>> Introduction
More times than most are capable of counting, RuneClan has nearly been wiped from the face of the planet. Like the runes etched onto our cavern walls and the winds that howl through our hills, our group is an ancient one, and hence our history is carved into every inch of our day to day lives. For staying close to our past is what has helped us survive for as long as we have. Despite existing in a world which would happily have seen us destroyed into the nothing as soon as we appeared. It is due to our strict obedience to the guidelines produced so very long ago that we have been able to survive, to the point where deviance from such would be regarded as impossible. But when crimes begin to occur that make continued belief all the more difficult, some members of our clan begin looking elsewhere for the security which our ancestors were once able to provide us. Some begin to turn to something far darker, and begin to sow those same dangerous seeds throughout the clan, under the guidance of something more lethal than any threat we have faced before. With the clan divided down the middle and even the most ancient of ties now in ruins, it leaves no one quite sure of to whom they can turn and remain safe. With everyone's loyalties left in question, it will leave the clan paranoid and terrified even of their own shadows. And with nothing left sacred, exactly what lines will you cross to stay safe?
>> Rules
i.The Basics. The rules are in place for a reason on this forum and this is to keep members safe and the forums a fun place, hence, following all rules enforced by the forums is non-negotiable and the failure to do so will result in discipline depending on the severity.
ii.Our Requirements. In order to be a member of this clan, there is a standard of literacy I request that each member can achieve in order to help make this roleplay the best it can be. I expect each member to be capable of writing at least 6 lines worth of roleplay per character per post. Unfortunately, if you don't feel capable of attaining this, this may not be the clan for you as this isn't an especially high standard to reach.
iii.Activity. All of us have lives outside of the forums, and hence of course I understand if you are unable to be on every waking moment to roleplay. However, as to help with the movement of our plot and general roleplay, I ask that members wishing to join as an important role amidst the clan, i.e. medicine cat, deputy or something to do with the plot, I ask that you please try to be on at least 5 days a week. Should you need to be absent for prolonged amounts of time, please let me know and I will be understanding!
iv.Joining Us Many thanks for taking the time to have a gander at this little clan of mine, and I really hope you join us! If you wish to, though, I do have a couple of requests beforehand. Namely that on initial joining, you do so with two characters, one of each gender as to help keep ratios reasonably even, though you need not be absolutely perfect in terms of your genders. Lastly, please for every three characters that you make, please have one of them be of dark forest leanings as to aid in ratios again once our plot truly begins to take off, so it doesn't end with a fight of three against fifteen. So I know you have read my rules, please add What defines us somewhere into your form.
v.Characters. I will permit to a certain degree role players to have artistic freedom in terms of certain aspects of their characters, i.e. coats not generally found in the wild or names which cats might now know, as I enjoy unusual names in the clan and the creativity some people use when creating their characters. However, I will not permit things that would not exist in real life cats, i.e. winged cats, cats with bright blue fur or other abilities simply not found, nor names which do not pertain to the wild in some aspect, i.e. no Tableflower or Couchshadow. Effectively, please use your common sense when creating your characters, and if uncertain at all please do ask, and no Mary Sue's or Gary Stu's! LGBT+ characters are welcome.
vi.Roleplaying. Arguably the best part of being a member on the forums, all the fun and creativity we get to display when roleplaying our different characters! I love having fun, so for the most part will be reasonable in terms of what I will and wont allow, however, I do insist on a degree of realism in roleplaying. i.e. Remember the context in which your cats are living, in other words, cats get injured, ill, lose battles etc. However, feel free to create all sorts of drama as you would like, that's the fun of it so no need to ask me!
vii.Bloodlines and Relationships. Admittedly this is a rule stolen from my research looking into other existing and previous clans, so I lay no claims to it but felt it was a good idea. As to help with the development of the clan, as it is meant to have existed a reasonable length of time. Please find family members for your cats amongst the clan's existing allegiances, i.e. where your cats share familiar traits with another member's, ask if they can share a bloodline. Whilst I wont make you, I thought it might be interesting to develop that sort of dynamic. However, please don't join as members of your own family. It is preferable you do this with at least one of your characters please!
viii.Have Fun. Whilst the list of rules may be a little expansive, I am actually quite nice [at least I like to think so] and really love roleplaying! Whilst here please remember to have fun, and due to my affinity to drama if you ever have an idea regarding subplots or developing our main plotlines, please do ask. I will nine times out of ten say yes, especially if it is heart breaking in some way.

