Shadow With Shrike, Xena, Bumble and Cobweb
Shadow chuckled, the deep sound vibrating through his broad chest. "Well," He rasped, fondness coating the words, "We can't have you going hungry. It just so happens I was out hunting myself this morning and have a bird stashed nearby. You can join me and a couple of new friends who might be interested in meeting my group." He turned his attention to Cobweb. "And yes, exactly like a Clan," Shadow replied, shaking out his thick coat, "I believe the name our Leader told us was going to be SnakeClan, once they're officially made Leader that is. We have a Medicine Cat already, a good few Warriors, and a couple of Queens who'd probably have the rest of my ears if I dared frighten you two too much. We even have a wee thing who'll be an Apprentice when we've got settled."
Standing he stretched out and mentioned to the pair. "Come on then," He rumbled, "I'll introduce you to the other two I picked up this morning and get you that bird. One of them looks to be around your age. Sound good?"

Bumble perked up immediately, bounding out from behind Cobweb and trotting eagerly up to Shadow. "Thank you, mister Shadow sir!" She chirped. The little kitten peered around the tom, staring owlishly into the bushes in the direction he'd come from. "Are your friends over there? What's a warrior? Or an apprentice?" Shadow was so large that she had to crane her neck all the way up, her amber eyes round with curiosity. She was already trotting off, matching every one of Shadow's strides with three of her own. Cobweb followed with a slightly increased wariness, his ears semi-flattened to his head. I suppose Shadow seems trustworthy enough, he reasoned, but what are these friends of his like? Although, he had to say he was rather intrigued and eager to meet the rest of SnakeClan, as Shadow had called them - if they were already so organised, surely they had to be a strong group, right? Cobweb had never had much security living on the streets, which was why he'd started paying visits to the twolegs a few nests down from where Bumble lived. He didn't enjoy spending time with the twolegs; he thought they smelled weird, and he'd heard what they did to some of their kittypets. But being on the streets was a nightmare in itself, because there was always somebody bigger and stronger than you who was all too eager to take what little you had. Cobweb had learned that the hard way. Being in a Clan might offer Cobweb a better home, and who knows? Maybe he'd find his true calling there. Shadow had mentioned something about a Medicine Cat, and that had sounded pretty cool. Cobweb liked herbs, he thought they were interesting and he knew a few, really basic things about treating wounds thanks to the she-cat who lived across the street from his cardboard box. He didn't really want to have to say goodbye to Bumble, as the kitten had become his only friend in the twolegplace, but she'd likely wish to return to her twolegs before long. Perhaps I could convince her to stay, he thought, maybe she'll like it in the Clan. I hope she does. "Mister Shadow sir, how far is it to SnakeClan?" Bumble piped up, still practically attached to the large tom's shoulder as they walked. She was really excited to meet all these new cats, maybe she'd make some friends! It would be cool to live in the forest with Cobweb and a whole big Clan, but she'd miss her housefolk a lot. She had a feeling that, if she returned to her housefolk tonight, Cobweb might not be coming with her.

