; - Pepper Tongue / In the camp clearing.
It seemed that this tom was particularly peppery during his waking hours, no matter how long or shortly he had gotten to sleep. This morning, however, had been different in terms of his energy. Pepper Tongue found himself stirring awake a few minutes after he heard Black Sea and Umberlee leave the warrior's den, one after the other, leaving him and his sibling Thieving Rat still nestled back to back, the other cat remaining in a peaceful slumber. He, on the other paw, instead stretched himself out and let out a long, silent yawn, paying no mind to how Thieving Rat groaned as they felt him bumping into their flank. It wasn't soon after that he padded out of the den, tail perking up as he looked for a good spot to clean the mess of his curly fur. Settling down near a shady part of the camp, a little ways off from the fresh-kill pile, he sprawled onto his side to began grooming his flank.
It wasn't usually in his character to be so quiet -- something about today simply felt off to him. During this moment of silence that enveloped him, Pepper Tongue tried to find the source of his temporary gloom. Was it the weather? No, it was actually quite nice today. Was it because he didn't sleep well? No, he found it rather comfortable in his nest last night. Was it because . . . he was missing Silver Drizzle?
The tom stopped his grooming abruptly at that thought, feeling his fur bristling with an odd sense of anger. Pepper Tongue tried his hardest not to ponder on his brother's death anymore than he should've. There was a lingering guilt within him, one that still flared up during certain days that were out of his control. There were days when he wondered how his life would be if Silver Drizzle was still alive, other days wishing it had been him who was buried at the Temple of Passing, and some where he simply missed having him around to fight and hunt alongside with. Nevertheless, the sudden despair that came over him caused him to feel crabbier than before, upsetting him rather than saddening him. Pepper Tongue huffed as he returned to cleaning himself, perhaps a bit more brashly now. He would have to stop by the nursery later to see his mate and their kits to cheer himself up again. Meanwhile, he was too absorbed in his own world to notice if anyone was warily trying to approach him . . .
(i hope it's cool if i piggyback off of this! c: ) Sleeping had always been a bit of a struggle for Mallow Sprout. Every morning she felt the need to apologize to her denmates for possibly tossing and turning every few minutes. Today was one of those particular days where she considered actually acting on said intuition. The she-cat stretched her woolly limbs as she lie on her right side, and her mouth opened wide as she began to yawn. Her legs relaxed, and she sluggishly opened her orb-like eyes. Taking a moment to adjust to the sunlight streaming through the warriors' den, her gaze shifted around. Who had had the displeasure of sleeping near her last night? It wasn't Black Sea or Umberlee, she thought, they were just leaving. A few other cats were stirring or already sitting up, getting ready for the day. That's when Mallow Sprout's eyes met Pepper Tongue, looking a bit cranky. She couldn't blame him, given recent events. But maybe he had just woken up on the wrong side of the den, she reasoned in her mind. Nonetheless, maybe a nice greeting would help. Mallow Sprout shifted and eventually stood up on her paws, and lumbered over to the tom. Her head was slightly dipped downward, not knowing how to properly approach this fellow warrior she hadn't conversed with much before.
"Good morning, Pepper Tongue," she mewed, her voice still a bit raspy from having slept. "Your fur is rustled, but not from tossing and turning."

"Well, I am at least thankful that you managed to make some use from the expedition." She said bluntly, as always. It was hard to tell with Distant Star if she was rude, or perhaps just a bit socially clueless or uncaring. But those who knew her well enough, like Black Sea himself, understood that she was just a very professional, level headed cat. It was why Ashenstar had chosen her to be the clan's deputy, after all. "You're not scheduled for patrol duty, so if you'd like you can spend some time cleaning your fur. Of course, if you wish to service your clan, we would be very thankful. Now that the two territories are combined, border patrols are much more important." For a split moment she glanced to Ashenstar, as if seeking his approval. It was a bit heart warming to see the molly still a bit unsure of her new position, and seeking some sort of guidance. Ashenstar just smiled a little wider and nodded his head. "Indeed, don't know when any foxes or loner may be prowling around." He offered simply in response. Distant Star turned her attention back to Black Sea. "One moment," She said, then pushed to her paws and lifted her head, sounding off in a loud, authoritative voice. "Morning patrols are about to be sent out! Bubble Chaser, Skull Rattle, Pebble Skip, Thieving Rat, Cool Cucumber, Prowling Mouse, front and center." She listed off the names as her gaze went around camp. She sat again and waited for her warriors to come to her.
(i managed to find it okay! but quoting replies has always helped c: ) Bubble Chaser's ears were always the first to react before he did. It was a funny little quirk that the others pointed out to him from time to time - and it was even more silly when he slept. It was as if a part of his body was awake, and he wasn't. But when it was Distant Star's loud, commanding voice calling his name, it was hard to continue sleeping. Hardly a moment after his ears went erect, his eyes shot open. He took a bit of time to stretch and groom himself to present himself to the deputy, but Bubble Chaser was never known to be late. (That was his own judgement.) Giving a few quick greetings to his awakened denmates, he trotted out into the clearing and located Distant Star. Though it was never too hard to find the proud she-cat in a crowd. He sat himself down in front of the deputy, ensuring he made eye contact as he greeted her good morning. "Front and center!" Bubble Chaser repeated enthusiastically.