>> About RuneClan
Unusual in comparison to other clans, RuneClan came to its home in the valley many moons ago and no one is left alive from the time the group originally came here.. Our lives are centered around the Cave of Runes through which the clan first entered the valleys, and many of their traditions and beliefs stem from this sacred place. Survival in the Valley gives way to a certain number of characteristics our cats have adapted in order to best live in the difficult territory. Namely we are a hardy bunch of cats, large and muscular built for stamina and strength, with not as much importance placed on speed amidst our clan. Meaning, for the most part we are an especially intimidating looking group of cats at a glance. Our coats tend to vary in terms of colouration, due to the fact our territory is varied in terms of terrain which means that no single nor collection of colours suit our territory best. However, thick coated cats in order to survive the cold of our home and protect against the bitter winds to keep us from freezing during the harsh leafbares and leaffalls. Even Greenleaf doesn't provide a great deal of warmth for the clan. Traditions. Choosing your Rune. In their first moon as a general rule, but within the first week for the most part kits are brought to the Cave of Runes to choose their runes. Left overnight by themselves, [fortunately the cave is well protected from the weather and predators] when morning comes the section of the cave where they are found defines what rune they have chosen. Where one or more of the kits have died, or the kitten in question is found not by a wall of the cave, they are abandoned by the clan, believing this to be the kit is a bad omen, and will bring darkness to the clan. Greenleaf Feast. When the first leaves begin to fall as greenleaf fades into the cold of leaffall, the clan goes out on a huge hunt, the fruits of which are brought to the Cave of Runes, and a feast is held to say farewell to greenleaf, and pray for survival during the difficult moons of Leaffall and Leafbare. Newleaf Feast. As the last snows begin to melt, similar to the Greenleaf feast a large hunt is sent out, though not often as prosperous as the hunt during Greenleaf, its fruits are brought to the Cave of Runes where a feast is held and the Clan gives thanks for surviving the harsh moons of Leaffall and Leafbare. Warrior's Farewell. On the death of a cat accepted into the ranks of RuneClan, the body is taken to the Cave of Runes where they are prepared for burial, and those closest to the cat say their final goodbyes before taking the body away for burial. It is a very private affair, and only where the cat is a Leader, Medicine Cat or Deputy does it tend to be a large group of cats accepted into the ceremony. >> Territory
Making its home within a great valley found with a large mountainrange, it is an expansive piece of territory finding natural borders within the mountains encircling this place. Largely untouched by other cats, the predators are predominantly found in the form of foxes, badgers and the occasional passing wolf but fortunately these threats aren't especially common and more often than not keep themselves to themselves. Our prey sources are most often found in hares and rabbits of the moorland and open fields, as well as the birds of prey which are common amidst our lands. However, smaller birds, as well as mammals such as squirrels, mice and voles can be found in the small amounts of woodland which dot our territory, as well as fish from the various watering holes of our home. Cave of Runes. The tunnel system and caves through which the clan originally came to the valley, the final cavern from which the initial group of cats first came here is one marked with seemingly endless runes etched into each wall. Though each wall seems to have a specific theme. This place is also the place via which the medicine cats communicate with StarClan. Cedar Hollow. A sandy terrain surrounded by cedar trees making it a popular place to bring young apprentice's for their first battle training sessions due to the soft nature of the turf underfoot and the spacious area. End of the World. A path to the west of the territory which drops away to nothing hundreds of metres bellow, though not a commonly used path unless practising hunting in the lands within the mountains around us, it has the potential to be dangerous to the unwary. Hawthorn Thicket. Like the name suggests, this is a great thicket of hawthorn which runs across the northern side of one of the larger woodlands of the territory. It is a good place to practice climbing lower to the ground to prevent injuries amongst less sure footed cats and also a good place to hunt. Pine Brook. One of the closest water sources to camp is a brook lined with pine trees and long grass, making it a good place for cats to hunt for toads and frogs living in the foliage though most of our cats aren't big fans of getting their paws wet. Rabbit Warren. The predominant hunting spot for those who are fans of rabbits, this patch of moorland is habited by a family of rabbits reaching the dozens, though the ground underfoot isn't especially level due to the number of tunnels running beneath it, it is safe for the most part. Sunrise Lake. As the sun rises, this lake at the centre of our territory is set a glow in rich golden by the light of the rising sun due to its perfect positioning to allow the sun to peek through the nearby peaks so that this place is the first lit with light before it basks into the rest of the territory. Treacherous Paths. An especially steep cliff edge on the mountains to the southern side of the territory, it is a key path to get to the Cave of Runes as it is the quickest way to get there. However, the ground underfoot is incredibly unstable, and has caused the death of cats before who weren't wary of where they stepped and as a result fell to their deaths.
