Eduard Rainer Fitzherbert Son of Rapunzel & Eugene
Fitz stifled a yawn, bringing a hand up to his wave in an attempt to hide the yawn from anyone that might see it. He had been up way too late last night, but hey, when someone threw a party, he was going be there. Maybe not as someone actually invited to the party, but he was totally sneaking in, DJing the heck out of that party and then inevitably getting kicked out once the actual party guests - and the host obviously - caught onto what was going on.
Which was exactly what he had done the previous night. People weren’t too happy about it, especially not the actual DJ of the party. But it was chill, there hadn’t been a fight. Though it did look like the other DJ was ready to fight him, right then and there, in their giant rabbit head. Which might’ve actually been because Fitz had told the other DJ that the rabbit head was stupid. It hadn’t meant to come out as rude as it did, he had just thought he was being honest.
Rabbit head did not appreciate his honesty.
Chivalry really was dead, wasn’t it?
But anyways, so after he had jumped out the window and climbed down the tree to escape getting into a fight with the rabbit head wearing DJ - all the while wearing his own official DJ outfit, which was way cooler - he had barely made it back to the dorms by dawn. It had been another sleepless night.
Totally worth it though.
Blinking away the last of the blurriness left behind from the lack of sleep, Fitz smiled as he spotted his younger sister making her way over to him. Despite how tired he was, he had enough energy to smile at Rosie. After all, there was no reason not to, his sister had done nothing wrong ever, and he’d fight anyone that said otherwise, just like that rabbit head wearing mediocre DJ almost threw down with him. Except he actually would throw down. He’d go toe-to-toe with them.
But that wasn’t important right now. ”Ay, a flower crown,” Fitz said, reaching up to pick the flower crown up off his head and look at it for a minute. The flowers were pretty, he liked them. ”Dope,” he decided with a nod of his head before placing the crown of flowers back on top of his baseball cap covered head.
Quickly, the son of Eugene and Rapunzel looked around, nodding his head in agreement. ”Yeah its real nice today,” he decided, shooting a glance back over at Rosie. ”Whatcha been up to?” He asked her, shoving his hands in the pockets of his jacket as he started walking beside his younger sister.

Toshiro Hikaru Hamada Son of Tadashi & Honey Lemon
Getting the idea that he was supposed to follow his cousin, Toshi let himself be dragged along with her. Though really it was less of him being dragged and more of him willingly walking beside her while she tried to drag him off. ”I don’t think I have a ferret preference, all your ferrets are great, Hono,” he told her as he walked alongside her, taking the chance to look around at the Auradon Prep grounds as he did so.
The school was beautiful, it almost made him miss being here. Well, not really, but the ground were pretty to look at. Everything was so green and full of life. Chuckling quietly when Honoka mentioned going easy on him - or rather, the lack of going easy on him - Toshi glanced down at his cousin. ”Good, I don’t want anyone going easy on me, even if this is my first ferrets race,” he told her, paused, and puffed out his chest proudly. ”After all, you are talking to San Fransokyo’s champion worm racer...seven years in a row,” Toshi bragged proudly, a smug grin spread across his visage.
After all, worm racing was a matter of great importance, even if people didn’t seem to think that it was. That was okay though, they’d regret their choice when a mad scientist inevitably mutated worms to the size of skyscrapers and they took over the world and enslaved everyone that thought of them as worthless and stupid.
Toshi would be saved, not because he was the mad scientist in this situation or anything...obviously. No, he would be saved because he knew the true worth that worms held, and he knew the importance of worm racing. When their worm titans eventually wiped out most of humanity, he would be safe, and he would use that to try and save as many doubters as possible.
But in the end it wouldn’t be up to him, it would be up to his worm overlords and all he could hope is that they would take mercy on the rest of humanity.
Anyways.
Answering Hono’s question about school, Toshi gave a shrug in response. ”School’s going alright. I’m working on this project right now, but I cant tell you, its a secret-“ that seemed like a better thing to say than that he was just stumped and didn’t know how to get himself un-stumped, but he wasn’t going to tell her that. ”How’s school going for you?” He asked, changing the topic as he looked down at his cousin.

Constance Paige Slade Daughter of Copper & Penny
Either oblivious to the rustling or so used to it that she didn’t care, Connie payed no attention to the noises going on just above her head. Instead she simply picked up her sandwich and took another bite out off of, letting out a quiet hum as she read over some papers spread out in front of her. It wasn’t anything interesting, sadly, just an article she was supposed to read for school. There was an online version as well, however Connie had always preferred physical copies of things like this. There was just something all the more fulfilling about physical copies than scrolling down on a phone.
Barely jumping when Val spoke up, Connie smiled and looked over at her friend hanging from the tree. ”Hi Val, you planning on coming down from the tree?” She questioned, patting the ground next to her. ”I have food,” she added, gesturing over to the small tubberware placed by her side. Inside was a neatly wrapped up sandwich, an extra one.
Connie has no plans of eating it for herself. She liked sandwiches but one was plenty to fill her up. The other was for her friend, or anyone else that might’ve been hiding in that tree, waiting to hang from it like a possum. Maybe the sandwich could even be for a possum. Connie wouldn’t mind sharing her food with a possum.
However Val got first dibs on the extra sandwich and that was that. ”How’d you wind up in that tree anyways?” Connie asked before taking another bite out of her sandwich, not in the least bit bothered by her friend’s random appearance. She had known Val long enough to become accustomed to Val appearing out of nowhere at any given moment, in any random location. By now Connie expected it, and it was weird if she didn’t have Val show up somewhere at least once during the day.

Valerie Tara Tweed Daughter of Tod and Vixie
Food was a tempting offer to come down from her perch.
Val's ginger head disappeared for a moment into the branches, before she reappeared, scrambling down the branches with the ease of someone who'd had a lot of practice doing so. She spent a lot of time in trees, it was just fun. Between finding a peaceful place to nap and dropping down on some unsuspecting victim, trees were fun.
"Your sandwiches are the best!" This wasn't even Val just saying that. Sure, it was hard to mess up a sandwich, but it was equally hard to make a sandwich the best. And she'd never had a bad, or even just okay, sandwich from her best pal. "What kind are they?"
Connie's next question distracted Val, and suddenly she wasn't quite as hungry as she'd been a second ago, her need for a sandwich being filled with a gross...sinky sort of feeling. Like she'd eaten something she shouldn't have, and her body was trying to tell her that, but without eating.
She'd been in the tree because she'd been hiding.
Maybe it was stupid, hiding from Plato like this, they went to the same school and frequented some pretty similar areas. It was just plain dim to think she could avoid him for the rest of her life. But she'd been doing pretty well at hiding so far, and it helped that sinky feeling to just...stay away from the Olympia boy.
Instead of explaining this, though, she grinned at her best friend again, deflecting the question with a sassy remark."What d'ya mean, Connie? I got in the tree by climbin' it." The tease was joined by a playful jab with the Tweed girl's elbow. "Foxes don't have wings, I didn't fly up there."

Kadiri Jalil Negasi Son of Kion and Jasiri
Twelve. It was the perfect number. Twelve days of Christmas. Uh... Magnesium was number 12 on the periodic table... Twelfth night by Shakespeare. Twelve inches in a foot. See, twelve was an important number that had contributed a lot to society.
But today, twelve was making its greatest impact.
He was going to throw twelve of his own items at the greatest target. Kiburi.
See, his sister wasn’t a bad person. No, she was actually pretty cool and even Kadiri would admit that he enjoyed hanging out with her. But see, he had an important job. And that job was being a little brother.
Now, what did a little brother do? Well, really, it was quite simple. Little brothers all over the world had one simple job. All they had to do was bother their older siblings. Whether it was verbal or physical or emotional or mental or whatever else it could possibly be, the greatest possible irritation was the main goal when one took on the role of a little brother. Or... well, one didn’t really take on that role. It was more thrust upon them as a screaming infant that truly resembled an alien.
See, Kadiri had this theory that all newborns were simply alien. Maybe they were there to harvest the DNA of the mothers in an effort to make an alien race of mother clones. The teenager had to shudder at that thought. There’d be no escaping the lectures and the chores and the ‘being forced to finish food before eating dessert’ thing if there was an entire race of these alien mom clones. Then, at some point, the alien infant is replaced by an actual child. He really hadn’t figured out where these actual children came from, but that was clearly the only flaw in his theory. Maybe he’d track down someone smart to help him figure it out. Talia Tweed was smart, but she didn’t seem to be the type to be willing to help Kadiri in his quest for fame and fortune. Tua Possible was an option. Kadiri had never actually talked to the young genius, but he seemed chill.
Okay, where was he going? Ah, yes. The role was thrust upon them as a screaming effort simply because their parents decided that they wanted another little demon running around the house. In Kadiri’s case, he was that third little demon. Although, sometimes this little brother just happened. It wasn’t necessarily what the parents had been trying to do, but they ended up with the little demon anyway. He wasn’t exactly sure what had led to him, but all that mattered was that he had to embrace the lifestyle of a little brother.
He had to terrorize any and all siblings. Luckily, he only had two. Kiburi and Jaja. Two wasn’t horrible. He could manage terrorizing them. Some families had like four kids. Or eight. Or twelve. Heck, some families probably had like sixteen kids. He was sure there were some hanging around on Auradon, though he didn’t pay much attention. And he had no doubt there were some of those sixteen kid families on the Isle. He felt bad for the little brothers in those families.
Anyway, back to his own dear family. Squad of siblings. Terrific trio. Chaotic crew. Uh.... Astonishing.... Aces? He wasn’t sure what it meant, but it would would. He had two targets and things had been peaceful lately. Kadiri decided it was well past the point of comfort for him. He had to put an end to this ‘peace’ between him and his older siblings. First on his list? Dear sister Kiburi.
Ah, Kiburi. She didn’t deserve what was coming to her today, but it was simply what happened when one was the older sibling. It was to be expected, and he was sure that she had her own duties as an older sister. Maybe punching him when he got out of line, though she had to know that that would only worsen what befell her from his hands.
Sometimes, he had to wonder what it was like to be an only child. Surely it got boring? There was no one to torture or battle against. No one to scream at one day and hug the next. While being a sibling wasn’t always perfect, it was also something that Kadiri wouldn’t trade for the world. At the same time, he would sell his siblings for 3 corn chips a piece. Or maybe a good piece of pie or something. Who knew?
Same with being a twin. But without a younger or older sibling. It was an even playing field then. Maybe he’d talk to Kiburi after everything went down and ask if she remembered life before Kadiri. How was it for the twins? Had everything been peaceful since there was no age difference that put them on different playing fields? Or was this fire even more intense because they were battling it out for alpha twin? Or had they been too young to remember life before Kadiri? Maybe. Oh well, then he’d just have to find some twins that didn’t have any older or younger siblings.
What about the bigger groups? Triplets, quads, maybe even bigger? He’d never personally met anything bigger than a quad, but they existed. Was there just a whole chaotic mess of fighting among each other? Or was it smaller, more contained battles like the very basic older vs younger? Or maybe everything was peaceful? Huh. He’d have to find someone to bother about that as well not.
Scrambling to his messy desk, Kadiri tossed a pair of dirty underwear from his desk chair to his bed. He’d take care of those later. Right now he needed.... AHA! He grabbed the pad of paper and pen, scribbling down a few words: “Twins - Kiburi??? Or other Triplets+ - no idea tbh Single kids? Gotta be some in auradojo”
Once the notes were written, he put it over on his desk. This investigation was important after all, much more important than his homework. Maybe he’d grow up to be a sibling-ologist. That was a thing, right? If not, he’d make it a thing. It was very important to understand the workings of a tight sibling relationship. Or non right ones. Ooooh. Maybe he could even look at distant siblings or adopted siblings. What if he was adopted? Or the twins? Or, (cue the dramatic gasps), just one of the twins? That would certainly be a scandal. Unless they already knew about it and were just keeping Kadiri out of the loop. Hmmm. He’d need it observe them both next time all three siblings were together. Maybe even drop hints and see if either of them panicked.
But right now, he had a date. Or Kiburi had a date. Yeah, she had a date. A date with destiny. But maybe not quite as final and serious as destiny. Maybe like a date with the fortune from a fortune cookie in a super sketchy Chinese restaurant that everyone knew would never come true. Yeah, that sounded better. That wasn’t quite as final as destiny and he knew Kiburi was destined for better things that having 12 of her little brother’s personal belongings thrown at her. (See, that was his attempt at being a good brother.)
Looking around his room, Kadiri dug a duffle bag out of his closet and began to fill it with eleven of his chosen items. One. A half empty water bottle that he’d brought with him on his run that morning. Two. A pen with no cap because he’d been chewing on the cap while he thought and decided to just throw it away so he didn’t choke. That would be a sad way to die and he had no plans of dying unless he was slain in battle by a worthy opponent. Three. The small pillow he used for his shoulder when he’d injured it. It had been good for about a month now, so the pillow could be spared. Hey, maybe this throwing would be good for his shoulder. Four. An unopened granola bar. Healthy and quick snack. Painful ammunition. Five. A fork. No, that was too dangerous. He didn’t want to actually hurt her. A plastic spoon. Six. A shoe. And not one of his nice shoes. One of the gross shoes he only used for like physical activity outdoors. It was covered in mud and smelled absolutely terrible. Seven. That shoe’s sole mate. Get it? Sole, like soulmate, but shoes. Eight. The stuffed dog he’d slept with every night since he was three. Nine. He homework he had to due for tomorrow. Oops. At least he had a valid excuse for not doing it. ‘My sister ate my homework. I don’t have a dog’. Wow. He really needed to get a dog. Ten. Another bottle of water. This one was empty, so he supposed it was just a bottle. Eleven. He eyed the dirty underwear on his bed and after serious deliberation for a moment, he grabbed the pair from the end of his bed where they’d come to rest and tucked them into his bag. That was the ammo that should most definitely be kept for last.
Item twelve? Well that was his trusty basketball. That was part of his secret handshake with his older sister and he was sure she’d appreciate the gesture. In a way, it was almost an assurance that he meant no harm with his sudden assault.
Satisfied with what he packed, the lion boy left his dorm room with a grin. He hefted the bag over one shoulder and began to trot down the hallway with his ball tucked under his arm. He pushed his way to the outside world and slowly kept his eyes peeled for his older sister. She couldn’t ambush him. That would definitely ruin whatever he tried to pull on her. That would be embarrassing. A complete mockery of not only Kadiri Jalil Negasi, but of little brother’s everywhere. He’d be shunned, forced to give up his title and leave his family in shame. Maybe he’d be adopted by some cool bears somewhere and could truly explore his wild roots. He was a Prideland kid. He ached for the freedom that came with life out there. He wanted to live beyond the walls of Auradon, no longer being coddled by those that wanted to protect these children.
He wanted to be free. Then he would t have to wear shoes or pants and he could dance in his underwear whenever he wanted. And run. He was an active boy and loved running. Maybe when he was free of Auradon, he could run every single day. He bet the Isle kids didn’t have to go to school. They probably got to do whatever they wanted and didn’t get punished for not doing their homework. Dang. For the millionth time, Kadiri wished he had been able to be a transfer. He would’ve loved to see the Isle. Maybe he could see if Kiburi would be willing to help him find a way to the Isle now.
Shaking his head, the teen realized he’d been off track again and he looked to make sure there was no sign of a sneak attack from Kiburi. She couldn’t be talented to pull off a sneak attack without dropping hints, could she? He didn’t have to worry about it, because he spotted his sister anyway. Smirking, he approached her and lowered his bag to the ground.
”Hey, Idiot!” he yelled, grinning as he picked up his ball. He was still quite a distance from her, so he chucked it at his sister’s head. She always managed to catch these wild throws, so Kadiri didn’t worry about it actually hurting her. He the ducked down and unzipped his bag. He reached for the first item he could find - his shoe. He threw it at her and then followed up with its solemate. Next came the half empty water bottle and then the empty bottle. He fished around before pulling out the pillow. That was thrown at his sister and his stuffed dog soon followed. A capless pen came next, hurled straight towards her face. Granola bar. Spoon. The homework that he still hadn’t done. Oops.
Lastly, he grabbed the dirty underwear and balled it up in his hands. He’d wash them afterwards.... the underwear and his hands. He threw with all his might, but didn’t even get to see if his underwear hit their target. Instead, the momentum of his follow through had the boy on the ground. He clutched his freshly healed right shoulder with his hand, any amusement or deviousness drained from his expression. Instead, he grimaced. ”My shoulder...”he whimpered, trying to ignore the searing pain. He had to look tough for Kiburi.
But, dang, his shoulder hurt. He just hoped he hadn’t messed it up again.