Shadow With Shrike, Xena, Bumble and Cobweb
Shadow watched the excited she-cat with fondness. It had been a very long time since he had been cats so much younger than him. The last had been a little tom who had attacked him for his territory because one of the other street cats had told him that he had to. The little thing had been lucky it was Shadow and not another one of the toms in his area. Shadow had merely pinned the wee thing and talked him down, he knew others that had killed younger for less. He briefly wondered what the young tom was up to these days, hoping he still survived. The scarred tom also felt a renewed anticipation for Tawny's kits and perhaps even Mimi's as well. To have a group of young ones who wouldn't run from him because of his appearance was going to be strange and wonderful.
Shaking his head, Shadow mused over the she-cat's question. "Well, let's see now," He meowed, thinking over the information they had gotten on the journey to the Camp yesterday, "From what I recall, a Warrior is a fully trained cat. One who can hunt for those in the Clan who can't for themselves, Queens, Elders and the sick, and fight to defend their Clanmates." He smiled at the thought. On the streets he wouldn't have much time left and would probably die fighting another to defend his territory unless he found a two-legs to take him in. It was nice to know he would at least get the chance to retire with other cats. "And an Apprentice," He continued, smiling down at her, "Is one who is in training to do those things. A cat of about six to twelve moons, though our first ones may continue a bit longer as we get used to the whole thing. And although you didn't ask, A Medicine Cat is one who uses herbs to heal those who are sick or wounded. Ours is a small but fierce she-cat called Emiko."
Shadow shouldered his way through the undergrowth, holding the ferns up so Bumble and Cobweb could make their way into the clearing. "Shrike, Xena," He rumbled, nodding at the pair, "Apologies for the wait, but I discovered a couple of little explorers on my way. I promised them something to eat, so why don't you all introduce yourselves and I'll go get that bird." He turned to Bumble and Cobweb. "No need to worry," He assured them, "Shrike and Xena are quite nice and I'll be back very soon." He turned to leave, but paused. "Oh," He continued, remembering something and turning briefly to Bumble, "And SnakeClan is quiet close indeed. If you decide to come have a look, the sun will have barely moved in the sky by the time we get there." Nodding, he turned and bounded into the undergrowth again, heading to his earlier caught bird.

The cream tabby hung onto Shadow's every word with wide, rounded eyes, ears perked and straining as though she was determined to remember every single little detail about what Shadow was telling her. She mewed a cheerful thank-you to the scarred tom as he held up the ferns for her to wriggle through, but she stopped in her tracks at the sight of two strange cats in the clearing: a creamy-coloured cat like her, but with an unusual black mark on his face, and a smaller tortoiseshell she-cat. Bumble blinked owlishly at Shrike and Xena as Shadow bounded away. What the large tomcat had told them about warriors and apprentices and medicine cats and Clans sounded so cool! Bumble couldn't wait to see the Clan, she hoped she'd be able to make some new friends. She glanced at Cobweb, who had just shuffled up beside her awkwardly and was shuffling his grey paws in the dirt. "Hi!" She purred, turning back to the new cats, "I'm Bumble! And this is my best friend Cobweb!" She took a small step forward, peering up at Shrike and Xena. "I live with my housefolk," she informed them, almost importantly, "but Cobweb doesn't have housefolk. He visits a nest for food but he doesn't live there. Are you going to see SnakeClan too?" She wondered if Shrike or Xena were housecats too, and if they were, did they live nearby? Shrike looked a little bit scary, because he was really tall, but Shadow looked terrifying when he'd first approached them yet he turned out to be much less intimidating than Bumble had thought. Xena looks nice, she thought, maybe we can be friends! Bumble didn't really know why Cobweb was so nervous to meet these new cats - she'd glanced over her shoulder at him and the pale tom was practically shaking in his fur, which she thought was rather odd considering he'd been so brave earlier. She beckoned her friend closer and he stopped beside her, almost shrinking into her even though she barely came up to his shoulders.

Xena perked up almost immediately when Bumble and Cobweb entered the clearing. "Hi!" she meowed cheerfully. "I'm Xena - this is my brother, Shrike." Shrike dipped his head in a silent greeting and glanced down to make sure his claws were sheathed (they were, but from the look on Cobweb you'd think they were out and covered in blood - the price you pay for Twoleg food, he thought privately). "I used to have housefolk but I don't anymore, and Shrike lives in the forest." She flicked her tail in excitement. "He's going to teach me how to hunt! He's really good at it - "
"Xena..." Shrike sounded faintly amused. He licked his chest in an attempt to cover it up, but it was audible in his voice.
"Well, you are," she grumbled. Her eyes lit up at Bumble's mention of SnakeClan. "Yes! Shadow said he'd introduce us."

