I think this second season did a lot of cool things which I was really impressed with and I honestly wont be surprised if our Big Bad turns out to be something a bit more special than meets the eye. Also, I'm not sure about Viren getting redemption. But it's possible! Oof. I know I spoiled this theory to my friends literally the first season, but I have solid grounds to believe the king's bird is actually the king now thanks to those soul snake things. Maybe that's obvious? But, like, a lot of my friends didn't think so. But I saw foreshadowing for it again this season and nearly said something to the fam. Callum/Rayla is something I'm unsure about. I'll have to see what I think as we go, but I'm on the fence on whether I'm okay with it or slightly miffed. Ezran and our dear dragon are off on a hard road. I was almost starting to like Claudia again right up until the end. But no. False alarm. She's amazing though as a character. Just when I expect one thing it turns up with another. |

Now caught up with Shield Hero. Myne is smart, even though she acts like a brat and an idiot. I mean, she has the whole kingdom wrapped around her pinky finger. That's what I'd call master manipulation. And in a way, her actions make senseโshe hasn't ever been well-behaved to begin with, and with her younger sister in line for the throne before her she's probably afraid of being under her sister's rule. After all, Myne knows what she herself would have done to Melty. Myne seems pretty incapable of empathy, so she'd just assume Melty would do the same to her. With that in mind, Myne's desperation is really fitting. This is the only thing she can do.
Even so, I want Naofumi to slap some sense into Motoyasu, get the blonde ****boy dumbbell to realize the situation he's in. God, if Motoyasu were less stupid I might feel bad for him. I have faith that Ren will figure things out soon, though. That one part from episode 16 was foreshadowing. |

I know I spoiled this theory to my friends literally the first season, but I have solid grounds to believe the king's bird is actually the king now thanks to those soul snake things. Maybe that's obvious? But, like, a lot of my friends didn't think so. But I saw foreshadowing for it again this season and nearly said something to the fam. Callum/Rayla is something I'm unsure about. I'll have to see what I think as we go, but I'm on the fence on whether I'm okay with it or slightly miffed. Ezran and our dear dragon are off on a hard road. I was almost starting to like Claudia again right up until the end. But no. False alarm. She's amazing though as a character. Just when I expect one thing it turns up with another. I think there is DEFINITE foreshadowing on the bird being the king. The whole souls debate at the very beginning seriously points to it, and I don't know why they would include it if it wasn't going to be a huge plot point later.
At first, I had thought that Runaan's soul had been switched with the king, but that theory was quickly stamped out in the first season. The bird seems significant, in an insignificant way, if that makes sense. Like, it was there in the beginning (and stands out quite a bit!), then they didn't really show it or talk about it for a long time, and then *drumroll please* they include that tiiiny scene in the Aaravos-Viren capture where the bird breaks out of the cage and flies out the window, presumably to look for our heroes.
Basically, if the bird somehow isn't the king, it's at the very least got to be pretty darn important in season 3. But that's just a theory~
P.S. and when you think about it, the bird is probably the most likely victim Viren would choose for swapping souls. Viren absolutely would not care about the bird's life being taken, especially to save his best friend. (And also Viren's profession being dark magic which by nature takes zero consideration for the lives of creatures, but I digress) The king was very adamant about not letting another person die for him, but Viren might have believed that the king would have less qualms about an animal taking his place. We could debate whether that would even work but considering Bait, Ava, and ofc the dragons I think it's safe to say that animals in this universe have souls and therefore, can have their souls transferred and oh no I'm rambling again |

I really enjoyed Zankyou no Terror! It's definitely different than your average anime, and I liked two out of the three main characters. The ending is... well I don't want to spoil anything but let's just say I know why it has mixed reviews. In the end tho I'd say it's worth the watch! And you can always drop it after a few episodes ^^