Ramona Blanchefleur Bong Daughter of Bing Bong & Rainbow Unicorn
There was always something so enchanting about entering someone else’s imagination. It opened up a million different possibilities that simply didn’t exist before. What was once a closed mind to Ramona was now open, gates throw to the side as the world around them began to shift into whatever Gabby wanted it to, even if she didn’t know that was what was happening.
Speaking of Gabby, at her question, Ramona was pulled from her thoughts. Slowly, the rainbow haired girl looked back to Gabby, head tilted to the side. ”Hmm?” She asked, only pausing once she noticed that Gabby had yet to shift into a human form. ”Oh, of course,” Gabby was from Zootopia partially, it would make sense that her natural state was more animal than human. ”That’s perfectly normal,” Ramona reassured with a smile. ”See, in Imaginary Land you take on the form you’re most comfortable with, think of it as your natural form,” Ramona explained with ease, stopping again to look down at herself. ”Which reminds me...”
Just as the words slipped from her tongue, a pink mist emerged from the ground, encasing the bottoms of her feet with the thick substance. From there it rose higher, a light shining from behind her until the sparkly mist like substance had completely covered Ramona from head to toe, lifting her into the air as the light grew stronger. Ramona began to twirl in the air, mist hiding her however even with the mist, bits and pieces could be seen. Like a large pink and red elephant trunk sprouting from the mist, a dorsal fin of blended pink and purple colors, and a rainbow colored unicorn horn.
Eventually the mist began to lower Ramona back to the ground, only disappearing once her feet slid safely onto what was probably the ground in this Imaginary land.
As the mist slowly began to leak away, it left way to get a look at the...creature left behind.
Where a rainbow haired girl once stood there was now some sort of fluffy...thing standing on two feet. Cotton candy rainbow colored all the way through, in colors that matched Ramona’s hair from before. An elephant trunk sprouted from her colorful, fluffy face, with large elephant like ears sticking out on either side of her head and a large rainbow unicorn horn on the top of her head. Her eyes were still purple and green, much like how they had been before. However that and the color of her fur were where the similarities stopped.
A massive amount of cotton candy muted rainbow fluff made up the largest portion of her body, with her arms being significantly less fluffy and more cat like in appearance, while her legs appeared more like those of a horse, and were also not near as fluffy as the majority of her body. Her tail poofed out like cotton candy on a stick, being mostly blue, green, and yellow in color. Sprouting from her back was a dorsal fin similar to that of a dolphin’s, blending in color to the massive amounts of fluff the girl had to her.
Even her clothes changed to fit the new look.
Gone was her attire from before, now replaced with a worn down brown jacket, a plain white shirt underneath, and a brightly colored skirt.
Ramona paused for a moment, glancing down at her current appearance, quickly taking to note all the fluff that stuck out. Sheepishly, she looked back to Gabby. ”It’s...it’s fluff,” she explained weakly, trunk moving around as she spoke. Her half beast out and beast out form were certainly a lot...bigger than her typical human form, sometimes it was hard not to get just a little self conscious about it.
Even if it was just fluff and she knew that.
She’d tried to change it before, to something that appeared less like a giant rainbow cloud. However apparently there were just some things that couldn’t be changed. Maybe if she cut her hair in her human form, but Ramona could never do that, she was far too fond of the long, rainbow locks. Even if she lacked them in this form.
Looking around, Ramona noticed the slight change in scenery, having gone from nothing but pink to a palette of greens and yellows, with a mixture of the Louisiana bayou and the African savannah greeting them in return. Ramona smiled, a hat much like her father’s poofing into existence on her head. She nodded to the trees as they emerged into existence, tipping her hat to them. ”Pleasure to meet you, trees,” she greeted before she continued on to follow Gabby, as the other girl clearly had a place in mind to go, and Ramona was happy to follow along for. The ride.
After all, it wasn’t her imagination, she was just the guide. Gabby was in charge here. Besides, a large part of her was curious as to what Gabby had to show her.
Following after the other girl, Ramona stopped as Gabby plunged her hand into the darkness, pulling forth a box. Ramona tipped her head slightly to the side, trunk moving up to inch it’s way underneath her hat and give her furry head a scratch, her large elephant ears flapping as she waited for Gabby to open up the box and reveal what was inside. Whatever it was, Ramona was certain it would be worth the wait. Things like this always were. It was one of the many fun parts of being a certified imaginary friend and an imaginary guide - though she still considered herself a friend to everyone she helped out anyways - there were many great things that came with the job.
Getting to know the person through their imagination, creating something new with them and thriving off of their creativity. Those were all some of Ramona’s favorite things. However one of her other favorites was the unexpected that game with it. Reality had a way of becoming predictable after so long, but there was nothing predictable about Imaginary Land, which was just one of the many things she loved about this place, and right now, whatever was inside that little box was a mystery to her, and that made it all the more exciting.
Kneeling down beside Gabby, Ramona eyed the box curiously, patiently waiting for Gabby to open it. Luckily she didn’t have to wait long and soon out came a little caiman that didn’t seem quite so ordinary.
Ramona smiled, her smile growing bigger with every second as she looked at the adorably small caiman. An imaginary friend if she ever saw one...pocket sized. ”Well hello there Cadence, it’s wonderful to meet you,” Ramona greeted, blowing her trunk at the tiny creature to return the musical greeting. It was only polite after all, she had to use this trunk for something. ”Have you been here all this time?” Ramona questioned, patiently waiting for the creature to respond.
Imaginary Friends typically fell into two different types.
Those that could exist outside the imagination of someone else, and those that couldn’t. In a way, Ramona had an imaginary friend of her own in Marville. The bee was gaining his own consciousness outside of hers, and she was aware of that. It was the reason he could drag her back to reality whenever those sheep drifted her off again. However despite that, would he exist outside of Ramona’s imaginary land? That was a question that no one had answered yet, and whether or not there truly was an answer was still up for debate.
After all, on one hand, if imaginary creatures were created in the imaginary land of an imaginary friend, they had the chance to gain consciousness outside of the mind of the imaginary friend. But could they go on and create their own imaginary land, or exist in the physical world? Perhaps, if they gained enough of their own self to exist separate from the imaginary friend they came from. But could they get to that point? None had yet, and it was likely none ever would. Even Imaginary Land had a few rules of it’s own, even if they were as loose as rules could be.
However that wasn’t the point of the matter here.
The point was that Ramona would bet money on her having just stumbled upon an imaginary friend in it’s own right. Cadence couldn’t be anything else, of that Ramona was quite certain. Was there a chance that she was wrong? Of course, there always was, with anything. Though Ramona had her doubts on that.
”Cadence is absolutely lovely,” Ramona spoke up again, cooing softly at the tiny creature as she spoke to Gabby. ”Such a sweet little thing, isn’t she?” She asked rhetorically, reaching a paw out to gently pet the creature on the stomach. It was a little awkward since what were usually her hands were currently cat like paws, but she made it work. Honestly, it wouldn’t do her any harm to practice being in this form more often. She didn’t use this form as much as she should, she was just a little less balanced in it.
”Yes, aren’t you just the cutest little thing?” She questioned, voice shifting into a higher pitch as she cooed at Cadence. ”The cutest thing I’ve ever seen, yes you are, aren’t you?” She asked, cooing at the caiman creature a little longer before she seemed to realize what she was doing and stood up, clearing her throat. She probably shouldn’t stay there, gushing about Cadence for too long, after all, she still hadn’t answered Gabby’s questions.
Clearing her throat a little, Ramona brushed down some of the fluff in an effort to make it a little less...big, and looked back to Gabby. ”To answer your questions though, yes it is completely normal. After all, we’re in your imagination, and it only makes sense to take on the form you’re most comfortable with,” Ramona told her as she moved towards the girl, a few magic sparks coming from her in one last final effort to do something about the fluff.
Moving on to the next question she could recall Gabby having, Ramona continued with a quick, giggly laugh.”this isn’t your brain though, don't worry, we’re not walking around on the inside of your brain,” Ramona reassured quickly, shaking her head to the side, her trunk swinging around with her.
It was a valid concern, all things considering. After all, it had been awfully pink only minutes before, and thinking over everything that she had explained, assuming this was the insides of Gabby’s brain wasn’t that out there of a thought at all. ”I’m sorry to disappoint but this isn’t your brain, even if that is a good guess,” Ramona told her, beginning to walk off just slightly. ”This is your imagination,” she corrected. ”We are currently in a realm that does not exist in the physical world, it...well, in a way it doesn’t really exist at all,” don’t think too much about it, that would just hurt your head. ”See, it’s kind of hard to explain...”
Pausing slightly, Ramona began to float up into the air as she tried to think of the best possible way to explain Imaginary Land to Gabby. A way that would make sense of the things that didn’t make sense at all.
Really, Imaginary Land didn’t make sense, but that in itself actually made sense in a way. However it was best not to think too much about it, lest you get confused.
Which was very possible with Imaginary Land.
But anyways, how was she supposed to explain all of this to Gabby without causing her even more distress?
A lightbulb literally appeared above her head, bright as ever as an idea came to her.
”A song!” Ramona cheered as the idea came to her. She’d sing out an explanation to Gabby. After all, things seemed so much easier to understand when there was music to accompany it. Plus with who Gabby’s parents were she was probably well accustomed to random songs. Ramona couldn’t pass up the opportunity.
With a snap of her...paw...toes, a few different instruments appeared before her, all sparkling in different colors of the rainbow. There was a guitar, a bass, a set of drums, a keyboard, and some others hanging out in the background. She gave a small, curt nod of her head to the baton that had materialized in front of her, a swirl of different rainbow themed colors, matching the colors and design of the horn on her head.
The baton almost appeared to nod back and quickly shot behind her, tapping the music stand that had also simply materialized as needed. The rainbow baton waited a second and then began conducting the instruments behind Ramona, each of them beginning to play a song.
Taking that as her cue to start, Ramona moved towards the center of her display, smiling over at Gabby at first before she launched into the song, a sort of slow, melodic tune hanging in the air. ”You see Gabby,We’re not in any old land anymore,” she started, shaking her head a little. ”We’re not in Auradon, we’re not on the Isle, we’re not in space or on the moon,” Ramona continued, magic dust sparkling around her feet as she was lifted ever so slightly into the air with the instruments and the baton. ”Not in the air or on the ground, not in the sea or underground, not in your brain, not in a physical place anymore...” her voice began to trail off as the music picked up, getting louder and clearer, clouds beginning to form a sort of makeshift stage underneath her feet.
”We’re in Imaginary Land,” Ramona sang, her trunk gesturing up vaguely to the air. ” Land of your imagination,” she continued, singing louder with each sentence, the music continue to pick up behind her. ”A realm unlike your own, we exist nowhere known, we’re in a land where anything goes,” Ramona paused for a second, smirking slightly back down at Gabby. ”A realm where you’re in control of all your imagination chose,” she continued on, tapping her feet onto the clouds as little clouds crawled out of the much larger one, each cloud having their own little arms and legs as they formed a line behind her.
What? Every singer had to have backup dancers.
So with a smile, Ramona continued, very slowly picking up pace. ”It’s Imaginary Land, land of your imagination,” as a microphone appeared in front of her, she took it in her paws. ”Whatever you dream of, whatever you desire, it’s in your imagination, you can think up anything, anything at all...” Ramona paused, voice trailing off and music slowing down, microphone vanishing into thin air.
At first it seemed like that might’ve been it, and then all of a sudden the music started up again, this time getting faster and faster by the seconds. ”Like a...” Ramona started, giving it one more pause before she plunged into the song, singing as fast paced as she could. ”Flying pig, a monkey swing, a diamond in the rough!” She sang, little cloud poofing up into the air next to her as she did, each cloud dancing behind her as it changed colors, the middle becoming a screen, each showing one of the things she had mentioned. First a flying pig, followed by a monkey swing, and a diamond in the rough. ” Pizza talking, llama squawking, all kinds of stuff!” Ramona continued, jumping into the air at that last one, throwing her arms out in a grand gesture as even more little clouds flew up into the sky, each one growing in size and showing off the things she described. ” Elbow noodles, hawk potatoes, pasta that wont boil~” Ramona continued on, throwing an armful of uncooked spaghetti noodles down at Gabby as she sang. She had a bit of limited resources here, as it was Gabby’s imaginary land, however Ramona could do what she had to add a bit of Ramona spark to the song. ”Gold sherbet, elephant shipping, an entire gallon of oil.” At that a large bucket - enough to fill a gallon - appeared in front of her and with a swift kick, Ramona sent the bucket tumbling over, oil flooding out, however before it hit the floor it dissipated into mint green foam that then separated and fell from the sky as mint green snowflakes that never truly hit the ground. ” Poodle noodle, space elves, a princess in disguise!” As she sang the clouds began linking arms and dancing behind her as well, very quietly beginning to chant “La la la la la la la” three times. ”People dressed as blueberries, rain made out of sunshine, watermelon themed animal spies!”
At this point Ramona picked up her voice even more, holding that last note as she twirled in her spot, outfit changing into some sort of dress and floppy hat. Which might’ve been something weird to pick as her outfit, but it worked out well enough for her. Meanwhile the clouds began to chant a little louder, little voices picking up as they chanted to the note Ramona held. ”La la la la la la la, la la la la la la la, la la la la la la la!”
Disappearing in a cloud of rainbow smoke, Ramona made her next appearance sitting on a different cloud as it lowered back to the stage, Ramona singing along in her dress and hat as the cloud descended from the sky. ”It’s all in your imagination,” she sang down at Gabby, stepping off the cloud and back onto the stage. ”There’s no reason for hesitation,” she continued, swaying to the music as she walked over to the edge of the stage. ”Just dream up any little thing,” Ramona paused for only a moment, a smile crossing over her face as her voice lifted up again. ”See what your imagination can bring!” With that she threw her arms back into the air and the fast paced tune picked up again.
”Exploding potatoes, snow leopard twins, imaginary cannibals!” Much like before, clouds began to float up behind here, each one displaying a picture that showcased the three things she had listed. ”Were-chickens, creamed corn, an entire planet run by animals!” The clouds began to dance, letting out happy little cheers as they did so, the pictures circling within what could only be described a the clouds little stomachs. ”Mexican jumping beans, antibacterial creams, a werecow on a rampage!” Just as before, the pictures began to show on the few clouds that had flown above them, showcasing the pictures for everyone to see. As for the other clouds, they began to separate into two different groups, the small clouds group, that though much larger in number, was made up of very small clouds, no bigger than a hand sized. The other group only had ten clouds in it, but all were much taller, as tall as Ramona actually. ”Quail eggs, gigantic earthworms, immortal fairies that just don’t age!” Ramona continued to sing as the large clouds began to do the can can dance behind her. ”Jazzercise musical numbers, wrestling in your underwear, a world without food dye!” As she kept singing, the smaller clouds began to circle the entire stage, also doing the can can dance. ”Penguins with bows, an umbrella that talks to you, lions, tigers, and bears, oh my!” Ramona continued, bringing her paw up to her mouth to let out a mock gasp after her last line.
As Ramona fell quiet, the clouds took over, beginning to chant the same thing they had been singing before. ”La la la la la la la, la la la la la la la, la la la la la la la!” As they sung, Ramona disappeared from stage the same time the larger clouds danced backstage, coming back onto stage from the opposite stage, this time with Ramona in the middle of them, with five clouds on either side, all were dressed in rainbow themed colored dresses fit for the can can dance, including Ramona. There was no singing during this, just the fast paced music as the little clouds continued to chant while Ramona and the larger clouds continued on with their dance, kicking their legs into the air and shaking their skirts as the music got louder and more fast paced with each go. They continued to dance for awhile, a beautiful array of colors lighting up the entire stage, even the little clouds all began to change colors as they circles and danced around the stage.
At one point the larger clouds and Ramona split apart from each other and moved forward, doing different parts of the dance, skirts shooting up and legs kicking all around in a bizarre yet enchanting display of different colors and such an energy that clung to the air that it was all impossible to ignore.
Finally Ramona stepped away from the dancing clouds, approaching the microphone that had appeared once again, her previous dress fading away to reveal a different dress underneath, one equally as frilly and colorful. Grabbing hold of the microphone, Ramona looked down at Gabby again, smiling as she began to sing once again. ”It’s all in your imagination, there’s no reason for hesitation, just dream up any little thing, see what your imagination can bring!” Ramona sang throwing her paws up into the air again as the fast pace picked up again and she could continue on.
”Flower castles, twirling stars, computers on the fritz!” At this Ramona grabbed her head and shook it about as if she herself was on the fritz. ”Mermaids in space, portals in the sea, a cat that only knits!” At this yarn shot out from behind her, spiraling down to the ground as the strings unraveled before hitting the ground, disappearing just before they did. ”Talking candy, plants that wear your clothes, an island full of misfits!” The clouds danced behind her, some floating into the air to show pictures of what she she was saying in the song. ”Singing rainbows, pink waterfalls, a walrus battle of wits!” As she sang a large rainbow crossed the sky behind her, music vibrating from it as it leaked into a pink waterfall that led to a pool where two walruses seemed to be in the midst of a battle of some kind. A battle of wits to be specific. ”Sun giants, robot self help books, a wardrobe full of penguin outfits!” The walruses were soon replaced by large giants too bright to get a close enough look at then, books flying through the air that were clearly the self help books she had sang about, and finally out from behind her a wardrobe appeared as it burst open and penguin clothes flew out of it. ”Magical butterflies, an existential fox, adventure at your fingertips,” at this the clothes turned into a flock of butterflies as they flew around the stage above her, with Ramona leaning over to the end of the stage as she danced on the edge, arm hanging off the very edge of the stage.
At this point the little clouds began to spiral on the stage behind her until they formed lines both in front of her and behind her, arms linked as they continued to chant. ”La la la la la la la, la la la la la la la, la la la la la la la!” They sang as Ramona got ready to continue her song, a glint sparkling in her mismatched eyes as she made her way back over to the microphone and gripped onto it, trunk stretching out and ears flapping as she brought the microphone closer to her body.
” A flying pig, a monkey swing, a diamond in the rough!” She sang, repeating the lyrics from before as a pig flew around above her and a diamonds fell from the sky like raindrops. ”Pizza talking, llama squawking, all kinds of stuff!” Ramona threw her arms back in the air, pizza with mouths and llamas appearing in the air above her as they joined the dance. ”Elbow noodles, hawk potatoes, pasta that wont boil!” Much like before things began to appear in the air as Ramona sang, joining the clouds that were already up there. Honestly by now it was quite the sight. A spectacle of wonders and imagination. ”Gold sherbet, elephant shipping, an entire gallon of oil!” Large pink shadow elephants took their place walking over the stage, sherbet the color of gold floating around in bowls, and pink oil leaking form the stage like a waterfall appeared as Ramona continued to sing, throwing her arms into the air. ”Poodle noodle, space elves, a princess in disguise!” Ramona continued to sing, poodle noodles dancing around the air above her like perfect little doggies with poodle hair on their heads and tails, their bodies the shape of various different noodles. ”People dressed as blueberries, rain made out of sunshine, watermelon themed animal spies!”
As even more things came to life on the stage the clouds began to make their way to the front of the stage, arms still linked as they began to sing. ”La la la la la la la, la la la la la la la, la la la la la la la!” They sang happily, making it to the edge of the stage before one by one they all jumped off, little parachute of different colors appearing on their backs as they fell from the sky with little cheers, disappearing just before they could hit the ground. This continued until the very last cloud had jumped off the edge of the stage and drifted down the ground, disappearing in a puff of rainbow colored smoke.
With a burst of light, everything that had come to be within the song disappeared. The poodle noodles, the pink oil, the shadow elephants, the pizza and the flying pigs. Every single thing that had been poofed into existence during the song was gone within a flash of pink and red, even the clouds rolled out of the scene by themselves, leaving Ramona alone on the stage in a different outfit from the others before. Her dress had been replaced by a long, purple and gold coat, with a hat to match sitting perched up on her head, a hole in the hat for her horn to stick out of.
The music had slowed by now, slowing even more as the singing picked up again.
”It’s all in your imagination, there’s no reason for hesitation, just dream up any little thing, see what your imagination can bring,” she sang, voice slowly growing softer and softer as the words flew from her mouth, voice soft but not quiet. ”It’s Imaginary Land,” she sang, closing her eyes for a moment or so before she opened them again. ”Land of your imagination,” Ramona continued, dragging out the last word for awhile before she let it go and moved on to the next. ”Whatever you dream of...Whatever you desire..” Slowly she began to trail off, song getting slower and slower as she did so. ”It’s in your imagination...”
Just as the song began to slow, Ramona picked up her voice once more, that smirk returning to her face as she took a step back. ”It’s all in your imagination, there’s no reason for hesitation!” She sang with her arms throw into the air as a swirl of color began to form around the stage. ”Just dream up any little thing, see what your imagination can bring,” she continued, music picking up again as she reached the end of her song. ”So give it a try, imagine anything that comes to mind,” Ramona sang, gesturing a hand to the side as a wave of color twirled off in the direction of her hand, ”Give it a whirl, I’m sure its not hard to find-“ she flicked her other hand to the other side of the stage, another burst of color twirling in the direction she ordered it to go. ”Something to imagine, for this is your imagination,” as she sang rainbow colored steps appeared out of thin air before her and Ramona quickly began to step up them. ”There’s no reason for hesitation,” she sang, pausing as she got to the top of the stairs case and throw her arms out again in a dramatic gesture, holding on to the last of the note as she sang out from the steps. ”Not in your imagination!”
At the very end of the song, even more colors - all the colors of the rainbow - burst from the ground, uniting with the step as they disappeared into a whirlwind of rainbow colored dust swirling around Ramona until the very last note came to an end and the dust cloud brought Ramona back down to the stage where she took a bow, a bit of clapping could be heard from...somewhere in the distance, though it was impossible to pinpoint exactly where. It was as if clapping had been made out of nothing just to go along with the end of the song.
Finally, when she was done bowing and the clapping came to a stop, Ramona stood up on the stage, looking over at Gabby with an all too pleased with herself smile. “Welcome to Imaginary Land, Gabby,” she said out loud, walking over towards the other girl. ”We aren’t in your brain, but we are in your imagination, it’s hard to explain,” Ramona continued once she had reached the other girl. ”The easiest way to say it is that we exist in a world that you make...with the exception of me, I’m a guide, which means I can create some things as well, but other that that, everything you see here came right out of your imagination,” Ramona told her, gesturing around to the scenery surrounding them with a large smile.

