Also this is just an update since I noticed this as I was collecting prefixes! I definitely think that leaders should name apprentices when they become warriors, not necessarily the player(? Not the right term but whatever). You can communicate back and forth with the leader if you really want a name tho, I'm sure most of us will be happy to work with others! i'm definitely willing to work with others! i just gave mine pre-determined names bc they're all older ocs, except for spring!
also - i think if we do that half-clan litter that doesn't know they're half-clan, then spring will be part of that litter ^.^ |

I was in a clan where when a cat was becoming a warrior, she'd make up two names and let the clan(except for the rper of the cat) vote on it. That could be interesting.

Okay so summarizing this the best I can I am very tired lol
Leader of RiverClan (let's call them Palestar for now because I have no name) has always been a super religious cat- like StarClan is responsible for all things good and bad that befall you, and your actions determine whether you're blessed or punished. They eventually become leader, it never really impairs their ability to lead.
Enter drought.
Palestar views this as a direct attack by StarClan at RiverClan, as in their mind River is the clan greatest effected by it. Their first thought is: "What did the clan do wrong?" So basically they go around trying to sniff out any vices among clan members to determine the reason for their divine punishment. They convince others that the wrongs of their clanmates caused the drought, and if they report any poor behavior they should report it immediately so it can be corrected. They get a small, secret group of warriors together to act as their eyes and ears(the way I think of it is like a mafia, but that's not exactly right). Palestar puts eating restrictions in place to avoid gluttony, and punishes those who take too much. You might think you're doing something secretly, until you're summoned for a meeting with Palestar to discuss your behavior.
A right proper regime.
I'm think that if things get serious Palestar might expel the medicine cat from the clan for not communicating well enough, forcing a young inexperienced apprentice into the role. As time goes on, the punishment evolves from scolding to quarantine to starvation to banishment to maybe even death in severe cases.
Let me know what you guys think, I'm down for tweaking it still ^^