Shadow With Shrike, Xena, Bumble and Cobweb
"And indeed I will," Shadow meowed around the bird in his mouth as he padded back into the clearing. He walked over to Bumble and Cobweb, setting the sparrow down in front of them. "It's not much of a meal for two," He rumbled, eyeing the smallbut plump bird, "But it'll keep you going for a while." Leaning down, the tom began to remove the feathers from the chest in neat little nips, before taking a claw and slicing it open. "There you are," He chuckled as the warm scent of fresh-kill made his mouth water, "Eat up quick and we'll head out."
Turning his attention to Shrike and Xena, he sat and curled his tail around his paws. "Apologies again," He said, tiredness starting to creep into his voice, "We'll head off soon. Do you have any questions you'd like me to address before we leave?"

Shrike's nose twitched as the scent of fresh kill. "Who's your leader?" he meowed. "And how many of you are there? I don't think you ever specified." He stopped Xena from prowling towards the bird by slapping his tail across her chest.

Bumble kneaded the ground happily as Xena spoke to her with matched enthusiasm. "That's really cool!" She beamed, "I'd love to learn how to hunt! Could you show me, too?" The little tabby peeked up at Shrike, head slightly tilted. When Shadow brought out the bird she jumped up excitedly, immediately approaching it and sniffing at the carcass. She wrinkled her nose and glanced warily at her companions. "Is it tasty?" Her question was hesitant, almost nervous; she'd never eaten a real animal before. She slowly lowered herself down into a crouch and parted her jaws, taking a deep breath and then a small bite of the prey. The meat tasted quite nice - if a little strange to her - but she gagged around the feathers and was quick to spit them out. She spluttered, coughing and shaking her head. "Is it supposed to be so...feathery?" She asked incredulously, her ears semi-flat.

"I...suppose so," Shrike answered hesitantly. He barely knew what he was doing with Xena - he'd never taught anyone before - but if Xena and Bumble could help each other and make up for his mistakes, he wouldn't mind.
His whiskers twitched as the kittypet took a bite of bird and gagged on the feathers. "It's a bird," he pointed out, sitting down and wrapping his tail around his paws. "Those do tend to have feathers. Mice and voles might be more to your liking, though. Or squirrels," he added. "If you can get around the tail."
Behind him, Xena made a gagging noise at the mention of squirrels.

Bumble tilted her head, gazing up at Shrike wondrously. "I'd like to try more forest prey! I want to learn how to hunt so I can catch my own food, and be like a real warrior!" she mewed, "But maybe I'll stay away from birds from now on." She looked at Cobweb to see how he was enjoying the bird but the pale tom hadn't taken a bite out of it. He reached out a small grey paw and nudged the prey further towards Xena, who Bumble noticed was looking at it rather hungrily. "I'm not hungry," he reassured the tortoiseshell, his voice a little clipped. He still looked very nervous, and Bumble reasoned that was probably why he sounded that way, "you and Bumble can finish it if you'd like." Bumble was still famished, so she dove straight back in, trying to eat around the feathers now that she'd already taken a bite. She swallowed down a couple of mouthfuls, careful to leave half of it for Xena, and sat back up, chest puffed out and tail twitching happily. "Are we going to see SnakeClan now, mister Shadow sir?"

Shadow With Shrike, Xena, Bumble and Cobweb
Shadow watched the four, bemused and still uncertain of how to react around larger groups of cats. "Well, our Leader is called Jasmine," He answered around a yawn, blinking slowly, "They are a most unusual cat, but very dedicated to the formation of SnakeClan." He went over the other cats in his head before continuing. "SnakeClan currently consists of thirteen cats, including myself, though we have two Queens close to kitting. Seventeen, of course, if all four of you decide that SnakeClan is for you."
He chuckled at Bumble's reaction to the feathers. "Bird is actually my favourite," He rumbled, licking his lips and inhaling the deep scent, "I spent many a day in my youth hunting only birds and perfecting the technique. Squirrels would be the hardest prey for me to catch, though I've never had the opportunity to try and catch a rabbit." Shaking his head, he huffed in amusement. "We'll leave as soon as you're all finished eating and we've buried the bones," He assured Bumble, "We wouldn't want to draw any predators in with the scent."

