Firestar was a lot more resilient than Twigbranch(he took a lot of guff in Thunderclan but still he stayed) and less liable to snap at people for small mistakes. He's also a lot stronger than she is.

In what way do you mean stronger? Well mentally for one thing. He was holding the clan together while Bluestar was busy wrecking it, for example. I meant more so physically though. Firestar's one of the toughest customers in the series in a fight and has duked it out with the likes of Tigerstar and Scourge. Meanwhile, Twigbranch does nothing but get slapped around and I have a hard time seeing her defeating much of anything. I can't recall if she's ever actually won a single fight.

If Twigbranch wasn’t busy thinking about others, I’m sure she could win a fight fair and square. She has been trained by three different cats, so in theory, I think she could do well. EDIT: I also want to say that she rather die than fight with her sister and that was another reason why she took a hit. EDIT EDIT: She also jumped on a cat from above to help Violetpaw. EDIT EDIT EDIT: Other times it’s shown she’s quite strong is when she gets hit by a car and survives; throws a cat over a wall of fire; and is able to push a cat out of the way from a big branch coming at them.

Being trained by a lot of different people doesn't always equate to performance. Just look at Breezepelt, who trained with all of the Dark Forest and yet remains a loser even afterwards. Helping in a two on one doesn't say much. Again, even weak warriors like Darkstripe can manage to do a lot with a numbers advantage. Out of the lot, only throwing a cat is impressive, but it's made less so by the fact that it was an apprentice and this series has a...weird relationship with apprentice sizes. Besides, Firepaw was able to punt Brokenstar into the air while he was much younger, so even there, she falls short.

I want to ask Kate about Twigbranch’s skill set.

Well, it was mentioned in the books that Twigbranch was similar in skill to Squirrelflight I believe. I cannot remember which book said it, but I know she’s not too weak.
Firestar and Twigbranch are very very similiar to me. They make rash decisions but mean well and just want to help others. They both break rules but do it because they believe they are doing the right thing. They both are energetic and often optimistic and both had a doubt of a sense of belonging due to their non-clan blood. But both are generous and kind friends to those they care about, and both were trained by multiple mentors too!

I just asked Kate on BlogClan a moment ago, though. I agree about her and Firestar, though.
