Intro: Unlike most people I don't have a new years resolution where I want to lose weight and for a long time I didn't think I needed to lose weight. I've always been active in sports from a very young age and played outside with the other kids until the sun went down. Certainly, as an adult I do have my insecurities about my body and do compare my body to others, but I'm also proud of it. If that sounds strange to say?
I'm not the strongest, and yet I can pick up weights and be shameless about my palms developing callous because the newest muscles are being made.
I'm not the fastest runner, however, I've done about three hundred 5k's, one hundred 10k's, and ten half marathons. Most of them were for charities that were close to my heart. Ah, look at that. I guess I do have emotions after all. Lol
I'm not the best in any of these disciplines, though I do enjoy them and I still work on improvements.
For this incoming year is particularly new for me because I decided to get a heart rate system tracker for all my workouts. More on that later. Eventually, at the end of January, something inside me decided to do something new for myself. Such as start counting my calories. I managed to do a little bit of research and found my number. Of course, I tried it a couple times before thinking to myself. "I'm not an expert...I think I need to see a doctor about this." Even though I've been counting my calories for two weeks already, I visited the doctor's office and the nutritionist for proper use of calorie counting. Yes, this method is used to lose weight, but mostly to better shape my body. I've been lifting weights for almost two years and I thought, ironically, I would have abs at this point. That wasn't the case. So the calorie counting method is used mostly to see if my way of eating is fueling my body, to the best of my ability, since I do workout about 5-6 times a week and, in hopes of doing that, I can start forming those luscious abs. Lol
If you've read up to this far, hi! You might be asking yourself. "Okay, but what's the point of this Open Diary thing?" And you probably want a serious answer. Honestly, I just wanted another place where I can document my fitness process. Where I can write down something new I learned about and people can comment on it if they want to. It's for the shits and giggles of it. It should be a fair warning I am not an expert on fitness or any health tips I would highly recommend seeing a doctor if you were to start a new workout or a new method of losing weight. Additionally, since I did recently get out of an abusive house hold there are parts of this dairy that does document or state my feelings on that particular week. I'll put up warnings when this stuff is going to be written down. After all, if anyone does read this, this stuff already happened and it would be tagged as the week it did.
If you're still reading this then have fun reading. You might find this helpful who knows. Still take care of yourself and have a wonderful day :^D

(ใฃโโกโ)ใฃ โฅ Week one of Calorie Counting โฅ .........................๐๐ช๐ท. 28 - ๐๐ฎ๐ซ. 3
Choice of Items to Use: * Bluetooth heart rate tracker * MyFitnessPal app * My colorful planner with Pusheen stickers xb
Gyms Used this Week: * 24 Hour Fitness * Gold's Gym * Outdoors
Most Used Form of Workouts: * Running * Interval running * Weightlifting
Dairy Entry: I ran my first 5k for 2019 on 1/19. My finished time was 50 minutes for that one and it felt like I took forever to finish it. I signed up for more 5k's and one incoming 10k, which I'm scared of at the moment. It'll be okay though. I always get nervous when I do these timed races >.<
At least I got to eat at Danny's after the race.
Nutritionist advice: (By the way their names are Melissa and Tal, which is funny because Tal is shorter than Melissa and I. She stands at 4'10) Both of the ladies looked at my planner and the apps I use for the gym access and noticed I've been doing the same workouts for years. According to them it's time to do some change up and do the calories according to my workouts.
If I do workout I can eat up to 1699 If I don't do any form of movement that day it's 1366
I knew my number was way too low and I actually needed to eat more. Silly me.

Gyms Used this Week:
* 24 Hour Fitness
* Gold's Gym
* Outdoors
* My university's gym
Most Used Form of Workouts:
* Running
* Rock climbing (something new to try and attempt to keep up my heart rate at 150 - 160) * Weightlifting/ body pump
Diary Entry: I'm meeting Tal and Melissa this week to check how my workouts out and I'm using the MyFitnessPal to keep track of my calories. So far I'm staying either under 1699 or right at it. I knew I was supposed to be losing weight, but it scared me the first week of calorie counting I immediately lost four pounds. The women at my gym were telling me I shouldn't be panicking. "Losing four pounds in a week is good!" I was praised for it, though I learned in my biology classes losing one pound a week is really good depending on your weight. Scattered brain I went to check in with the ladies and they said I was fine. Of course, their advice was if the number continued to drop that much then it should be checked into.
My highest calorie burn for this week: 675 Max Heart rate: 180 Average Heart rate: 131 Exercise to achieve this: Bodypump
My lowest calorie burn for this week: 27 Max heart rate: 91 Average heart rate: 70 Exercise used to achieve this: just floating in water. Lol

