-- kai nicollier ; selyria.
Although the Inn wasn't his primary business, it wasn't as if Kai didn't take pride in it as well. Of course the rooms were cozy but the bar in particular was his doman, the tavern being frequented by not just patrons of the inn but by the people here in the outskirts of Ilysia. He could interact with more people that way, which was just how he liked it. There was more hustle and bustle here than further out, since technically this area was still a part of the capital and saw a lot of business as well as travelers. He preferred it that way; if he had opened closer to center, he would be more conspicious. But an informant this far out?
Granted, he got more information than a guard might think. The Inn at Ilysia Croisement was indeed a crossing, just north of the main capital and near the upper docks. He saw travellers heading into the city and housed visitors who didn't want to spend as much as an inner city keep may ask. Residents of the area spoke with him; town-edge guards, dock workers, tailors, butchers, everyone; so he knew many things about the locals, the capital, and news from other countries. Something he especially liked to get from the guards who, tired of sitting with no action, spent their time flirting with Kai and their coin on his drink. Loose lips sink ships, you know, and if Kai wasn't as high price as he was, the war would be much more dangerous than what is it now. While he doesn't particularly care for his King's imerpial views, he doesn't like the Vellevyn government either. It wasn't his fight, anyway, so as long as he was comfy, it was all right. If things disrupted his business and his business, however, he might make his wares known to some military. For now? He profited off of it.
At the same time, that doesn't mean he saw all of his customers as pawns, as tools. The people he met, talked to, got to know--the sort of mundane daily life and domesticity of it was new to him and he welcomed it. The lives of these people, their happiness, it was... nice, and warm. Their smiles made Kai happy, too, and it was so different from how he used to live. Another reason he didn't open an inn deeper in the capital was because he hated the city, but for now the true danger had gone. Besides, he had more power now, more connections, and a few sword for hire that would come to his aid if necessary.

Elena FenrirTraevine
With the tranquil smile that Traevine’s appearance brought to her lips, Elena could never imagine residing anywhere else. The nation’s climate was interesting, with there being cold winters breezing over the lands. Yet, the famous but dormant volcano brought some warmth to the chilly atmosphere in the form of hot springs. It was that volcano that brought about the existence of Traevine’s artful capital. Never was there a dull moment when wandering the halls of Fensir, the mighty capital of a fine kingdom. It was amazingly carved into the volcano’s actual crater, and the craftsmanship has forever been admired. Being of nobility, Elena’s childhood was spent greatly in that city, although she grew to admire the beauty much more as an adult. Even as a Queen, Elena always seemed to find or learn new things whenever she walked through Fensir.
Elena didn’t just consider Fensir a beautiful sight, but the kingdom as a whole. Yes, it was true that Traevine’s weather and terrain didn’t make it the most hospitable place. Nonetheless, she found humble pride in knowing she was able to live there. Perhaps she was bias, she would admit that. Although, with the war seeming to brew toward the main continent, Elena was relieved more than ever that at least Traevine was at peace.
For now.
A walk down the palace halls was taken, although Elena’s true destination was aimed elsewhere. Two loyal guardsmen followed their Queen as she stepped outside, the cool winds instantly rushing over the group. Elena shivered but otherwise wasn't bothered as she continued to trek toward her husband's location. Finding Valaerys outside of the palace was not uncommon, although it did make Elena wonder. After spotting the king standing isolated with only Ghost beside him, she glanced over her shoulder at her alert guards. Giving them a thankful smile and a nod, she murmured for them to stay behind. They nodded in respect and stepped back while the white-haired woman approached Valaerys. She tilted her head curiously, coming to a halt as she studied her husband’s back. He was troubled. Elena knew it without even having to get a glimpse of his face.
Valaerys never truly wanted this life, a life where a crown weighed him down. Years spent as a guardsman had made him content, until the Mirrormere presented him with a new and undesired destiny. He was made king without any real preparations of how to rule a whole kingdom, and yet he prospered regardless. Valaerys was an intelligent man who had a good sense of patience and justice. In Elena’s opinion, he was Traevine’s greatest ruler, even though he never yearned to be. She knew he still had thoughts about what could have been if the Mirrormere never chose him. Valaery’s life would have been greatly different than what it was that day. Fate worked in mysterious ways, though. Everything happened for a reason. If Val had never become the king, perhaps he would have never married nor met Elena.
Or maybe, just maybe, they were meant to be together in every universe.
The dark colors of Valaery’s robes almost echoed the troubled aura he was giving off. Outfits tended to vary with Elena, although she was dressed in stark contrast to her husband that day. She was dressed like a regent, donning a white coat contrasted with darker gray stripes, although the white was still the focus that drew the eye. There was also a silver brooch clasped along her collarbone. It resembled a common sight in Traevine, the royal symbol. House arms changed as the rulers did. With the current king being Valaerys, the present sigil was of a dragon curled around a sword. It was a strong symbol that also displayed loyalty and bravery, only a few of the many virtues that Val possessed. It was interesting, the way the king and queen both dressed, carried themselves, and expressed their virtues. Imagine live dragons being a part of Traevine’s society. Now, imagine Valaerys and Elena both on the backs of said dragons.
It was a strangely natural visual, wasn’t it? It was like that sigil was made for both. All of it had been fate.
Elena finally continued to approach her husband, her eyes softening as she looked down at the wolf-dog. She smiled and bent down just enough to allow her own gloved hand to run across Ghost’s fur. With a soft exhale of breath, she straightened up again and stood beside Valaerys. “What are you thinking about?” Her voice was warm and soothing, although she could answer the question herself if she wanted to. Her eyes fluttered downward to the piece of parchment clasped in Val’s hands. She knew the contents. The news was all across the world at this point, Elena’s lips curling slightly into an uneasy frown. Clearing her throat, Elena studied the horizon before them. “Do you think…” She murmured gently, trying to phrase the question carefully.
“Do you think he would come here?”
She wanted Val’s honest opinion. Did he believe Brasmid would eventually come to their shores? Again, Elena could guess the answer, yet she longed to hear it from Val’s lips.