Constance Paige Slade Daughter of Copper & Penny
As soon as Val confirmed that she would like a sandwich, Connie made a grab for the tubberware on the ground, picking it up with one hand and waving it in the air for her friend to see, all while never looking award from the papers on the ground that she was supposed to be reading. ”Peanut butter and strawberry jam,” she explained, lowering the tubberware back down as she propped it open and set it down beside her. ”I was thinking of using apricot jam earlier, but I couldn’t find it, so it’s strawberry jam instead, crusts cut off,” Connie told her friend with ease.
Connie had a collection of different homemade jams she made and stored away for sandwich making later on. Sure she’d also make other types of sandwiches, like BLTs and vegetarian sandwiches, or even grilled cheese if she was in the mood. But her favorite and signature sandwich was a simple peanut butter and jam sandwich. The jam changed every time, depending on what she was in the mood for, but it was always there. Sometimes she switched it out for honey instead, but that just wasn’t as good as the different kinds of jams Connie had at her disposal. She couldn’t help it, she was a jam girl. She went all out with jams.
In a way you could say that Connie liked to jam out.
Connie giggled out loud at the thought.
Oh that was a good one, she’d have to remember that one for later, maybe write it down in her joke-scrap book. Which was a normal scrap book, but she wrote little jokes and puns she made up in the corners of the pages. It was fun, and it added flare to her scrap book. Even if no one but her actually ever read it. Which was fine, she didn’t need anyone else to read along if they didn’t want to, she had enough fun with it as it was.
Anyways, back to the topic on hand.
Finally looking away from her papers - she had stopped paying attention to what she was reading awhile ago - Connie finally looked over at her friend, rolling her eyes at Val’s answer. ”Well yes, I knew that,” she told her with a smile that made it clear she wasn’t really annoyed. ”I meant why’d you climb up there in the first place?” Connie explained, tipping her head to the side slightly as she looked her friend over.

Valerie Tara Tweed Daughter of Tod and Vixie
Well that just put a little more sunshine in Val's day.
Sure, a lot of days had been kind of garbage for her lately, but she had her best friend at her side to cheer her up and remind her that things were okay. Connie was always there with a smile and a sandwich, and apart from her five (count 'em, five) siblings, was the person that the Tweed girl trusted most in the world.
Plus, it was really hard to beat a crust-less sandwich.
Taking the sandwich from Connie, the fox busied herself with it for a moment, taking a bite and chewing it carefully before swallowing it. Sure, she'd suffered her share of reckless injuries, but she wasn't stupid. Choking on food was, quite possibly, the lamest way to die. Not that Val wanted to die. She wasn't that down in the dumps, and while it hurt, that would be kind of dramatic.
Speaking of which.
Val felt a lump in her throat at Connie's question, and suddenly it was a little hard to get that sandwich to go down. "Why was I in the tree?" That was a good question, and the Tweed girl gave an awkward chuckle.
Reality: Val was in the tree because she'd seen Plato and her first thought was to yeet up the tree and out of sight. At least until the coast was clear, which had been about the time Connie had come by.
Should she tell Connie that? It was true, and she tried to tell her the truth. Lying was lousy, and her friend deserved better than that. Way better. But it was so stupid to actually say out loud, and the Tweed girl felt her face heat up.
"Well, haha, funny story you're gonna love it, Con." Valerie scrambled for a slightly truthful excuse to tell her friend. "You see...uh...I saw something interesting, up in the tree." There. That was true. She saw the interesting opportunity to get out of an awkward situation. Taking a bite of her sandwich, the ginger-haired girl tried to change the subject. "You know, you've really outdone yourself with this strawberry jam. Is it a new batch?"
Yeeeeeeeeeeah, nailed it.

Bastian Charles Dorian Clair Blase Alec Bête son of queen belle and king adam bête
If there was one thing Bast was good at, it was going noticed. He loved the fact that he could walk around campus with his hood up, and not get any attention. Kids knew him, sure, but he wasn't Alexander. He was one of many spares to the throne. Even when people cared about royalty, they usually didn't care about him. Going under the radar was his specialty and it was completely alright with him, really.
Especially when it meant he could easily sit down anywhere, next to anyone, and it not be weird. Well, it wasn't weird for him. It might be weird for the girl, but they'd had a class together once? Maybe. It was hard to know for sure. He really didn't care about school most of the time. He liked to anger his mother and getting bad grades was a fairly simple way to handle the issue.
Bastain pulled down his hoodie as he sat down under the tree, giving... Dakota! His memory supplied, giving Dakota enough space so that he wasn't intruding on her personal space. He didn't mean to look directly at her journal. Nosing around in someone else's work without their permission was quite rude and he wasn't Bella. But it was right there, just in his face! He couldn't not look at it.
And he laughed. Not because it was a bad poem, it was most certainly the best poem about school that he'd ever seen. However, the poem was still concerning school. Which, if anything, was strange. "Still serious about your literary education, I see." That was a good opener, right? Not too weird. Bast was doing his best to be a normal kid. He didn't have many friends and now that he was in a school with so many of siblings, he needed an escape from his family.

Eliana Cordelia Oldenburg daughter of ariel and eric
When looking outside, something on the roof had caught her eye. Was that... Matthias?! She couldn't tell who the other two members of the idiotic trio were, but they looked familiar. Eliana groaned audibly as she thought, oh you've got to be kidding me. Did he have wings?! She was going to kill him.
Eliana vowed to never hurt her family, but she was going to kill him.
She took off towards the roof, taking steps two at a time. She was not about to be responsible for Matthias' death. Melody would absolutely kill her. Or she wouldn't care. Either way, Eliana would end up dying. By her own hand or the hand of an angry, grieving mother.
To be fair to herself, she couldn't control the stupidity genes that her sister had passed on into her son. She could only protect her nephew so much. He was, in fact, a grown boy. It's not like this was a five year old trying to eat sandpies.
And why flying, out of everything? They had the power to transform into half-fish people at the flick of their grandfather's wrist! Eliana did it every break, mostly to avoid her old, boring parents but also because she loved the sea! Why would any Triton descendant want to be in the air?! Stupid!
Slowing down on the nth staircase, Eliana started to pant, "Why. Is. This. School. So! Big!" She screamed through her heavy breathing, trying to store up energy so she could dramatically burst through the doors to the roof and yell at Matthias.
Unfortunately, it did not play out as nicely in reality as it did in her head.
Ending up on her knees, Eliana was crawling through the roof's door, "Stop," She paused and panted some more. "Stop, in the name of..." Eliana fell and flipped on her back, "In the name of Triton!" Trying to pull out the big guns to salvage this disaster in the least, she mentioned her grandfather. It should do something.
Or not, as with a closer look, Triton meant nothing to the Olympias. Well. Fish sticks. There goes that plan.

