"Of course! Everyone will learn someday." She mewed. She took a bite out of the rabbit she had brought from the fresh kill pile as he spoke.

Owltuft could recall the tom going missing before their departure. βOh yes Flintfur.. if there is a will, and the way I'm sure he's unconditional love will lead him back home. β He gave another sigh staring at nothing particular. Though he could relaxed slightly when she mentioned Littlepoppy, and Cloudsplash. Looking over at the positive he added,βWell the good thing is when we do return I can show you how to give the new bundle of furs checkups.β

Meep Gathering her strength in her back legs Sweetmaple lept onto the back of the owl, and sunk her claws in. The owl let out a hoot of pain and flapped itβs wings, throwing Sweetmaple to the ground, but also dislodging its talons from Palemouse. The owl stared coldly at the two she-cats, and if itβs face could have shown emotion Sweetmaple would have guessed it was annoyed. the owl started to fly towards the two already injured cats.

Seedpaw brightened immediately at the mention of kits. "I can't wait to meet them, it seems like forever ago that Brambleflower brought her kits to the camp, and they've already grown so much. The nursery is going to be the liveliest den in the whole Clan at this rate!" she purred, her expression fond as her mind drifted to Brambleflower's litter. Honeykit was a sweetheart, and always offered to help her sort moss when she brought fresh bedding for the queens; Redkit was quiet, but Seedpaw recognised him as a gentle soul; Newtkit was the sweetest little thing she had ever seen, and although Seedpaw didn't like to play favourites, she was a little biased towards the tortoiseshell kit; Cherrykit was rambunctious and energetic and very protective of her smaller littermates even at such a young age, which Seedpaw admired. "The warriors will have their paws full when they're all made apprentices," she giggled, grinning broadly.

Fawnstep gave Shadefang a sly smile before darting towards the apprentices, trailing behind them at a distance. She loved this little friendly competition they had, but she wanted to check on Willowpaw today so she had to be to camp soon. She looked up to the mountains and wondered if Willowpaw even know what would be happening soon, surely she didn't right? She knew she didn't know when her last training session would be. She felt the camp entrance growing closer and she darted inside, looking around. "Willowpaw! Come here now." She may have sounded angry but she more out of breath and excited for training.

Willowpaw glanced up in surprise at the sound of her name being called. She was happy to see Fawnstep heading towards her, looking exhausted but strangely excited. "Coming!" she called out in response, a broad grin creeping onto her face as she bounded over to her mentor. Shadefang was with her, and she noticed Snailpaw and Kitepaw huddled close together nearby, looking equally tired but their eyes still gleaming with enthusiasm. "How was the patrol?" she asked brightly, her ears pricked.

"We met an older she-cat, she didn't want to join us but we tried our best." She admitted, letting a low sigh escape her. "It doesn't matter though, come on. We have to practice your mountain training." She purred, not wanting to let it slip what would happen if she did really well on it. She turned and made her way back to the exit of camp, still bristling with excitement. She hadn't asked Fogstar his opinion but she knew he would agree on this. When she left the camp, the sun was shining down hinting it was reaching midday now for them. She would need to do this quickly, so her mountain training would need to be short.

Willowpaw tilted her head curiously at Fawnstep's first statement, but she chose not to question her mentor further at that point; the mention of training was far more intriguing to her. She obediently trotted after Fawnstep, careful to keep a brisk pace in order to keep up with the older she-cat. She wondered why Fawnstep seemed so chipper, but she was a little hesitant to ask in case she struck a nerve, or it wasn't her place. "What are we practicing today?" she asked instead, her voice betraying her excitement.

"Well we aren't leaving the mountains, at all." She admitted, giving her a small smile. She continued on the path towards the training side of the mountains, there would be rocks there to climb and land on. It would also have a steep fall if an apprentice decided to get to close too the edge, they wouldn't die they would just...get a bit hurt. She felt the ground go in a downward slope and picked up her pace, practically running now.

