Here you are! celegg ) Veronica stared at the file in her hand, running her fingers over the name slowly. She shook her head in anger and closed the file. The rather nimble fingered girl had snagged it off the police's desk. It was White's missing person's file. How could this even happen? How were the cops letting this still happen. She looked at the calendar on the wall. Four months. Four months and six days her sister, her mother, and her father had been found dead. Four months and nothing had changed. More were turning up dead. More missing. How could this keep happening? The female heard her name and it drew her out of her own thoughts. "Miss. Holmes. Class is over. The bell rang." Ronnie looked around the room and realized she was the only one still there. "Maybe I just like your class so much Mr. O I don't wanna go to the next." She shrugged and got up, shoving the file in her messenger bag. Her leather pants clung to her form nicely as she stood up. Lets just say she doesn't exactly stick to the years fashion trend and she could care less what people thought about her choice of clothing. Leather protected the skin much better than cotton and she would tell everyone from now until Sunday that they could shove it. Walking out into the hall she glanced from left to right. Most days she really didn't know what to do with herself.

Alita watched in confusion as the boy got up and gathered up his many items. What was he doing with all this stuff, sitting in the middle of Times Square? "Umm, yeah we do. And I know a lot of people. Plus you're kind of hard to miss, with the curly red hair and all..." Alita responded. There was a little too long of an awkward silence that she endured, before asking, "So, where did you move from?" right as the strange boy offered she and Lorelei some chips. "Oh! Uh, yeah, thanks," She said hesitantly, reaching in and taking a single chip from Norman's bag, glancing at her sister with a "here goes nothing!" look before popping the chip in a bag. If only her mother could see her now, accepting food from a strange boy with binoculars that she found sitting in the middle of the busiest place in New York. She definitely wouldn't approve.

Dallas shoved his class papers into his bag as the last bell of the day rang. He got up from his seat. Another boring day had come and gone, and he was still going to have to do this all over again tomorrow. Great.
Keeping to himself he left the classroom. Dallas had always walked to and from school even if his house wasn't in the main part of the city, more in the outskirts. The walk wasn't long in his opinion. He liked to walk. Walking back and forth from school to home was why he carried a light bag with him; he actually used the school lockers to hold most of his books and only brought them home if it was needed for homework.
For some reason or another the boy was in a rush. On his way out he accidentally clipped the side of a girl in leather, and upon feeling the brief interaction of person on person contact, Dallas stopped. "You really should watch out for other people ya know." He was the one at fault here, but Dallas wasn't going to listen to that reasoning.

Veronica turned and looked at the male that had bumped her. She placed a hand on her hip and quirked a brow as he was the one who bumped into her. "Excuse you. I was at my locker. Maybe if you weren't so self absorbed you'd have noticed another human being in your path." Veronica crossed her arms after shutting her locker with a metal clang. Her messenger bag hung from her shoulder as she stood facing the boy who had rammed into her side.
Veronica wasn't one to take crap from anyone. She hated being treated as anything less than a human being and she definitely wasn't going to take crap from him. "I have better things to do than deal with you." She fixed her bag and flipped her hair over her shoulder, making a point to push her shoulder into him as she passed, she was rather strong for her small stature, at least enough to actually push him out of her way. A smirk tugged onto her lips and she looked back, winking at the boy, who was bound to be confused not only by her aggressive behavior, but the playful look in her eyes as she did it.

Self-absorbed? Now how was he self-absorbed for walking down the hallway trying to get home? Dallas looked at the girl with indignation written all over his face and in his body posture. He would have said something right then and there but was stopped short when the girl had the audacity to push into him.
Dallas, not being that strong of a guy, stumbled forward. He was lucky enough to catch himself before falling over or anything else that would have been categorized as embarrassing. Once recovered he let out a growl, flashing a dark look over to the girl. "What the hell? Do you really want to start something because I'll tear you to shreds," he spat, ready to get down and fight right here, right now, in the middle of the school hallway.

Veronica laughed and turned back to face him. "You really wanna fight me? You won't like the results." She teased him, clearly trying to rile him up now. This was fun. She loved when they had a temper. And fighting in school? Why not she could always do her homework in detention just as well in her empty apartment.
The girl took two steps closer to him. "I should warn you. I am well trained." She put her hands up, offering him an out. Years of jiu jitsu and karate under her belt gave her an unfair advantage and not to mention her recent graduation from an underground ROTC group. Girls weren't allowed in the regular ROTC. Her short stature and frame gave off an unfair assumption that she couldn't take care of herself, and her jacket covered her arm muscles entirely. Shifting into a defensive stance she waited, watching, the smirk never leaving her face.

Dallas was all bark and no bite. Literally. It didn't stop him from trying to fight though. He was always the kind of person that picked fights that he wouldn't win, yet he still believed that he would.
He stood where he was as the girl took two steps closer to him. He tightened his jaw, glaring at the much taller person. "I can take you, then you'll be running with your tail tucked between your legs." His words weren't much of a threat considering they were coming from a guy who barely reached 5'3" and was skin and bone.

Veronica giggled at his little threat and shook her head. "Take me out? To what dinner? That actually sounds really nice." She teased, winking at him again. He really was fun to play with. Taking another two large steps closer to him, barely a foot and a half between them now. "Do tell me. Where are you going to take me for dinner?"
Her eyes sparkled in amusement, one hand on her hip, the other read to deflect his advance, if he were to actually try it. Part of her had a feeling he was all talk, but she was prepared anyway. Ronnie knew she could push people's buttons, but it was sure fun to do it, which was why she trained herself to defend her big mouth.

