat with, and is especially keen on her herbs up keep and stock. She doesn't like when things get out of place. Featherlight can be a bit ditzy at times. It's easy to get her distracted talking about things she loves. She takes her job as a medicine cat very seriously, especially when she has cats to take care of. Featherlight loves to spend time outside the camp at night anyplace she can see the stars more clearly. She tends to be very socialable, and tries to keep a relationship with nearly every cat. || Tansyleaf (Mother, deceased)) || As a kit, her mother had passed a few moons after she was born due to an unknown illness. Featherlight was mortified that a disease could take loved ones so easily, and how she was now all alone. This is when Featherlight became determined not to let this happen to anymore cats, and when she decided to become a medicine cat. She doesn't like to speak of her kithood, as it brings up unhappy memories. || Moonlight / Stardust || Dᴀᴡɴ Rɪsɪɴɢ --» || || Riverheart || She-cat || Warrior || Riverheart is a dark brown tabby she-cat with white paws, tail tip, and chest fur. She has little hope in herself because of her past, and finds herself wondering what she's meant to do with her life. Riverheart hates being pitied, and can become angry. Riverheart holds in her emotions, most of the time to an unhealthy amount, and does her best not to lash out at others when she is unstable. She will often excuse herself to be alone to calm herself down. || Foxpetal (Mother, deceased), Talonbramble (Father, deceased) || When Riverheart was a young apprentice, she almost drowned in one of the surrounding rivers. Her father, Talonbramble, his apprentice, and Riverheart's mentor had taken the two apprentices out to learn how to swim. Riverheart was already nervous, but her father and her mentor encouraged her. When it was her turn to enter the water, she panicked. Riverheart stood still in fear and was swept away by the current. She was unable to keep herself above the water and sunk below the surface. Luckily, her mentor was able to catch her downstream an pull her from the water. She nearly survived the experience. Ever since then, Riverheart has been terrified of water, and despises her name. She is one of, if not the only cat who won't fish in MoonClan. Her father, Talonbramble, was very angry with Riverheart for not being strong enough to swim. Of course, he is willing to wait as long as possible to get what he wants. || Silvertail (Mother, deceased), Father unknown (Rogue, unknown) || Stormstriker's mother was Clanborn, however, his father was a rogue outside of the Clan. His mother passed when he was an apprentice, leaving him with no kin left inside the Clan. She was raised to be loyal and to do her part for the Clan. She held herself to these standards. Multiple moons ago, Hazelleaf was hunting alone when she met a strange loner inside their territory. Hazelleaf was hostile at first, but something about the tom intrigued her. Eventually, the two started seeing each other in secret, seemingly growing a romantic relationship. One night, however, it was discovered that an intruder had been sneaking into the camp at night to steal herbs and food from the freshkill pile through a weakness in the barrier. Hazelleaf was part of the group that chased the intruder away, when she noticed it was the tom. Angry, she met him the next night. The tom told her he had used her to steal supplies for his group of loners, and she was a fool for trusting a stranger. Hazelleaf, broken hearted, chased him away for good and returned to the camp grief stricken. She told herself she would never love another cat again, and she should never have betrayed the Clan in such a way. Hazelleaf has dedicated herself to following the codes of the Clan in attempt to redeem herself. No one ever knew about her secret relationship. || Moonlight / Stardust || Dᴀᴡɴ Rɪsɪɴɢ --» || || Finchpaw || Tom || Apprentice || Finchpaw is a small, wiry brown tabby tom with a cream colored underbelly. ((Here's some quick starters if anyone would like to rp c: ))
Featherlight was in her den near her herb storage. She hummed softly as she organized her herbs, picking out the bad, old from the good. The medicine cat purred in delight as she realized how little waste she would have this time. Featherlight was happy with how well her new system was working. With no one else to help her, she'd had to figure out a way to manage her herbs more efficiently. She's had a nice time doing so. It's been keeping her mind off of other, more stressful things.
-
Riverheart fumbled with a mouse from the Clan's pile between her paws. She didn't know why she grabbed something to eat. She wasn't even hungry. Riverheart sighed and rolled to her side, looking up to the sky. She wasn't sure what to do with herself. She had gone on a hunting patrol earlier, and had helped gather new moss for elders. Riverheart closed her eyes. Maybe she'd take a nap. Sleeping did sound good right about now...

Stormstriker strided back into camp with a mouthful of prey he had recently caught. His face looked smug. He had managed to catch a rabbit quite quickly. The tom made his way to the fresh-kill pile, stealing a fish for himself. He had done the Clan a favor in hunting. He deserved a break.
- Hazelleaf basked in the sun near the warriors den, enjoying the warmth on her calico fur. It sure is a nice day, she thought, giving a purr. The she-cat couldn't help but to stretch herself out. What to do today? Hunting? Swimming? Running?? Hazelleaf chuckled slightly to herself. Maybe a patrol on the border...

Finchpaw ducked out of the apprentices den, sleep slight dragging him down. The wiry tom yawned and gave his back a good stretch. "So tired..." he murmured, blinking heavily. "Ugh..." Finchpaw peered around camp with sleep crusted eyes. "Maybe I... should... find Dogstep?" he mumbled. He wasn't sure. He just wanted to go back to sleep.

Jaggedpaw was laying in camp with his tail wrapped tightly around himself. He was looking around, noticing how busy the warriors were. He decided he didn’t want to be a bother by asking around for work to do. He nodded his head in greeting to Finchpaw. “I-I saw Dogstep go on patrol with Hornetstrike.” He mewed.
