Poisonface wasnβt sure what to do. She knew she really didnβt want to fight anyone, but sheβd get in a lot more trouble if she didnβt. Ravenstar had garnered a lot of trust in her over a fairly short amount of time... and maybe that wasnβt necessarily a good thing. She noticed a brown and white she-cat looking concerned in one part of camp, and she flung herself onto the she-cat without giving it much thought.

"Nettle, it's me! Wasp!" Waspwing cried out, dodging her former mentor's blows as the grey she-cat lashed out at her. Nettle's green eyes only narrowed in response, but Waspwing was relieved when she took a step back, pausing her assault. "Wasp is dead," Nettle retorted, her expression dark, "Spider chased her down after she stole from him and he told me she died." Waspwing's eyes widened, and she jolted back as Nettle swung at her again, the blow barely missing her eye as she dodged it just in the nick of time. "I'm not dead, I'm here!" she insisted, refusing to lash out at Nettle even though the grey she-cat didn't let up. Nettle hissed and lashed her tail. "Don't lie to me!" she spat, and Waspwing could see the rage burning in her green eyes. But there was a hint of uncertainty there too, almost as though a part of Nettle dared to believe that Waspwing was telling the truth - that Spider had lied to her. Waspwing gasped as Nettle's claws caught her throat, and she could feel blood welling from the shallow wound. What had Spider done to Nettle? Why was she fighting for Ravenstar, of all cats? Ravenstar made Spider seem StarClan-sent, as far as Waspwing was concerned. "Nettle, stop this! This isn't you, I know it isn't!" Waspwing barely ducked Nettle's next blow aimed at her face. She continued to back up, retreating further and further from the battle with each step as Nettle pursued her, claws slashing and teeth bared. Then Nettle sprung, and Waspwing cried as the older she-cat's claws sank into her shoulders. She dropped to the ground and rolled, twisting her body sharply enough to throw Nettle away from her with a strong kick of her hind legs - another thing that Nettle had taught her. Nettle scrambled to her paws and lunged at Waspwing's throat. Instinctively Waspwing bit down hard on Nettle's foreleg and slammed her to the ground, and the grey tabby yowled in pain and anger. Claws caught Waspwing's eye and she winced as blood welled there, obscuring her vision. Blindly, she lashed out with her claws, and felt them score cleanly through flesh. It was only when she heard the gurgling that she realised what she had done. She stared down in horror as blood began to ooze from a gash in Nettle's throat, and the grey tabby she-cat's body started to convulse at her paws. Waspwing cried out in anguish and flung herself down by Nettle's side, pushing her paws against the wound as though that would stop the bleeding and save her life. Yellow eyes met green in the half-light of the cave and Waspwing saw a sudden spark of recognition there, behind the mask of rage. "Wasp...?" Nettle's voice was horribly distorted by the blood in her throat. Her body jolted one final time, and then Nettle lay still.

Jayleap just struggled harder at Ravenstar's words. "Choke on snake fangs," he spat. "Miserable fox-mothered, stone-footed, old bat-spawn β"

Fawnstep was taken back by the sudden attack and fell down, she struggled against the new cat's grip. "Who are you?!" She screeched, knowing full well it was a Cedarclan warrior. She kicked furiously at the warrior with hind legs, hoping it would get her off her. She didn't want to stay trapped in this position, she had to get to her apprentice and protect her, didn't she?

Rabbit just barely dodged the large cat's swipe, practically leaping above the blow to avoid it. Once back on all four paws he tried to assess his situation: this cat was big - like, really big - so she was bound to be slow, right? He might not even have to fight her properly, if he could confuse her enough to disorient her. However, he'd spent too much time in his own thoughts, as he was promptly sent flying by a powerful shove. He scrambled back to his paws and leaped right back at his opponent, aiming to land on her back.

Ravenstar shook his head, now digging his claws in. He just wanted silence, time to think. "Didn't your mother teach you cursing was bad?" He commented, flicking his tail as he pressed down. He still wasn't in the mood to kill, this warrior was just blind, blind to what Fogstar was. Blind to what he could be under Ravenstar's ruling. He decided he would give it a few more moments and if the warriors wasn't going to stop he'd find someone else to handle him, he searched the crowd for someone and his eyes landed on and Scorchfeather. Standing alone with wide eyes and obviously shaking.

