Idk, to me it seems the only ones who want her are Needlepaw and Rowanstar. The rest of the cats don't seem to really like her. Like Ratscar said "she's not really one of us" and I'm sure at least most of the Clan agrees. I don't think Pinenose likes her, or being her foster mother, all that much either
You'd think taking Violetkit would be a decision made by all the Clan, not just an apprentice and the leader. But considering how dysfunctional ShadowClan is, I guess I shouldn't be surprised...

Rowanstar only seems to want her so ShadowClan can be special. I don't think they really care about her or want her very much.

Typically decisions are made by the leader and the Clan just either agrees or disagree. But the leader has the final say. And Needlepaw didn't really "decide" she just had claim on at least one of the kits and Rowanstar used it as his advantage.
I though Pinenose was fine from what we saw of her in T&S. And was it mentioned that it was Violetkit who chooses to not play with Pine's kits and play's alone?
I don't see it as them trying to feel special, they're trying to fulfill a prophecy that was given to all the Clans.

Rowanstar just wants to be part of the prophecy. He doesn't want her as a cat, but as an object. The rest of ShadowClan seems to think the same way or not care about her at all. Needlepaw seems to be warming up to her, though.