Snailpaw scrambled up the side of the mountain and entered the camp, and as she stopped her chest heaved. However, there was a big smile on her face. "I win!" she said as she turned around, where Kitepaw was just behind her and purred. "See, just a little faster!"
Shadefang entered camp just behind them, after having to run after Fawnstep. She watched the two apprentices a moment, then realized she had to tell Fogstar about Pearl being practically on their territory... and that they'd offered her a place in FogClan. She glanced down at Kitepaw. "I'll be right back, and then we'll do battle training," she said before gazing across the camp. She found him near his den, and she made quick pawsteps toward him. "Fogstar."

"You cheated!" Kitepaw insisted, but he was still grinning broadly despite being out of breath and a sore loser. He all but flopped down onto the ground, rolling dramatically onto his back with his paws splayed out. "I'm so tired," he gasped out, his chest heaving as he rolled around, "I think I'm dying. I've never run that fast like, ever."

Willowpaw cocked her head to one side, a little puzzled by Fawnstep's statement. As her mentor started running she yelped a little and took off after her, her small paws skidding on the loose gravel as she hurried to catch up to Fawnstep. She gritted her teeth, her tail bushing out instinctively as she fought for a solid hold on the ground underneath her feet. "Fawnstep!" she called out, a little panicked. However, she soon found her rhythm and was able to pick up enough speed to catch up to her mentor.

The tom was his usual self, staring at a blank wall. When he heard someone he turned to face Shadefang and cocked his head to the side in question. "Shadefang? What are you doing here? Is the clan under attack?" He seemed out of it, something was certainly off with the leader. He stood up on his paws and approached her at the entrance of his den, as though he wouldn't let her step in any further. He looked over her shoulder to the camp clearing, it all seemed fine.
{Fawnstep} She quickly spun around to face her apprentice, still giddy with excitement. "okay, I want you to jump on that rock over there and plan a way to attack me, does that sound good? Make sure to be careful to land properly." She stepped to the side so Willowpaw could see the rock, more of a giant boulder, sitting on the side of the clearing.

"Attack you?" Willowpaw questioned, more than a little baffled. She wasn't quite sure why Fawnstep seemed so excited about this, but she figured she should just go along with it. She approached the rock carefully and hopped up, her long legs making the jump easy; once she had balanced herself atop it, she crouched, scanning her surroundings. There were a few smaller rocks scattered around within jumping distance, she noticed. Perhaps she could use those, and jump from rock to rock? Or there was the obvious one: push off the rock and jump over Fawnstep's head, or straight onto her back. Actually, wait, I've got a better idea. She grinned to herself, paws tingling with giddy anticipation. She crouched, preparing to spring, and then jumped. She landed neatly on all four paws and shot off to the right. After about a tail-length, she swung herself round and darted to the left, then to the right again, in a zig-zag pattern as fast as she could force her legs to move. Willowpaw had never been a good hunter, or a good fighter, but she had always been incredibly fast and agile. She kept swerving and running until she got close enough to Fawnstep, then spun on her haunches, leaped aside, then sprung again at Fawnstep's flank, her paws outstretched.

Fawnstep fell over, a bit shocked at her tactic. She purred in reply. "Good job, Willowpaw, that's a great idea I wouldn't of thought of that. I would have just jumped on them in a heartbeat." She admitted, a bit embarrassed by her own idea. She slid out from under her apprentice and braced herself for more attacks, not wanting to just stop there.

Shadefang was watching Fogstar in honest confusion, and when he turned around she nearly jumped out of her fur. It took her a moment to process her leader; he looked... so off. "N-No, everything's fine," she said. "Fawnstep, some apprentices, and I went to the east border and found a loner there. She's very frail and... old." She cleared her throat. "We asked her to stay with us, but she refused and is staying on the other side of the stream."