That I would forget my mom never existed in my life. Ever since I was a kid, I always wished for a better mother. A mom I actually needed, but no. The mom I have is an actual monster and all she cared about me was I was bring in money for her to sit at home. She never was a mother to me and she probably never will. Last Friday she used my brother to try to get me to come back home to her and her boyfriend. Which I strongly object against. I already worked this far into my independence. Why would I want to go home now? I pretty much guessed, so she could trap me again. When I was vocalized this to my mom she gotten mad. My fiance and I left in a rush and she followed us. She tried ramming the car to us to get us to stop.
Fellow reader, if you're reading this, yes we did get the cops involved. Not much came out of it besides they documented this incident and highly suggested to me to not see any of my family members until the investigation is over or things calm down.
For the rest of the week I cried. I still couldn't believe my mom could do this to me. That she actually wants to physically harm me. She used to hit me as a child when I wasn't obedient enough (she always had her high standards no one could reach). I think I made the weird conclusion she wouldn't touch me or hurt me anymore if I wasn't living with her anymore and I was wrong.
For the rest of the week I couldn't eat or do my regular workouts. I barely ate 1,000 calories a day, which I know is extremely dangerous. But I think how the actions occurred on Friday just about killed my spirit and, just for one week, I was in a mental hole where I couldn't get out. At least for this week I was okay staying in that hole and just pouring my soul to anyone willing to listen. I apologize deeply to my body because I've done everything to take care of it and this was one week I didn't.

Diary Entry: Since Tal and Melissa were pretty concern about me, I visited them and they hugged me. My calories count wasn't back to normal until the middle of the week when I was hitting 1699 or pretty close to it. At this week I focused more on making sure I got back to working out and eating my recommended calories. I ignored my phone calls from my mom and only made certain my fiance and I were safe.

Most Used Form of Workouts:

Dairy Entry: I'm still striving after what happened with my mom. I was better at maintaining my calories, keeping up with all my workouts, and prepared for the next 5k I had this month. I managed to finish in 49 minutes, but ran back in the field to help a group of kids get out of the track faster. The event was pouring with rain and mud everywhere. My mom was always against me running in the mud because she thought ladies are not supposed to be dirty or something stupid like that. This was a charity run for children with early forms of heart diseases and will need surgery. I've met a few parents where their children didn't survive, though they still come to these events anyways to help bring awareness and raise money. The money does only supply to our community for families that can't afford the treatment. This was very worth it to participate in and raise money for.

Gyms Used this Week:
* LA Fitness * Outdoors
Most Used Form of Workouts:
* Running
* Exploring
* Swimming * Rock climbing indoors
Diary Entry: I think I was just chilling for this week. Not much is happening besides school and catching up with some mental health. This is where I wanted to explore more of the hills on my campus, where it rained a lot, and it felt so refreshing. It was a four mile jog with it and it was fun. I do want to explore there again, though I should probably bring pepper spray because there are empty tents there with a few needles that looked used...
I was visiting the nutritionists again, they are keeping tabs on me, and Tal was questioning if my bluetooth heart rate tracker was working properly or not. She didn't think I was burning the calories within my workouts as accurately, which caused her and Melissa to argue a bit. A football coach noticed the confrontation and approached the three of us. Once the women explained the situation the football coach asked me if I felt comfortable being tested on a treadmill that would involve me being wired. I agreed and we scheduled to do this the next day. It was another heart rate system that would test the numbers while I ran on the treadmill. I only ran a mile and I managed to burn 266 calories. Tal was stunned and Melissa worn a smirk that I made me somewhat chuckle. The reason why Tal didn't believe I was able to easily burn that many calories was because when she does a triathlon she barely burned a 1,000 calories. This is when the head nurse heard about the argument and explained it to Tal and I. People burn calories in a different way depending on how vigorous the workout is and how long it goes. It also depends on metabolism. There a few other factors she explained, though she detailed it in my case how I can burn calories within one workout over other people. The case of another might vary.
My highest calorie burn for this week: 600 Max Heart rate: 188 Average Heart rate: 124 Exercise to achieve this: jogging four miles