Flash Parr son of dash and fuli
By now Flash wasn’t even sure where he was. He felt like he was outside. It felt like he was outside. This was grass underneath him, right? And those...those were clouds up above him floating around like little wisps of cotton candy.
Heh. Cotton candy. That was a funny word. Cotton candy was just a funny thing in general. It wasn’t made out of cotton, so why was it called that? It was made out of candy, which was made out of...made out of… What was candy made out of again? ‘S’ something. Saltillo. That was a funny word. But that wasn’t what candy was made out of it. Or was it? Maybe it was. Maybe Flash was onto something here and candy really was made out of Saltillo. That meant cotton candy needed to be Saltillo candy. Which was still a really funny word but it made a lot more sense than the original name.
A slow laugh came from the cheetah boy as he continued to lay there about as limp as a wet noodle.
Was that Terra? Ohhhh, Terra. Right. Right, he was with Terra. Right? Hmmm. Or was he not with Terra? Maybe he wasn’t, but he was just going to act like he was and hope that this was correct. The voice sounded like Terra, so surely that’s who he was with. If he was wrong, well, then he was wrong and he would be told otherwise. That would be okay, though. He could handle being corrected.
Reaching out with his hand - or what he thought was his hand, his whole body was practically numb by now - Flash called out, ”Terra? Ayyyy, Terra, Terra, Terra, Terrrrrra, Terra, ay, Terra,” he kept going on repeat, each time the name being said causing bouts of laughter to erupt from the half cheetah. When did his girlfriend’s name-
Wait.
Wait.
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
Did his mind just call Terra his girlfriend?
It totally did. It totally freaking did.
If he wasn’t in whatever mood he was in right now he’d probably scream. So instead of screaming his body let out this really pathetic sounding ’hhhhhhhhhhhh’ that made the exact noise a squeaky rubber chicken would make when put under five-hundred pounds of pressure.
Flash continued to lay there, going in and out of being able to concentrate on whatever Terra was talking to him about. He heard something about buttercream, or he thought he did. Maybe she had said something about bologna; why she mentioned bologna at this point in time was beyond him. Maybe she was hungry and wanted a bologna sandwich. Ya know, that did sound good right about now. If he could just get up to his feet and find his way to the cafeteria he could make himself a bologna sandwich. The hard part was actually being able to get up when his entire body felt like the static on a TV when it wasn’t working right.
As if his thoughts had been read the cheetah boy soon felt himself being lifted up. Or it felt like he was being lifted up. His body didn’t feel like it was on the grass anymore. Instead he felt more...airy. Light. But also he felt like he was going to slump down and die at any second. But not before his sandwich. He was going to get that bologna sandwich before he died.
Was he moving now? Ooooh, he felt like he was moving. ”Getting sandwich,” he purred more to himself than anything. ”I want....bologna Saltillo.” He was really starting to lose it now. Whatever those jellybeans had done to him they sure were getting to him like nothing else had before.

Kurious Fredricksen son of kevin and dug
People had always told him that high school was going to be the best four years of his life. Family had told him that, friends had told him that, everybody had told him that. And so far high school wasn’t...that bad, but he didn’t like it. He had an art class that he really, really liked though. He got to draw and doodle and use really pretty colors like purple and green on his classwork. Coloring was always really fun, but then again Kurious was just a lover of anything colorful. Colors were nice and they made him happy. It was why he liked his hair so much - there was just so much color and vibrancy and it was just really nice hair. Like his brother’s hair, too. Klever also had really nice and pretty and colorful hair. And their mom! Kevin had pretty hair too. Colors were just so nice. Kurious could honestly go on and on about them all day.
Right, he was thinking about how his day had gone so far and how high school was proving to not be the best four years of his life.
Other than the art class Kurious didn’t really like his other classes. English was okay. History was fine. But math...math was a totally different story. He could do the basics like two plus five and four plus thirty, but anything beyond that and it was like his brain would short wire and go completely blank. Like with multiplication. He could do them, and he knew his times tables, but only after he had sat down and thought about it for a few minutes. Anything beyond that and he was just useless and terrible at math. Numbers just never got through to him. They were confusing and weird and he never really understood it. So when the math teacher had decided to pull a pop quiz on them Kurious had freaked out. He made it to the third question out of fifteen before his brain completely gave up and he sat there in terrified silence for the next ten minutes, staring hopelessly at the problem that has been given. Then when he had noticed that everybody else in the room had finished their pop quiz was when the panic and self loathing had really kicked in. So he had done the most reasonable thing.
He got up from his seat, choking back tears, and ran for it. Just took off like a rocket.
The math had been too much for him. That had been too much stress and Kurious had felt overwhelmed. Overstimulated really. He hadn’t been able to think and all he really wanted was a quiet place to curl up. He already had his comfort blankie in the backpack he wore at all times so all he would need to do was get it out once he found a secure spot to camp out. If he was a prestigious high school for kids of heroes and royalty, where would he have a quiet place to just sit down and curl up into a blanket cocoon? Then it hit him.
The library.
The bird-dog perked up at the idea of the library. He liked it there. It had really cool books and was always quiet. It was a safe space for him, somewhere he could go to chill and just relax after such a terrible experience.
The library wasn’t too far off from where Kurious currently was. He was able to get there without a hitch and he made a line straight for the science section. It was placed in a corner near the back, perfect for Kurious to make a little blanket cocoon. He also really liked the science section. That was another subject he really enjoyed along with art. Science made him just as happy as colors did.
Once at the science section the colorful boy took his backpack off, opened it up to take out his blanket and a few water bottles. He sat them on the ground before sitting down criss-cross applesauce style and immediately wrapping the blanket around him as tightly as he could make it without feeling too cramped inside. Once comfortable Kurious let out a happy little sigh as he began to calm whatever nerves were still frazzled by taking an end of his blanket and promptly beginning to chew on it.

Kiburi Negasi daughter of kion and jasiri
One would think that after coming back from running around the track for a good hour would make for a very tired lion-hyena, but energy was still coursing through the body of Kiburi Negasi. There wasn’t that feeling of being trapped and needing to just run for miles upon miles - she had literally just come back from running no telling how many miles - anymore, but if she needed to take off and run some more she knew she could do it without question. In fact, it would be fun to run some more. Or maybe instead of running some more she could go down to the basketball gym and see if anything was going on in there. If not then surely she’d be able to mess around and shoot some hoops, run around the court, get even more of that energy out. At least for now if she couldn’t get down to the gym then the worst of her need to get energy out was gone. If she needed to sit down and keep quiet then she could do it. She’d do it grudgingly but she would be able to do it without getting all twitchy. Sometimes having too much energy sucked. It sucked because sometimes Kiburi could be in class and all of sudden that urge to move and run would hit her out of nowhere. Usually she could hold it back until she was able to get up and go, but every so often a surge of energy would end up with her quickly jumping to her feet, hitting the desk, making the desk fall over with her right behind it, and then she was squirming on the ground with a desk also on the ground and the teacher telling her that she needed to calm down because it was the fourth time that week. In her defense that had only happened to her twice this week.
Considering she was out in the hallway and not outside in the middle of some sketchy area the lion-hyena wasn’t really on guard, but even when she wasn’t on guard or on the defensive she could always catch the basketball her younger brother threw at her. Any time, anywhere, no matter what. She was honestly just that good and nobody could tell her otherwise.
Kiburi turned quick on her feet as soon as she heard the familiar voice call out “Hey, idiot!”. Even before she caught the ball in her hands a sharp laugh that sounded oddly like that of a hyena’s slipped from her lips. Dark purple eyes narrowed into amused slits as she took in the sight of Kadiri. ”When will you ever learn that there’s no way you’re going to best me with a basketball?” She teased, the laugh still in her words as she spoke. ”I’m always gonna catch it.” There had yet been a time when she hadn’t caught a basketball her little brother had thrown at her. They could be anywhere doing anything and if her brother threw a basketball she’d be able to turn and grab it in her hands without a problem. It was like magic, but she didn’t have magic. Unless she did somehow. Could catching a basketball without fail even be a type of magic? It had to be. Kiburi was magic and she was going to keep it at that. That was something she was going to have to bring up the next time her entire family was gathered together - that there was a magical lion out and about and its name was Kiburi Negasi.
Now while she could catch a basketball she couldn’t catch everything that her brother had to throw at her. Seriously, where was he getting all of this stuff?
With relative ease she was able to dodge the shoe and its soulmate, and the half empty water bottle she was able to catch in her hand. This brought a smirk to her lips as she held her prize up in the air for Kadiri to see. ”You gotta be better than this!” She had to admit that she was very much so enjoying this. Dodging and catching took out some of that spare energy she had and honestly just showing up her brother was fun in itself.
Next came the completely empty water bottle which was something she dodged easily. The pillow was caught in her hands as well, but the stuffed dog that came next managed to land a hit. It didn’t hurt, it was just a stuffed dog, but the liyena let out a faint hiss under her breath. She was supposed to be able to dodge all of this, not let anything hit her. Luckily the next few items she was able to dodge, even managed to grab the pen that had been heading straight for her head as well. All of this was making her rather cocky.
Until the underwear.
Maybe she hadn’t expected it. No, it wasn’t a maybe. She honestly hadn’t expected Kadiri to throw a pair of his dirty underwear right at her. She also didn’t expect for her brother’s dirty underwear to be her downfall.
A loud scream came from the daughter of Kion and Jasiri as she stumbled back. The underwear had landed right on her face, momentarily blinding her. She fell into the wall with a breath of air escaping her. Luckily the vile piece of clothing fell off her face and she was able to recover from her trip against the wall. A growl grew in the back of her throat. ”Kadi-“ Her voice caught in her throat when she realized her sibling was on the ground, a grimace coating his face. Instantly she knew he wasn’t playing around and worry overcame her anger at the underwear attack.
”Kadiri? You okay?” Kiburi rushed over and asked, purple eyes sparkling with concern. Had he hurt his shoulder again? It had just finished healing, too. Hopefully he hadn’t strained it too hard and this was just a minor thing.