>> Camp
During the nighttime and days with especially bitter and cold weather, the cats of RuneClan can be found within their camp within a hollow similar to the Cedar Hollow but larger and with grass underfoot as opposed to sand. It is well sheltered thanks to the surrounding trees, and spacious leaving room to expand dens should the need ever arise. Leader's Den. The clan leader makes their den high up compared to most of camp, within the hollow of a larger cedar tree found to the east of camp and closest to the camp entrance. It has a low lying branch which helps one access both the den, and call meetings for the clan. Medicine Cat Den. The medicine cat and apprentice can be found most of the time within a large but fortunately abandoned fox earth found under the camp floor itself. It is made up of multiple chambers to provide a safe and spacious den for this key member of the clan. Warrior's Den. The majority of our clan make their homes within a great cavern made up of tumbled rocks which were here even before the clan made their camp within this hollow, it has long since eroded into a comfortable den for the clan's warriors which is found within a great hollow area within the gathering of rocks. Apprentice's Den. The cats who are in training to become warriors for our clan make their homes within an especially large bramble bush which is regularly picked free from its prickles and thorns to provide a comfortable den for the apprentices. The Nursery. The youngest members of our clan and their mothers can be found within the roots of a large cedar tree towards the east side of camp, its walls are reinforced with great amounts of moss and ivy to make it especially warm for the members. Elder's Den. Anyone who has chosen to retire from service for the clan make their nests within arguably the most comfortable den within the camp. It is a chamber from the fox's earth which has since had its connecting tunnel fallen in meaning it is isolated but just as safe.

>> Leader
Leveretstar. Named for the wiry nature of her frame, this young shecat is set on a slender frame with long muscular legs but lacks a tail due to an incident when she was younger which led to the limb needing amputation meaning she doesn't have the best balance at times but she tries to keep this weakness to herself where possible. This young warrior was named for the strangely long ears with which she was born, though she has since grown into this strange feature, at birth it looked similar to the ears of her namesake. Coated in a thick, mousy brown coloured coat she is striped down the spine by a line of black which is duplicated at each ankle and on the stub of her tail. Her eyes are lit with an pale greyish blue. This shecat is an unusual one, not necessarily cold but doesn't tend to fall on the more sociable end of the spectrum. Despite this she has proven herself to be a brave and confident young cat, and a fine leader. More than willing to lead the battle rather than stay on the sidelines like some might prefer their leader do, she would never allow a clanmate into a situation she herself wouldn't do first. Meaning she is a fine cat under which cats for the most part willingly follow due to her loyalty to the clan. However, she came to her role as leader as a young age, leading some to be of the opinion she isn't worthy of her role. And Leveretstar has never not voiced the fact she has no faith in StarClan. She still bares many of the scars of her father's regime, both physical and mental, though she often refuses to show just how badly it effects her. Starlit >> Deputy
Foxbite. An incredibly small and sinewy molly with the unmistakable coloring of a blue ticked tabby. Dashes of cream appear throughout her pelt creating a bit of tone difference between the blue. She has sharp green-amber eyes. While this molly is incredibly small, definitely one of the smallest in the Clan, she sure does make up for her size with her personality. She is confident, ambitious, and opinionated. While all of this she isn't the type to stray from the path of "right" and is incredibly loyal to her Clan, her leader, and her beliefs. A notable feature of this feline is her notorious battle tactics. Her suffix of "bite" was given to her for a reason, and if ever faced in battle with this small cat then it would be best advised to watch for her sharp fangs. Feathertalon
>> Medicine Cat
Willowwhisker. This tortoiseshell' she-cat's name is derived from her unusually long whiskers (as if that wasn't obvious enough). They seem too big from the petite, skinny feline, as does her lengthy tail. Similar to a willow's leaves, Willowwhisker's eyes are a pale green with hints of gold within her iris. Her personality isn't anything abnormal, as she is rather a plain cat. She goes with the flow; little bothers her. This gives her a patient quality, which is quite vital as she is the medicine cat. Though an unperturbed she-cat, Willowwhisker is also quite curious. She has always shown interest in all things medicinal, as well as the religious aspects of a clan. A great learner, she was an ideal choice for medicine cat. Her curiosity leads to intelligence for her, as she knows many things thanks to her constant digging. However, her overwhelming interest in everything often led the molly to trouble. As a kit, Willowwhisker was quite mischievous and got into nearly everything. This quality still gets her in trouble to this day in many situations. Willowwhisker is, unfortunately, a very easy liar. Sometimes she doesn't even notice how blatantly she lies, which can be a big issue. 𝓹𝓪𝓻𝓽𝓵𝔂 𝓬𝓵𝓸𝓾𝓭𝔂

>> Warriors