Gyms Used this Week: * 24 Hour Fitness * University's gym * Outdoors
Most Used Form of Workouts: * Running * Weightlifting
Diary entry: I was kinda of proud of myself this week. Finals was approaching and I still managed to find a way to workout during the week and one day out of the weekend. I ended up going back to the hills where I wanted to explore more off campus and run that course, which I swear if I'm not careful enough I am going to be found dead. I managed to keep my fiance on the phone, though he recommended next time bring pepper spray and don't go to places where I have a bad feeling on something. (Update 3/25: There is a trail off campus where other runners do, but there are warnings of snakes and mountain lions. I ended up talking to the police to ask them if anyone is allow in that path. They replied with, "Yes, you are allowed to take that path, but if you go then you were warned." Fair warning. It makes me consider going because I like exploring and stuff, though the risk of safety isn't a good idea. I mean I can probably look for a running group and see if safety in numbers helps? Who knows. I might be playing stupid at this point).
Another thing about the update from the nutritionist. I managed to bump into them while I was coming off the mountain trip/run and going to take a shower at the campus gym. Tal and Melissa did look at my incoming calorie burn and the difference in what I eat. Thanks to the fitnesspal app I do keep track of my calorie intake. So they ended up noticing I'm not eating enough calories....dang man. I didn't realize I was supposed to eat the calories I was burning. Meaning I was only sustaining 1699 calories and not eating the calories I burnt....I had a surprised Pikachu meme moment there. Great job Dream...

Choice of Items to Use: * Taekwondo uniform * laser tag gear * Regular exercise clothing for the majority of these workouts
Most Used Form of Workouts: * Running * Laser tag * Taekwondo
Diary Entry: It's a little noticeable this week that my workouts were a little bit different from my regular routine especially when I couldn't make it to my weight lifting classes this week. Oddly enough I missed that one the most and I'm not sure why until I realized I actually enjoy weightlifting. Lol
Yes! I joined a taekwondo class and I started my first two sessions this week! My teacher is name Master Lee and he nice. He extremely patient with me as far as I noticed. Before I paid for my classes he did have me fill out a paper sheet on why I was joining the class and it's pretty simple. 1. For self-defense (my mom's boyfriend did say if he sees me in public he will beat me and take me back home. I reported this to the cops, but it's just a threat until he actually attempts to do it. Thanks mom he a real nice guy :|).
2. It's something challenging and seems fun to do.
The classes are not that hard, though it is weird how I came off extremely sore after the first class. I did so many kicks and some of the movement was new to me, though I didn't think it was that physically demanding. It was hard to move the morning after that class, but I still jogged for Tuesday. I just made sure to get some sleep and move my jog to the afternoon hour instead of the usual morning. I was fortunate enough to still do my runs for this week, however I hope I can do weightlifting next week in between my classes and starting up my weekend hobby.
Edit: Not that I want to complain or anything I ended up bruising the top of my foot. Way to go :^D
This was also my birthday week and like a total nerd I dragged my fiancรฉ to play laser tag with me. Before my personal life became drama driven I used to go to Laser Quest a lot with my fiancรฉ. Almost every weekend. Strangely, that place was a safe heaven for us when my mom demanded so much out of me and I couldn't handle it emotionally. It's something I never told anyone else and we went because my fiancรฉ enjoyed the activity back when he lived at Oklahoma. Even though I have a hard time making friends and when I became a regular there, I became good friends with some of the workers and another regular there. We just called each other by our usernames and his name was Nintendo. I know it's weird and all, but it was something where no one knew my name and I didn't know theirs. It was fine and I could live with it. Finally, when we did show up I was surprised how much they missed us and how concern they were (the workers and Nintendo) about us. Eventually, I told Nintendo what happened and he just said. "You're so brave to be going through this." He not a deep guy, but I can tell he cares. Somehow I'm always surprised when someone cares. At the end of the night I've gotten so many hugs and a free birthday pass for free stuff. I never felt so loved in a place where you just shoot lasers at each other. This was probably the only time the workers, Brian whose the manager there, wrote my first name on the gift certificate.
Of course, with the popularity of Reddit's Entitled Parents/kids subject Laser Quest is the harvest field of people like that. Even though I still love playing laser tag, it's people like that can ruin a day's play. I don't let it bug me too much and it's fun overall. If anyone wants the tea on that I can post about it. Lol
My highest calorie burn for this week: 2,100 Max Heart rate: 190 Average Heart rate: 144 Exercise to achieve this: Playing laser tag from 8pm - 2am (each game is 30 minutes long unless it's the iron man challenge then it can last an hour to play. I didn't skip one game nor did I rest in between games) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ My lowest calorie burn for this week: 300 Max heart rate: 181 Average heart rate: 135 Exercise used to achieve this: Running two miles.