Redtuft stood in the middle of the fray, not quite sure what to do. He had lost sight of Ravenstar, and of most of his Clanmates; he was surrounded by FogClan warriors who likely wouldn't hesitate to kill him without bothering to learn that he didn't want to be there either. An anguished cry from somewhere nearby caught his attention, and he turned his head: the black-striped tabby he had seen in Ashpelt's patrol stood over the body of Nettle, the leader of the small band of rogues that Ravenstar had recruited. Why would she mourn her, if they were on opposite sides? He wondered. But he didn't have much time to ponder on it, as he was suddenly shunted off his paws.

Shadefang wasnβt sure where the tom went, until she felt claws rake her back and latch on. She let out a screech and found herself unable to scratch him from any angle, so she did the next best thing. She dropped down and moved to roll onto her back

Poisonface winced as the she-cat raked at her belly, and she dug her claws deeper into the Clan catβs shoulders. She could see the pain and confusion in her eyes, and her emotions reflected nearly the same thing. βI...I-β Poisonface stammered. Without an answer she raked somewhat meekly at her face before grabbing and rolling over with the she-cat in her grasp.

"No fair, you're like, massive!" Rabbit squeaked indignantly, gasping under the FogClan warrior's weight as she rolled on top of him. This cat was at least three times his his height and weight, and Rabbit was quite frankly absolutely terrified. He dug his claws into the dirt and heaved, trying to pull himself out from underneath her. "I don't even want to be here, I just want to go home!" he cried, gritting his teeth with the effort.

Fawnstep tried to make sense of what she was doing, she seemed to...what? She didn't seem as willing at the other warriors. When they rolled together, she reached up and bit her leg. It was the closest thing to her and she felt like it would be a simple enough warning without harming her too much. This is my first real fight as a warrior..I can do this..

Jayleap stopped struggling, panting for breath as Ravenstar glanced around the battlefield. He gasped as Ravenstar pressed down harder, forcing air from his chest, but he still had breath enough to sneer and the dark-furred tom.
"Didn't yours ever teach you not to go looking for mates in a badger den?" he retorted, and - with the last of his strength - kicked up with his hind paws, claws extended, aiming for the soft flesh of the leader's underbelly.

Shadefang felt herself stop as she heard the cat cry, and was almost surprised that he didnβt sound like a kit. She looked down at him before shifting her body weight off of him and moving away. She kept her claws unsheathed as she rounded on him, but her eyes were narrowed with thought more so than anger. He looked terrified... and definitely didnβt look like he belonged with Ravenstar. The sound of crew hung cats behind them continued until she motioned her head to the side. βGo.β Her tail lashed. βBefore I decide to attack again.β

Brambleflower's eyes widened in horror as Dappleleaf fell, and she cried out in anguish for her Clanmate. Fuzzytail was lucky he was already dead, or she would have shattered every bone in his body until there was nothing left to go to the dark forest. She snarled, her eyes blazing with fury. Of course, at that moment, Reedclaw had gotten the better of Tigerstripe and thrown the dark tabby away with a powerful kick of his hind legs. "You come any closer, you die!" she screeched, arching her back as her eyes locked onto those of her former mate. "Will I? Will you kill me, Brambleflower?" Reedclaw taunted, his eyes glittering with malice. Brambleflower snarled, baring her teeth and unsheathing her claws. Reedclaw lunged at her, and Brambleflower met him half-way with a vicious caterwaul.

He felt the claws connect with his belly and he let out an oof, falling backwards. He turned to growl at Scorchfeather "You dung-faced fox-brain! What are you doing just standing there, get your butt in here!" Scorchfeather took a few heartbeats before he jumped in, leaping at Jayleap. The whole time, underneath his breath so Ravenstar couldn't hear, he was whispering. "I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, does this hurt? Am I hurting you too much? Please tell me if this hurts too much." He was trying to pin him the way Ravenstar had as Ravenstar tried to back away and find a different set of warriors.