That stopped him from his aggressive stance.
What?
Dallas blinked, his head tilting to the side. He didn't even care about the annoyance that was buzzing in his body right now or the fact that this girl was but a foot and a half away from him now. He was more confused than he was angry now. "I didn't say anything about taking you out." Seriously, all he had said was "I'll take you". As in, "I'll fight you", not "I'll take you out on a date". He didn't even think the girl was attractive in looks or personality, there was no way he was going to take her out on some date when it was pointless.

Norman Walters
Norman paused, reaching up to gently grab some of his wild ginger curls. Yeah okay, those were pretty hard to miss. ”Heh...right,” he said, looking down for a second or so before he looked back up to answer her other question. ”I’ve moved around a lot. But right before moving here, I lived in Detroit, Michigan, and before that it was Seattle, Washington...” Why was he listing the states? Everyone knew where Detroit and Seattle were.
He cleared his throat again, bringing the chip back back to his side before placing it into the backpack. ”Anyways, I should head off, I need to find a good coffee place before I can continue my investigation, I’m gonna be up all night again and if Kai sees me making coffee at home, he’ll have my head for the whole ‘not sleeping’ thing again,” Norman rambled with a small roll of his eyes and a fond shake of his head.
Sure, it got in the way of his plans and he often had to find a new way to work through it, but it was still nice knowing his brother cared enough about him to try and get him to sleep. It was useless, since Norman never slept, but the thought behind it was still nice and that’s what mattered.

Veronica's smirk widened. Of course she knew he hadn't said anything about taking her out. Doesn't mean she couldn't twist his words a little. This was the most fun she'd had all day. "What a shame. I could really go for a burger." She shrugged and began to turn leaving him there. "I'm a fun date. You're missing out." She really didn't feel like kicking the poor boys behind, even though there would be no one to see it, which would be good for his embarrassment.
"Maybe next time pretty boy." She glanced back at him again and looked him up and down. "Well prettyish." She shrugged, facing the door, ready to leave again. If she left then she wouldn't have to fight him. Veronica really didn't want to beat him. Well she didn't have to. If she got him into a headlock then the whole thing would be over. Maybe if she just did that this whole thing would've been over before now.

Dallas had never done well with random people just randomly hitting on him. It gave him a squeamish feeling. Not to say that he didn’t experience attraction, it was just rare for him. He had to really know a person, or at the very least feel like he could click with somebody. And he for sure didn’t click with this girl.
”Go get your own burger then. And stop trying to hit on me! That’s gross and uncalled for,” he snapped, hoping she would stick to what she had implied and leave.

His tone made her outright freeze at the door and turn back, looking at him. He had the audacity to say she was uncalled for. Narrowing her eyes she gripped the door handle tightly. "Maybe you shouldn't be such a jerk and had just apologized for bumping into me we wouldn't be standing here right now."
Veronica closed her eyes and tried to reel in her temper. "I am sorry I made you feel uncomfortable. I was just teasing you. I didn't actually want to go on a date with you. I was just trying to ruffle some feathers." No longer standing before him was a girl trying to agitate, instead there was a genuine look of regret and concern on her face.

Dallas took a deep breath. He knew he could be temperamental, and he was trying to hold back more often now, but this girl was really pushing him. If he got in trouble and his ma asked why he had gotten detention again this year then he was going to tel her word for word what had happened. ”This isn’t about me being a jerk right now. Maybe I could have been at fault in the beginning, but you made it all creepy by hitting on me. I’m not going to apologize for being weirded out by your random advances, serious or not.”
This girl had ruffled his feathers alright, just not in the way she had seemed to be intending. ”I don’t want your apology. Why don’t you go off and get that burger you wanted, huh?” Dallas just wanted to go home now. He had more important things to do. Like look into those murders again or pace around his room from the annoyance that was sure to still be eating at him over this entire interaction. At least at home he wouldn’t punch somebody. The most he would do would be tossing his homework out the window again.

Steven nodded his head a little, grabbing his old friend's shoulder in a friendly manner, aswell as Abbey's- giving Percy more personal space before pointing to a rustic looking place across the street from where they were. It looked warm and inviting, yellow lights hung from the ceilings, it looked kind of empty- but of course open. It wasn't dinner rush just yet. The inside looked carefully and well put together, wood carvings and metal poles. All together it looked professional. A place you would pick up a cup of coffee and read a book at.
"That's a pretty good place, it's warm too. Plenty of space.. I know a guy who works there."

Veronica shook her head a little at him. He had a worse temper than her. Maybe she had overstepped, but the moment he said he didn't want her advances she had stopped. Even though they weren't real advances in the first place. Taking a deep breath she opened the door. "Whatever kid. I have a murder to solve. So I don't have time to pat your ego and make you feel better anymore."
She started to walk out of the school and called over her shoulder. "I'm a vegetarian. I don't actually eat burgers." Honestly Ronnie wasn't sure why she'd stopped to say that, not even the slightest clue. Walking out of the school she headed down the stairs towards the main road. She had about a ten block walk to get home and she wasn't looking forward to it.

Anybody else and Dallas would have been interested in somebody else looking into murders. Right now he just wanted to get home and be as far away from this girl as possible.
Dallas was still annoyed but at least the girl was leaving. With a huff he checked to make sure his bag was secure before leaving the school, going the opposite direction of the girl so he wouldn’t somehow run into her a second time.