Batfrost. Cloaked in a coat of midnight and built rather like a brick wall, this tom is an intimidating one in just about every aspect. Large, well muscled and capable of towering over the majority of his clan even amidst a clan of mountainous cats, he isn't the type of cat most would want to meet on the battlefield given half the chance, but fortunately this tom is the reincarnation of the phrase big, friendly giant. He is pitch black fur coating his entire frame and it doesn't deviate anywhere across his frame except for when one looks to his gaze, which is lit with a pale green colour which more often than not is lit with either amusement or a degree of flirt. Good natured, kind hearted and charming his is a quick cat to make friends, though it takes a very special type of cat to like his rather unusual sense of humour and way about him. Overall he is a very difficult cat to make angry, however, once you have he is more than happy to let you know that you have misstepped and you will most likely regret it. Starlit
Blackthorn. The first thing that comes to mind when looking at Blackthorn is... Oh my God, that's a lot of fur. How does he have that much fur? Blackthorn comes from the Siberian breed, his coat extremely thick and long to protect from the cold climate of his ancestral home. He looks ten times bigger than he actually is because of all of this fur, making him look like quite the intimidating tom. His fur is a colorful mesh of a golden-brown, mocha, and white. Along his back is the golden-brown, and layered atop of it with tabby stripes is the darker mocha. These colors drag across his spine, tail, and head, and taper down his legs, but a soft cream color is present on his chest, underbelly, muzzle, and socks. He has pale yellow eyes with flecks of a darker green in them. His name derives from the singular black splash on his chest that is thin, and looks much like a thorn. Blackthorn, although he is intimidating, tries his best to appear friendly. He carries a deep, booming voice, which doesn't help his case, but in all honesty this tom doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He is jovial, and always one to crack jokes when a situation goes sour to try to lighten the mood. Although he bares many scars from his past, particularly under Lionstar's regime, he has never lost hope or loyalty in RuneClan. He and Leveretstar were den mates growing up, so the two of them developed a very close bond. For the longest time the two of them were best friends, but during their early warrior days, that friendship blossomed into a romance. He has always been supportive in her, even when she took a stand to bring down their tyrant father. Blackthorn has trouble thinking for himself, as he is a follower at heart. For being so scary, he also isn't very assertive, and often has a hard time corralling the apprentices to focus on a simple task. He has always wanted to be a father, so he was thrilled to find out that his mate was to bare his kits. Even though he doesn't act the part, Blackthorn carries a raw physical strength expected of a cat his size, and through time and hard work, has proven himself to be a very capable, and strong warrior of RuneClan. 𝘊𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘴𝘣𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘮 ꕤ
Cherryheart. Cherryheart is a heavily mottled tortoiseshell she-cat, with a slim, small build, and thick fur. She has polydactyl paws, and dark green eyes. She's blind in her left eye due to an accident around ten moons ago. Cherryheart is very free-spirited. She is adventurous and energetic, and always up for a challenge. She tends to be ambitious and competitive, often too ambitious for her own good. She is very stubborn and loud, and tends to be extremely bossy - even towards those older or more competent than her. Sparkly
Honeythorn. A slender molly with soft fur of a cream hue, Honeythorn is an attractive cat. She has the same body shape as her sister's, spindly with long, muscular limbs. She also shares the dark stripe running down her spine as well as darker stripes, though they're as dark as a light amber. Her tail is the only part of her that isn't as sleek; it forms a sort of plume nearing the base. Her appearance his the only "honey-like" thing about her - the suffix "thorn" wasn't chosen at random. Honeythorn is - best-put - an antagonistic feline. She quarrels easily and always has to be right. Evidently, this molly is quite stubborn and hardly yields to authority - especially since their leader is her littermate. Honeythorn is one of the cats who sides with the Dark Forest over her own family. Secretly, she is deeply envious of Leveretstar's success of becoming leader. She always thought she would be the one to succeed, the one to be the very best. Since that didn't happen, Honeythorn has had a festering dislike towards her sibling. This only grew worse when her mate (The Fallen) was mysteriously murdered; Honeythorn was the first to suspect her sister. Instead of lashing out at Leveretstar, the feline avoids and disregards at all costs. 𝓹𝓪𝓻𝓽𝓵𝔂 𝓬𝓵𝓸𝓾𝓭𝔂
Moonfur. Moonfur is a dark grey classic tabby tom with shorter than usual for a RuneClan cat, but still long and silky, fur. He's very large in stature, with very few scars scattering his pelt. He has dark amber eyes, and a bobbed tail. Moonfur was always very quiet, being a shy, bookish sort of cat. He's easily manipulated, and tends to simply go along with whatever anybody else says. He tends to be very traditional, and is happiest when participating in some kind of tradition. He does enjoy having conversation with others, despite being very quiet and reserved, and gives very good advice. He thinks in a philosophical manner, and as a matter of fact, is almost always thinking. Sparkly
Poppybreeze. Tall and muscled, however, she is more athletic in terms of build and lean, rather than overtly built for strength like the majority of her clanmates, however, she is deceptively strong in spite of her more lithe frame compared to her clanmates, meaning by no means should she be underestimated. Coupled with her sharp wit and degree of intelligence means that she can be a reasonable foe on the battlefield, if outmatched in terms of size. She carries the same thick coat of most of her clanmates, which is marked with a predominant colouring of black, but is splashed with colours of orange, white and pale brown, meaning she is a calico shecat. Her eyes are lit with a dark brown colour. She is a kind hearted young cat, though rather timid and shy in nature, she is a good friend to those who can breach her walls, however few can due to how quiet and worrisome she can be around cats she isn't too close to. Starlit
