"If she still has her claws, I'm sure she could fight them off." Pearl remarked flicking the tip of her tail. She figured the corner cats couldn't be to hard to fight. She wasn't much of a fighter but her mom and dad did teach her a little about fighting. One could never know when you might have to fight. "I hope she comes back okay."

(Sure!)
Lyra hated living on land. She absolutely hated it. The wet stones didn't drain the water like wood did, meaning that she often awoke soaked through instead of bone-dry as she did on the sea. There was no food a lot of the time, and she was often forced to scavenge for Twoleg scraps. The city was a terrible place indeed, and there was no better way to realise as such than by being chased out of her own home on the docks by an aggressive dog. So, as she was standing there, trying to work out what to do, a fierce wave crashed over her head, soaking her entire body with salt-water. Lyra sighed quietly, starting to move on. What a terrible day.

Caesar almost laughed aloud at her question and he shook his head before he glanced behind him at the shuffling twolegs and carriages on the streets. He shook his head once more before returning his eyes to her and he shrugged. "My gang." He finally decided. There wasn't much to love about Downtown. The cats were always fighting without much reason, there was never much food to go around. It was a nightmare. The Void, though, had been his family since he was just a kid. It may not have been perfect but they were his home, and he would do anything to protect each and every one of them. He had never had much of a family. It had always been just Red and The Void. While it wasn't easy to take care of them they had mostly been loyal to him for as long as he had been the leader and that was important to him. He looked over the she-cat, why did she care what he thought when she was just wandering away from him hunting rats like she was a guard dog? He hadn't been nice to her exactly but yet she still attempted to 'get to know' him. He had barely known Cleopatra but she was a confusing cat already and just thinking about the work he would have to put just in getting her home safely made his head begin to hurt.
Nova gave a small laugh as she began grooming her fur. Cleo may have been a Heights cat but the more she thought about the she-cat being hurt by one of the Downtown loners the more she found it amusing. "I imagine she'll argue them to death before they can even sink their claws into her." The munchkin gave a small shake of her head as she moved onto her tail. She turned her eyes to the gates leading to her twolegs backyard and she shook her head. It had been a breeze for her getting through the bars as it was much too tall to jump onto even for a normal cat but it was impossible for the short kittypet.
Koba felt a cold, familiar feeling rush down his spine. He slowly turned his eyes to the direction his body told him to look and he spotted a she-cat. She was young, less than twenty moons he would guess. He felt the sudden urge to talk to her and Koba had learned long ago to follow these feelings. He moved towards her and his eyes scanned her, she was soaking wet. It was common when the waves were high to be wet by Waterside, one had to watch the waters and learn when to sit close to the edge. He moved forward with no hesitation and when he reached her he lifted his head. "You are upset." It wasn't a question it was a clear statement.

