Ruby
She smiled and sat back, licking her jaws. She was full, and content. As she began to groom herself, she couldn’t really think of what else to do. ”So, now what? Would you want to go inside, or explore the neighbourhood? Or do you want to go in the forest and see if we can find that she-cat of yours?” Sure, she just ate, and is feeling a tad bit sleepy, but she felt like she should do more. Maybe Smog had a plan. Hopefully.

((collided Another young cat would be fantastic as currently Spirit is our only apprentice aged cat! I know Jasmine would be up for a youth to take under the wing, I'll leave it to Lycaonia to say how she'd feel about Emiko having an apprentice.))
Jasmine | Pearl | Shorty with Mimi, Oliver and SpiritSeeing how thoughtful Oliver was with Spirit got the wheels in Jasmine's head turning once more. Even though he didn't talk much, the young tom was patient and cared about Spirit's well-being. Perhaps he'd be a good match to being her mentor if they both stayed. With everyone safe on the other side, Jasmine did another double check before starting across the path. They were halfway across when a roar broke through the silence. The large cat, who was still hobbling slightly, picked up their pace. The harsh surface of the thunderpath scraped their paws as they pushed to get to the grass. The monster zoomed by, blowing dust and tiny rocks up at the cats just as Jasmine reached their goal. They coughed and shook their pelt, doing their best to ignore the pulsing in the pads of their paws. A quick glance down showed a drop of red against the pink skin. "If everyone is ok, let's move on," they said calmly. Pearl was stuck gaping at where the monster had almost hit the cat that was leading them. As the reality of how dangerous the world outside her den was set in, she felt a gently nudge. She turned her head to see Shorty looking at her with a questioning gleam. The patchy she-cat closed her mouth and gave him a determined nod before the two got in line behind Jasmine. Badger | Berry with Shadow, Tawny, Pepper and Emiko
Just as Badger was settling down to wait for the clan's leader to come back, a loud yowl sounded through the trees. Immediately the large tom was back on his paws. "Sound like anyone you know?" he asked, looking to Emiko and Berry.
Berry shook her head. "No, but we should check it out anyway," she answered, already going off in the direction. The ginger couldn't ignore any cat that could be in trouble, it wouldn't be right. She still remembered how bad of shape she'd been in when Jasmine found her last moon. She heard pawsteps behind her but didn't look back to see who all was following.
It didn't take long for her and Badger to come across a fluffy black cat curled up. They exchanged a glance and Badger tilted his head toward the little tom. Berry understood, she was smaller and would be less threatening. She took slow steps, getting increasingly lower to the ground until her belly was brushing the grass. "Hey kid, are you alright?" she asked softly.

He paused, thinking. "If you like, you could show me around your housefolk's and your home," He suggested.

(( collided, cloudheart I have no issues with Emiko getting an Apprentice ^^ I don't believe anyone else has shown an interest yet, so I doubt there'd be any problems with it. Also, I may make an Apprentice of my own, if that's alright.)) Mimi, Oliver and Jasmine with Shorty, Pearl & SpiritOliver nodded, happy that the young she-cat didn't take it the wrong way. He let out a small sound of panic as his gaze was drawn to where Jasmine was crossing the Thunderpath. Put of him was hissing that he should have offered to come back for their guide and future Clanmate, but mostly he was just glad Jasmine had made it across alright. He sighed with relief, touching his tail to Spirit's shoulder in reassurance as he heard her murmured words. Mimi haltingly padded forward, worried about the cat that had been so kind to offer them a home when they were lost about what to do. "Are you sure you're alright?" She asked, worry clouding her voice as she kept it low enough that the others couldn't hear. Her fluffy tail twitched nervously as she gazed up at Jasmine. Shadow, Tawny and Badger with Emiko and Berry, also with Pepper and Obsidian"I'd best go with them," Emiko rushed out, eyes worried, "That sounded painful. You three, stay here please. If a cat called Jasmine, Winchester, Royal or Prince arrives before we get back, please tell them where we've gone." She nodded to the three and bounded off after the scent of her friends, skidding to a stop with wide eyes beside Badger. She paused there, letting the smaller Berry continue creeping forward. Emiko's paws shifted, wanting to go to the injured cat, but not wanting to make him bolt. Shadow sighed irritably, but grudgingly nodded back to the she-cat and glanced around. Deciding he might as well use the time wisely, he found a soft spot to curl up in and began to groom his fur. He had chosen a spot with plenty of space for the two she-cats to join him if they wanted. After all, he had already taken one under his wing, might as well include the other, especially since Pepper seemed to act a bit younger than her age.