Tigerstorm. Tigerstorm is a dark brown tabby tom, with unusually short fur. His fur is littered with scars, and his right ear is ripped clean off. He has a white smudge on his chest, and dark blue eyes. Tigerstorm is laid-back and carefree, although he can be very protective of his friends and family. He gets emotional very easily, and holds grudges for a long period of time. He is very creative and imaginative. He isn't very ambitious, and is easily contented or impressed. Sparkly
Wolfshadow. Handsome and carrying many of the traits common amidst his clan, this young tom is muscled and good looking, this matched with his surprising degree of intelligent and astonishing charm means that he is a rather lethal combination. However, most wouldn't see this more dangerous side of this tom due to how well he is at hiding it, meaning his suffix rather fitting for this young tom. A thick coat of tabby markings is strewn across his muscled frame, it is surprisingly soft given his strong outer, it is marked with a patchwork of colour, mainly brown, white, black and mottled with paler splashes of brown at the underbelly and his thighs, meaning he is rather unusual in colour. His eyes are a bright, emerald green colour though speckled with markings of dark brown. Manipulative and sharp witted, he has a charm and silver tongue which leads most to trust him, however he has a darker part to him which very few are capable of seeing of him, however, he is opportunistic and more than willing to take his chances when provided with them. Starlit >> Apprentices
Eggpaw. A large and thick-furred ginger tabby tomcat with narrowed amber eyes. He is a towering tomcat, strong and capable in his physical abilities, yet a lot of his large size comes from the extra fluff that covers him. Bitter and spiteful are two words that easily describe this tomcat. He's not a very friendly cat, either, typically the type to snap at any given moment. He's not easy to please and one that would unsheathe his claws at the first sign of any aggression - that aggression usually starting with him. He pushes cats away, literally and figuratively. Many believe this is due to his mother's harsh treatment of her kit as she held the same beliefs as the now deceased Lionstar and pushed her son to be better and belittled him even in his kithood. This resulted in a prickly, spiteful tom that won't let anybody close to him. Feathertalon
Webpaw. Webpaw is a gray-and-white tomcat with fur that can never be groomed straight, much to his dismay. He is "prim and proper" type and his own pelt does not match his needs very well. His eyes are an eggshell blue and are rather filmy - his eyesight is rather poor. He isn't fully blind, but this will most-likely become worrisome as he gets older. Webpaw often shrugs this issue off, acting like it didn't bother him, when in reality the problem scares him. He wants to become a great and able warrior, but losing his sight would get in the way of that. He tries to be hopeful, but sometimes, it keeps him up at night. Webpaw is a dedicated tomcat and works hard at everything he does; especially during training. He is desperate to prove he can be a worthy warrior, with or without good eyesight. Even if he is diligent, Webpaw is still a dainty feline and hates getting dirty, which is altogether unavoidable. Still, he tries to stay as neat as possible and will pause anything if he does not look presentable. 𝓹𝓪𝓻𝓽𝓵𝔂 𝓬𝓵𝓸𝓾𝓭𝔂

Mantispetal. Named for her uncanny ability to camouflage into our barren land, Mantispetal carries her name with pride. This shecat is of the Somali breed her pelt carrying an auburn hue that makes it easy to blend in with the rocks and rugged terrain. The colors tapper to a darker a color down her spine to the base of her very long, feathery tail, and likewise, the colors turn to a lighter across her chest and muzzle. She has very thick, course fur, though it doesn't appear to be especially long like what is expected of a Maine coon or other breed. It's instead medium length, with the most prominent fluff being her chest. This shecat once had a very lean, and muscular build, but that was during her more adventurous days a warrior. She has now retired to the nursery to give birth, so her stomach is large with life. She has deep brown eyes and long pointed ears with tufts at the tip. Mantispetal also acts very much like the insect her name was gifted after. She is always calm, and clear, as though she practiced mediation often and has found inner peace. It takes a lot to get this shecat angry, and she is quick to forgiveness. She is patient, and lax, and for the most part always tends to keep her emotions under control. Her new found motherhood has brought nothing but joy into her life. Mantispetal has always longed to be a mother, and is determined to be the very best one. She still carries fear over the earlier regime of Lionstar, but trusts their new leader, and has faith in her clan to protect her and her kit. 𝘊𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘴𝘣𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘮 ꕤ >> Kits

>> Plotlines