Gabriella Jabberjaws daughter of gazelle and louis
All of this was just so brand new. Which was to be expected since Gabby had only just heard about Imaginary Land and had only just gotten here like...what? Two minutes ago? Three? … An hour? Had she been here an hour already? What about two hours? Maybe she had actually been here for three days back in the real world. How exactly did time work here in Imaginary Land? What if three seconds here was three days back in Auradon. What if three days here was three seconds in Auradon? Or what if when somebody was brought here time just sort of froze and when they got back it would be like they had never left? Now that was just trippy, and Gabby wasn’t sure how exactly she felt about that. If time went slower here than it did in Auradon then what would happen if she stayed here for a few hours? Would she go back and a week had passed back home? Would people even look for her, or would people just go about their own business for that week and not even worry about her? That seemed like the most likely scenario. People would just go on and forget that Gabby had ever existed. Who even cared about the gazellagator anyway? It wasn’t like she had done anything to set her existence in stone. She wasn’t some queen’s daughter or the child of some magical fairy. No, she was just the daughter of some trumpet playing alligator and a singing gazelle. She really wasn’t anything. She was just the person who hid out backstage and waited for everything to be over with. The most she would get would be a small mention in a Wikipedia page on her parents, a small note that told the world she had been born to the two musical animals but that was it. Everybody else out there in Auradon probably had their own Wikipedia page and not just some small note at the bottom of the page.
Okay, no, this wasn’t the hill that she wanted to die on. Well, that thought process was an entire mountain range that included a thriving population of East Caucasian tur mountain goats that was lead by a very handsome ram that had lived out many of his years tending to his flock and being a very supportive father to all the kids he had sired. He was now living out his golden years high out in the mountains, his horns now long yet dull with age. He had a lot of grand kids that jumped around on his back as he tried telling them stories about the good ol’ days when alfalfa hay was only a two cents a bale, not the crazy amount of ten dollars and sixty-three cents that it was in these days. He also liked to tell his little grand kids, all fifty-five of them, about the day he had met their beautiful grandma. Grandgoat? No, that the term for a goat who also happened to be a grandparent wasn't important right now. What was important was the story behind this whole thought process and the tale of how grandpa goat met grandma goat all those years ago.
Years and years ago grandpa goat had been out grazing near a river bend. He had been in his prime, horns as sharp and curved as ever, eyes full of life and sparkling with youth. He had been chewing on a very nice patch of grass on that misty morning when all of a sudden a noise had alerted him to something in the nearby forestland. As any good protector of the herd he had looked up, and there she was, the most beautiful goat the young grandpa goat had every laid his beady little eyes upon. The sun had cast down its golden rays just right upon her as she had sauntered out of the woods. Not a single blemish besmirched her gorgeous apricot-colored fur. For him it had been love at first sight, and he had spent every single day since then courting grandma goat. It had taken approximately five hundred and forty-seven days for grandpa goat to finally win grandma goat's heart, and when he did he had been the happiest goat to have ever goated. Eventually they had settled down into their newfound live of love and passion for one another and became the cutest goat couple on that entire mountain range. Their story didn't just end there, no. In their prime they had together thirty-two kids who they were all very proud of. Their kids went on to find love themselves, which in turn allowed the parent goats to become grandparents, and now they had an amazing brood of little grand goats to tell their remarkable story to whenever the time called for it. It was quite a beautiful story, one that Gabby would love to hear straight from grandpa goat himself.
No, no, she needed to get back on track. What had she been thinking about before the old ram came to mind?
A hill to die on.
Right, right, that.
Anyway, thinking about her lack of a Wikipedia page was not the hill she wanted to die on, even if that was more a mountain than a hill that she would be dying on, but enough of that. The hill she was more willing to die on right now was the one that went on about time. She should ask Ramona about how time worked in these two different worlds, but each time she tried opening her mouth, nothing came out. In the back of her throat it was like her tongue was swelling and drying up, the weird fleshy mass of muscle in her mouth having gone completely useless to her. Gabby felt herself take a few shaky steps back, hooves sinking into the ground that had appeared the moment her imaginary landscape had turned from solid pink to a thriving ecosystem of bayou and savanna.
What exactly was time in this weird place? Okay, calling it weird was extremely rude of her. This place wasn’t weird. Well...maybe it was just a little bit, but it was a good weird, a really good weird. It was a nice place if not strange with how it worked. Gabby wasn’t sure what all could happen here or what even should happen here, but she trusted Ramona. She trusted anybody who saved her from falling to her death after casually throwing herself out of a window all because she had panicked over becoming some horrendous rougarou all over a long day with a long list of unfortunate events.
Get back on topic, Gabby, she growled to herself in the depths of her mind.
Wait. Now wasn’t the time to get back on track with the topic of time - heh, time was used twice in that statement. Anyway. If this entire land was made from her imagination, and the imagination was stated to be in the mind, did things she say to herself in her thoughts come out to be heard out here in the open? If she thought something to herself would it echo throughout this land of imagination like a clap of thunder? This was something she needed to try. If she didn’t try this out then she may never get the chance to test this theory ever again and having the answer to this question was extremely important. Now she just had to ponder over something that she could think.
Aha! She knew what she could think about.
With this new need to test out the theory Gabby was able to steady herself and calm down from the most of her earlier panic. She took in a deep breath through her nose, closed her eyes, and steeled herself for whatever answer revealed itself to her.
Rampant rowdy rabbits in rosy red rompers! She screamed out in her mind.
Nothing. Maybe she needed to try a second time.
Alfalfa hay is expensive and the old goat grandpa is very angry about that!
Nothing again. Third time’s the charm right?
Gabby’s hands clenched and she settled herself straight up as she once more screamed in the confines of her mind, Two tiny tacos traversed through tricky territories toward Tahoma!
And nothing. That was extremely disappointing.
”Can you stop yelling, it’s hurting my ears.”
For a split second Gabby felt herself just standing there, dumbfounded. Slowly she opened her eyes and looked around as if the voice would make itself known in a visible manner. Hello? She called out in her mind.
”Hi, look down, in your hand, it’s me.” Doing as she was told, her yellow eyes glanced down and stopped when they met the soft gaze of little Cadence in her hand. The small caiman gave a little wiggle of her tail and let out a soft blow of her trumpet nose. ”There ya go! It’s just me talking to you.”
A warm smile spread across Gabby’s face as she watched her little reptile friend in her hand. I missed talking to you, she began, feeling a bit guilty that she had kind of left Cadence here all by herself for so long. When was the last time she had really visited the little caiman? Too long, much too long. After she had reached a certain age and sort of started getting out more through school and whatnot she had kinda left the little thing alone in her mind, but maybe now she could make up for that. Maybe right now was her chance to apologize and make up for all the lost time.
As if knowing exactly what she was thinking, Cadence flicked her tail and gave what sounded like a trumpeted laugh, ”It’s okay, Gabby! But maybe you should listen to your friend right now, she seems really cool!”
Oh, right. Ramona. Cadence had a point. Ignoring Ramona was pretty rude.
While the little imaginary friend creature scurried her way up to Gabby’s shoulder, the gazzlagator turned to Ramona, offering something of a sheepish smile considering she had went off and pretty much ignored the rainbow-haired girl for a while. Hopefully she wouldn’t mind. Ramona didn’t seem like the kind of person to get mad over something like that, but Gabby could never know for sure. ”Sorry about that,” she started with a faint chuff at the end of her words. ”I got a bit...distracted.” Now that was an understatement if there had ever been one. Fortunately she hadn’t missed out on too much of what her Imaginary Land guide had been talking about and was able to lock in on the comments about how here a person took the form that they were the most comfortable in. For Gabby being in her human form was okay. She could handle it just fine, but she vastly preferred her weird mammal-reptile form that she used while visiting Zootopia. It was just easier to work with. It looked incredibly weird, but the pros greatly outweighed the cons of this hybrid creature form. She had more balance, more speed, more stamina, more everything really. Her eyesight was better, her hearing was better, it was all just better. Her human form was fun when she needed to blend in with the rest of society outside of Zootopia, but it just wasn’t as natural to her. It felt nice to be back in her halfway beast out form. It just made her feel more...natural. More at ease really.
Gabby more than likely could have went on to say even more to the rainbow-haired girl that had saved her life, but she was stopped short when she noticed a fine layer of pink mist form around Ramona’s feet and begin to circle around her like some robe to cover up her form. Gabby could only watch in wide-eyed wonder as the mist began to sparkle and glimmer like gorgeous diamonds in gentle silk. Through small openings in the shroud the half beasted out girl could make out a few peculiar aspects that were starting to form. Like the elephant trunk that was colored up in a blended tone of pink and red or the fact that a rainbow colored unicorn horn could be seen through the little cracks in the mist. All of this deeply intrigued Gabby and she stood there in silence, curious to know what exactly Ramona was turning into. What sort of animal even had an elephant trunk and a unicorn horn? A unielephant? Not that she could judge any odd assorted creature. She was an alligator gazelle for crying out loud. That in and of itself was beyond weird. So yeah, she had no right to judge whatsoever.
Once the mist dissipated as if it were exposed to direct sunlight Gabby was left with the sight of whatever creature Ramona was. Right away she noticed all the fluff, how it was colored up in soft, pastel rainbow and how it seemed to curl up and wisp like tiny clouds of cotton candy. It covered most of the other girl’s torso and just poofed and poofed out like some crazy cloud that had allowed itself to get too swollen with rain. The insatiable urge to reach out and pet the unicorn-elephant-cat-thing was strong. For a moment there she almost acted out on the urge, but the keyword here was almost and she managed to reign herself in before she did something dumb, stepped out of line, and petted Ramona’s endless fluff without permission. Besides, there were other things to focus on like the fluffy creature’s legs that were also hooves, or her paw hands, or the dorsal fin, or even that cute little tail that poofed out behind Ramona like some sort of cotton candy stick. It was adorable. Ramona was adorable even if she was a weird mix-match of creatures near and far. And from what all Gabby could see at least Ramona was still made out of nothing but mammals. So yeah, she was still the weird one here. At least Ramona didn’t have to go through some crisis on whether or not she was classified as a mammal, reptile, or both.
When she heard the Imaginary Land guide speak up about her appearance, Gabby couldn’t help but shake her head and give a faint laugh. ”It’s very nice fluff.” It really was. Gabby herself didn’t have any fluff - the gazelle hair she did have was short and close to her body while an alligator just simply didn’t have any fur - but she did sometimes wonder what it would be like to be a creature of fluff. She had seen plenty of fluffed out animals back in Zootopia. Lions had their manes, wolves had a natural poof to them that made them look bigger than they were, rabbits had a good amount of fluff… Gazelles didn’t. Alligators for sure didn’t either. Which kinda sucked sometimes since she was sure if she had fluff then she would definitely be able to tolerate colder weather like a champ instead of becoming a shivering mess the moment the temperature went below 75. Point being was that sometimes she did wish she had her own amount of fluff, Ramona had an amazing amount of fluff, and if the temperature here wasn’t so perfect Gabby herself might have imagined her up some fluff of her own.
All talk and thought of fluff aside, it was time to officially introduce little Cadence to Ramona.
Wriggling back down from Gabby’s shoulder and back into her hand, the little caiman let out a happy little note from her trumpet nose as her attention turned to Ramona. She opened and closed her mouth a few times, little teeth clinking together in unison which sounded musical in its own way, another little tune that this creature could create beyond the trumpet. ”Hi, Ramona!” Cadence must have picked up on the rainbow girl’s name from Gabby’s mind. Nothing unusual or out of the ordinary really. She was also opening her channel of telepathy - if that’s what it was even called when it came to Imaginary Land and imaginary friends - to both Gabby and Ramona so the both of them could hear what she had to say. ”I stay here and watch over the tree from my little box. It’s very warm in there, and a lot bigger than it looks on the outside. I’ve been here for a long time,” she added in a voice that made her sound rather proud about it all, but for Gabby her little friend’s pride wasn’t registered all that well since that guilt from earlier was washing back up inside her chest and making her feel like she had done something wrong. Which she had.
Hooves shuffling in the ground, Gabby shot a quick glance toward Ramona before looking away, finding it hard to look right at the cotton candy fluff. ”I, uh… I sort of forgot about her for a while there.” ‘A while there’ being some number of years. Cadence didn’t seem bitter about it or annoyed in the slightest, but Gabby still felt bad about it all. Cadence had been her buddy for so long, how could she have just forgotten about the creature as easily as she had? ”But I’ll try and make it up to her. How about it?” She directed the question toward the caiman who still didn’t seem to be anything but friendly and chippier.
”I’ve had fun in my box, but I would love to hang out with you again!” The little thing ‘spoke’ happily.
Gabby had to admit that she felt relieved at that. Cadence wasn’t mad at her. But the guilt was still there, even if by now it had faded into a little pinch in the back of her chest.
Attention going back to Ramona, Cadence began to give a little hum of happiness. She was swaying a bit on her feet as if in a sort of dance trance, and her humming only grew louder and intensified when the odd conglomeration of animals and candy that was Ramona stuck her paw-hand out and began to pet Cadence on the stomach. A little trill of excitement came from her and she lay down onto her side to allow more access for Ramona to scratch. ”This feels wonderful, Ramona! Belly rubs are my favorite!” A happy note slipped from her trumpet nose as she lay there soaking in the pets and attention. The sight of Cadence being so happy brought a smile to Gabby’s face and eventually she felt that guilt from the back of her chest fade away and finally leave her feeling completely at ease with nothing to worry or bother her. It was a nice feeling, not having to worry about something no matter how small it was. She was snapped out of these thoughts when Cadence’s voice entered her mind once more. ”Can we keep Ramona? I like her!”
This got a laugh out of the gazellagator. Keeping Ramona around forever would be kinda cool, keeping her as a really amazing friend, but Gabby was sure Ramona wouldn’t like that idea. The cotton candy rainbow unicorn had other things she needed to tend to that were a lot more important than staying with an alligator-gazelle and her odd little caiman. ”We can’t keep her. She’s got other things she needs to do and other people to be with, but I’m sure she can stay with us for a little while longer.” Even though it was a statement directed toward her imaginary friend, Gabby’s gaze did glance over to Ramona as if also addressing her with a silent question of “You’re okay with staying around a bit longer?”.
Now that the Cadence hype was done and over with - could it really actually end, though? Cadence was something to be hyped about for the rest of forever - Gabby perked her ears up when Ramona went back to the whole beast out thing and then to answer another question that Gabby had had earlier.
For a brief moment there she had forgotten all about her earlier panic of this being her brain. After staying here for so long she was just starting to feel...more at ease, more relaxed, like this was where she should stay for as long as she could. So hearing this wasn’t her stomping around in her own brain gunk really settled the last remnants of worry that danced around in her head. She had felt pretty relaxed from before, but now she was finding herself to grow all the more relaxed and at ease. She wasn’t running around in her brain. This was good. This was okay. Gabby was starting to forget why exactly she was worried about causing herself any brain damage or why she had even thought she was running around in her brain, but that was okay. It was nice to have that reassurance even if she wasn’t exactly sure where she had gotten it from.
But all of these thoughts were no longer important the moment Ramona started to float. Did this mean Gabby herself could float? Okay, she totally wanted to float, but how did she do it? Did she just think about it and then eventually her feet would come off the ground and there she would be, levitating in the air like a balloon? Surely that’s how it worked. There was no other way it could work, but before she could attempt that whole levitating thing, Ramona mentioned something that completely and totally took over every inch of Gabby’s mind because it was just that important.
A song. A song. This was perfect. This was amazing. This was good. As the spawn of two musical parents it was literally in her blood to sing and dance and get excited about these sorts of things. It would be a sin for her to feel nothing but excitement over the prospect of a song even if she wasn’t the one singing it. Who knows, maybe Ramona would give Gabby the chance to come in and sing along; she would love that if that were the case. But even if there wasn’t an opportunity to add in her own musical talent at least she would have more than enough fun with watching and listening to whatever Ramona was about to come up with.
Gabby’s excitement only grew when she watched all the various instruments appear from the air around them, all of them gleaming in various shades of the rainbow. The gazzelagator couldn’t help but give a happy little kick with her legs, excitement buzzing through her like flies on unsupervised food. Beyond just singing and dancing Gabby had a passion for instruments as well. She was most comfortable and the most “fluent” with the trumpet, her dad having taught her how to play from a young age. From there her passion had grown and she had found other instruments to dabble with from the saxophone to the triangle. Her favorite would always be the trumpet, and her favorite category of instrument would always be the brass type. She wasn’t sure what it was about those instruments, but to her they just had a confident energy about them, like they were in charge and wanted to make that known. Outside the brass family she had to admit that her favorite was something as simple as the flute or clarinet, probably more so the clarinet than anything. She had always found it to be calming to play even if her heart would always belong to the trumpet.
Before the song could even start Gabby was staring around at everything with an awestruck gaze. ”Ramona, this is amazing,” she breathed in a voice that matched the complete and utter amazement that was running through her body like shocks of electricity. ‘Amazing’ wasn’t even the right word that could describe this whole set up, but it was the only thing even close to what Gabby thought of it all.
By the time Ramona actually started singing Gabby was quite literally shaking with excitement. This was what she lived for, what she loved. Kids could deviate from what their parents did and go about their life in a way that best suited them, like a cowfolk family producing a kid that just wanted to be a skater despite how weird that was, but Gabby had stayed in line with what her parents did. She loved the whole idea of singing and dancing and playing instruments and performing. She did have her side interests though that didn’t quite fit in with that of her parents’. Like fashion and designing clothes. Not to say that her parents had a terrible sense of fashion or anything, they just had never really been into that yet here Gabby was, into that sort of thing alongside everything else.
But back to her excitement. She could ramble on about fashion at a later time.
Shifting her gazelle ears to stand straight up and point right at Ramona, Gabby listened to the song that the rainbow girl was singing. She did have to stop and briefly wonder if this was a song Ramona already had or if she was coming up with it on the spot. If it that were the case then Gabby’s respect for her was only growing stronger. Songwriting was hard when there was ample time to think about it all. Coming up with a full fledged song on the spot was a miraculous feat and anybody who could do it deserved the utmost respect. Gabby could say that with absolute confidence. She wasn’t a professional songwriter or anything close to the sorts, but she would be lying if she said she had never sat down and tried to write a song here and there just for the heck of it. Little Gabby had always tried to write songs for her mother in hopes that Gazelle would actually use those lyrics and turn them into a song that would get popular and she’d sing at every one of her concerts. But it turns out that songs written by a five year old about how orange juice was really good and that she was sorry for biting the dentist’s finger that one time she had went in for a cleaning were not the kinds of songs that people would pay to go listen to live. At least her mother had compromised and used those songs to sing to Gabby before bed. That had been nice. And in the long run a lot less embarrassing than Gazelle going out and singing those in front of thousands of people. Now that she was older she still attempted to song write every so often, but usually nothing turned out and she ended up scrapping anything she had away. She had a few potential lyrics that she had turned into simple poetry for a few English classes before, but that was about as far as her songwriting had ever gotten. So seeing Ramona just go for it right here and there really inspired Gabby and made her admire the unicorn-elephant-cat-dolphin-cotton candy-thing girl all the more. Due to all of this Ramona was certainly on Gabby’s list of people she looked up to. Currently it was her parents and then Ramona. Yup, those were who she had in the top three currently. All very good people if she could say so.
Those thoughts aside Gabby found herself swaying to the music, getting into the groove of it now that she had figured out the tempo. She paused in her swaying the moment she noticed that there were clouds coming up from behind Ramona, legs and arms sticking out of them like a mismatched pair, yet it somehow still worked. ”Backup dancers!” Gabby exclaimed as if she had never been around any kind of backup dancer before in her life when she had quite a lot. The tiger group that danced on stage for her mom were really cool dudes and Gabby had always enjoyed hanging out with them when she could. Sometimes when she had been little and unable to watch for herself and her mom was out for an interview with her dad or something the tigers would watch her and they’d have a fun time. They had let her sneak juice whenever her parents weren’t around. Not that her parents had been against her drinking juice, but she had always had a problem of drinking too much juice which made trips to the dentist a lot more frequent. Which might have been the reason for her biting the dentist at one point. But anyway.
With each passing lyric of the song Gabby found herself getting more and more into. For a while there Cadence had been silently perched on the gazellagator’s shoulder, enjoying everything from where she sat, but now the little creature was dancing along on Gabby’s shoulder, blowing her little trumpet horn every so often. It didn’t even matter if the trumpet sound went with the music that was already in the air thanks to Ramona. Everything about this was absolutely wonderful and amazing and nothing could change that.
In that moment when it seemed like Ramona was already done with the song, Gabby stalled in her dancing, yellow eyes looking over to the rainbow girl with a gleam of disappointment. Was the song and dancing already over with? There was no way this could be over with already… It had just been getting to the good parts, too. But before her heart could sink with crushing disappointment Ramona picked the song back up and instantly Gabby got back into the spirit of it all. She gave a holler of excitement and jumped up rather high - a whole ten feet or more to be exact. Hey, gazelles could jump pretty dang high, and she probably could have gone higher what with this being her imagination and all. Who was to stop her from going beyond ten feet? She could go twenty or thirty or forty, the options were limitless. Unless Imaginary Land had a sky. Then maybe there was a limit. That was something to add to the list of “questions to ask Ramona later”.
With all the excitement that was going on around her and inside of her, a lot of what was happening now was a bit of a blur. She almost didn’t even notice the fact that some of clouds were showing off pictures that showcased what Ramona had been singing about. All that mattered to her right now was the fact that she was dancing and trying to listen to what all Ramona was singing about as well. She was doing rather well, taking in the lyrics and had even started to hum along now that she had figured out the tune. She was still going for it, all dancing and diving ever deeper into the groove of it all, when Ramona paused her singing for a much needed can can dance with the clouds. As she jumped into the air once more, twirling around in her own misty pink cloud that sparkled and glittered, she put up a hand as if punching the air all the while giving a large twirl, a wide smile forming over face as she called out, ”Yeahhhh, go Ramona! Go, go, go! Kick those leggies in the air!” When her hooves planted back on the ground after she had jumped into the air a thought crossed her mind. If Ramona had dancing partners, then Gabby also needed a partner to dance with. Cadence was a bit too small, but with this being her imaginary land and she could make anything that she wanted happen, Gabby could create her very own person to dance with.
As soon as the thought had crossed her mind out of the sparkling pink mist came a creature that could only be described as the exact opposite of what Gabby looked like. Where Gabby had gazelle legs this new friend had alligator legs. Where Gabby had alligator arms, this new creation had gazelle arms and hooves for hands. There were no ears upon its head, and the tail was that of a gazelle’s unlike Gabby’s alligator tail. It literally was the opposite of Gabby’s half beast out form, the yin to her yang and all that jazz. With a shout of happy laughter the daughter of Louis and Gazelle bounded over and stretched out her hands, taking the creature by its hooves and immediately starting to dance around in circles with it. With each spin she made the pink mist around them grew and grew. It soon engulfed them, completely covering the two as they continued to dance to the music. The sparkles in the mist grew shinier with each spin of Gabby and her dance partner, growing and growing until eventually they got so bright that they collapsed in on themselves from the intense light and disappeared into the mist forever. It was at that time when the music and song began to slow down. That disappointed feeling from earlier came back to settle inside her chest, but she shook her head and pushed the emotion back. Right now she wanted to focus on all the fun she was having with her dance partner.
Ramona was still singing when the mist around Gabby and her friend burst and rained down around them in soft droplets of pink. The mist spilled forth like silky diamonds that glinted with a pale rose hue that glinted in the soft light of the entire land. Laughter spilled from the gazzlagator as she let go of her dance partner and let herself fall back and onto the ground. It was a soft landing, and all she could do was continue to laugh and laugh and laugh, her ears catching the sounds of Cadence blowing her nose horn in her own form of high-pitched laughter.
Gabby lay there with laughter bubbling from her all the way until the song was finally and actually over. That feeling of disappointment didn’t return when Ramona officially ended her song, but Gabby was filled with too much happiness and joy about all of this to even allow such a sinking feeling to grow inside of her chest again. As she lay there on the ground she couldn’t help but find her voice and add her own little bits to the song that had just ended. Nothing that she sang was as good as what Ramona had just done, but hey, Gabby was having fun and just going for whatever her mind came up with. ”It’s all in your imagination, there’s no reason for hesitation, just dream up any little thing, see what your imagination can bring,” she sang, stealing lyrics from Ramona before actually diving into her own little version. ”Orange juice in a cup, silly string in your mouth, a three-legged lion.” None of this was supposed to make sense, she was just going with whatever first popped into her mind. She wasn’t even going to try and make anything rhyme, either. ”Two shiny pebbles, a sociopathic bug, a cloud that just needs to rain. Here in my imagination anything can happen!” Gabby couldn’t help but laugh a few times here and there as she went on to think about even more lyrics. ”Syrup on a pirate ship, semi-okay asparagus, nyoom nyooooooom!” It was at this interval of the “extended lyrics” that Cadence gave her own note with her trumpet. ”Snakes selling napkins, caramel flavored grass, a goddess and princess breaking heartssss!” After this lyric Gabby pushed herself back up to her hooves and started trotting on over to where Ramona was. ”There’s no reason for hesitation, not in my imagination,” she mused, her voice lowering at the end as she gave her own small version of the song a stopping point.
While she was now mostly out of breath, the amusement and awe in her kept her going. As she neared Ramona she couldn’t stop herself from reaching out and taking the other girl by her paws with her own scaly alligator hands. ”Ramona, that was...this is…wow,” she breathed, still not sure how to take all of this in, especially not after that amazing song and dance number that had just transpired. ”Thank you so much for showing me this, for bringing me here.” This was certainly not how the weird mix of mammal and reptile had thought her day would go. The way her day had started had also been something she hadn’t thought would happen, but it had happened. Though Imaginary Land was so, so, so much better than how her day had started. Then again, anything was better than waking up with hair that wasn’t going to listen, tripping and falling at lunch and then getting food all over her clothes, tripping when she got back to her room and breaking a bottle of her favorite perfume, and then realizing she was growing a zit right on her face. Oh yeah, anything was better than all of that.
”Really,” Gabby started once more, yellow eyes looking straight into the mix-matched purple and green gaze that belonged to her Imaginary Land guide, ”I can’t even begin to find the words to thank you for all of this. After everything that’s happened today, well, this is so much more than I ever thought.” A faint chuff of amusement passed from her tongue as she thought of something, shaking her head. ”Why don’t we hang out more often? I’m having so much fun! I mean, you must be a pretty busy person with your other friends and stuff, but whenever you have the time...I’d love to hang out with you more. If that’s okay?” Gabby quickly asked somewhat sheepishly, eyes glancing down and shoulders shrugging. Was that how she asked somebody to be her friend and suggesting that they hang out more? Gabby sure did hope so. She wanted to hang out with Ramona a lot more often after all of this, after all the fun that had happened. Even if they couldn’t always hang out in this land of imagination, Gabby was still positive that they could have just as much fun out in the real world as they had here, and she was excited about what all they could do together as official friends.
Friends. Was she being too bold with that word right there? Would Ramona even want to be friends with her? Ramona was already just so amazing that she was bound to have a good group of amazing friends already, and wouldn't want to have anything to do with Gabby after this. The rainbow-haired girl surely couldn't be hateful or spiteful or anything, but what if...what if she didn't like Gabby? Not that she could blame the other girl, Gabby didn't have much to offer in terms of friendship and fun. She could maybe offer something like her voice and dancing skills to a friendship. She liked to think that she had her mother’s talent for singing and she liked to think it was matched with a talent for dancing as well. She could also play a few instruments which had already been established earlier on, a lot earlier on than this, but that didn't mean there needed to be a crappy repeat. But back to the main topic of this all. Friends. A friendship with Ramona.
Gabby had friends already, a few here and there. Not a whole lot. She had some from Zootopia, well, she knew about them. With her parents always on the move with tours and whatnot she had never really been able to make a lot of friends back home. Not that she did a lot of moving from house to house, no, that wasn't it. But not knowing if you were going to be in Zootopia one day and in the bayou the next put a damper on any kind of deep friendship making when she had been younger. Now that she was in high school and a semi-permanent resident of Auradon City, the chance of making friendships had opened up a lot more. She now had a somewhat stable place to live in her dorm, and she had two roommates who she could potentially call her friends, but that was about it. Outside of her roommates that's pretty much all she had. Well, there was her pet caiman Jazzy, but Jazzy had been too big to bring to Auradon Prep and therefore had to stay with her parents who were taking care of her. It sucked, having to leave the good girl back home, but Gabby knew she would get to see Jazzy during breaks.
There she went again, getting off topic. Oops.
Point being, Gabby wanted to step out of her comfort zone by making a new friend, and starting with Ramona seemed like a good idea to her. Ramona seemed amazing and wonderful and kind, exactly the kind of person Gabby wanted to associate with. Plus Ramona had just made up an entire song, sang it, and even added her own little flair to it with all the dancing she did alongside her backup dancers. If that wasn't friendship material in Gabby's mind then nothing was. But before becoming official friends with Ramona the rainbow-haired girl had to also accept the idea, and unlike Gabby who was excited about the prospect, Ramona might just see otherwise. ”I’m not very good at this, so I’m not sure exactly how it works, but yeah,” she started a bit awkwardly, shrugging her slender shoulders as a soft laugh slipped from her lips, ”if you’re up for it, I’d like to be friends...or... or something. Since we both seemed to have a really good time and all.” Well, she totally ruined that and rambled a bit there, but Gabby supposed it was better than nothing, and she had to at least try something if she wanted to meet the goal she was setting for herself.