Ruby
A big yawn gave away just how tired Ruby really was, and she nodded her head. ”You know, that doesn’t sound too bad of an idea.”
Grabbing one last nibble of her food, Ruby slid through the flap door into the kitchen — more commonly known as the food room. Pointing her tail to the wall directly across from their entrance, she gestured at the six bowls; three for food, and three for water. ”That’s where dinner is served. Every seventh sunrise we- uh, I get special canned food. I’m still not sure why, but I don’t argue!” Ruby’s tail twitched a bit as she stared at the bowls. Two of them were filled with stale pellets, alongside old water.
They aren’t gonna come back. Why do you give yourself this false hope?
Pepper
The next few moments seem to go by in a flash. A cat yowling, Berry and Badger running off, followed by Emiko... Getting herself together, Pepper notices the remaining tom grooming himself. There seems to be room for her, so she decides to take the opportunity to relax, and maybe converse with the tom and she-cat. The only problem is, what should she talk about? She wasn’t used to mingling.
Obsidian
Pawsteps thrummed the ground around him. Is this where it ends? Eaten alive by who knows what? The thrumming grew louder and he screwed his eyes shut tighter, trying to curl into himself and disappear.
The soft mew of a cat startles him, but he dare not move a muscle. He manages to stay ominously still, until a cough wracks his frail body. Well, I guess there’s no point in pretending to be dead now...
Getting to his paws, Obsidian winced and pulled up his paw to ease the pressure. He looked up at his... attacker? Saviour? Who’s to say? Except, there’s three of them. A ginger she-cat, up close and personal, and a burly tom and another she-cat off to the side.
Did... Did the cat ask me something...? Oh! The tom took a nervous gulp.
”Y-Yeah, I’m uh... I’m fine.”
((oops sorry for taking so long and also the huge post))

"Yeah, are you okay?" Spirit asked. "We should stop and take a look if you're hurt. Travelling whilst injured is never a good idea. That's what my father told me, anyway," She added, not wanting to look overly confident or knowledgeable. She was just a kittypet.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tawny dropped to her belly in a patch of sunlight, before rolling over, sticking her paws and tail up in the air. She hadn't felt grass in so long - the city parks were often stalked by gangs of city-cats, meaning that she couldn't go there once she was on the run. The young she-cat purred softly, wriggling her hindquarters slightly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Smog nodded. "Okay." He paused for a moment, noticing the bowl full of stale food. He turned to Ruby, hesitating, before speaking. "Was there another cat living here?" He asked her gently, not wanting to pry. How long had Ruby been without company for?

Ruby
Was there another cat living here?
The words quiver her ear fur, and she slumps her shoulders, which have tensed without her realizing. A few heartbeats pass before she turns to Smog with a smile, albeit a bit forced.”Yeah, my brother and sister, Obsidian and Sapphire. They decided to head out into the forest to find that ‘clan’ thing. Honestly, I might have gone as well, but I figured my housefolk would be pretty upset if we all left. But that’s okay, I like it here!”
She flicked her tail, her gaze trailing over Smog to the door. ”Although, I would also like to be out there and explore.” She nodded to her owners.”I think they’re less interested in me since I’m not a kit any more.”
She’s beginning to realize that even she isn’t quite sure whether she wants to stay or go.

Pepper
Oh! Maybe should could make some small talk with the she-cat. She’d never admit it, but she was still a bit nervous of the tom. Mulling over some questions, she decides that it’d be best to start with a simple, not prying one. Or at least, she hopes it’s not too prying. ”So, Tawny, was it? If you don’t mind my asking, how long until your kitting?” That’s a good start, right?

"You have a home here," He said gently. "If you want to be here, then stay. But if you don't... Then remember, you have a guide in me. If you ever want to leave, then I'll happily stay by your side." He couldn't believe his ears - Ruby's siblings had just abandoned her? That wasn't how a litter functioned!

