Shadow and Tawny
Shadow chuckled, leading the way into the trees. "It's good here," He assured her, padding softly through the underbrush, "There are a few cats in here. They're a rough bunch from what I remember, but more honest than most of the cats in the city." He inhaled deeply, taking in the familiar scent. "You'll have to find your own bit of territory," He warned her, leading her towards where he knew there was water - it would be a good place to start, "But I can help you with that."

(( cloudheart, Bubble, would you two mind Shadow leading Tawny to the same watering hole that Web and Badger are at?)) Shadow and TawnyShadow scrubbed a paw over his face, embarrassed at her thanks. "You're welcome," He said gruffly, blushing under his dark fur, before clearing his throat. "I can stay until you're established here," He offered, not looking at her. 'The scent of queen and kits is making me soft,' He grumbled to himself, but couldn't bring himself to care much. He's been on his own, constantly defending his territory for many moons now. It was so nice to have actual company that didn't want to fight.

(Lycaonia I don't mind!)
The tomcat's whiskers tremble in restrained amusement at the other toms clear awkwardness. He felt almost bad for the other cat - how long had it been since he'd encountered a cat that didn't immediately try to tear his fur out? "Things have been well for me. How about for you?" He purrs, settling down to neatly groom his paws as they talked - only to realize he hadn't actually introduced himself yet.
"Oh - I'm Web. It's nice to come across another cat that doesn't immediately try to attack, don't you think?"

((I also do not mind if they make it to the water. And dude, I feel like half my life is a migraine so I feel ya, take your time.))
Shorty cringed and turned back to check on his sister before looking over to see if the cat by the fence had taken notice to the noise. He assumed it was hard to, with the dog barking so loudly near her, but there was still a chance. After all, Pearl did knock into a box that had a few shiny things in them, and they clanked as the box tipped over.
((Sorry they're passing by Spirit here.))
When Emiko called out to her, Berry immediately snapped to attention. Her amber eyes widened momentarily when they landed on the mouse. "I didn't even notice," she mewed quietly, a mix of shock and shame. She knew she needed to be more alert, but how would she help a clan if she didn't notice a mouse under her paws? Shaking off her embarrassment for another time, the small cat joined her friend and took a few bites of the warm prey. She sat back and cleaned, looking around once more while she waited for Emiko to finish.
Jasmine did their best to not laugh when the tall but young cat puffed out and snarled at them, though they could not fully hide the look of amusement. They supposed if they weren't aware of the other cats then they might be startled, but the poor thing seemed so scrawny that even injured they were sure they could take him. They kept their distance while the queen introduced herself. "I'm Jasmine," they replied while dipping their head. "I don't mean any harm, looking for a place to rest a moment actually. Would you mind?" They began to lay down slowly, doing their best to ease the minds of the other two cats. "You two aren't used to being out like this, are you?"
The calmness of the other cat set Badger at ease, finally. He found himself mirroring the other tom, sitting down. "I'm Badger, and yes it is nice," he agreed. He shifted his weight around a bit, still unsure of how to act. It wasn't like he had anything to do today, or any day. He'd already had some food so that wasn't a high priority anymore. That thought did give him an idea though. "Have you eaten? I can catch you a fish?"