Black Sea stood there, wondering what Distant Star had planned for him now. He had promised Umberlee he would be back soon but now it was looking a bit like he wouldn't be seeing her just yet. He didn't know whether he felt relieved or a tad upset about the turn of events, then he heard his son's name called. He felt his heart swell with pride as he turned to look at the young tom. He was hoping he would be able to see him out on a patrol, was Distant Star going to send them out together or was he just meant to sit here until after she had set them up? He flicked his tail impatiently, wanting the cats to gather more quickly now so he could figure out why he was singled out.
His eyes flashed over to Umberlee while he waited, wondering what she was thinking now. When he saw her still where he left her his heart ached, perhaps he should have talked to her more in depth about what she was feeling instead of running away like a scared cat. You're a warrior, not some lousy kittypet!
Warm Milk watched her kit race out of the den and let out a small wail, as though she was upset about it. She looked to Munching Caterpillar and nodded her head. "Okay...we can ask..." She looked around, wondering who was responsible enough to watch her kits. She knew he had suggest Rotted Leaves, which of course had been her idea in the first place, so why not? "Okay, Rotted Leaves it is. Should we tell her...or have it be a little fun surprise the kits can do for her?" She joked, now excited. It was true, she hadn't left the camp since Wing and Dizzy had been born but she had a reason for that. She was scared of them getting hurt, after losing Mantis Gaze her mind was filled with worries about them.
"I think the grotto would be fun, it'd show how strong and brave we are, wouldn't it?" Her eyes glazed over, obviously lost in thought as she imagined them returning to camp with stories about what was at the end of the Grotto. It could be anything, perhaps something really useful to the clan! Or just rock, rock was probable but she didn't want to believe that.
Spider narrowed his eyes sniffing at the prey on the pile before wrinkling his nose. "I think I'll stick with momma's milk, thank you very much." He let out a hmph before turning back to Web and Dizzy. "Aren't we supposed to be going to see Rotted Leaves? You told me we'd do that today, Web!" He complained, scrunching up his face. He obviously wasn't happy with the idea of being out in the sun, for whatever reason that was.

Munching Caterpillar purred with delight, his bigger, bulkier body brushing against hers adoringly. "That's more like the little trouble maker I know." He mused, beginning to bound with her towards the elders den. His long, fluffy tail curled in hers as they walked, looking towards the fresh kill pile where he watched their kittens near the fresh kill pile. It was only a short walk to make it to the smooth, C-like rock that provided a shady overhang, and smooth flooring of the elders den. From the open facing entrance, Munching Caterpillar could already see Rotted Leaves laying with Bracken Splinter.

"Hold on just a second!" Wing complained, looking to Spider with a frown. "It's not like the elders are gonna die anytime soon, sheesh! There's a lot more interesting things around here anyways." He said as idily poked the dead form of a plump mouse. He gazed back up to the mountain of prey, and then a devious idea hit him. He giggled to himself quietly, then looked over to Spider... No, he wouldn't do it. Besides, he looked too small. Wing turned his gaze to his sister and cheekily grinned. "Hey sis. I bet you're too mouse-hearted to climb it." He teased, gesturing with his tail to the fresh kill pile. "I'll get some feathers for your side of the nest if you do! But, I know you won't."