Our initial descent into the valley occured more generations ago than most are capable of counting, it is unknown as to the exact cause of what drove us to the valley, and our existences since then has been an especially restless one. However, we have long been determined to maintain our homes here, and despite the multiple things which might have driven others to run for their lives, we have survived and managed to thrive as long as we have. It was about four generations ago that things went wrong. Lionstar was a cat most believed to be a kind tom, but it soon turned out he was simply working his way through the rankings until he could make his way to leader, which was when he truly began to set his plans into action. Known for the circle of cats who remained close to him, things began to change, and at first they were hardly noticeable. Simple things, like who could eat when and what jobs were left to who. Things most didn't think too much about and didn't seem so worrisome at the time, but were all too obvious when one looks at it in hindsight. But soon things began to change which were much more difficult to ignore. The weak existing amidst the clan were isolated, put aside like dirt and often banished to the elders den, by now cats were too scared of speaking out as those who at first dared to were faced with the same treatment. Only when the first litter of kittens were born, deemed weak by Lionstar that it became just how apparent how wrong the choice of leader was. That same litter went missing within a couple of days. The next few litters of the same quality weren't lost with such unsurity about where they had gone. RuneClan had found itself under a dictatorship, and by now few were brave enough to speak against it, and those who did were soon found dead too. Cats were trained for battle and perfection, and those unable to reach this standard were quick to lose their lives at the paws of their leader or one of his close circle. Life became very dangerous in RuneClan. Things would likely have stayed like this for much longer, but it was Lionstar's own blood that would be his downfall. His mate bore a litter of kits, who at first seemed to be very much like their father, save for Leveretkit, smaller than her siblings and saved only on the virtue of her mother's insistence otherwise likely would have been dead too. Under her lead and the help of her siblings, they took down their father, but not before the clan's numbers were dimished almost by half. The scars of which remain to this day. Whilst these scars aren't likely to fade anytime soon, the clan is trying to learn to thrive again. Cats can be born again without fear of death within days but no chance to grow strong. Life is good again, and has the potential for happiness again. But cats still live in the shadows of the fear they knew for so long, and there is one point of division amidst us still. Namely Leveretstar, one of few remnants of a past most would wish to forget - the daughter of Lionstar, but her lack of belief is something which drives the divisions amidst our clan ever deeper. Unhelped by the fact she is to continue his bloodline, our leader is pregnant. And in the depths of this shadow lurking over RuneClan, the darkness is etching its way ever closer. And if they can't get their grip on RuneClan this time, it isn't likely they will let it survive for that much longer. Yet when a cat is found dead at the bottom of the Treacherous Path, and evidence points to Leveretstar, cats begin to believe that the daughter is taking after her father.

>> Leveretstar RuneClan Camp, Open, @tags. Leveretstar awoke barely stifling the scream which threatened to tear from her lips. Morning brought with it the usual cold chill running through her frame and a thundering heartbeat, memories from a distant dream which had been set all too deep in reality. Closing her eyes so tight they ached, the leader chased the fear from her veins and quelled the rapidity of her breathing as best as she could. But the memories clung to her pelt like a foul smell. Her life had been peaceful for the better part of a year, the last shadows of darkness had been chased from their homes moons ago. Yet the pain and the scars that those years had brought to the clan weren't likely to fade any time soon. Will they ever? Times may have been peaceful, but for a shecat raised in war - under the belief that battle was the only thing she would ever be good for, and that if she were to die in battle it could be the greatest thing she ever did for her clan; peace was a hard concept to grasp. But she was learning, and life was as good as she had ever known. Gone was the fear and the shadows which had always clung to her home, and in its place was something hopeful. Though remnants still flickered into light every now and again. Life was prosperous for the first time in a long time. And the very swollen stomach the young leader sported was mere proof of that. Kicking up a riot within her flanks, was Leveretstar's little secret. A litter of kits, her first; a classified peace of information which so far only herself and her mate were privy too. She hated keeping the secret from the clan who looked to her for guidance and advice, but she knew it was for the best. Most of her group were still recovering from battle even moons later, she didn't have the heart to add to their fears. Not just yet. Sitting up in the soft moss of her nest, since the revelation that the leader was to bare kits the nest had become so thick with feathers it might have made a bird jealous. Not the doing of the apprentice's, but her rather protective mate who had insisted upon it. Though Leveretstar didn't complain, it helped to soften her aching bones. A cat like Leveretstar was in theory far too young to ache as much as she did, but such was merely another reminder of a life before which would likely never release its grip. Running her nose through the downy fur of her distended stomach with a quiet purr, it wouldn't be much longer before it couldn't be hidden. The kittens themselves due within half a moon, a stouter shecat than herself wouldn't have been able to hide it quite so well. But even on her skinny frame, the added weight grew more and more apparent as each day came. Even the medicine cat's were beginning to cast her questioning looks. Pulling herself from the depths of the cedar tree she called her den, the brown shecat paused for a moment. Allowing her gaze to dart across the hollow bellow her, searching for familiar faces with whom she might spend her early morning until the rest of camp roused from their nests. Indeed soon enough she would have to tell her clan. But today was not that day.