((I'm recovering, slowly. Might be a bit slow for a few days, but I'm getting there ^^ Thanks for understanding.))
Emiko and Berry
Reaching out a paw at the shame in Berry's voice, Emiko gently cuffed the other cat around the ears. "Don't be a mouse-brain," She said fondly, expression content as she looked around, "You were focused." Emiko polished of the rest of the mouse, licking at her whiskers. At times she still couldn't believe this was her life now. Starting out life as an abandoned kit just weened, she honestly didn't think she'd make it to adulthood, never mind being part of something bigger. SnakeClan was the best thing to ever happen to her. She got to her paws and stretched out, shaking out her fur. She grabbed the bones from their meal, burying them so they din't attract any predators. "Shall we continue?" She asked, scanning the trees around them, "I have a good feeling about this area."
Shadow and Tawny
Shadow hummed in agreement. "I haven't had an adventure in years," He murmured, glancing back at her, "And apologies if I scared you. If you had been a tom looking for my territory, I would have been seen as weak if I didn't meet you teeth and claws first." Shadow stopped for a moment to scent the air. He frowned, opening his mouth to take in more of the scent. "Cats ahead," He grumbled, fur bristling. He forced himself to relax. This wasn't his territory. "Stay close," He murmured to Tawny, hanging back to just slightly ahead of her, obviously protecting. He guided her through the underbrush, seeing two cats at the pond. "Hello," He called, trying not to startle them, "Sorry to bother you, but do you mind if we get a drink?" Mimi, Oliver and Jasmine
"We don't mind at all," Mimi assured Jasmine, sending a sharp look to her son. Oliver sighed, but relaxed as Jasmine lay down. He sat and began cleaning his fur, trying to get in to lie flat again. "It's nice to meet you Jasmine," Mimi said, sitting and curling her bushy tail around her paws. Her head tilted slightly as Jasmine continued, sighing deeply. "You're quite right about that," She murmured, looking towards what was supposed to be their home, "but we don't exactly have a choice right now." Mimi drooped sadly, paw pressed to her stomach.
Oliver stopped grooming to press against his mother's side, trying to comfort the queen. While he was doing his best to learn how to hunt, he couldn't support the both of them yet and certainly couldn't support however many kits she was going to have. "S'okay Mama," He murmured, face buried in the thick ruff of fur around her throat, "We'll get by." It brought a smile to Mimi's face and she purred, grooming his ears for a moment. Remembering their audience, she blushed and turned back to Jasmine. "Sorry," She said, fur fluffing up in embarrassment, "What brings you to the area, Jasmine?"

Berry with EmikoWarmth from her friend's words spread through Berry as she stood and nodded. "Yea, this place does seem nice," she said as she looked around. The trees were sturdy, with branches that appeared climbable. They'd be able to get good prey here she thought. A while later a quiet rustling caused the ginger cat to brush against Emiko and freeze up. Her claws came out as she stayed stiff and ready to attack, only for a deer to strut out from some ferns. The larger creature stopped for just a breath and looked down at the cats before continuing on its way. Only when it disappeared did Berry dare to look away, and when she did it was back to where the deer had come from. Wide-eyed and cautious, the small cat vanished in the cluster of ferns. On the other side, a nice sized clearing with a few moss patches and thin trees awaited her. "Emiko, come look!" she yowled out.
Badger with Web, Shadow and Tawny
Having been caught up in his social awkwardness, Badger was taken by surprise by the next set of cats that popped up at the pond. This time at least he didn't sit there with his mouth open like a fish, and instead bowed back. The tom seemed to either be a fighter, or at least a cat who got into many fights much like himself. The young she-cat on the other paw, only looked uneasy and worn. By the scent surrounding her he could guess why. "Go right ahead," he meowed, eyeing the tom suspiciously. Jasmine with Mimi and OliverUnderstanding the predicament the two were in, Jasmine felt their brain whir. They stopped licking a scratch on their leg and looked at Mimi. "Actually, I'm looking for cats who might like to join my group. Have you heard any of the rumors about the clans who used to live in the forest?" Shorty & Pearl "with" SpiritSparkly Blinking dully, Shorty gaped at his sister. He never thought he'd hear her want to leave the safety of her den, but nevertheless he got to his paws. It was dangerous out there and she wouldn't last on her own. "Alright then, let's get going before you change your mind," he decided. Gleefully, Pearl held up the broken screen of the open window for her brother to exit before her. The two traveled through yards, only stopping when they heard some particularly loud barking. Shorty looked around to make sure the dog wasn't in the yard they were about to cross, and saw a young cat staring at nothing. "I think we can make it by without a problem," he whispered to Pearl. The she-cat nodded and followed the shorter cat as he slunk close to the cat's den. All was going well until Pearl tripped over a water hose and tumbled with a yowl. ((Here's what I'm thinking for the ferns and the clearing btw))