(replies are gonna be scarce for a bit, i have a D&D session now!) Bubble Chaser's paws shifted excitedly as he took in Distant Star's orders. His fur fluffed up as he stood just a tad taller, feeling proud to get to lead another patrol. Even though he didn't have a mentor anymore, he liked to flex his leadership muscles, as if trying to prove it to someone. Perhaps it was only himself. He turned to the rest of his clanmates, with the biggest grin possible visible on his feline features. "If Distant Star says that Apple Bloom Grove is best, then I suppose we should stick to her advice." The tom suggested. His eyes flicked about them. "I hope that we can bring back a good feast for all of UniClan! Anything you all want to do before we head off?" Bubble Chaser stood up, a bit quicker than anticipated, and pawed involuntarily at the grass. His speech may seem official enough of that of a hunt leader, but his actions would remind any other cat of a naive apprentice.

Black Sea made his way to Umberlee, glancing over to the three apprentice's they'd have to take out with them. "Umberlee, would you like to go out with me on a border patrol? We are taking Prowling Mouse, Buzzing Bee, and Dusted Path." He was pretty sure the two of them could handle the three apprentices, especially so since one of them was Prowling Mouse. He knew that Dusted Path was a bit of a pawful already so he'd enjoy her extra paw to help him. He could see his other soon not too far off, Pepper Tongue, should he ask him too? He seemed a bit busy right now and a six cat patrol was too many probably, they could easily cover the borders by themselves.
Warm Milk purred as she pressed herself against Munching Caterpillar's side, glancing to the kits for a moment before looking to Rotted Leaves. The elderly she-cat was cleaning her pelt, occasionally biting down on what Warm Milk could only assume was a tick. "Hi, Rotted Leaves! I had a question..." She began, shifting her paws uneasily. Something about the elder's presence always made her feel...off. She had no idea why this was so, Rotted had always been kind to the kits of the clan offering up stories or helping critique any moves they wanted to show off. The calico she-cat lifted her head, her red eyes filled with curiosity.
"Yes, Warm Milk? What could it be?" She inquired, glancing over the queen's shoulders to the kits. Warm Milk instinctively looked back over to them, they were still safe and sound.
"Munching Caterpillar and I were wondering if you could keep an eye on the kits while we went out, it shouldn't be too long." Rotted's head turned to the side as though she was mulling it over, before quietly agreeing. "Thank you, this means a lot." She dipped her head to Rotted Leaves and gave Munching Caterpillar a small smirk, they could exploring!
When Spider heard the dare come from Web's mouth he turned to Dizzy. "You don't have to do that, you know! You could fall..or squash the prey.." He meekly mewed, his ears flattening against his head. Why did he leave the nursery again? He couldn't get in trouble there, he was safe against his mother's stomach. What if Dizzy got seriously injured? The prey pile looked huge! Then again, his perception of what was big and what wasn't was a bit muddled. He crouched close the ground, he hadn't be dared to do this at least...but he would still be helpless to watching this disaster happen.