((Ahh sorry guys, I've been lurking and waiting to see if Sparkly was gonna have a moment to post, but now it's been a while so I'll go ahead and reply ღ ιcєƒιяє ღ, accepted and welcomed. You may begin as you see fit.)) Jasmine with EmikoThe brush of Emi's tail brought Jasmine out of their trance and into an explosion of fret. "What of they don't like me? What if they aren't even real and I've just been following the dreams I've been fed my whole life and now I've got you doing it too and we've given all these cats hopes for nothing and, and-" The normally relaxed cat began to hyperventilate. They'd been so sure what they were doing was right while it was still a fantasy. Now that they were close to their goal and had a group of cats behind them, some with not much else, they felt an enormous pressure build up. "What if StarClan is real and does want me to lead but I'm actually terrible at it and I get us all killed?" So many scenarios rushed through their head. Badger with Mimi & TawnyThinking about it, Mimi was right. Traveling deep in the forest from the Twolegplace is indeed enough adventure for a short time for a pregnant cat. And soon there'd be kits for them to look after. Badger nodded slowly as he agreed. After a while of scraping moss, he wondered if the others wanted to converse or if they would like peace while they could still get it. The tom let his tail wave slowly as he thought of what he might say. Being around cats he could do easily..talking with them was somewhat of its own problem. Mystic with SootSoot, that seems to fit him, Mystic thought while the other cat spoke. He'd followed Soot's gesture to the alley, squinting a bit to see if there was anything special. The young cat wasn't sure there was a single thing to mark that a cat slept in that area. Odd. His ears flattened at the mention of somewhere to stay. "I was so mad at them that I didn't think about what I was gonna do," he admitted quietly. This cat is gonna think I'm a mousebrain. I guess he'd be right though. He tilted his head up to look at Soot, giving him the full kitten stare he'd give his Upwalkers. "Do you know anywhere I could stay?" Berry (open)Seeing Eagle and a couple of other "older" cats still in camp, Berry felt it was okay to leave for a hunting trip. After letting the group of toms know she'd be gone and they were all that was left to watch the younger cats, the tiny ginger went off north of camp. The group hadn't really explored in that direction yet and she thought it'd be fun to start. A long while in she noted that the trees got denser. To her delight, bird song was coming from every direction. Thrilled, she took the time to listen and pinpoint which tree she wanted to climb. Claws out, she got a running start and leapt to one trunk and started a cautious climb.

Bumble stood up straight. "I've finished, mister Shadow sir," she informed the large tom, beaming up at him. Wow, thirteen cats in one place! With kits on the way! The thought was exciting to Bumble; she often got lonely in her housefolks' nest when they wouldn't let her out, or when Cobweb didn't come to visit her. She'd like to live with more cats, she realised, but she knew she'd miss her housefolk terribly if she left them. "Mister Shadow sir, if I came to live in SnakeClan, would you teach me how to hunt? I'll get really big and strong and fast and I'll catch a rabbit for you!" She dropped into a sloppy crouch and sprang, claws outstretched, onto a large leaf on the ground a tail-length or so away from her paws. When she snagged it she let out a triumphant growl and puffed out her chest. "I'll be a great hunter!"
Cobweb purred at his friend's antics and sat down where he stood so he could groom his chest fur. He was fairly certain he had made his decision: he would ask to live with SnakeClan. He was tired of living in a box on the street, turning up at the same twoleg nest whenever he got hungry or when the weather took a turn for the worse. Yes, I'll join SnakeClan, it'll be safer, he decided, kneading the ground absent-mindedly as he watched Bumble playing with the leaf.
Soot rolled his eyes, having expected as much. "Perhaps I do," the grey tom shrugged, "but those kit-eyes won't work on me, young'un." He twitched his whiskers in thought. If he left his alley unguarded, it would likely be taken over by the time he got back and he'd probably have to throw yet another tom out of it, but his conscience wouldn't let him leave this kittypet to find his own shelter, and he doubted Mystic would want to sleep behind a twoleg bin. "Alright, Mystic," he decided, pushing himself to his paws and shaking out his thick grey fur, "here's the deal. There's a group of cats in the forest, calling themselves something fancy - a Clan, I think. Apparently they've got kits and queens they're looking after, and a couple of poor old badgers like myself. I'll take you to 'em, but only because I don't want to leave your sorry behind out here with nowhere to go." He hopped off the pavement, beckoning for Mystic to follow with a flick of his tail.