Rex held up his tail to pause his friend. He kept his eyes to the floors as the twolegs swayed. As soon as one dropped a piece of meat from the table. he hurried over and snatched it up. Proudly, he brought it back to Charlemagne. "Here we are. Meals make storytelling much better." Resettling he listened as the other cat told him of the comings and goings of their friends. He nodded slowly. "Is Trudy still hobbling? Last I saw her, a twoleg had accidentally sat on her tail. A heavy one, too, mind you. The crooked thing set her off balance for a while." He took a bite of the meat, chewing slowly. He laughed when Charlemagne mentioned three new kits. "I can see it. Especially when a female is present." He flicked his tail. He'd seen kits attempt to court mates. More often than not, they failed. Being a sailor didn't automatically make one desirable. Especially when the kit was just a den watcher, doing nothing more than changing bedding, cleaning up around the place, and the like. "How'd Barn lose this one?" Rex rolled his eyes at their friends' antics. At the mention of the twolegs yowling, Rex eyed them wearily. "Yes. As does their coordination. We should probably move from the floor in a bit." Charlemagne was eyeing the fallen meat as well, but the eager tom reached for it first, so Charlemagne remained seated and watched Rex weave underfoot of the stumbling twolegs. As he returned, the tom flashed Rex a smile, "Good catch. I did always prefer chatting with a full belly and a warm fire." Charlemagne allowed Rex to take the first bites of the food as he was the one who caught it, he deserved that at least. Taking his eyes away from the meal, the tom watched Rex as about the aforementioned cats, listening intently before turning his gaze outwards once more, his blue gaze following Tyler once more, making sure no slippery hands made their way into his person's pockets, drunk sailors weren't always the most wholesome company. "She's gotten much better, but aye, it's still there. It was a pretty nasty break, glad it wasn't me, but still, sorry that it happened to her. Barnaby was so jealous when she showed her, pretty sure he ended up losing his tail on purpose just to one-up her." Charlemagne paused, his whiskers twitching slightly as he watched a clumsy hand attempt to rob Tyler, but the twoleg merely brushed it aside, grasping the wrist firmly in his hand and muttering some words into the drunk sailor's ear. Pleased with how Tyler had handled it, Charlemagne turned back to the conversation, his head tilting in thought. "I think this one was from an angry fish that wasn't quite dead. It still had some fight left in him." At Rex's comment, Charlemagne reluctantly rose to his feet, he didn't really want to move, but the other tom was more than right, Charlemagne had experienced more than his fair share of close calls. Glancing around quickly, the tabby tom lept up onto a vacant chair, nimbly moving to the table and around the passed out twoleg adjacent to him, then managed to leap and pulled himself up the rest of the way using the stones for leverage and settled himselfuponn the hearth, the stones warmed by the fire beneath them. Glancing down at Rex, he smirked slightly, "How's this?"

Cleopatra waited patiently for his answers. It seemed like he was one of the people who liked to think their answers through. Not a bad thing, for sure, but Cleo knew they could also be the kind to overthink things. She would find out if Caesar was one of those in need of learning how to have some fun. Throw caution to the wind, if you would. He answered his gang was his favorite. "Gang?" She tilted her head to one side. "What kind? What's its name? Can I meet them?" Cleo's tail quivered with excitement. Her curiosity was peaked, that much was for certain. She'd heard of the gangs that dominated downtown and wondered which one Caesar belonged to.
(slowly getting more and more tired. will post Rex later)

Lyra looked up from the ground when she realised that she was being spoken to. For a moment, she was somewhat annoyed at being caught in such a pathetic state, but then she remembered that she was in a mostly-pathetic state almost all of the time, so it didn't really matter. "I suppose I am," She replied in a quiet tone of voice, typical of her shy, introverted personality. "Today hasn't been the best for me," She sighed, tail flicking behind her. A water droplet splashed onto her nose, and she closed her eyes for a moment. She sighed again, slumping her shoulders.

Rex also kept an eye on Charlemagne's human. Occasionally the two cats would run interference with the guests in the den. Typically, by the time anything started where they would have to, it didn't take much to knock the human down to their feet. They were already pretty unbalanced. He let out a laugh when Charlemagne mentioned Barnaby being jealous. He shook his head. "That tom. How on earth has he survived so long? Feeling the need to one-up in injuries. One of these days, he's going to hear about some death and decide that his death must be better." He tsked lightly. "Rookie mistake." Although, Rex was wondering how alive the fish had to be to be able to take a toe off and how Barnaby missed that life in it. Rex rose and followed his friend. He gave a light nod, purring. "Much better." He resettled. He couldn't stretch out, but that was a small detail.

posting this in all my roleplays: Finals week is next/this coming week, so I'll have to be more focused than usual. To do so, I am barring all roleplaying on the forums for myself until they're over, with my last final being Friday the 7th. Although I probably will, technically, have time between studying, I'll likely be brain dead so my responses would be really crappy anyways and with trying to be more literate on here, brain dead is not a good idea. lol)

Twig twitched in his sleep. He was dreaming of him living in a wonderful house, living happily with a warm bed to sleep in and a never ending bowl of food. In his dream he was playing with a small twoleg, and he was actually enjoying it. He chased the toy around all day until the twoleg disappeared. He woke up and found himself in a old broken house. He shivered as he got up out of his small makeshift nest. Sighing he poked his head out. Once seeing the all clear he scrambled out and shook his tan striped coat.” Well at least I had a good nap.” He said to himself aloud. His stomach rumbling with hunger he decided to go hunt.
Starter.