; - Dizzy / With Wing and Spider.
Once she got her brother's attention after yowling his name a few hundred times until he turned around and noticed her, Dizzy huffed and puffed as she flounced in his direction, returning his mildly annoyed expression with a mildly annoyed expression of her own. "Bro! You always wake up before me and never wait for me, meanie." The she-kit yipped back, seemingly pouting as she reached her brother close enough to face him, mimicking his action of stomping his paw. It seemed that her annoyance quickly faded away as soon as Wing began explaining what he and Spider were doing at that time, her curiosity outweighing her emotions.
"Hey Spider! Your Mama said it was okay for you to go out now? That's cool!" Dizzy turned her attention to the tiny tom for few moments, not minding how timid he might have behaved with her, for she soon returned her attention back to her brother. Alongside him, she awed at the mountain that was the fresh-kill pile, her wide eyes blinking rapidly as she took in the whole sight. "Papa loves the fresh-kill pile, you know," She mentioned in a matter-of-factly tone, "He always brings the biggest and yummiest and most delicious-iest mouses ever." The she-kit neared the pile and rested onto her haunches as she sniffed at a mole a little ways off the pile. "Rotted Leaves? We can visit her soon. We can show her how good we are at hunting leaves!" Dizzy suggested, her little tail lashing around eagerly. It dropped when she heard Wing's dare.
If there was any word to describe Dizzy, it would not ever be mouse-hearted. The very word brought her fur to a considerable heat, one that occurred due to anger. "Oh, yeah!? Watch this!" Without another thought to her actions, only wanting more than anything to prove her brother wrong (and take some of his feathers to add to her nest) the tiny she-kit gave a leap onto the fresh-kill pile, her sharp claws grabbing ahold of the body of a small squirrel. She seemed to struggle to hold on, but determinedly she continued to make her way up the pile, completely oblivious to who could have been watching her. (and oblivious to the fact that she was definitely going to be in some sort of trouble.)
; Pepper Tongue / With Mallow Sprout.
Still angrily lapping his fur, his ears pressing lowly against his head and his tail lashing, it seemed to take Pepper Tongue a moment to acknowledge the she-cat's presence -- it was due more to his realization of being caught in the middle of what he consider to be an outburst, and his quick following of embarrassment that came afterwards. Slowly he pulled himself away from his flank, his ears perking up normally and his tail dropping behind him, maroon eyes eventually raising up to meet Mallow Sprout's.
"Oh, good morning," The tom tried to sound nonchalant, despite his body language directly contrasting that, "I see you're admiring my fur? It's a new style, you must have not seen much of it yet. It's quite new." Pepper Tongue attempted to use his known wit to avoid any personal questions about himself, but somehow he had a feeling he would end up sharing something with the she-cat whether he truly wanted to or not. "How about you, Mallow Sprout? Didja sleep well?"
; - Buzzing Bee / In the camp near Distant Star.
The apprentice dropped off his fresh moss at the entrance of the warrior's den, preparing to replace it for the old, worn pieces, when he suddenly heard Distant Star announce his mentors name. Now, if hadn't been too sure if it had anything to do with him, but considering she had been announcing the morning patrols at this time, Buzzing Bee was led to believe that he might have a chance to join Munching Caterpillar in said patrol. How exciting! He thought happily, making sure to leave the moss arranged neatly for when he came back to clean the dens later.
With a skip in his step, he managed his way to the group that had gathered around their deputy, craning his neck to look for his mentor. The young tom faltered slightly when he didn't notice his bulky mentor near the group at all, but he quickly recalled seeing him somewhere near the elder's den with Warm Milk. Maybe they want to spend time with Rotted Leaves? That's alright, they need a break to be together. Hopefully Distant Star will still let me go on patrol with everyone else. Buzzing Bee reasoned silently, positioning himself somewhere where the deputy would be able to see him and hopefully send him along with another group.

(morning everyone! i play D&D 5e with my group, Cactus c: ) The groggy she-cat blinked slowly, meeting her eyes with his. Interestingly enough, he sounded calm and witty as he was known to be. But his fur seemed to stick up a bit more than to warrant a "style", as he put it. The way he groomed himself showed hints of agitation, or irritability - it was almost as if he was attacking his own pelt. There was no fooling her there. "Sleep is sleep," she said matter-of-factly, "'Well' is always out of the question for me. But you, you seemed to have it worse than I. Say, did I perhaps bump into you or squirm?" Though she was probing the tom for information, Mallow Sprout still held her own insecurities closer. The last thing she wanted to be was the sourer of someone's morning by an unconscious kick to the stomach. And with Pepper Tongue's temperament more than obvious to sense, she figured the possibility was there.