"I sort of... ran away when I found out that I was expecting. My former mate isn't the nicest cat, so I'm trying to find somewhere where I'll be safe," She continued. She wasn't too private - it was simple information, and sharing it could be beneficial later on.

Ruby
The she-cat relished the gentle touch and soothing voice of the tom, only to quickly move away in embarrassment. ”Oh! Continuing with the tour, that room that has the moving picture screen is the main part of the den. I have a nest in there along with a few toys, but I usually don’t sleep there since the screen can get really loud.” Ruby trotted over to the main room where one of her housefolk was beginning to doze off on the couch. She pushed its fleshy pink paw with her head, but only recieved a pat as the creature retracted its arm.
Shrugging, she flicks her tail to another room.”That’s where my housefolk sleep. I also have a nest in there, although their big one is much comfier! Except they usually don’t let me on.” She gave a small pout as she looked inside the room. The female twoleg was sitting on the big nest, watching the smaller picture screen in her hand. Housefolk are so weird sometimes! Ruby gave a meow, only to recieve a dismissive hand.
Now that she’s actually paying attention to her surroundings due to her new companion, Ruby is beginning to realize that maybe this wasn’t the best place to be anymore.

Pepper
The spotted she-cat frowned. ”I’m sorry to hear that. If we ever come across that mangy furball, I’ll be sure to teach him a lesson!” Her frowned turned into a playful, but wary smile. Was that too straightforward? Shaking the thought off, Pepper tilts her head in thought. ”I can tell you’re enjoying the forest, that’s good! What was the Twolegplace like though? I can’t imagine it was easy.” She hoped that she was getting along well with the others. First impressions matter, after all.
Well, technically she messed up her first impression with the tree fiasco, but did that really count? Either way, she felt at ease around these cats, surprisingly. She was always wary of rogues, loners and strays, but something about this band of cats made her feel welcome and at home.

”I dunno. I hope it’s not you though; I think they’re just tired!” She flicks her tail back to the female.”I think she has something going on, her belly has been swelling lately. If I had to guess, it’d be kits.” The thought of a tiny twoleg chasing her around made her shiver. She’s heard too many stories about those messy things using cats as snot rags. Why do twolegs always seem so giddy around them?

"Oh, it wasn't easy at all!" Tawny exclaimed. "I mostly stuck to the city. It was hot, and crowded, and very miserable at points, but I got through. I only met Shadow earlier today, y'see - he took me here, into the forest. And I think that we're friends now."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"That could be bad news for you," Smog said, his voice suddenly serious. "When Twolegs have kits, they fawn over them like no tomorrow. My sister's Housefolk had kits, and before she knew it, she was out on the streets with me! We need to make sure that if it is kits, then your Housefolk stay focused on you."
Shadow with Tawny and Pepper
Shadow looked up with a grunt from where he was cleaning his fur and listening to the other two speak. "Don't be ridiculous," He grumbled at Tawny, scowling, "Of course we are. You think I'd have stayed past meeting that Badger tom if I wasn't fond of you, mouse-brain." He huffed and reached out a paw to mess up the fur on top of Tawny's head, rolling his eyes fondly. He turned a sharp yellow-green eye to Pepper as well, eyeing the seemingly trouble-prone she-cat. He shifted aside slightly, motioning her closer. "Your fur's still messed up from that fall," He stated, gruffly, "I'll fix it for you if you want."
Ruby
Reality slowly sinks in as Ruby looks around her home — or, what used to be her home. She looked over to the main room, where, for the first time in a while, she noticed all of her toys were shoved to the corner, alongside her bed. Her male owner was passed out, several bottles scattered around him, with the screen flashing on his furry head.
The spare room, the old room where Ruby grew up in during her kithood, where she would run around with Sapphire and Obsidian, where her parents Twinkle and Rocky nested as they cared for their kits, was now filled with boxes and half built dressers and giant stuffed animals Ruby wasn’t allowed to play on, and the crate thing sitting ominously in the corner.
Even in the bedroom, all of Ruby’s things were taken out except for that one bed. She sighed. ”Smog, I think they’ve already moved on.”
Pepper
She blinked, noticing that her fur was indeed still a bit messy, and if it was messy where she could reach, who knows what the top of her head looks like! Scooting closer, she gave a smile. ”Thank you!” She gave a wary glance to Tawny. Hopefully she wasn’t making anything weird?
Relaxing, she started to mull over some more questions. ”So, how exactly did you find each other?” Her yellow eyes glowed with curiousity. In all honesty, these two seem like they’ve been friends for a while! But maybe that’s because Pepper never really had a friendship like theirs, no matter how long it’s been.
Tawny gave Shadow a grin, her gaze one of pure happiness. For the first time in moons, she felt like she had somebody to trust. Maybe, if we both stay with this group of cats, I'll be able to have somewhere safe to have my kits, she thought to herself. Maybe... She shook herself out of her state, before replying to Pepper. "I sort of wandered into his home. This morning. It was a bit intrusive, all things considered."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Smog silently pulled Ruby a little closer. This little she-cat, unaware of the world, unaware of how cruel things could be. And yet, as it was his nature, he would inevitably show her how to live, and then disappear from her life. And he still had to retrieve his kits. But, what if...? What if he took his kits from Tawny, and gave them to Ruby? What if he still had a chance to help repair Ruby's life? He paused, before speaking. "I'll help you bring them back to you. And if we can't, I'll help you move on from them."