((Ice, I do have Berry open. She's climbing a tree right now in a denser part of the forest. Owl, Flora is also accepted.
Heh "poor old badgers" as I stare lovingly at Badger, who holds rank as oldest active cat at 58 moons.))
Mystic with Soot
Hearing that Soot was willing to help him, Mystic straightened himself up. He wasn't too deterred by his ploys not being any aid, it only worked half the time with his owners after all. The idea of living in the forest with a group of other cats sounded enjoyable. Still, there was just something in the young tom that wouldn't let him appear too needy, or grateful for that matter. An ear flicked as he spoke cheekily, "You'd do that for a dumb kit you just met?" His growing legs were already hustling to make sure he kept pace with the older tom. Every step with his front paws brought a shooting pain that he was already learning to hide. Is it going to be like this forever now?

"Sure, because I don't want to see your pelt hanging from a fence anytime soon. If I left you out here, someone else would eat you for breakfast," Soot snorted, lashing his tail. He reached the end of the street and turned right, sniffing around at the bottom of the fence next to him. Finding what he was looking for, he pushed back an ivy growth, but let out a hiss of frustration when he saw that the twolegs had fixed the hole again. "Darnit, now we've gotta go over," he spat, "can you climb, kittypet?" He called to the tom over his shoulder.

Emiko With Jasmine
Emiko blinked in surprise as Jasmine began to panic, fur fluffing up slightly. She was frozen for a few seconds as the Leader began to hyperventilate. "Woah, woah," She meowed, forcefully grabbing Jasmine's face and getting the older cat to look her in the eye. "Easy, Jasmine," She mewed, pressing her forehead to theirs, "Breath with me, slow now, through your nose. In and out. In and out." Emiko breathed slowly and evenly, demonstrating how she wanted Jasmine to. "Concentrate on me," She continued quietly, "Listen to my breathing."
Mimi With Badger and Tawny
Mimi hummed in satisfaction at the way her claws shredded through the moss, tearing it into bits small enough to carry, but big enough that they wouldn't have to make too many trips to bring it all back to Camp. She glanced at the other two, before meowing, "How much do you think we'll need?" She assessed the small pile she had built up, thinking over how many Clanmates they had. "Should we get any extra, do you think?" She mewed, contemplating as she continued dragging her claws through the moss.
Shadow With Shrike, Xena, Bumble and Cobweb
Shadow couldn't help the deep laugh that rumbled from his throat. He scrubbed a paw across Bumble's head fondly. "It'll be Jasmine's choice as to who will mentor the Apprentices," He informed her, "But I would be very happy with such an enthusiastic pupil. I have no doubt that you'd make me very proud, little Warrior." Getting to his paws, Shadow turned to Shrike and Xena. "You two ready to go?" He asked, tail flicking calmly.

Shrike nodded, but Xena frowned at Shadow's words. "You mean Shrike wouldn't be teaching me?" she asked uncertainly.
Shrike nudged her gently. "I wouldn't be far away. It'll do you good to talk to other cats."
Xena was still visibly uncertain. "I guess..." she meowed. "But what if they don't like me?"
"Everyone likes you," Shrike pointed out dryly. And so far it was true - Xena was curious, friendly, and cheerful unless she was being woken up. In Shrike's (admittedly someone biased) opinion, it was impossible not to like her.