What?! Black Sea had left for five minutes and come back with an assignment for baby sitting. Umberlee looked at him and laughed, her whiskers twitching with amusement. "Of course I will, I don't know what you'd do if you were alone." The small pink molly pushed to her paws, giving him a swift lick on the cheek. She knew that around others, especially the apprentices, Umberlee had to hone back on her open affection. Black Sea had a reputation to uphold. Umberlee wasn't offended that they weren't as lovey-dovey around others, she understood that it could be rather embarrassing. Her ears perked up when he mentioned Prowling Mouse. A bit of worry ran down her spine, knowing that he was the youngest of Black Sea and Bubble Chaser's kittens. She hadn't talked with the young tom much, but wished to become closer to him. She liked to think that his elder kits were a bit more mature, and wouldn't hold any ill will towards her. But, it was always more... Tricky, with young ones. She knew that she could never fill the paw steps that their father had filled. "I hope everything goes well..." She said very softly. She lifted her head up again and scanned across the clearing for the apprentices, spotting Buzzing Bee by the deputy.
Distant Star | In Camp | With Buzzing Bee, and a lot of other cats probably | Mentions ... | ˏˋ h o s h i e ˎˊ
Distant Star watched as her warriors began to come together to discuss how to go about their missions for that morning, a twinkle of pride resting on her heart. And although it still felt very strange to see cats that she had only recently been fighting to the death with now acting as her ally, it also filled her with a sense of... hope. After all, if AppleClan and Cloudclan could put aside their generations of war, and come together, couldn't they get through anything? Her navy blue eyes lowered to Buzzing Bee, a familiar face from CloudClan, and one of the first apprentice's that were ever given their ceremony in UniClan. Although her gaze slightly warmed when she saw him, a smile did not touch her lips. She flicked her tail towards Black Sea. "If you didn't catch, Black Sea will be taking you out on patrol today. Munching Caterpillar is taking a short break, just for today. Expect your regular training tomorrow." She said bluntly.
Ashenstar, who sat behind Distant Star, fixed his eyes on the small black and yellow tom, smiling softly, eyes lost in reflection as though he were thinking back to his own clan.
Wing | In Camp | With Dizzy, and Spider. | Mentions ... | ˏˋ h o s h i e ˎˊ , ☾ѕησσzє☽
He couldn't believe she was doing it! To be fair, he probably should have expected it, he and his sister were never one to back down from a challenge, but this might be one of the more dangerous things he asked her to do. Without a care, his sister flung herself onto the pile and began to scale the pile of prey. He quickly darted a look around camp to look for their parents, knowing if they saw they would disapprove, but them seemed busy talking to the elders. Wing turned to look at Spider, playfully battering his cheek with a paw, not enough to hurt him or knock him over, but just a small nudge as if to tell him to lighten up. "Haha! You won't make it sis!" He taunted, a bit angry that she was doing so well. Dizzy was making this look easy! For a moment he debated tipping over a piece of prey at the bottom and making the whole thing topple over, he had to fight the urge to do so. His paws impatiently bat on the ground as he watched her climb. "Don't look down!" Wing teased.
Munching Caterpillar | In Camp | With Warm Milk and Rotted Leaves | Mentions Bouncing Flame | ☾ѕησσzє☽ , smokey
Munching Caterpillar dipped his head respectively to Rotted Leaves, just barely keeping back a sigh of relief. Thank the ancestors! He knew his Milky Moo would appreciate the time away from camp, even if they had to both fight through their paranoia for the first couple hours or so. "Thank you so much," Speaking of paranoia... "If anything goes wrong, please don't hesitate to go to Bouncing Flame, I mean - he's not really one I would trust the most, but he knows a little bit more of how to care for the kits, sort of. If they get hungry, they're old enough to eat on their own, just pick them out a nice mouse, but make sure you tenderize it for them first, their teeth still aren't super sharp and we don't want them to have any discomfort. Bed time is sun down, but hopefully we'll be back before then - but if not they need to be told a bed time story each night, they especially like stories that involve them as warriors. Wing's warrior name is Super Wing, and Dizzy's is Dizzy Dance -" Munching Caterpillar began to rattle on, and on, and on, and on, mentioning every precaution under the sun. His mouth didn't stop moving, it was clear that someone had to knock him out of this or he'd be on loop for hours.

Skull Rattle was about to launch into a tirade at Livid Storm, but,, fate intervened as his name was called out by the deputy. He bounded past the tom, his tail swishing in annoyance. The one eye'd tom moved slowly, almost sulkingly towards the deputy, sitting in front of Bubble Chaser, the older warrior who would be leading the patrol. Maybe... Maybe hunting would help get his mind off things... But, it really didn't help that he was in a patrol with two CloudClan cats... The formerly AppleClan warrior forced a smile to Bubble Chaser. He didn't buy his whole cheerful thing. The tom came off as a really nice guy, but Skull Rattle thought that it was all a lie. How could a cat who tries to be so friendly fight nearly to the death with others. Skull Rattle might have killed CloudClan warriors on that fateful night, but at least he didn't try to smile and act happy afterwards... The smile he had forced to Bubble Chaser dipped away and disappeared, his eyes glazed away towards his apprentice who he saw coming out of their den. "Sounds greeaat."
(Please don't take Skull Rattle's rant as anything out of character ;w; I love Bubble Chaser, Skull Rattle's just an edge lord.)