Rabbit's jaw dropped and his eyes widened as he stared incredulously at the FogClan warrior. She was...letting him go? "I'm sor-" he began, his voice shaking, but as he stepped back he spotted something out of the corner of his eye. The crowd of cats around him seemed to leave a gap, and on the other side of the battle he could see his sister. She was splayed out on the ground, her grey fur matted with blood, lying in a pool of it that came from the gaping wound on her throat. A cat stood over her, and Rabbit's heart sank when he recognised his sister's murderer.
Then came the rage. Unbridled, tempestuous fury coursed through his veins, and he took off like a bullet straight towards Wasp. "You MURDERER!" he wailed, flinging himself at the cat who had once been his best friend in the world.

Poisonface yelped and let go of Fawnstep before she tumbled away. She got to her paws and shook out the dust from her fur. She stared at her opponent, then blurred out. βI want to help you! Brambleflower cried out as Reedclaw shoved her harshly aside. She fought to get to her paws as quickly as she could, but she wasn't fast enough to stop him from entering the nursery. She lunged for him, but he shouldered her out of his way again, and she hit the ground hard, the air gone from her lungs. It was the squeal of fear from her kits, and Redkit's pained cries that snapped the string inside of her that was holding her back from unleashing every ounce of pent-up rage in her body. Reedclaw backed out of the den, Redkit's scruff tightly held in his jaws, and Brambleflower saw red. "Redkit!" She reared up on her hind legs, tail lashing and eyes blazing with unbridled rage.

"I-uh...Shadefang?" She looked to the cat who barreled down the newcomer then the newcomer. "I don't think she wants to fight...we have to do something, don't we?" She asked, crouching down to her. "Are you okay?" She whispered, hoping she was. She knew she had just been attacking her but she felt something was off, her scream of wanting to help before she was attacked didn't help ease this concern.

Jayleap took a long moment to reflect on the choices in his life that had led him to this point, on this day β being pinned down by a cat who didn't want to hurt him and didn't want to be there.
Then he kicked that cat in the stomach and sank his fangs into one of the forelegs holding him down.

Hollycloud stared down at her mother's lifeless body, ears drooping and eyes wide with horror. "D-Dappleleaf..." She lowered herself next to the tortoiseshell she-cat and gently nudged her with a single paw. "H-Hey, wake up. Fuzzytail's dead, you can get up now." She blinked expectantly, her gaze still focused on Dappleleaf's face. Any moment now. "Dappleleaf, wake up," she murmured, her voice shaking as she buried her nose into her mother's fur. "Please... Please don't leave us." Behind her, Gingerstripe approached and sat next to her, gently wrapping his tail around Hollycloud's shoulders. The comforting gesture finally snapped the black she-cat and she felt herself beginning to sob, face still firmly pressed to Dappleleaf's flank.

With Ravenstar well out of ear shot now, Scorchfeather began to...cry? Yep, cry. He was crying. "Please don't hurt me, I don't want to do this. It's just so hard, Ravenstar's making us do this and I'm just here because I think it's best I stay around instead of trying to survive on my own..." He was pleading for his life over just a bit in his leg. He still managed to hold on somehow, but the pain was strong. It reminded him of a bellyache he had as a kit.