Bumble purred loudly, closing her eyes as Shadow rubbed his paw on top of her head. "I'd do my best, mister Shadow sir!" she beamed and ran a happy little circle, tail swishing. The little kitten was practically vibrating with glee, Cobweb noted, and the part of him that was telling him Bumble would stay in the Clan began to grow larger. "Yes, I'm ready," he mewed, getting to his paws. He thought for a moment. "Will I be an apprentice too?" the pale tom asked with a tilt of his head. He glanced at Xena and Shrike as they spoke and watched them for a moment. They were brother and sister, he guessed, and they were very close. He'd always wanted a sibling, but from what he'd been told about his own littermates - wherever they were - he had a feeling he'd probably never see them again. At least he had Bumble; she was like a little sister to him and he was glad she'd moved into his neighbourhood. He was snapped out of his thoughts when Bumble piped up again. "Do Clan cats have special names? Or will I always be Bumble? I like my name, it just doesn't sound like it could be a warrior's name," her eyes were round as she stared up at Shadow and Cobweb was surprised to see so much admiration in them already - they'd only known Shadow, Shrike and Xena for an incredibly short time. Well, if Bumble was making friends so fast, he might as well try too, he reasoned. He turned to Shrike and Xena. "Where are you guys from?" he figured small-talk would be effective enough, even if he was an awful conversationalist. He steeled his nerves and hoped this wouldn't be as disastrous as he expected.

Shadow With Shrike, Xena, Bumble and Cobweb
Shadow nodded and flicked his tail for them to follow him. "Well now, let's see," He rumbled as he padded out of the clearing towards Camp, "Shrike may or may not be training you, Xena. I'm guessing it will be the older forest and street cats who will get Apprentices first. There's a couple of old scrappers like me around, though Jasmine might think youth and enthusiasm is the way to go, and we're all pretty friendly for the most part, so I wouldn't worry about them not liking you - You're a sweetheart." He chuckled at the thought, letting his paws automatically pad along as he mused over the questions.
"You will most likely be an Apprentice Cobweb," He answered, remembering the young tom's reluctance earlier, "And if any of you are herb-inclined, I've been told that the Medicine Cat is also able to take an Apprentice. Clan cats apparently have two parts to their name, though I'm not quite sure how to go about getting the second part for Warriors. I heard that Leader's names always end in 'Star' though, so our Leader will be Jasminestar eventually if they keep the first part of their name, kit's names always end in 'Kit' so I would have been Shadowkit, and an Apprentice's name ends in 'Paw'. If you all keep your names, you will be Xenapaw, Cobwebpaw and Bumblepaw."
Shadow paused, motioning the others to stop as he headed over to a large patch of disturbed dirt. He dug into the soil, uncovering and pulling out the prey he had brought back to the same place every time he had caught something. "If you all don't kind, would you grab a bit of this to bring back to the Camp?" He asked, stepping to the side to show the three mice, two birds and a squirrel, "I'll carry the two birds if you young ones take a mouse each and Shrike, if you could grab the squirrel?"

Bumble nodded importantly, sticking out her chest as she held one of the mice firmly between her teeth. The texture of its fur was a lot more bearable than the feathers of the bird, the little she-cat noticed with pleasant surprise - maybe she'd grow to like forest prey. "Bumblepaw!" she mewed happily around the mouse. She gave an exited little bounce and held her tail high, "I like that name!" She watched Cobweb sniff at the other mice before he picked one of them up, leaving the other for Xena. He'd noticeably perked up at the mention of herbs, she observed, and she stifled a purr in the back of her throat. Cobweb liked herbs and he'd often bring new ones he'd found to her garden to show her, even if he had no idea what they did. Maybe he could be a medicine cat too! That would be so cool! But if the Clan needed a medicine cat, surely there'd be cats getting injured; maybe injuries that came from fights, rather than falling out of trees or getting thorns stuck in your pads. "Mister Shadow sir," she started, "would we have to fight other cats? Are there other Clans that SnakeClan will fight? Or scary rogues from the city?"

Xena snatched up the last mouse, wincing as she accidentally bit through the fur in her enthusiasm. Beside her, Shrike picked up the squirrel, rumbling in amusement at her crestfallen expression. He flicked her ear with his tail and they padded after Shadow.
Shrike winced when Bumble brought up rogues from the city, resisting the sudden urge to look over his shoulder to check if anyone was following them.