Snailpaw giggled and poked Kitepaw in the stomach. "Maybe I should make you race me every day, so that you get used to it," she said before plopping on the ground beside him. She was pretty winded herself, but she tried to hide how hard her chest was heaving. She didn't want to look uncool in front of the other apprentice.

"She's wise to stay away, Shadefang." He grumbled, turning back to his nest and laying down. "It's not so great here, you know?" He seemed to be talking to himself, not her. He tried to imagine letting an elder into his clan, it would be great for the kits but where would they sleep? What would they do if Cedarclan did attack them? They had enough trouble with the amount of kits in the clan now. "If she changes her mind, she's welcome to join. But Shadefang...if she joins, she's your and Fawnstep's responsibility. Not the apprentice's. Do you understand? You two were the ones to offer our home to her so it's only right you two take care of her for the moons to come."

An uncomfortable silence followed, and Shadefang stared at him a moment longer before dipping her head. "Yes, Fogstar," she said before turning to take her leave. She could understand her and Fawnstep caring for her; that was understandable. But his comment about FogClan made something gnaw at her insides. That wasn't like him to say that.

Fogstar waited for her to leave before leaving his nest and and following her out. He searched the camp for Ashpelt, wondering if he already left on his mission to find Flintfur. "Ashpelt!" He called down below, his fur bristling. He needed his deputy, now. He couldn't help the feeling of something lurking in the shadows for him, he wanted to make sure his clan was well prepared for the moons ahead.

Jayleap shrugged again, glancing over to where Viperstrike was in hopes she would come save him.
She did not.
"It's been okay, I guess. Could be better, could be worse." He searched frantically for another topic. "Um, what were you going to teach Emberpaw?"

"Do you think we should move the queens and kits out of camp? They'd be safer that way, wouldn't they?" He asked, looking to the entrance of the queen's den. He didn't like them being so close to danger but wouldn't there be danger in the territory? He could send a warrior out with them...something. He wasn't so sure of himself anymore but he felt like he had to move them.

Fogstar grumbled more to himself, obviously upset with being called a mouse brain. "Fine, they'll stay. But Ravenstar won't hesitate to attack the nursery, will he?" It was a rhetorical question, the leader was just trying to prove a point. "At the very least heavily protect the dens. I want them reinforced, all of them. There's things in the territory for that, isn't there?" It had been a while since the leader had left camp so he wasn't sure what was growing during the Green leaf.

Aprilflowers Ignoring the throbbing pain in her side Palemouse hobbled over to Sweetmaple. Barely escaping the owl grasp, she took the initiative to stand in front of the she-cat. Fur bristling Palemouse puffed up twice in size to show the owl she meant business."Go back to where you came from you will not make us your dinner!" she hissed swatting angrily at the air to keep the owl at bay.

Owltuft smiled already picturing it,βOh Starclan I can see the clan being overtaken by kits." Talking with Seedpaw he hadn't realized the sun had already set. Straining his eyes against the darkness he realized nothing had changed. There was no glowing rocks insight, maybe it was pointless.βThis trip was a waste of time Seedpaw!β He sounded, he was close to giving up till he spotted a small glowing orb . The glowing orb floated closer till it slipped through the ceiling opening taking the form of a cat. Taking a step forward Silverwing drifted toward the two cats her paws barely touching the floor.βAs if on signal the rocks surrounding them began to come to life. Each stone seemed to illuminate a different color.βCongratulations Owltuft, and Seedpaw on completing your journey.Welcome to the moonstone.βOwltuft stood with his mouth hanging as he was frozen with disbelief. Fogstar brought himself to end of Tall ledge, stretching out for a few moments before glancing to the light that was now casting into the camp. It was reaching around the time for the warriors to start waking themselves up and he had been spending the past night mulling over who could be the overly curious and rather troublesome kit's mentor. He had a good idea of the warrior who would make a good fit for her, though he still was torn between two. He shook his head and called to the cats still in their dens. "May all cats old enough to catch their own prey join me beneath the Tall ledge."