nah that would take much more effort we cant just straight up kill the villain the rp just started
just give him drama to cause, he doesnt want selyria to invade but he doesnt want his father to gain any power he would prefer less people to die, less inoocents, for land which means he would absolutely sabotage anything that gives the kilmaens power, that gives his father power
i also added more to his appearance and made his mothre calean, which also better explains his brown skin bc. desert his entire description is fueled with arcken hatred ]]

Calea Queen Anaris
The days passed had been troubling ones, an attack on her kingdoms largest ally and trade companion, causing the death of a young captain's brother. The Merchant Captains of the other countries generally were very open about on goings in their country. All the near by kingdoms were sure to have heard about the recent attack, she didn't like that anyone was moving on the fertile Vellevyn. They were he people's main source of produce and many other forms of food. Not too much lived in desert wastelands.
"Kean, it is this all you heard of the attack? Has any word of future attacks made their way to your ears dear brother?" The red haired woman was clothed in a loose white gown that nearly dragged on the floor. High slits went all the way up both of her thighs showing off the Queens well muscled legs. There were no sleeves but quite a few straps that showed her chest and sides leaving very little to the imagination. She sat in the large throne looking down on her brother who had recently returned from greeting the merchant shipments for the day.
"My Queen there is no news of where Selyrian Troops are headed next, it seems like the returned from the direction that they came from." The tall dark haired man stood from where he knelt before his sister. He wore minimal armor, mainly leather that covered the most vulnerable parts of him. Typical of a Calean man, he wore the dress of the royal guard. As their captain he dressed as such pretty consistently. "News has traveled quickly, but none has come once more, though the people whisper of the possibility of a want for take over." He said firmly, unrest moved across the country, loss of food would be the end of them all.
Nodding Anaris stood making her way down the steps and to her brother. "Kean, I want you to contact the informant. I wish to know everything he knows of this attack and the plans that follow. See to it that he come to me directly." She placed a hand on the man's shoulder gently and walking passed him. "You may go." With that she left the throne room and made her way through the castle. Though her men followed her rather closely she had ordered and made sure that they followed at a distance, she did not like being babied. She'd proven herself a warrior even against a man. The Queen headed to her chambers where she was greeted by her Chamber maid. "Brush my hair Tayla, it has been a bit of a mess after today." The girl nodded and picked up the brush that was laid on her vanity. The queen took her seat the threw her hair back for the girl to brush. "Tayla, do you fear for the kingdom as I do?"
"Your grace it would not be my place to tell you how to run things." The replied softly, continuing to gently brush the long wavy red locks.
"Oh drop the formality it is just us now. My brother is off to fetch someone." Anaris rolled her eyes frowning at the girl.
"Personally, I'd do anything I could to keep the flow of food steady. Unfed people are mean." Tayla said looking at the Queen, "I know first hand your Grace."
Anaris nodded a bit, careful to not move too much, "I couldn't agree more."
Several days and nights passed before Kean arrived at the inn, the residence of the one known in Calea as the Whisperer. Walking into the inn the royal guard made his way to the bar, past the drunken fools. His clothing was different now, blended with those around him and his face was shielded by a hood. The lord had taken a great deal of caution when coming here. Hidden he had traveled alone with just his horse. At 6'3 not many messed with you. "Innkeep there is some business I wish to address the raven gave some information of my arrival I'm sure." He looked down upon Kai, but a smile graced his face after a moment. He knew the innkeeper at least in some ways, often Lord Kean was sent by his sister for these matter. Things small in nature was always someone less important and needed, but for something of this nature and interest of the Queen he came. His presence meant a decent some of money for payment as long as the information was given and held true, and it meant the Queen of Calea was nervous.