Shadow with Tawny and Pepper
Shadow chuckled as he spotted Pepper's glance at Tawny. It was just grooming after all. Shaking his head, he began with smoothing the fur between her ears and down the back of her neck. "I wasn't very hospitable at first," He rumbled, laughter in his voice, "I had not long finished fighting with another tom over my territory, it's where I got this scratch." He rolled his shoulders in a shrug as he tugged a stubborn twig from where it had gotten entangle in Pepper's fur. "She seemed... unsettled, so I asked her what was wrong," He explained, smiling over at Tawny, "Hearing her story, I couldn't stop myself from helping if I wanted to."

((Never apologize for the length of your post unless it's five long paragraphs about the way the breeze is moving the grass..like honestly huge fluffy posts with no substance are the only things I don't like.))
Jasmine | Shorty | Pearl with Mimi, Oliver & Spirit || Pepper, Tawny & Shadow
At the concerned questions from the other cats Jasmine blinked slowly. "Just a scratch, I've had worse over my seasons," they assured everyone. It was more of an annoyance really, and Jasmine was sure they could keep the tough cat act up they could get back to Emiko. The thought of the spotted white cat pulled a purr from the fluffball. She was so gentle with other cats..though Jasmine was sure they'd get an earful for how careless they'd been. Gentle, yet stern. "Shouldn't take us too much longer to get back."
As they followed the large cat through the trees and undergrowth, Shorty noticed how they were definitely limping more than before. He let out a quiet huff, the tip of his tail flicking. Does this cat have any sense of self preservation? he wondered. It didn't take much longer for the scent of strange cats to start growing stronger in his nostrils. The short-legged tom looked over to see how Pearl was faring. The patchy she-cat's fur could be seen slowly rising, her normally slender tail poofing out. Still, he gave her credit for continuing to move forward at a steady pace.
When the group reached a small clearing, Jasmine paused. "Oh," they mewed as their tail swept low to the ground. "Sorry for interrupting, were there any other cats here before? My friends and I have been sleeping here the past few nights and were supposed to meet up." They looked over the tom and two she-cats lounging where her and Berry had slept last night, hoping nothing had happened to her friends.
Berry | Badger with Emiko & Obsidian
Unconvinced that the frail tom was indeed fine, what with his coughing and obvious injured paw, Berry straightened up and tutted at him. "You don't seem fine little one. I'm Berry, this is Emiko and that big guy is Badger," she said, pointing her tail at the two cats. "Emiko is great at taking care of cats, why don't you let her look you over?" She kept her tone calm, not wanting to alarm the cat further.

Ruby
Ruby shook her head. ”No, I couldn’t possibly imagine forcing your kits to live here when my housefolk are busy with something else.” She turned and stalked back to the flap door that led to the garden, not looking back to see if Smog was following. Stepping outside, she shivered, despite the warm sun. Jumping onto the fence, she looked back into the dense trees. Maybe, it was time for her to move forward.
Pepper
Pepper relaxed into the grooming. These cats are so kind! Except, when six more padded up, her sympathetic nervous system fired up, yelling at her to run. But she stood — or, layed? — her ground, although the fur along her spine bristled.
Obsidian
Alright, these cats obviously won’t leave him alone. Besides, isn’t this why he came here in the first place? Maybe these were the clan cats he set out to find in the first place. Staring at the white bengal who apparently goes by Emiko, he gingerly holds out his left forepaw. He was sure it was just a sprain, though.

