For the majority of TRS, do you think Twigbranch was too harsh of a mentor, that Flypaw should've tried hard enough, or do you think both of them needed to meet each other halfway?

I skimmed a bit of TRS, and I guess she's just harsh. Like with Millie, both cats don't know any better when it comes to handling things right, and I really do think people are just throwing the "abusive" line for everything. They're not abusive; they're just harsh.

Twigbranch was way too harsh but Flypaw should have tried to be better too (like actually listening to her mentor)

Honestly Flypaw should've tried better. Her not being able to pay attention that well does not excuse her from learning life skills like everyone else.

I think Twigbranch could've been less harsh and Flypaw probably if she could, could've tried to focus a little more, but then again the apprentice is pretty much modern day Moth Flight and I can see her having ADHD like her too. It's more on Twigbranch for me imo. Like I get that Twig was frustrated but she really didn't need to go so hard to where Flypaw had to go to her own mother to comfort her from Twig's words. That was just a little too much.

She was too harsh, to the point that Flypaw went to someone else for comfort. But at least Twigbranch realized her faults (she did this a lot in the final book which is good) and improved, so their relationship would also improve. So at the moment I think it's fair.