Black Sea gave his tail a quick swish, look over the two apprentice's he had so far. One was still unaccounted for...He narrowed his eyes and turned his head to look over at Dusted Path, the young she-cat was watching them from afar. "Come on now, Dusted Path. We don't have all day to see it around waiting for you!" He yelled. Finally, it seemed, she was rushing up to meet them. She seemed a bit disinterested in this patrol, instead she was looking off to the side of camp. "Should we head off now?" He asked Umberlee, hoping his mate would was ready. He knew it might be a bit weird for her, his kit was with a different cat after all but he held hope the two of them would grow closer during this border patrol.
He could see it now, Umberlee, him, and his kits all being happy like one giant family. He glanced over to Bubble Chaser, wondering how the tom felt about him heading out with their kit and his new mate. It didn't really matter to him how he felt, he just hoped it wouldn't cause any drama later on for them.
Spider continued to crouch close to the ground, his eyes closed as she made her way up to the top. He was going to get in so much trouble later for this..he just knew it. He could feel the time ticking by, as though it was counting down to their doom. He flashed open his eyes quickly and began to climb after Dizzy, calling out to her. "Dizzy, stop! Get dow-" He missed his footing, making a piece of prey slip out and causing him to topple down to the ground below. No no no, this can't be happening right now!
Rotted Leaves smacked Munching Caterpillar with her tail as she got up and walked by him. "I know how to raise kits, you overprotective tom." She joked, before rushing over to the kits. She had seen Spider climbing after Dizzy on the fresh-kill pile and she didn't want the parent's to worry and not go out. She shot a look to Wing when she got over there. "And what do you think you're doing?"
Warm Milk watched Rotted Leaves run off in pursuit of the kits and she tried to remain calm now, they were safe in her paws. "Come on, you big furball." She teased, ushering him out towards the camp entrance with her tail. She could see that Rotted was talking to them about something but her view of the kits was blocked by the elder's frame. Hopefully, everything was okay. She pushed the feeling of dread aside and continued on her merry way, today her and Munching Caterpillar would have fun out of camp.

(i don't envy you with how much you gotta post my dude, it's okay if you forget sometimes! also bring on the edgelord, i like having conflicts of interest :3c ) Noting Skull Rattle's reply, almost oozing with sarcasm, he simply nodded and watched his apprentice approach from their den. He knew that tensions were still sure to be high considering all that had happened - putting aside years of quarrel was none too easy - but Bubble Chaser decided to take it upon himself to be a beacon of light in times like these. He figured that keeping his head up and following orders was the best way to move on. After all, those in his authority surely knew what had to happen to make the Clan truly united, right?
As more members of the hunting group gathered around, Bubble Chaser spoke once more, "If everyone is present, I say we get a move on before the border patrol heads out, as to not get mixed up with everyone. Follow my lead!" His voice was more commanding amongst the sea of chatter in the clearing. He turned towards one of the entrances and began heading towards it, his tail swishing gently in his stride.

Pebble Skip darted out of the apprentice's den as they heard their name being mentioned in the camp clearing. "Sorry!" they squeaked as they skidded to a stop in front of Skull Rattle. They peered anxiously up at their mentor as they hurriedly moved to stand beside him. "Prowling Mouse snores," they stage-whispered. It wasn't exactly a secret that Pebble Skip had taken an almost immediate dislike to Prowling Mouse - the tom's know-it-all attitude grated on Pebble Skip and had a tendency to leave them off-balance and uncertain, which usually manifested in Pebble Skip lashing out in return. And once Pebble Skip had a grudge, they held onto it with all the tenacity of a badger. ~~ Red Thunder shook out his fur as he emerged from the warrior's den, yawning expansively. Clan life was...different - certainly much different than rogue life. It took some getting used to, being surrounded by other cats, all with their own ideas. Also, he was outranked, which he never enjoyed. ~~ Haunted Dirge slipped out of the den, squeezing past Red Thunder's massive frame. Out of habit, they sought out Lonely Wolf and Livid Storm - Haunted Dirge usually appreciated Lonely Wolf's company, but Livid Storm's was usually more company than it was worth these days, with Skull Rattle on his tail at every waking moment.