"Redkit!" After managing to get away from his assailant, Redtuft found himself by the nursery. The cry drew his attention, and his head snapped up in the direction of the nursery; he could see Reedclaw already there, and his heart sank. Brambleflower, as brave and fearsome as ever, reared up on her hind legs to face her former mate, who had a small ginger tabby kit by the scruff. Redkit...Redkit...Redkit? In any other situation Redtuft's jaw might've dropped, or he might've blanched at the notion that a mother would ever name her son after him. But right there, on the battlefield, adrenaline began to kick in and Redtuft found himself running.
Running right at Reedclaw.
To stop him.
Redtuft sank his teeth into Reedclaw's hind leg and the tabby tom dropped Redkit with a yowl of agony. Brambleflower immediately scooped up her son and bundled him back into the nursery, planting herself between her kits and her former mate. Reedclaw whirled on Redtuft, eyes sparking, but he balked at the sight of his Clanmate staring back at him. "You'd betray me? You'd betray Ravenstar, and CedarClan? For what, for Brambleflower?" Reedclaw spat incredulously, snarling at Redtuft. Redtuft drew his head back and bared his teeth, snapping at the ginger tabby warrior as they circled one another. Reedclaw did not know that Redtuft had saved Brambleflower. "I won't let you harm those kits, Reedclaw," Redtuft retorted angrily. He lashed his tail, waiting for Reedclaw to make the first move. Reedclaw did, and he did not hold back. The pair rolled over on the ground, writhing and snarling and clawing at one another fiercely. Redtuft was on top, then Reedclaw, then Redtuft, then Reedclaw again, until finally Redtuft was able to pin his Clanmate down, one heavy paw planted firmly on his neck. "What, just because she named one of the little brats after you? "You were always soft, Redtuft, I'm not surprised you let her walk all over you," Reedclaw jeered. Redtuft increased the pressure on the other tom's neck and Reedclaw began to gasp for air, writhing under Redtuft's hold.

Badgerpaw gulped. Somehow, out of all the cats on the battlefield, he found himself face to face with the largest cat he had ever seen in his life. Fogstar, Ashpelt, Tigerstripe and Shadefang all seemed small in comparison to this stranger, whose white pelt was criss-crossed with ugly scars. One single yellow eye glared down at him, and where the other one should have been there was only a horrid wound. He took a step back, and the massive tom advanced. "This isn't a fight you can win." The strange tom's voice was deep and gruff, and Badgerpaw rapidly came to the conclusion that everything about this cat was absolutely terrifying. Badgerpaw ignored him, and went straight for his legs.

He was still crying and holding his ground as he looked to the nursery. "He'll kill me, it's okay, the kits are okay. See?" he gestured to the cats fighting. "Redtuft is protecting them...He's...he's got it..It's okay..If I let you up it's all over, you know that right? Ravenstar will see it as the last straw for me. He will finally put the last patch of dirt over my grave." Still, he eased up and let him move some more. "Here, you can move to see the nursery now at least, is that good?" He was trying to appease to Jayleap now, hoping it was enough.

Ravenstar was about to go to Tall Ledge when he saw movement near another opening, he turned his head to see Redtuft pinning down Reedclaw and anger flared inside him. Flintfur happily trotted into the camp with a squirrel clamped down into his jaw, thinking of how happy Cloudsplash will be to see him. Hound was surprised by the young black-and-white tom's boldness; swallowing his fears the way he did was something Hound could admire. It was just such a shame that he couldn't let him live. Hound growled, swinging a massive forepaw at the young tom and sending him sprawling across the ground. However, it didn't take him long to get back up, and then he was advancing again. Hound swung again, but this time with his claws unsheathed. He snagged his long claws in the black-and-white cat's fur and slammed him hard against the ground, pinning him there under one heavy paw. "Do you want to die, Clan cat?" he demanded, his voice a low growl as he lowered his head so the young tom could hear him speaking right in his ear. "At least it's for a purpose!" Was the challenging snarl Hound was met with, and his eye momentarily widened in surprise; he had not expected such courage from this young, inexperienced cat. From what little he knew of Clans and how they worked, he assumed this cat to be an apprentice. It was a shame, to see such potential go to waste, but if Hound let him live then he would not be doing his job properly. The apprentice rolled, ducking away from Hound's legs as he slipped free of his grasp, and shot to his paws. Hound met him mid-air with a hefty blow as he sprang, and his massive paw collided with the FogClan apprentice's head. The young tom went flying in the direction of the cave wall, which loomeed up on their right. The sickening crunch that sounded as the apprentice made contact with the wall stirred no emotions within the large white-and-tan tom; neither did the sight of the blood pooling around his head where he now lay, motionless, on the ground. The black-and-white tom's eyes stared into his own, and Hound watched the life ebb away from them drop by drop until there was nothing left.