Tawny padded forwards slowly but cautiously, suddenly realising how thirsty she was. Water in the city was often only in gutters or puddles after it rained, and fresh water was hard to come by. This meant that if you couldn't find a kittypet willing to share, then you were stuck. She bent down, thirstily lapping up a mouthful of water from the pond.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Spirit sat up with a jolt. Dogs barking... Cats! She spun around, hissing. "Who are you!?" She snarled, padding - or maybe dragging - herself over to the pair. Yeah, she was small, but she wasn't totally useless!
Emiko and Berry
Emiko held her breath, eyes wide as the deer walked past them. A strange tingle ran through her, making her fur stand on end. She didn't even notice Berry leaving her side until the small she-cat called for her. Head whipping in the direction of Berry's yowl, she darted forward ready to help defend her friend if she was in trouble. But the sight on the other side of the ferns made Emiko stop in her tracks.
The beautiful mossy clearing made her breath catch in her throat as she padded up to stand beside Berry. "Oh, well done," Emiko whispered, eye flickering around the place. She cautiously moved forward, drawn to gap in the roots of one of the bigger trees. Taking in the scent, she realised that it was a very old fox den, abandoned many seasons by now. The place seemed to call to her, making a purr rumble from her chest. She pushed her way back out of the den and sat down, tail curling around her paws as she smiled warmly at Berry. "Berry... This is perfect," She breathed out, happiness filling her, "We should return to the others, but mark a scent trail on the way back just in case."
Shadow, Tawny, Web and Badger
shadow nodded at the other toms and followed Tawny closely, obviously guarding the young Queen. He made sure not to make any aggressive movements, keeping his claws in and his teeth covered by his lips. While he might survive an attack by two toms and Tawny might be able to escape, there was always a risk. Better not to provoke anything. The massive scarred to bent his head down to drink, keeping an eye on both potential enemies.
Finished drinking, he sat up and cleaned off his whiskers. "Thank you," He rumbled, carefully polite, "Perhaps you may be able to help us. Do you know of any unclaimed territory around here? We're looking for a good place to settle for a while."
Mimi, Oliver and Jasmine
Mimi went carefully still at Jasmine's words, Oliver pressing a little closer. The Queen eyed Jasmine for a long moment, suddenly sharp in her manner. Oliver was quiet, watching his mother as she seemed to come to a decision. "We've heard the stories," She said quietly, looking deeper into the forest, "My mother used to tell them to me, claiming that one of our ancestors belonged to the clans." The queen huffed out an amused breath. "I thought them just stories," She mused, head tilting in curiosity, "You're looking to form a Clan then?"
Badger with Web, Shadow and Tawny
After watching the two while they drank, Badger couldn't sense anything wrong between them. When asked about territories, he rolled his shoulders in a shrug. "I haven't been in this area for too long so I'm unsure about any unclaimed bits," he told them. His tail thumped as he racked his brain and looked to Web. Then it hit him. "There's a group of cats I passed not far from here though. They're friendly, asked me to join them. I'm sure even if you didn't want to stay long, they'd take you until you were ready to move on. I'll show you the last place they were at if you'd like."
Pearl and Shorty with Spirit
Hearing the hiss, Pearl scrambled to her paws so she could face the young cat. The startled look of fear died out when she saw it was just a kit they'd intruded on. Her fur went flat as she answered, "Sorry, I'm Pearl and this is my brother Shorty. We're on our way to the forest and thought it'd be safer to go through yards and stay off the Thunderpaths." The tiny tom sat back with a huff. Why did his sister have to tell everyone her life story. She's just too trusting, he thought with a shake of his head. He could say he was impressed with this kit. The way she went into intimidation mode against two older cats reminded him of himself.
Berry with Emiko
Trembling with excitement, Berry nodded. "This will be such a fantastic place to live," she thought out loud. At Emiko's suggestion, she began rubbing along some areas and spraying others as they headed back to their rendezvous point. The she-cat was glad it was getting close to sunhigh as they got close, she was sure she'd burst from elation if the two didn't get to tell everyone about what they found. While waiting, Berry found herself hungry again and lifted her head to sniff out more prey.
Jasmine with Mimi and Oliver
Surprised by Mimi's answer, Jasmine blinked before nodding. "Exactly. My father would tell me about our ancestors coming from them too, and I thought they were just bedtime stories until a starry cat came to me less than a moon ago. I already have a few other cats who thought it was a nice idea, and today we're out looking for a good place for camp and of course more cats to join us. If you're interested we'd love to have you as well." The fluffy cat was hopeful, but did their best not to show how desperately they wanted the other cats to join.
((Oh, meant to say cloudheart! I have been assuming that Jasmine is biologically female, but tell me if I'm wrong and I'll adjust things. Just because obviously cats they first meet aren't going to know they're gender-fluid until they're either told or overhear the pronouns.))
Mimi, Oliver and Jasmine
Mimi sighed,looking back towards their two-legs den. Once, she would have called them her housefolk, but that time had long passed. She turned to Oliver, tilting her head at her son as he quietly watched her reaction. Oliver turned his head back towards Jasmine, watching the strange cat with serious green eyes. He was quiet for a few moment, before speaking up. "I think," He started in his soft, serious voice, "That we can trust her." He smiled at Jasmine, eyes brightening.
Mimi chuckled, purring. "I think so too," She agreed, standing and stretching out before padding closer to Jasmine with Oliver at her side. "We'd like to have a look first, obviously," She mused, sitting down nearer to them, "But if we get along well with the others, we'd be happy to join."
Emiko and Berry
Emiko followed Berry back, marking as she went. She was trembling slightly from pure excitement as they reached the agreed upon spot and watched as Berry sniffed the air. 'Hunting is a good idea,' She thought, turning in the opposite direction ad lifting her muzzle to the air. Emiko wasn't a great hunter, but she had gotten better with her new Clan's help. It was helpful that she had a good nose and was a good tracker, it was just the actual catching that got to her. A scent tickled her nose and she crouched down, beginning to stalk forward.
Shadow, Tawny, Web and Badger
Shadow thought over that. A group would keep Tawny safer than he could by himself. Especially when she had the kits and wouldn't be able to hunt for a short while at all. Still, it was hard to trust that this wasn't some sort of trick. 'He'sbeen perfectly friendly,' Shadow scolded himself, rolling his shoulders to shrug off the natural suspicion that came from so many seasons of being a street cat. Instead he turned to Tawny, tilting his head to ask her what she thought.
"The forest?" Spirit gasped, blinking in surprise. "The forest is dangerous, you know. I heard that there were other cats living in there, cats that would kill you if you went anywhere near them!" The young she-cat stiffened slightly, looking at Pearl and Shorty in terror.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tawny paused for a moment, before replying. "We should at least meet these cats," She mewed to Shadow. "Even if we don't join them, they sound friendly enough, and having an alliance could work in our favour. That is, if we stay in the forest."