>> Batfrost RuneClan Camp, Open, @tags. From the depths of the warriors den, a piece of darkness sprouted eyes. As the massive tom cloaked in a pelt of midnight awoke from what had been his first peaceful sleep in what felt like an eternity. It seemed that of recent he had done something to frustrate the deputy, as for the past moon it had been Batfrost near constantly either leading or being a member of the dawn patrol. As a result sleep had become quite the commodity to the tom. Not that the dark furred warrior had a clue as to what he might have done to provoke the deputy, Batfrost was smart enough to not go asking for fear he would lose the right to sleep all together. Today however, either via the forgetfulness of the deputy or because he had at last gained forgiveness for whatever misstep he might have made. Batfrost hadn't woken by a call of duty at some StarClan forsaken hour, but on his own inclination and for that he was grateful. Stretching out each leg with a contented yawn parting his maw, the tom let out a content purr. Wrapping his long feathered tail around his gargantuan paws, Batfrost set about grooming his thick fur of the burrs and moss it had collated during the night, before turning for the den exit, and slipping through it. Quickly blinded by the astonishing brightness of early morning light, the tom cat blinked both the sleep and the sting from his dark gaze, and looked around camp with a degree of curiosity to his movements. Boredom sparked in his heart, and that was a problem greatly more devious than hunger would ever be for the tom, and soon he was on the look out for company before he died from boredom alone. His gaze was caught by the mousey brown pelt of his leader exiting her den, he sent her an acknowledging nod of his head in greeting, but didn't move otherwise. Knowing she likely had more important duties for the day than sharing tongues with him, and he was understanding of such. Plus, he found Leveretstar rather reserved for his tastes in companionship, yet for now it seemed no body else was yet to drag themselves from the warmth of their nests. Leaving Batfrost in the depths of his boredom and hunger. Rather the lethal combination. Deciding to at the very least belittle one of his problems, the dark furred tom approached the fresh kill pile to rather the skip to his step. It was early leaffall, but prey continued to be reasonable and appealing in its offerings. Not a union the clan would likely know for too much longer, so they might as well make the most of it whilst they could. Taking a rather plump sparrow from the fresh kill pile's offerings, he carried it away with a content twitch of his ears. Finding comfortable place in the early morning sunset, to settle, eat, and await more adventurous duties to come.
>> Poppybreeze RuneClan Camp, Open, @tags. Roused from dreams of darkness and peace by the sound of pawsteps, Poppybreeze peeled open her eyes just in time to see Batfrost fleeting from the warrior's den. Blinking tiredly, the pretty warrior was tempted to roll over and attempt to catch a few more blinks, but was all too aware that now morning had her in its grip, she wasn't likely to gain much more sleep until night fell once again. The night's sleep had been filled with its usual but strange amalgamation of darkness yet the strange and overwhelming sense of peace. Not two things the warrior had learned to connote together, but as long as her dreams were free of the clashing fangs and tearing claws they had been plagued by for so long. She was perfectly comfortable with the dreams the way they were, as long as they didn't devolve back into the terror she had known for so long. As for how much longer that would last, she didn't know. For all the pretty warrior knew, this was simply the eye of the storm before something far worse weaved its way through her barriers. But this realisation did little to help how tired she was feeling from ventures of the day before. A part of a patrol sent to the northern side of the mountain range to investigate strange pawsteps they had found on the Treacherous Paths, fearing a wolf might have returned to the territory. Fortunately they had found only stale scents and a few paths leading back out of the valley, and whilst she was pleased there was no nearby threats. It meant their efforts had been fruitless, and had left the calico drained of the majority of her energy. Lifting herself onto dragging paws, the mottled warrior cast her gaze around the warriors den to find it; for the most part, full of sleeping bodies who seemed not to have been roused by the loudness of Batfrost's exit. Jealous of their blissful state, the shecat forced herself out of the den, and out into the brightness of RuneClan's hollow. Trying to put on a cheerier expression than how she was truly feeling, knowing that if someone caught her looking so dreary, it would likely lead to conversations she wasn't especially in the mood to participate in. Nodding politely to both Batfrost and Leveretstar as she moved past the pair, for now she chose not to move for the fresh kill pile. Preferring to do her part as a warrior before she took something for herself, though at that point in time the clan had no expecting or nursing queens; worrisome in itself of course, it was the principle of the matter and she would rather wait until at least the senior warriors had their fill. Hence for now, the calico found herself a comfortable and dry spot to bathe in the golden sunlight, and groom her fur for a little while until she was called away for some duty or another.
