Even though he appeared only once, he kinda stuck with me. He was a bad leader, yes. He lost all his lives incredibly quickly, and he is the reason the truce was created at fourtrees. He died by falling off the great rock, and he died a gruesome death. Also, he is the only character I can remember from tales of the clans (the only warriors book I own physically) besides Greeneyes for her terrible name.

May I ask why you love Mapleshade? It's kinda hard to explain. I think it's fueled by my burning hatred of Appledusk.... I don't like her backstory, because it was written terribly, but I kinda like her. She went crazy. |

May I ask why you love Mapleshade? It's kinda hard to explain. I think it's fueled by my burning hatred of Appledusk.... I don't like her backstory, because it was written terribly, but I kinda like her. She went crazy. I do sympathize with her to a certain extent- it's not like she went out and got pregnant after Appledusk accidentally caused that cat's death. But honestly- murdering random cats, including an harmless medicine cat and a pregnant queen... Even if those cats were kind of jerkish at one point, that still doesn't warrant killing them, you know? I agree that her backstory was poorly written; the Erins tried to victimize her by turning everyone into jerks. That, combined with that fact that she's just so overused, makes me unable to appreciate her madness. Plus, she was pretty inconsistent in OotS, going from wanting to obliterate a family line to randomly wanting to destroy the Clans as a whole, as well as trying to drown random apprentices. |

She is just so irritating, and she always picks fights and ahhhhhhhhhh Hollyleaf was better SHE IS AWFUL Alright. Well to start of she doesn't "always pick fights". The only times she did that were in the first two books, times that would be used to show her development as a character. When we see her as a warrior she much more matured, and we even see her reluctance to fight when Birchfall provokes the fight with WindClan over the river. She only does help out because she didn't want to leave her father to fight the patrol alone, and shows regret over it when they return to camp. I also don't think it's fair to compare her to Hollyleaf since Dovewing was more of her replacement that Ivypool. And I would be interested in more of your points, as I'm kinda in the mood for a civil debate. |