Much sad.))Jasmine with Mimi and OliverListening to the cats, Jasmine dipped their head. "That's fair, I wouldn't want to hold anyone against their will for my dreams," they told the queen. Jasmine wasn't a selfish cat, just a mildly ambitious one. They stood back up and started walking back toward the forest with a minor limp. "I told my friends we'd meet back at sunhigh, so you'll be able to meet everyone when we get there." Shorty & Pearl with Spirit At the extreme reaction of the younger cat he was just becoming impressed with, Shorty cackled. Being met with a sharp nudge to his side by Pearl, he cleared his throat. "Sorry, what I meant to say was that we aren't afraid of forest cats," he said in a smug tone. His chest puffed out as he carried on, his sister rolling her eyes next to him. "I've lived on my own for seasons, I can take some mangy forest cats," he boasted. Badger with Tawny & ShadowWith how sensible she was being with this matter, Badger wondered how the young cat got into her situation. Not that he'd pry. Instead he began to lead the two to the small thicket he'd last seen that group of cats. As they walked, he realized none of them introduced themselves. "I'm Badger, by the way," he offered. Mimi, Oliver and Jasmine
Mimi nodded and followed Jasmine at a steady plod. Oliver brushed up against her for a moment, before ranging out a little further, ears perked for any signs of trouble. Mimi smiled after her son as he disappeared into the underbrush, moving up to walk beside Jasmine. "Have you and you group been together for long?" She asked, bright eyes curious and excited. The thought of the clans had fascinated her as a kit and she had told the same tales to Oliver when he was at her belly.
Emiko and Berry
Emiko snarled to herself as she moved forward, stalking her prey. It was a particularly fat squirrel and would be a very good meal for one, or a decent meal for two. Breathing steadily, she hunkered down as it scrabbled through the underbrush. Tensing, she sprung forward, claws outstretched. She had miscalculated though and overshot, making the squirrel dart back the way she came. Growling viciously at her own folly she took off after it, managing to bound forward and block it's access to the tree it was aiming for. Obviously panicked, it scrambled over the ground and she chased it. "Berry!" She called, frustrated at not being able to snag it, "Incoming Squirrel!"
Shadow, Tawny and Badger
Shadow huffed, but followed the other tom, keeping himself between Badger and Tawny. "I'm Shadow," He offered, starting to relax a little. He wasn't sure what he was going to do if Tawny did join the other group. Would he join with her? He was kind of attached to the young queen by now, he enjoyed her company. 'It would be nice to be able to relax around other cats again,' He mused, bumping a shoulder into Tawny's gently and tilted his head, silently asking if she was alright with all this.