; it's no worry, lost!! no need to apologise, it's a-okay c: (also i'm so sorry if my replies aren't so good, i finished writing them right after i woke up from a nap lol)
; - Buzzing Bee
The young apprentice perked up happily once he was acknowledged by Distant Star, getting back onto his four paws to catch up to Black Sea as soon as he could. "I understand, thank you Distant Star!" Buzzing Bee called over his shoulder as he scuttled off to follow the older tom's group.
"Good morning, everyone!" The black-and-yellow tom greeted the patrol with a cheerful tone, trying not to show if he felt a bit awkward without Munching Caterpillar to guide him that day. Even without his mentor around, he decided that he would still try to be as efficient as he usually was. Buzzing Bee now patiently awaited to travel somewhere with his patrol, wondering where they would go to first.
; - Dizzy
Still determinedly scrambling up the pile, the she-kit tried not to show how tiring it was getting climbing so much while looking so cool in front of the two other kits far below her. No matter how courageous she was, however, a seed of worry grew in the tiny heart of Dizzy the more she climbed, realizing how much of the mountain of pile was left despite her ardent climb. Was it always this high . . . ? Hearing how Wing told her not to look down, naturally, she decided to look down.
Oh heck, she's made a huge mistake.
The striped she-kit stopped cold in her tracks the moment she looked down, taken aback by how high she had climbed up. Suddenly she felt her hindlegs turn to mush, her stomach flipflopping from the sense of panic she was starting to feel. "Br-bro! Stop distracting me--!" But it was her brother who would cause her demise, no, not him at all. It was Spider! The moment she looked down was when she happened to notice the tiny tom try in vain to climb up a piece of prey in attempt to call out to her, instead toppling over it and causing the whole pile to writhe around. It began a chain reaction, until it shook enough for the magpie she was hooked onto to fall and knock her over, pushing her back down the entire way she came up.
A loud thump was heard once Dizzy reached the ground, the she-kit too shocked from the suddenness of her situation to properly react. Should she cry? Should she pretend to be tough? Was this fate worse than getting a lecture from Papa? It took a moment for her to sit back up, shaking her head as to recollect her thoughts. "Owwie. That hurt." Her voice came out small, now humbled by the shame she was feeling. All she felt like doing now was going back into the nursery and hiding from anyone who saw her fall -- but for now, all she could do was whimper and rest onto her side to lap at her flank, trying to calm her rapid heartbeat. Gosh, she wanted Mama . . .
; - Pepper Tongue
His thick-furred tail thumped against the floor in an annoyed manner, although his words showed nothing close to the emotion. "No, not at all Mallow Sprout. I assure you, I can handle a kick or two." The tom joked good-naturally, feeling perhaps a bit guilty of possible causing the she-cat embarrassment. He thought silently for a few seconds, collecting his thoughts before beginning to speak once more, "I was actually more upset at . . . well, not upset, I've just been . . . thinking about something. I've been missing someone, that's all. It's frustrating he's not here."
Pepper Tongue squirmed in his place, as if feeling ashamed for admitting his feelings aloud, especially ones that were as heavy as guilt. He hoped he didn't bring the mood down between him and Mallow Sprout, but neither did he want to make her feel bad for something she didn't do. He usually wasn't wasn't unreasonable with his emotions.

Lonely Wolf perked up at the sight of Haunted Dirge making their way out into the clearing just behind Red Thunder. Their eyes met and she stood, padding ahead to meet them halfway. "Haunted Dirge, hello," she greeted them in her usual soft voice. The she-cat enjoyed spending time with Haunted Dirge, even when neither had anything to talk about; their personalities seemed to match up enough that they could enjoy a bit of small talk with some extended silences without her feeling uncomfortable. Realizing she should probably take the lead in a conversation (since she had started it), Lonely Wolf continued. "How are you doing? Did you sleep well?"
"Hey!" Prowling Mouse whirled around to face Pebble Skip, tail bristling. "I can't control if I snore or not!" The young tom had noticed that his denmate wasn't exactly fond of him, but he wasn't entire sure why. He'd thought it had to do with his age, so Prowling Mouse had begun to work extra hard, sharing everything he learned with confidence in hopes of impressing the slightly older apprentice. "Come on, surely I don't keep everyone up! Right?" He looked around expectantly, ears flat and eyes narrowed. "Right?" Admittedly, he did regularly wake up with a sore throat, likely due to snoring, but he had never considered how loud it might be. Not that I'm going to apologize for it! I can't help it!

(Mouse nooo baby) Haunted Dirge hummed, swaying a bit from side to side as they normally did. "Like the dead," they said, with a slight titter. Then they sobered up. "And you? Did you sleep well?" They hoped so - Lonely Wolf had the rare gift of letting silence stretch without making it awkward, and besides, whenever she was tired Haunted Dirge felt tired too. ~~ Pebble Skip snorted and kept walking past Prowling Mouse. "Whatever," they muttered. "Try shutting up sometimes," they suggested. "You might make more friends."
