He's just a really boring villain and I didn't like how the Erins brought him back in OotS. It made ThunderClan seem foolish, giving him a second chance, despite the fact that he nearly destroyed ShadowClan. He didn't really have a personality, either, and that's why he feels so boring to me. Characters like Mapleshade and Ashfur at least had a personality, even Thistleclaw, despite the fact that he was generic, but Sol was just manipulative and that's it. There's no interesting positive traits, no interesting goals, he just wanted the other cats to do his dirty work. The only reason he even became a villain in the first place is because he didn't became a warrior fast enough. At least the others had better reasons, but Sol just felt like a lazily written villain to me. I don't want him back, I don't understand the big deal about him, and he has no personality whatsoever other than to "destroy the Clans".

He's a victim of bad writing like most of the Warriors series.

I like Sol, every villain in the series until then was all brawn, then we got Sol that only by talking managed to wreak havoc around the clans without needing to even lift a claw himself.

Sol was never compelling enough to be a main or recurring villain. He worked for the book he was around in POT but after that he shouldn't have been brought back. The thing with him is he never seemed to have a real purpose to his actions, which might lend itself to him being more of a sociopath if the erins were willing to be more adventurous with their story telling. It never really made sense why he even came all this way to find the clans and do what? Like was his end game to rule them all or something? He didn't seem to have a goal. He just liked messing with them because he had no friends.
But really, the erins have a passion for wasting interesting characters and storylines with lazy writing.

I liked him until he was revealed to have been involved with Skyclan, and especially with the mangas. He was alright in TPoT, but he lost his original flair after that. Now his reasons for being the way he is is weak.

I don't like him because he has the personality of a used car salesman, trying to be slick and just overall creepy.

He was fine in her first appearance but it seemed like lazy writing in later series.