Pepper
A young she-cat emerged from the space between the gnarled roots of an ancient beech, stretching out into the sun-dappled forest. Licking her paws and swiping them over her ears, the loner’s belly rumbled loudly. Flicking her tail, the she-cat thrust her muzzle into the air.
The scent of squirrel hit the nose of the beautiful she-cat Pepper. Licking her lips, Pepper followed the smell to a nearby tree, its ground littered with nuts and plants. The grey squirrel sat on top of a jutting root, nibbling away at one of the many seeds.
Checking the air, Pepper dropped low into a crouch. He stomach growled hungrily, and she willed it to quiet in fear that it might alert the rodent.
Hold on... Wait for it..... Now!
Launching off of her hind paws, Pepper soared through the air quietly and landed on the plump squirrel, quickly nipping its spine before it had a chance to squirm away. Satisfied, she settled down and began to eat her meal.

((Bʟᴀᴄᴋғᴇᴀᴛʜᴇʀ accepted, I'm definitely excited to have our first antagonist. Also if you'd like Badger could have been Duchess's mate at one point? It sounds like fun that their kits would leave for the forest and end up in the clan before him while Duchess hates on the whole thing and maybe even him for continuing to roam?
Sparkly do you still have Winchester roaming around? He could possibly meet up with Pepper and bring her to the group if you'd like. If not I can steer either Badger or Jasmine her way.)) Berry with EmikoClaws sunk into one of the tree trunks of the thicket, Berry was focused and just barely able to hear Emiko's warning. Immediately switching gears from egg hunting, the ginger sheathed her claws and pushed off from the tree. She twisted so she could land hopefully facing the incoming prey. Imagine how pleased she was to get this right and take off going left of the squirrel. Confused, the creature shifted right and made a mad dash for another tree, which is just what Berry wanted. Her slightly smaller legs were pushed hard as she chased the squirrel. As it started up the tree she quickly lunged and knocked it to the side, landing on it before delivering a final blow. The young cat took a moment to breathe before calling out to her friend, "G-got it!" Jasmine with Mimi & Oliver// and Shorty, Pearl & SpiritJasmine watched the two cats from their peripheral while keeping their green eyes mostly focused ahead. When Mimi addressed them, they turned to look at her. "I met the first cat just a few days after my first night in forest, that was a moon ago today I believe. The latest two cats we've gotten in these last few days. There's six of us so far," they explained. As the group got closer to the edge of the forest, something else piqued Jasmine's interest. In one of the yards not far away they could have sworn they'd heard someone say something about killer forest cats. "Pardon me, I think I hear an opportunity," they meowed with a dip of their head. The fluffy cat moved stealthily towards one of the Twoleg dens, ears pricked up to hear the conversation. Three cats sat together discussing the forest. When the youngest was doing her best to warn the bigger two away from the trees, Jasmine stepped out. "Oh I wouldn't say us forest cats are that bad, it's more of the foxes you'll want to look out for." Shorty & Pearl with Spirit// and Jasmine, Mimi & OliverHaving had her attention entirely on the kit, Pearl jumped at the sound of a new cat. "Goodness!" she yowled, mostly white fur fluffed. Shorty had admittedly jumped too, but learned seasons ago to hide any sign of fear. The small tom glared at the large newcomer. "I suppose you're also going to tell us to stay out of the forest then?" he hissed. Jasmine laughed, shaking their head. "Actually I think it's fine you want to go play in the forest. It's more fun out there, just a little scary if you go in such a small group." Badger with Tawny & ShadowTaking note of Shadow and Tawny's body language, Badger couldn't decide whether he felt insulted or relieved. For the moment he decided to go with relieved, just because that meant this young she-cat was indeed safe. When she mentioned her father's friend, the pieces he'd been missing were put together and the blood under his fur boiled. No cat should go through what this one has, but especially one so young. Thankfully before he had to think up any words of encouragement, an extremely weak spot for him, the smell of freshly killed prey caught his attention. Not deep under that smell was the scent of cat. "Someone's nearby," he said quietly as he slowed his pace.