Matthias Aksel Alexson son of Melody and Alex "Elia-" Matthias started to speak, startled by his aunt's sudden appearance. None of the three already there were really expecting her to appear, but with a slight smile on his face as he waved at her, woefully unprepared as their distant cousin sort of stopped him from reaching the other mer-person.
Hanging onto Matthias shoulders, Matthias attempted to look at Dio and caught the side of a grin in his vision as Dio spoke, "Eliana, right? Uncle's little granddaughter? Pleasure to meet you, unfortunately, we are slightly busy here testing out Icarus wing, important business, right?"
Without allowing for Matthias to say they could take a pause and chat or really let anyone talk, Matthias felt himself being moved backwards. Though he supposed shoved made a little more sense giving the force of it wasn't by any type of accident, rather a good betrayal as Matthias felt himself sorta flailing in an attempt to not end up horribly broken on the ground.
It sorta worked as he attempted to catch air to let him fall a little more slowly, but no. It didn't work. He felt himself fall onto the ground and let out a groan in pain. Okay, well, might as well let them know he was alive ish. So he tried to hold up a thumbs up as Dio leaned over the roof waving at him with a cheery grin on his face. He looked to turn to the others there with what looked like a cheeky grin, but he couldn't honestly tell all that well.
And then he sorta heard Dio call out to him, "Not sure if you heard me from down there, but guess it didn't work!"

Eliana Cordelia Oldenburg daughter of ariel and eric
Seeing Matthias like this was stressful. Everything she saw just made her understand how much of a bad idea this was. Her eyes narrowed, just slightly, at the sight of Dio keeping Matthias out of reach. She didn't trust it, but she couldn't exactly let him know that. She had to play it cool.
So, Eliana smiled politely at her cousin. The smartest move was to be civil. Or, in her case, act civil. She didn't speak, knew that this boy in front of her was trying to belittle her, show her the place in the family line. To be fair, they were more powerful than she was. Plus, they were on a roof. She couldn't even feel water near her. It wasn't her place to attack them.
And then they pushed her nephew off the roof.
The scream ripped through her throat without a thought. She felt like she was watching from above, not really reacting but just watching. Matthias sailed to the ground and Eliana couldn't move, just scream. In the corner of her mind, she decided the scream was a little much. Very blood curdling.
Everything she said before? Out the window. Or, more apt to the situation, off the roof. Finally able to move when she heard Matthias land, she stepped up to Dio. Eliana tried hitting him, but with her anger, her slap didn't land. It just hit the air around Dio's face. She didn't stop to retry, instead leaning over the roof to look at her nephew.
Relief flooded through her, at least he was alive. Melody couldn't murder her if he was alive. Would her sister even care? Okay, that's unfair, of course she would care. Then Melody would blame her for the accident. "Matt!" She shouted, making sure to go as loud as she could. "Don't move, I'll get the nurse!"
She stood up, gathering the rage storming inside of her. It felt like ocean waves were crashing against her heart. She was still too worried about Matthias to do anything. She took a breath and stopped to speak to her her cousins, "If you ever touch him again, if you so much as look at him, I will end your life. You won't see it coming, your parent's won't be able to protect you. The fact that he's alive is the only reason you're still breathing. The fact that he needs help is the only reason I'm not tearing your limbs off this minute."
Turning her attention to Krissy, she gave the boy... something that should not be a smile but was one. Her teeth were on full view, and she tilted her head to the side, just slightly. "This experiment didn't work for Icarus, because the sea drowned him." She looked directly at Dio, "No sun, no sky, will protect you. I will drown you in salt water, sacrifice you to the god you call uncle." Moving back to Krissy, because she knew that he was the brain behind it all, she spoke quietly, "Compared to me, you are plankton. I will do anything to protect my family, and today has proven that you are not apart of it."
With that, she carefully walked back inside the building. Whatever the boys would have to say didn't matter, she needed to get to Matthias.

Terra June Clayton Daughter of Tarzan and Jane
Terra was more concerned about Flash than she wanted to admit. Sure, they were dating. She should be concerned about him, but these were just jellybeans, right? They shouldn’t do anything horrible to him. They shouldn’t... kill him. He wasn’t dead at least and that was good. Her first boyfriend dying on one of their jelly bean dates would be very, very bad and no boy would ever want to eat jelly beans with her again.
But that wasn’t what was important.
Focus, Terra.
She looked over at Gnia Wilde as she slipped herself under one of Flash’s arms and watched Gnia do the same on his left side. She counted down from three so that both girls lifted at the same time. That would certainly be the most efficient way of doing things.
She was slightly caught off guard by how heavy Flash was. Wow. He really must not be putting anything into standing up right now. He was going completely limp noodle on her and she was just glad to have Gnia there to help.
”Hey. Guys. Nothing to see here. Move on,” she said, waving off the crowd with her free hand. They really shouldn’t have attracted so much of a crowd, but apparently they had.
Gnia nodded in agreement with Terra. ”He needs space,” she told everyone, watching as the crowd finally dispersed to let the two girls get through. Once they were on their own, Gnia looked over at Terra. ”Nurse?” she asked.
Terra nodded. ”Nurse sounds good,” she said, listening to Flash’s repetition of her name and mutterings about... bologna Saltillo? What the heck, Flash? Well, she wasn’t going to question him, but she could only hope that her boyfriend wasn’t hallucinating or something.
Hallucinations were always bad.
Her mind flashed for a moment to Bangor. Her little brother didn’t have many friends on Auradon and kept himself hidden away down in his farm and workspace. She’d failed Bang, turning him into some hermit that nobody liked. She couldn’t fail Flash and let him die.
She looked over at Gnia. ”Ready?” she asked. The smaller girl nodded and Terra focused on the ground in front of her. Step. Step. Step. Pause. Readjust her grip on Flash. Step.
It was slow progress, but she didn’t want to let him slump to the ground and she certainly didn’t want to tumble to the ground herself and bring Gnia and Flash with her. That certainly wouldn’t help whatever was wrong with her boyfriend. She shook her head and continued the slow procession towards the Auradon nurse.
As she walked, a hundred things that could be wrong went through her head. None of them good. She wanted to talk to Gnia to distract herself, but instead focused on Flash. She couldn’t stop the worry that was swimming through her mind.
The walk took too long, but they finally hit the nurse and Terra almost collapsed in relief as she and Gnia set Flash in a bed. Gnia rushed off to find the nurse and Terra sat on the edge of Flash’s bed for a moment before she couldn’t handle sitting still anymore. She got to her feet and began pacing back and forth. ”Flash?”she asked, turning to see how he was doing.