Shadow With Shrike, Xena, Bumble and Cobweb
Shadow manoeuvred both birds so he could grab them both at once. "No other Clans about to my knowledge," He rumbled as he led the way, his nose beginning to pick up the scents of his new Clanmates, "There are a good few rogues about, but most of them roam alone so I doubt they'll be an issue." He darkly thought of one street cat he wished would dare set paw on the territory. Not normally bloodthirsty, Shadow usually only fought to defend himself and his territory, but Smog was one cat he be glad to take the initiative with.
"I dare say," He continued thoughtfully, "That our biggest problems will be predators. This place has a good few foxes, some badgers and more than one bird of prey.So yes, Bumble, you probably will have to fight other cats, but I'm guessing it won't be too often." He grinned down at the young she-cat around the birds in his mouth, ears perking up. "And speaking of other cats," He chuckled, leading them to a massive fern, "Here we are. SnakeClan's Camp." Ducking under the massive fronds, he pushed them up and motioned for the others to enter.

Nodding solemnly, Bumble held on tightly to Shadow's every word. She had hoped that she'd never have to fight a cat for real, but what Shadow told her made her heart sink with dismay at the thought. When Shadow announced that they'd arrived at the camp, however, she perked up immediately and darted forwards, ducking underneath the fern fronds that the large tom held up for them. Bumble gazed around with wide eyes, both shocked and amazed by the sheer amount of cats who were already there. She bounced up and down eagerly, the bell on the collar around her neck jingling. The little tabby bounded into the camp and skidded to a halt, fur stood on end with excitement. "Wow! SnakeClan!" she exclaimed, voice shrill with glee, "This is so cool!" Cobweb followed at a much slower pace, padding warily behind the rest of his companions as they entered the camp. He stiffened immediately at the sight of so many others, but Shadow had told them that there were even more cats than this; he figured some of them must be out doing whatever Clan cats do. Some cats looked rough and haggard like the alley cats that lived in Cobweb's neighbourhood, but some appeared like they'd walked straight out of their twoleg nests like Bumble had done, only they'd shed their collars. The pale tom stopped at Bumble's shoulder and pressed himself against the cream-coloured kitten on instinct.

Shrike froze as soon as he stepped foot into camp, just behind Bumble and Cobweb. There were so many cats - his hackles prickled automatically and he took half a step backward. Xena pressed up against his flank and he forced himself to relax.
"Woah," Xena whispered. She stared up at Shrike. "We're staying, right?"

Mystic with Soot
What would eat a kit for breakfast? Mystic thought worriedly as he followed his new acquaintance to a fence. Perhaps he really should've thought his plan through better instead of acting on emotion. Too late now. "Climb? Uhh.." his ears flicked as he looked at his paws. With a gulp he steeled himself. "Only one way to find out," he quipped before turning back a bit to get a running start. When he got close enough he put all the strength he had into his legs pushing off the ground. There was a moment of triumph when his front paws hit the top of the fence, but panic quickly followed as his muscles flexed to let out claws that just weren't there to grip. His soft kittypet pawpads scraped against the brick under him as his backpaws scrabbled. Thankfully he still had his backclaws, and they dug into the wall. With the little bit of grip and upper-body strength the young tom had, he hefted himself to the top of the fence feeling extremely winded.
Jasmine with Emiko
Focusing on their friend, Jasmine started to slow their breathing. As their mind went graciously blank they began to calm down. Sighing, they put their forehead against Emi's. "What would I do without you, my friend?" Perhaps the panic was silly, but it was done and now time to move on. After a grateful nuzzle Jasmine started walking again. It felt like Sunhigh would be an optimal time to be at that stone.
Badger with Mimi & Tawny
"I think as much as we can carry would be good," Badger said, eyeing the piles around the group. He wondered if they would actually be able to carry what they'd already scratched. "This should be plenty." The large tom began to roll what he had into a ball. And then a few more. He was careful to pick one up in his mouth and another under his chin, but seeing the other two cats he was thinking he might have to make at least one more trip.
Shorty with the camp cats
Shorty had just laid down to rest his tiny legs when the heavy scent of strange cats filled his nose. There was also a somewhat familiar smell with them, hidden under the stench of Thunderpath and Twolegs. Curious, he looked up to see Shadow leading a group of young cats. The sight was amusing, and the tom felt the need to yell out, "Hey Shadow, I don't think Jasmine meant for us to kitnap the entire Twolegplace!" from his lounging spot.