"I can see her doing that." Pearl remarked twitching her whiskers in amusement. Cleopatra was a tough cat. A lot tougher than her that's for her. "Anything else new with you?" She asked deciding to change the subject a little. My people are still looking for a suitable mate for me. I have seen a few pictures, and they are promising." Pearl liked the handsome Main Coon or the Persian. There was also the gray and white Turkish Angora.

Caesar stared at her and his whiskers twitched in amusement at her excitement. When he realized he was growing more comfortable with her the tom quickly stiffened his muscles up. He thought carefully about her questions. It wasn't really a 'type' of gang. They were all relatively the same. She absolutely couldn't meet them. He could practically hear Red yelling in his ear. "It's called The Void, and no you can't meet them. My sister would attack you before you could get your name out." His claws gently moved at the earth and he shook his head.
Koba frowned and after a moment he felt a pull tug at his body. He turned and flicked his tail. "Come." he said, his orange eyes flickering back to make sure she was following as he walked. His tail swayed back and forth and he weaved to avoid a twoleg walking. He easily jumped through a window of a small carriage and he waited in the window as he looked down at her. "Come." he repeated himself. He slipped into the carriage and waited for the she-cat patiently. He knew the twoleg that used this carriage would be busy all day.
Nova let out a laugh at the image of her twolegs trying to find a mate for her "I doubt I'll ever end up with a mate. My twolegs probably want more munchkins and I don't know if I would find a short male cat cute." she shook her head "besides, they get rid of the kits anyway what's the point?" she yawned and glanced out "they could end up Corner cats! Could you imagine if one of your kits ended up starving on the streets when they could be comfortable here in the Heights? It happens much too often!"
(here Glory!)
Morrigan walked calmly as she looked around at the Waterside district. This was her first time coming here and she had crept away from her mother. She glanced around and hissed as water splashed her and she jumped back, her fur fluffing up. Her tail lashed back and forth and she tried to decide whether or not she should hurry back to the Corner and back to her mother instead of searching every which way to try and find out who in the world her father was. She had heard his name once, Fenris. She shook her head and sighed.

Koba easily knocked open a basket and pulled out a warm blanket and set it down before he pulled out what he was guessing was the workers lunch, he pulled the odd looking meat and set it down in front of her "Dry and full." he said, giving a nod as he wrapped his tail neatly around his paws. He closed his eyes for a moment before opening them again and nodding as if he was telling her to listen to him. Koba blinked slowly as he watched her, his eyes moving to the window to make sure the twoleg didn't come looking.

Pearl resisted the urge to growl and instead pined her ears back. Her humans would never give her kits to someone who would eventually dump them! "The point is to continue the bloodline and to provide families with the best kind of cats!" She argued. "Besides, I wouldn't be surprised if my humans decided to keep my kits. As for the corner cats." She hesitated for a few seconds before speaking again. "If they simply cleaned themselves up and acted like normal cats, a human would take pity on them and bring them food or even give them a home." To Pearl, it seemed so simple.

Her head was spinning with questions - how did this tom know what to do? And how did he know exactly what she needed? She pushed these questions to the side, deciding to act now, ask later. She didn't want to look a gift horse in the mouth, after all. The she-cat settled herself on the blanket, internally sighing with relief. It was the same texture as the blankets and rags she'd been given on her old home onboard the ship to sleep on, except softer. She took a small bite of the meat, chewing it, before swallowing. It was definitely odd - an irregular flavour, but nothing to complain of. "Thank you for taking me here," She said quietly, before taking another bite of the meat.

Clementine laid in the shade of a small twoleg den, nibbling on a scrap of fish. Though it was hard getting used to living on her own, she was glad food was easily accessible here. A pang of hurt crashed through the small shekit as she thought about her mother. It had barely been a moon since her mother dropped her off here and she still missed her terribly. She jumped at a sudden hiss nearby and prepared herself to run away- some other cats around here gave her a hard time for being so little. She realized the hiss came from a drenched shecat who'd wandered too close to the edge. "Careful!" she called, she'd learned the hard way that the ocean spray was powerful and cold.