Adonis Rainier Poole Son of Abigail Chase and Riley Poole
Adonis had gotten all the warnings about weird strangers in robes hiding in dark corners. They were the places you wanted to avoid when you could. All they did was offer drugs or weapons or other unwholesome things that could result in death... or worse. Surprisingly, the teenager didn’t see anything sketchy about where he was right now. After all, he was just a completely human boy in a robe in a dark corner of school whispering to some random teenager. Yeah, nothing sketchy about that. Plus, he was fully human. Adonis didn’t think he could be sketchy if he wanted to. Not when half the kids were animals or personified objects. Especially not when the royal family was half human and half.... he wasn’t even sure what King Beast was. Some kind of monster.
Oh-
Ohhhhh.... maybe that’s why he was called Beast. Because he was some sort of creature. Adonis had always assumed it was just because he was a less than pleasant man that just happened to turn into some sort of creature - a Beast. Now it made sense.
Of course, this wasn’t the time for some kind of epiphany about Auradon’s king. No, not when this strange boy was staring at him and Adonis was rushing to explain his predicament. Which he had to continue with now. Clearly Mika hadn’t gotten all the important details because Adonis has neglected to share them.
”Witness this, my dear Mika, I have forsaken my mobile device back in my chambers. I speculate that it is situated in juxtaposition of my conglomeration of vestments - my polo, my trousers, and my footgear from the athletic competition that Jethro Kendall has vanquished me in,” he explained. ”So I was incapacitated to telephone my acquaintances.”
Of course, how many friends did he even have? Jethro. Dakota. Sometimes Jinx. Linus. That’s three and a half whole friends and he knew that Jethro wouldn’t get him clothes since he was the one that had put Adonis in this situation in the first place. Two and a half friends.
When Mika agreed to help him, Adonis grinned and reached out to vigorously shake the boy’s hand. ”Much obliged, good sir. If you could transfer an amount of vestments to me, I would forever be indebted to you.”
He considered how to thank the savior that would be bringing him clothes and he reached into the pocket of his robe. When his hand re-emerged, he held two things in his hand. There was a somewhat squished fun sized Snickers bar and a pack of smarties that was half open and half crumbled into a powder. ”I would like to donate some sweets to your cause,” he said, blinking innocently at the boy and having absolutely no idea how sketchy he looked.
Mika would be smart by not taking the candy.

Dakota Joy Kendall Daughter of Darwin and Juarez
Dakota wasn’t expecting anyone to join her under the tree, so there was a slight look of surprise as she turned to see who had sat beside her. Her eyes widened slightly when she saw the prince. Not because he was royalty. No, it was because of the slight crush she’d had on him when they shared a class together. Now, Jethro would claim that her crush wasn’t slight, but that was an older brother for you. She did jump however, when she first heard him speak. Even after noticing his presence, she’d still been in her little writing fog. It was only his words that brought her out of it and she quickly closed the book and set it aside. At least he hadn’t seen the poem that she’d carefully written. The one that she didn’t want anyone to see. ”Oh, uh, yeah,” she said, looking down at her journal. She gestured towards it, almost dropping her pencil as she did so. ”It was just a stupid thing, you know. I picked a topic out of a hat back in my room and then wrote a poem about it.” She felt as though she needed an explanation. Even the greatest poets didn’t usually write about school, did they?
She shook her head. ”It’s stupid anyway,” she said. Then she offered him a small smile. ”What about you? What are you up to, Bast?” she asked. At least having that small crush on him prevented her from forgetting his name. That was definitely a plus side. She just had to make sure that Jethro didn’t wander around and see the two together. He’d never let her live it down... Jinx? He could terrorize his older sister, but he’d been too distracted lately with his own crush on that Heri-Uma boy. She didn’t think her younger brother would be much of a concern.
But she tried to take her mind off of her family for the moment as she tucked her journal closer to her body, placed the pencil on top of the cover, and then shifted so that she could see Bast better. She usually wasn’t much of one for conversation, but if the young prince had seated himself beside her, she figured that talking was a better option than awkwardly sitting in silence near each other but not too near.
Surprisingly, she found herself a little more confident than she’d usually be when it came to talking to people. ”So what are you up to? Anything exciting happening in your world?” Sure, her question was worded a bit awkwardly, but Dakota would still consider it a win. She hadn’t stuttered or stared or become speechless at the idea of having a conversation with the boy.

Molly Marina Finley Daughter of Nemo and Deb
Molly hadn’t been doing much that day honestly. She was actually pretty bored. There was surprisingly little to do at Auradon. You’d think that being surrounded by the children of such great heroes or interesting characters would be fun, but she wasn’t finding herself with much to do right now.
So she was wandering. Yes. Wandering. She was wandering with her uncle at her side, Cisco’s hands in his pockets as he looked towards the ground. ”Careful not to trip,” Molly teased, nudging Cisco.
The blue haired fishboy looked alarmed for a moment before making a face towards Molly. He knew she meant no harm, but neither did he with his tongue sticking out at her. ”You don’t trip,” he muttered, nudging her back.
Of course, Molly normally didn’t trip. No, Cisco was the clumsy one of the pair. She was actually much more graceful than he was. He blamed it on his mother. Dory had no blood relation to Molly like she did to Cisco, so it was obviously all something he could blame on the Blue Tang.
”Whatever,” Molly said, nudging Cisco again. He stumbled slightly and sent her a dirty look. Again, there was no true irritation behind it.
He ran his fingers through his blue hair and looked over at her. ”Well, if you aren’t grateful for my amazing presence, I’m gonna go do my homework or find someone that appreciates Cisco Finley,” he warned her.
Molly smirked. ”See ya later, kid,” she said, throwing an arm around his shoulders and tugging him close to her side for a small hug.
Cisco returned the hug and the trotted off towards the dorms.
As Molly continued walking, something caught her eye. She stopped walking to see a boy flail into the fountain and couldn’t contain a snort of laughter as she went to check on him. ”Are you okay?” she yelled out. As she got closer, she recognized the boy as one of Beast and Belle’s kids and that just made this all funnier. Such a regal and mature prince... falling into the water.
She kneeled on the edge of the fountain and reached in to help pull him out. ”I’m Molly... and are you okay? That looked like a tough spill.”

Jubilee Faith Ardor-Funk Daughter of Joy and Fear
Jubie had a large grin on her face and her eyes sparkled as she talked about her dog. ”Energy is a good boy. He was actually owned by my mom’s friend and she just couldn’t stand him anymore for some reason, so I took him,” she explained, knowing very well that Shiv hadn’t asked for the story behind Energy. ”He’s a really good boy, but has lots of energy, so I changed his name from Derek to Energy. You should come meet him sometime,” she said, becoming more and more talkative with the larger boy as she talked to him.
Someone with dogs was instantly someone that Jubie liked. Especially when they had dogs in jackets.
She looked down at Kerry, lowering herself to be closer to the dog’s height, but high enough to not be getting in her face. She reached over to pet her, just gently at first. She knew Energy didn’t like strangers sticking their faces and hands everywhere on his body. Just like she wanted people to do with En, she was starting gently with Kerry.
She looked over at the jacket clad Iggy. ”I’m glad he’s got a jacket to keep him warm then,” she said. She hadn’t for a second thought that Shiv wouldn’t be doing what was best for his dogs, but she also knew some people that didn’t put in quite the amount of attention that he certainly did.

Kadiri Jalil Negasi Son of Kion and Jasiri
Kadiri was an athlete at heart and he always had been. While he may not have the constant energy his sister did, his energy was explosive. He could be chilling one moment and the next, his energy would be at a 100... and that was a scale of 1-100. Some people might use a 1-764 scale or a 1-5 scale. So Kadiri just wanted to clarify what scale he was using. Basically, he would go from ‘chill’ to ‘let-me-run-or-I’m-going-to-explode’ in a fraction of a second.
That’s often why he liked Kiburi. She was fun and could keep up with the high energy lion-hyena boy. Well, he was sure plenty of people could, but he never actually slowed down enough to find those people. Unless he was in one of his chill stages, but 17/20 times it was the explosive energy stages. That was a pain when he was out with an injury which... wasn’t exactly uncommon. Sure, Kadiri was extremely athletic. He was agile and fast. He was strong. He had no problem with a multitude of sports.
It was the normal daily activities that messed him up.
It was the tripping over curbs and the dropping things on his feet that he apparently couldn’t handle. In fact, this last boulder injury had been from him falling off of the monkey bars when he’d been chilling. He actually liked to make up excuses and tell people he’d been fighting off a bear to protect a small child that now called him Uncle Kad.
Unfortunately this child did not exist and he had never fought a bear. If anyone asked to meet this child, Kadiri just said that he died. From being eaten by a shark. It may be stupid, but he needed the follow up to protect his reputation. People would laugh at him if they learned that the great Kadiri Negasi had hurt himself by falling off of playground equipment. He was too old to be on a playground anyway. Fifteen was practically an adult and he told that to his older siblings any chance he got. He couldn’t even remember how many times he’d been talking to Kito about something and just blurted out or snuck it carefully into the conversation that he was just as much an adult as his brother.
The twins too. He had no problems letting him know that he was just as grown up as them, despite being the youngest of his siblings. He wasn’t going to go on that tangent again, but he did want it known that the youngest sibling had an important - maybe the most important - job in the family. He kept his older siblings on their toes. Maybe even acted as comic relief at times. He liked to think that he was pretty darn funny and just assumed that his siblings felt the same way.
”I know you can catch a basketball!” Kadiri shouted out. She could. It drove him crazy, because she had never not caught a basketball that he chucked at her face. He could go from any angle, any distance, any power behind the throw, and Kiburi would catch it. It drove him absolutely crazy, but it was how things went between the siblings. Luckily, the basketball wasn’t what he’d needed her to catch.
No it was the shoes and bottles and pen and dog. It was - most importantly - the dirty underwear.
And she didn’t catch it.
Of course, he didn’t have time to relish in his victory. He barely had time to notice it before he was on the ground, hand clamped tightly over his shoulder. He couldn’t go down like this. He couldn’t let his own dirty underwear be his downfall.
He heard her begin to growl his name, sounding less than appreciative, and normally he would’ve smirked at the frustration he’d caused his sister, but he was still on the ground. He was too focused on his own pain at the moment to enjoy the small victory that he worked for everyday - annoying his siblings. He loved them. He loved them all, but annoying them was his job and he took it extremely seriously.
He squeezed his eyes tightly shut and looked upwards for a moment, barely hearing Kiburi’s voice. He finally opened his eyes and looked over to see the concern in his gaze. ”I’m fine,” he said, his voice coming out higher than expected as he did his best to ignore the pain.
He got to his feet, still clutching his arm tightly to his chest as if afraid to let it go. ”I’m good, Kiburi,” he promised, clearly not ‘good.
”I just...” he trailed off for a moment. His eyes began to tear up and he used his good arm to wipe them quickly. Surprisingly, the athletic lion boy had a very, very low pain tolerance. As in, just stubbing his toe would have him on the ground in tears for a few minutes. He was better with bigger injuries - there his pain tolerance was about average - but it was still known (at least among his family) that he didn’t handle pain well. Sure, he tried hard to fight through it or pretend he was okay, but even now he was secretly wiping his tears again so that nobody outside of Kiburi saw him crying.
”Can you just come with me back to my dorm?” he asked. He should probably go to the nurse, but had already decided to try and take care of his shoulder on his own. He was a big boy.

Caliyah Belle Bete Daughter of Magic Carpet and Mrs. Potts
The sky was rapidly darkening outside and Cali has just put Cas to bed. She loved her family, but a baby was an exhausting addition to their household. Still, he hadn’t even been around for a year yet and Cali already knew that she wouldn’t change a thing. She’d always been happy with Bay - always. Like, she’d known they’d be married since she was old enough to understand the concept of marriage, but she loved him. Adding Cas into the mix... well, he was just one more thing to love.
It was well known by anyone that knew her that Caliyah Belle Bete knew that she wanted to care for others. She cared about Bay and Cas. She cared about her friends, offering them a place to sleep if they needed it. She brought home injured animals she found just a little too often. But hey, caring too much wasn’t a bad thing, right? Cali tried to believe it wasn’t. She often pushed her own needs aside to take care of the others.
How could that be a bad thing?
Once she was sure Cas was safely tucked away in his crib, Cali shut off the lights and slipped silently out the door. Only when she was safely away from the baby did she relax slightly, heading down to meet Bay in the kitchen. She smiled when she saw her husband.
The two had practically been engaged since birth, with their parents deciding that the two should be married. While she’d read plenty of stories of this causing resentment between the pair, Cali had never really minded. Bay was a good guy and it was no secret that she’d fallen in love with him long before they were married. She was thankful for that, of course. She wasn’t sure she’d be able to get out of this marriage if she hadn’t liked Bay and then she would be forced to marry and live with a man she couldn’t stand.
But she didn’t have to worry about that.
”Cas is finally in bed,” she told him, not talking in hushed tones like she had been earlier. She didn’t want to wake him, but she was far enough from his room that talking in a normal voice shouldn’t wake her son. ”That boy’s a handful and he hasn’t even reached a year yet,” she said with a small chuckle. Oh, his toddler years would certainly be interesting.
She looked over at Bay. ”So still up for dinner?” she asked. Even as she asked, she began pulling out what they needed to make dinner. A pot. A pan. Some pasta. Yeah, it was spaghetti night and Cali had no problem making such an easy meal on her own. ”Making it together might be a good way to relax and end the day,” she added. But cooking with Bay was always more fun.
She filled the pot with water to let it start boiling as she looked over at her husband. ”So, how was your day?” she asked curiously, just trying to get some kind of conversation going so they could enjoy the little time they got alone. Cass didn’t sleep quite as much as she had expected him to.

Bastian Charles Dorian Clair Blase Alec Bête son of queen belle and king adam bête
Bastian didn't crack a smile at her surprise. He refused to even slightly look like he was teasing her. That would just be rude, and, well, that ain't it, Beast. She hadn't been paying attention to those passersby, and even if she had been, his super power made him practically invisible. There was nothing funny about sneaking up on someone. There wasn't, okay? He wasn't going to laugh.
Okay, he laughed. Just a little bit though! Which would be a very big a lie. It was a full belly laugh. Wow, where were his manners? That was just so impolite.
He hid his disappointment when she put her book away. She was pretty good at poetry, he would've liked to see more. It was her writing, though, she was allowed to hide whatever she wanted. He didn't have any right to see what she wrote. They were barely acquaintances anymore.
"Don't ever say that." Bastian firmly stated, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Nothing you do is stupid. Come on, you wrote a poem about school and made it good. That's impressive. What's even more impressive? You created it out of nothing. You got a topic and did something great!" Pulling back into himself, he looked away. Was it the best poem ever? Not even close. It was a poem about school. He wasn't going to let someone trash their obvious talent, though. That'd be a waste.
Turning back into his usual boi-like self, he let a lazy grin fall on his face. "You know, the usual. Hiding from the fam, from the teachers, from any responsibilities." He shrugged, because it was what it was. He was never shy about what his life was like. It's not like he could be, really. Bast watched her move closer and looked down at his lap instead, doing his best not to blush.
Keeping his gaze anywhere that wasn't near her, he offhandedly started, "You know me, I never have anything going on." It was on purpose, of course. He didn't want to be known as the intelligent heir, or the athletic heir, or whatever the country wanted to pin on him and his siblings. So, instead, he was nothing. "It's easier than playing a role, after all." He used to try more, when he was a kid. Not anymore, though. It was useless, didn't accomplish anything.