((Alrighty then!))
The white she-cat gave a sigh. The scents in the forest had began to numb her nose. She had to focus. She froze, not moving. Taking a deep breath she began trying to pick each different scent out from the rest. After a few moments, a paw touched her and she jumped, surprised. She turned, seeing her brother. She growled, "What was that for?" She asked. He only smirked in response, "I caught their scent already slowpoke," Prince said.

(Yeah, I still have Winchester open.) "It's dangerous for kittypets," Spirit retorted, huffing quietly. "Especially kittypets like me," She added, her tail flicking next to her crippled leg. Yeah, she could walk, but it was too difficult to hunt - she'd tried. The she-cat mostly just dragged her scarred, crippled hind leg around behind her, occasionally managing a few stumbling pawsteps on her near-unusable leg. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tawny paused, sniffing the air. "You're right," She murmured, her entire body tensing up. She was terrified - strangers weren't her thing. Once a cat had proven they were friendly, she was okay, but the young she-cat would never willingly interact with a total stranger. It was dangerous, and how she had fallen pregnant.

Emiko and Berry
Emiko panted as she trotted over to Berry, peering at the squirrel. "Nice catch," She praised the other she-cat, sitting with a sigh. "Sorry for the interruption," She continued as she got her breath back, "But he got away from me and I didn't want such a good meal escaping." She prodded the fat little thing's stomach was a claw, careful not to pierce it. She grinned at Berry for a moment, before pausing and frowning. Her ears twitched furiously. "Berry," She hissed lowly, crouching over their hard-won prey, "I think someone's nearby. I heard voices." Emiko's eyesight was poor, not even being great in her good eye, but her hearing was impeccable and very well-developed at this point in her life.
Shadow, Tawny and Badger
Shadow tensed, crouching sightly as took in the scents around him. "She-cat," He murmured, glancing at Tawny. Despite the emphasis he had put on her not being a tom and therefore not as likely to be aggressive or try to take his territory when they first met, Shadow knew that females were just as capable of tearing other cats to shreds. "Smells like more than one," He huffed, eyes turning to Badger, "You know if these are the cats you were hoping to find." The large tom kept his rough voice low as he moved closer to Tawny, trying to reassure her.
Mimi, Oliver and Jasmine with Shorty, Pearl & Spirit
Mimi could feel Oliver's disapproving stare on her from the treeline and had to stop herself from rolling her eyes in exasperation. She loved her sweet-natured son, but sometimes he acted more the mother than she did. Ignoring Oliver, the pregnant she-cat clambered up the fence to peer down curiously at the new cats. "Well," She started, eyes and voice warm and friendly, "What do we have here then, Jasmine?" She carefully leapt down and moved to stand by Jasmine. She examined the three new cats, noting that one was quite young and the other two barely looked older than her own son.

Pepper
Belly full, Pepper purred happily and began to groom herself in a sunny clearing. As she swiped a paw over her ears, she picked up a noise, although too faint to make out exactly what it was. Sitting up, Pepper scented the air, but could hardly smell anything over her recent meal.
The she-cat tensed as her nose finally picked up the smell of a cat. Then another. And another. Eyes widening, Pepper looked around her for any signs of attackers, and any escape routes. There was nothing she could do except climb the closest tree.
Growling and shaking out her uneasiness, Pepper launched herself up the nearest tree and grabbed on to the closest branch, low enough to the ground for her to jump off if need be. She felt dizzy as the tree limb beneath her swayed in the wind, and she dug her claws deeper.
Whoever these cats are, please don’t let them notice me!
((I’m guessing that Tawny, Badger, and Shadow are coming up on Pepper? If not, I guess Pepper can just be paranoid lmao))