Shadow and Oliver With Half of the Clan (Almost Literally.)
Shadow chuckled deeply, letting the fronds fall behind him as he entered the Camp properly. HE set the birds he carried down in the middle of the clearing, smirking back at the other tom. "Jasmine shoulda specified then," He called back, tail flicking proudly, "I figure even if they're no good for working, we could all use a snack." He winked at the small group, letting them know he was just teasing.
Shadow padded over to the four he had led there, brushing tails with them all reassuringly. "This is Shrike, Xena, Cobweb and Bumble," Shadow rumbled, nudging each one as he said their name, "I came across them while hunting and all of them wanted to have a look at what SnakeClan is like, maybe even join us if it's to their liking." Motioning to the three toms taking a break, he smiled at his small group. "These mangy toms are all future Clanmates of mine," He rasped, starting by motioning to Shorty, "The loud one is Shorty and with him is Eagle and Oliver. Shorty's sister Pearl and Oliver's mother Mimi are also in the Clan."
Pausing a second, he glanced around at the nearly-empty Camp. "Seems like most are away at the moment," He meowed thoughtfully, shaking his head and turning to Shorty. "Where is Jasmine anyway?" He asked, padding closer, "I was hoping to introduce them to this lot."
~~
Oliver shrugged at Shadow, peering around Eagle to glance at the small group with evident curiosity. He blinked in surprise to see that most of them were younger than he was. 'Except for...' Oliver felt a slight flush make it's way up his neck as he ducked his head at the sight of the fourth cat. He viciously tried to suppress the feeling, aware of how his shy nature tended to get even worse around cats he... Was fond of. Shaking himself, he nodded in welcome to all four and turned to groom his coat.
((I did not mean for Oli to get a crush on Shrike XD But it was kinda the only thing that came out trying to write him >.>))
Emiko With Jasmine
Emiko purred, nuzzling her friend back and following them as they started to walk on. "You're always welcome," She meowed quietly in reply, gazing around at the beautiful path they were following alongside the creek with a soft smile on her muzzle. She walked beside Jasmine in silence for a few minutes, paws silent on the soft ground. "And Jasmine?" She started, pressing her shoulder against the silver and white cat, "You may not have the name or the lives, but you're already our Leader and a wonderful one at that. Don't be so hard on yourself, or try to take on so much. You'll have a Deputy and a Medicine Cat to help you if you need it."
Mimi With Badger and Tawny
Mimi hummed, evaluating the piles of moss. "Well, it won't be too much trouble to come back again," She purred, nosing her moss into the proper shapes, "After all, there's quite a few nests to make and I believe Emiko said something about a Medicine Cat needing it as well." Nodding, she was about to grab it, when an idea struck her. "Oh!" She exclaimed, turning and trotting over to one of the many ferns. She nipped off one of the leaves and returned to her pile. "What about," She muttered, setting the frond down and nudging as much moss as she could onto it, before folding it up, "This!" She lifted up the parcel, containing more more than she could usually carry by herself. The Queen beamed at Badger, tail flicking proudly.

(Oh, I love it. And I totally understand - Shrike is turning into way more of a disaster than I expected.)
Shrike nodded in return to the red-furred tom - Oliver, as Shadow introduced him - and set down the prey he'd carried into camp. As Xena did the same, Shrike heard his stomach rumble.
Immediately, Xena zeroed in on him. "Did you eat?" she hissed, keeping her voice low.
"Of course I did," Shrike lied. "I went hunting while you were asleep."
Xena narrowed her eyes but didn't challenge him.