Shadow with Tawny and Pepper/Mimi, Oliver and Jasmine with Shorty, Pearl & Spirit
Shadow rumbled a warning as he got to his paws, not showing and real aggression, but letting these new cats know he would fight back if attacked. He gently nudged Tawny back a bit, closer to Pepper and stood squarely in front of the two younger cats. He levelled serious eyes on the six newcomers. "The other two went that way," He continued, adding to Tawny's information and nodding in the direction Berry and Emiko went, "A tom called Badger went with them. They heard a yowl, sounded like someone was in trouble."
~~~~~~
Oliver had kept pace with Spirit. The younger cat made his protective instincts flare up and he couldn't help but think if this was the way he'd feel when his younger siblings were born. According to his mother, they wouldn't share the same father. Oliver knew his father had been a loner passing through that Mimi had taken a shine to, but she hadn't told him the father of his siblings, only that it wasn't the same tom. His fur bristled as they entered a clearing with three strange cats, Mimi pressing her side against the tom to keep him calm.
Emiko with Berry, Badger and Obsidian
Emiko padded serenely forward, being careful not to startle the younger tom. "Hello," She mewed softly, sitting back on her haunches and taking his paw gently in her own, "Let's see what you've done to this then, shall we?" She smile gently at Obsidian, beginning to gently manipulate the joint and watching for any signs of pain. She hummed to herself after a few moments, gently setting the paw down and looking around. Spotting what she wanted, she headed to a nearby tree and leapt up, digging her claws into the bark and scrabbling up. At the first branch, she grabbed a few leaves and easily leapt back down.
She chewed one of the leaves to a paste and took Obsidian's paw again, spreading the mixture on the area that was just beginning to swell. Nodding, she left him again for a moment to grab a couple of leaves from a nearby flower and set them in front of him with the other two she hadn't chewed up. "Eat these, please," She purred, sitting and pushing the new leaves a little closer. "The poultice is Elder leaf, it will help soothe the sprain, as will these Daisy Leaves when eaten. The Elder when eaten is for pain in general." She smiled warmly at Obsidian. "I'd stay off it as much as possible for the next few days and if the pain gets worse, I can get you something a little stronger than the Elder Leaf."
Ruby
”No, it’s time for me to go. It just feels... right.” The she-cat jumped down to the much softer, and even greener side of the fence. Looking down at the blades brushing her paws, a smile crept onto her face. ”It’s like mama always said... ‘the grass is greener on the other side of the fence.’ I didn’t know she meant literally!” She whispered the phrase to herself, and the way the wind blew in her ears, it sounded like her mother, Twinkle, had said it too, as if to tell Ruby that she was making the right choice.
Obsidian
He watched the she-cat work, wincing as she moved his paw in a bit of an odd angle. Part of him wanted to just take his paw back and deal with it, but the other part told him to trust her.
Obsidian watched with wide, curious eyes as Emiko scrambled up a tree and collected leaves, which she chewed up and slathered onto his paw. He made a face like a kit, the weird warm and moist goop starting to soak into his long, fluffy fur. He thought about sniffing it, but was distracted when the cat brought back some leaves for him to eat.
Wait, he was supposed to eat them?
She must have seen the weird look on his face when the she-cat began to describe what she did. Shrugging delicately, Obsidian bent down to lap them up. They tasted bitter, but he didn’t really mind. The food his housefolk gave him was tangy anyways. Housefolk... he wonders how they’re doing. But no, that’s not how a warrior thinks! At least, that was what his dad Rocky told him about those clan cats. Now that he thinks about it, this cat that just helped him sounded like one of those crazy cats that devoted their lives to hunting plants instead of prey. Sapphire always seemed so interested in that stuff...
He straightens up, licking his chops. Eating those leaves reminded him just how hungry he was, and his stomach agreed with a loud gurgle. Folding back his ears in embarrassment, he looked down.