Dakota Joy Kendall Daughter of Darwin and Juarez
Dakota wasn’t upset at all by Bastian laughing when he successfully caught off guard. She wasn’t sure if that’s what he was trying to do - though she doubted it - but he had still surprised her. She was used to worse than that. Jethro was a good guy at heart, but he took pleasure in messing with his siblings and friends. That’s why Dakota was used to being snuck up on and Adonis Poole was used to being naked. Okay, maybe not naked, but she’d surely seen the boy dressed in less when he was around her brother. She really shouldn’t have been that surprised by Bast joining her out of nowhere. Oh well. She’d pay more attention next time she was just sitting on campus.
Or maybe she wouldn’t write. That’s when she really got pulled into her own world and struggled to connect with the world around her. That’s when she was most vulnerable and when it was the easiest to catch her off guard. She was just glad she’d covered up the dumb love poem and began on her stupid school poem when the prince had joined her.
Once she’d gotten over her surprise, she turned all of her attention on Bastian Bete. It was nice to have company - something she didn’t get often. She didn’t push people away, but she didn’t exactly go out of her way to meet new people either. Especially when she was writing.
She looked over and gave him a small smile when she felt his hand on her shoulder. His praise was completely unexpected and her cheeks turned just the slightest bit pink. She rarely got compliments on her writing and it wasn’t because it wasn’t good. She just didn’t go around flaunting it for the world to see. She didn’t publish it or submit it to papers or even offer poem writing services when Valentine’s Day rolled around.
...
Actually that might be a good idea. Dakota mentally made a note of it. She wasn’t the most public about her writing, but if she could make a couple bucks off of it...? She’d just have to find someone to scream at and show her poems off before giving them to the customer to make sure they didn’t think it was cheesy.
Oh, right. She was having a conversation.
”Thanks,” she said, slightly unsure of what else to say in response to his compliment. Receiving compliments was always awkward, wasn’t it? ”That means a lot,” she added. She wanted him to realize she was being sincere and not just thanking him out of politeness.
She then settled back against the tree she was under and looked over as she listened to Bast. It was kind of sad to hear him, honestly. Playing a role. She didn’t envy the attention that was constantly on the many royal children. She didn’t actually interact with many of them, but there was no way they didn’t have a lot of pressure on their shoulders from a young age.
”Well, if you ever need help hiding from them, I rarely have anything going on. It actually might be nice to take a break from doing schoolwork,” she offered, bumping him with her shoulder. It was a stupid offer, but maybe it could be kinda fun. Who knew? They could sneak off campus and find something fun to do. They could hide out in her dorm and play board games. There were plenty of options.
”Only if you want, of course,” she added. She didn’t want to pressure him into doing anything with her.

Bastian Charles Dorian Clair Blase Alec Bête son of queen belle and king adam bête
He nodded at her acceptance. Had she not agreed, or fought his point, he would've pushed the issue. It was important to him, that she knew that she was good at what she was doing. He wasn't sure why, honestly. It's not like this was one of his good friends talking about how much they sucked at something. He hadn't talked to Dakota in awhile. Still, he couldn't stand to hear her say anything negative about her writings. Weird.
"Anytime," Bastian promised. He really meant it, too. He'd be her champion fighter against her own lacking self worth. They would be able to hang out more, too. That'd be cool. Maybe he'd get to see more of her poems that way. Should he mention that he wanted to read more? Or would that be too weird? He didn't want to scare her away. Deciding against it, he moved on to whatever she had said next. Oof, what had she been saying? He had been a little lost in his own world.
Something about hiding out, right? And school! He definitely heard the word school. Bast could piece out the basics of what she was saying. Probably. "Isn't that what we're doing right now?" Okay, now he was teasing her. She was making this too easy. He bumped her shoulder right back, still maintaining his grin.
"For sure though," He nodded, keeping his eyes on her. Hanging out with Dakota would be fun. She looked quiet but Bast decided he could find that inner wildness in everyone, even a shy hamster child. "I bet we could have some cool adventures." He knew places that the general populace didn't. That's what he got for being raised in the city. Honestly, he wasn't too mad about it.
He flinched, though, when he realized what he said. It could make her uncomfortable, really. He didn't want that. "Not that we have to have adventures! I'm sure you don't wanna do stupid stuff with me." He laughed lightly, turning his gaze away from her. Even if he didn't like to do things in the public eye didn't mean that he didn't do anything at all.
Sneaking into one of that toad-boy's few parties was a highlight he only told a few people about. He had only been about twelve, and the only one under fourteen there. No one noticed, though, which was fun. His own invisible vibe got him into so much trouble without ever getting caught.

Dakota Joy Kendall Daughter of Darwin and Juarez
Part of Dakota had wanted to argue his point. She knew she wasn’t some great poet, but she had gone through a phase of hating her work and constantly knocking herself down for so long that she’d eventually decided to change. It was hard, but she was making small steps in convincing herself that her work wasn’t horrible. So she’d thanked Bast for his compliment instead of fighting it and silently praised herself for the small victory.
It was nice to get the validation from someone else. She hated to think of herself as clingy or relying on people to tell her she was doing a good job, but that didn’t mean there wasn’t a warmth in her chest when he had complimented her. There had been a sense of pride in someone seeing her work and seeing genuine about his compliment.
She didn’t seem to notice how he got lost in his own little world.
Instead, she just focused on his words and couldn’t help a little chuckle as he teased her. ”I mean...” she trailed off. Did this constitute as hanging out? It hadn’t occurred to her, but now that he pointed it out she supposed she could see where he got the idea. After all, they were sitting together under a tree and sharing a conversation. She’s just seen it as two people that happened to be sitting under the same tree and making small talk... Okay, maybe they were hanging out.
She didn’t even have time to backtrack on what she’d said because he had already moved on to agreeing that they could hang out and have some adventures. Adventure. That sounded fun. Dakota didn’t do much outside of her poetry and and school. She ran sometimes, but that was more of a small stress reliever when things were getting difficult than an actual adventure. ”I’d love to have adventures,” she finally said in agreement.
Even after he promised she didn’t have to go on adventures, she smiled genuinely and looked over at him. ”I’d love to go on adventures and do stupid stuff with you, Bastian. Trust me. I don’t have enough excitement in my life as it is now,” she commented. It was a little embarrassing to admit, but it was true, as sad as it was. Her life consisted mostly of writing and school, even getting to the point where she occasionally wouldn’t leave her dorm during the weekends because she had nothing to do and no one to hang out with. She had friends, sure, but they all had closer friends that they wanted to hang out with.
”So what kinda stupid stuff did you have in mind?” she asked, her lips curling into a bit of a daring smile. She journal was completely out of her mind now as she turned her body towards Bast to face him better. This conversation was getting a whole lot more interesting.
”I mean, if you want, I don’t have anything going on right now,” she said. It was said like a statement, but it was almost an invitation. An invitation for him to suggest whatever activities he had in mind.

Flash Parr son of dash and fuli
He was fine. He was totally fine. Nothing was wrong with him, he was just floating around in a nice little space of weird thoughts and craving a bologna sandwich. … It was bologna that he was craving, right? Flash was pretty sure that’s what it was even despite the fact that he hadn’t had bologna in a while, which was a real shame since he actually did like it. Yeah, it was a so called “mystery meat” but why should that matter? Plus he was, like, half cheetah, and a cheetah lived off of meat, so if mystery meat ended up killing him then something was wrong with that equation. But back to the main topic at hand. Or would it be paw since he was half cheetah? It was back to the topic at paw, yeah, that was totally it. Heh, that was a funny. He was going to start using that for everything now. He was going to start going up to people and instead of asking if they needed a hand, ask if they needed a paw. That would get a lot of people’s attentions for sure. All he would have to do is go up to somebody and be like, “Hey, wanna paw?” and they would be so confused. Flash was already laughing at the mere image of the look on somebody’s face when he would do that. It would be sheer confusion.
Ohhhh, he could do that right now. He had Terra with him. He was being a limp noodle, but Terra was there anyway. Was somebody else there? It seemed like there was a second person there, like he could hear a totally different voice that didn’t quite belong to the daughter of Tarzan and Jane. The thought of a second person being there brought a laugh to the Parr boy, the noise slipping ungracefully off his tongue. ”Hey, hey…hey,” he started slowly, the laugh echoing along with his words. He was still as limp as could be, but at least he was able to “effectively” communicate with those around him. ”Do you...do you need a paw?” Flash drawled out, the end of his question turning a bit indecipherable as he fell into a bout of bubbling laughter right at about the time his head started to loll and move around somewhat as if he were essentially a completely dead body. Which, if anybody asked him, he totally wasn’t a corpse or anything. But that would be fun. Being a corpse would be fun. If he was dead then did that mean he could talk to other dead people? How many dead people did Auradon even have? He was sure there had to be at least two. But who were those two? Now that was the question he wasn’t sure of, but surely there had been at least two people to die in the last however many years Auradon had been around. People died all the time, there was bound to be some corpses he could chill with in the afterlife. He could probably even chill with them and have his sandwich, too. He could eat his sandwich with dead people. Man, that would be so much fun. He really needed to look into this whole chilling with dead people thing.
It wasn’t long - or was it long? Maybe this had been forever and it just didn’t feel like forever to him for some reason - before everything changed. He didn’t feel as much like a noodle as he had moments before, but he wasn’t exactly heavy, either. Was he on something? Maybe he was on something. Like a cloud, but harder than a cloud. What was harder than a cloud? Man, he had no idea but he was going to have to look that up now just so he could hold the answers in his hand - no, his paw. His paw, get it right, Flash.
Was that his name he just heard being said outside of his own head? Yeah, yeah, that’s what it sounded like. ”Do I get my sandwich now?” He asked slowly, a laugh coming from him after the words slipped off his lips. He really hoped he got that sandwich, he was really starting to crave some bologna on bread right now.

Mika Takoda son of meeko and big mama
Never once had the thought of having to help some random guy get clothes and then have him put them on ran through the raccoon-owl boy’s mind. He supposed that thought wouldn’t run through a lot of people’s minds if he was being honest, but either way this wasn’t something Mika had ever thought about. Then again most of his thoughts had been on Tierney as of late, but could you blame him? Anybody would be worried if their boyfriend had went off to some dangerous island with no way of coming back for an entire four months. Something could very well go wrong, and Mika did not like that one bit. What if ran into somebody who thought eating somebody’s face off while they were still alive was a good idea? Or what if he ran into one of those lions and they decided to chew an arm or a leg right off? Or what if...what if somebody broke his bones, pulled out the little bone pieces, and then put those bone pieces into a little maraca to shake it? He had no idea where that thought came from but it had entered his mind and it wasn’t coming out.
By now Mika could feel himself starting to grow anxious. Not because of the Adonis guy, but because of all these bad thoughts floating around in his mind like some sort of doom cloud. He wouldn’t consider himself obsessed or anything, but most of his thoughts had been about Tierney and something happening to him which in turn made the raccowl rather on edge. Like the other day when he had a mental freak out, beasted out, and then bit right into somebody’s arm. He was sure it had been one of the lions. Mustard or something. No, not Mustard. Mustafa? Yeah, Mustafa had been his name. But Mika had bit a pretty good chunk out of the guy’s arm after having beasted out in the middle of a class which then resulted in him being sent straight into detention. He had calmed down and reverted back to his human self not long after that, but detention hadn’t lasted long after they had been broken out by Montez and Toby. A good person would have stayed in detention anyway and would have finished it out to the very end, but Mika had spotted his chance and he had slid on out of there as soon as he could. He still hadn’t apologized to Mustafa about that whole fiasco, either. Maybe he should do that sometime if he remembered. The lion guy had always been pretty chill and Mika could see himself being able to apologize rather easy.
Mika was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard the now familiar voice of Adonis slipping into the air. He blinked, turning to eye the robed guy with a slight tilt of his head. Once again he was surprised at the words being used, but once again he was also able to understand them without missing a beat. Mika could admit that the big words were a bit...extra, but the point got across in the end and that was what mattered he supposed. He didn’t have his phone or he would have called somebody. Okay, okay, that made sense. Carrying around a phone without having clothes to put it in would be a bit difficult, Mika supposed, so he wasn’t judging the other guy for any of that.
He was about to head on off to the dorms so that he could find Adonis’s clothes - he should probably actually ask where his room was before he did that, actually. Yeah, that was a good idea.
Pulling himself back over to the guy after having just about left, Mika was going to ask the other guy where his room was, but he was stopped when he realized that Adonis had pulled something out of his robe’s pocket and was handing it out to him. Being part raccoon he was tempted to reach out and grab the items no matter what they were since he could tell that at least the Snickers was food, but he stopped the moment his eyes caught sight of what was very obviously something crushed up and turned into a powder. Maybe his mind shouldn’t have gone where it had right off the bat, but Mika couldn’t help it. A low hiss slipped off his tongue. ”I didn’t take you for somebody working for that stoner cat. Put whatever that is away, we don’t need to both be caught for that.” His voice was somewhat harsh, but listen, he was part raccoon and they were known to be sketchy, but he wasn’t that sketchy. Or he tried not to be.

Kiburi Negasi daughter of kion and jasiri
There were a few things that Kiburi was good at. She was good at running and jumping, good at basketball and cross country, and she was good at being an older sibling, at least most of the time. She didn’t always get along with her siblings, that was just a given, but for the most part she liked to think that she was a good sister to her two brothers. And while she didn’t have a favorite brother, she had more of a protective streak when it came to Kadiri. He was her youngest brother. There was something about that that made her protectiveness over him grow more than it had for Jaja. Don’t get her wrong, she was still extremely protective over her twin brother as well, but Kadiri was the baby, he was the small lion cub. Even though he wasn’t that much younger than Kiburi herself she still felt the need to watch over him and protect him, to make sure that he was okay. She could forget all about the whole Kadiri throwing his dirty underwear at her now that he was on the ground and very obviously in pain. It was a known fact, at least to his side of the family, that Kadiri didn’t do well with pain, but that didn’t make this something that was any less worrisome.
A low whine could be heard coming from the lion-hyena girl as she walked over to check on her brother. She cocked her head to the side, worry glinting all over her face, brows creased with pure worry. None of this looked like he was fine. The way he was down on the ground and clutching at his shoulder...this wasn’t fine. Anybody could hear the way his voice heightened in pitch as he spoke up, the pain apparent even in his words. Kiburi didn’t like this. She didn’t like this at all. What if he threw his shoulder out so bad to the point that he would have to have some sort of surgery to fix it? Being as into sports as she was, Kiburi knew all about sport related injuries that ended up needed to get surgery, and then sometimes that surgery would make it to where the athlete couldn’t play anymore. Kiburi didn’t want that for her brother. She didn’t want that at all. Another whine came from her just as she was about to get down on her knees to get at Kadiri’s level, but her brother had other plans. She watched as he got back to his feet on his own, almost reaching out to steady him but thought against it when she noticed that he could at least stand.
Kiburi felt herself beginning to fidget, but not from the need of getting rid of energy, this time it was out of worry for her brother. ”None of this seems fine… What if you really hurt yourself this time, ndugu?” She asked softly, referring to him as brother in the native language of the Pridelands. ”You need to be more careful, you could really hurt yourself.” If he hadn’t done that already. Kiburi still couldn’t push aside that worm of worry that maybe he would need to get surgery on his shoulder and then he really would be down for the count. Kadiri wouldn’t like that, Kiburi knew as much. She would be devastated if something happened to her and she was no longer able to do what she loved. The lion-hyena had been injured many times as well, some a lot worse than others - none as worse as that concussion she had gotten just last year after she had rammed her head straight into the base of Priderock, that was a long story - but beyond some minor broken bones, bruises, sprains, and cuts, she hadn’t been so far gone that she needed emergency surgery. The thought that her brother, or any of her brothers really, would need something like that worried her.
If she didn’t think Kadiri’s injury was as bad as she did, she wouldn’t mind just taking him to his room, but she was hesitant to do that right now. Kiburi stood there, nervously chewing on her bottom lip for a moment until speaking up, ”I think you should see the nurse about this, Kadiri.” As she said the words she lowered her head ever so slightly, glancing up at him with her purple eyes in a silent plead. ”What if you’ve really done something to it this time? I’ll take you back to your dorm after, but please, let me take you to the nurse.” She was prepared for him to fight her over this, but Kiburi was going to stand her ground. In pain or not, taking her brother to the nurse was something she was bound and determined to do right now.