>> Wolfshadow RuneClan Camp, Open, @tags. Unlike the majority of his clan it would seem, the massive Wolfshadow had spent his morning in a more productive manner than most. The hefty tom returned to camp with the scents of wilderness clinging to his multi-coloured fur, and his muzzle was littered with small amounts of blood staining through the white of his thick furred muzzle, but the huge tom seemed otherwise uninjured. Fortunately it would seem the blood was not his own, but that of some rather ill fortuned enemy he had happened across. Quick to find himself somewhere to sit within camp, the tom set about ridding his pelt of the evidence that his morning hadn't gone to plan. Knowing full well he would likely only be scolded for going patrolling solo in an area known to have a fox in it at the moment. But the tom was alive, and uninjured so he wouldn't need to waste the medicine cat's herbs. He knew he would have been more than capable of taking down a pesky fox by himself, and would only have been slowed by the patrol he would have been burdened with. And as a result had chosen to make the journey and fight alone, now he returned in the fruits of his victory, but with no one about to share it with and not give away his disobedience. So for now he was left to mutter to himself in frustration that he had managed to let the fox even get in a swipe or two before the muscled warrior had managed to end it all. Casting his gaze about camp, more curious than he was searching as he watched the camp slowly but surely return to life as cats pulled themselves from the depths of sleep and into the waking world. His ears twitched at the sight of movement from the leaders den, which quickly drew his gaze as he spotted the leader leaping from her perch; ill earned in the tom's opinion, and going about her day. Though the tom would never have said it aloud, he disliked the warrior, she didn't even deserve the title of leader. As to how the idiots of RuneClan had even allowed a cat lacking belief in StarClan to ascend to deputy, let alone gain their five lives, Wolfshadow would never understand. He of course, would have done a far better job. But he would never admit it. Anyone could have done a better job. Something had been strange about the way Leveretstar had been carrying herself of recent, though it wasn't something the tom was experienced enough to put his paw on quite yet. She seemed, different, and he didn't know how to describe it but overall he disliked it. Wolfshadow prided himself on being able to not small differences, he was a strategist at heart even if his bulk lead most to believe he was more brawn than he was brave. And something was definitely different about their leader. Even if he didn't have the slightest clue as to what it might have been.

(Hey! This Clan looks really cool. I'm not particularly sure about my ability to get to the line limit, I'm sure I can do it with a little effort! Sparkly Warrior Sister of Poppybreeze (If possible?) Cherryheart is lesbian. She is a supporter of Leveretstar. Sparkly Warrior Open for siblings, parents, or crush. Moonfur is a Dark Forest supporter. Sparkly Senior Warrior Open for siblings, mate, or kits. Tigerstorm is bisexual. I couldn't see any password, so I hope there isn't one, LOL.)

Feathertalon Deputy Open to anything "What defines us"Eggpaw. Feathertalon Apprentice Open to anything "What defines us"
Eggpaw is against Leveretstar with Foxbite being for her. Foxbite » Eggpaw »

Foxbite » As per usual the small molly had been up and at it much before dawn had even painted the skies with brilliant shades of red, purple, gold, and pink. Considering just how early she had opened her eyes that morning - Foxbite had been up before the first hint of birdsong in the air - she had allowed her Clan to continue their own slumbers for the time being. But instead of lazing about to wait for her Clanmates to arouse from their own dreams, Foxbite had taken a quick stroll out through the territory of RuneClan. While considerably small, the fierce warrior was just that - fierce. The blue ticked tabby had seen many battles in her life, whether between other felines or not, and she was more than capable of holding her own. She was a force to be reckoned with, a storm that could take down even the mightiest of wolves that would sometimes prowl the territory in the shadows. Okay, maybe she couldn't quite take down a wolf, but she was certainly the type to stare one down in the face and batter its brains out if she could.
After having made a quick trip throughout the territory - she had made sure to stay near the camp just in case something did happen - Foxbite could be seen slipping back into the camp with her jaws full of prey. She had managed to bring down a juvenile hare and then a cardinal on her way back to camp. The hare would feed a good amount of cats, and Foxbite was rather proud of her catch. She had always been a fighter, not much of a hunter.
It was on her way over to the fresh-kill pile that the deputy noticed something was already amiss.
Before she could even stop herself the molly felt the fur along her spine bristle. Her eyes narrowed sharply as she lay down the hare and cardinal near the fresh-kill pile where the young Eggpaw was crunching on the meat of a squirrel that had been killed the day before. He didn't even look up as the deputy approached, a low growl now forming in the back of her throat.
"What in StarClan's name are you doing? Have you hunted for your Clan yet?" Growled the deputy.
Taking his time, Eggpaw swallowed down the last morsel he had been chewing on before looking up at the deputy. He pulled himself to his full height, already towering over Foxbite even in his youth. The ginger tom flicked his tail in a dismissive manner. "Can a cat not eat something to start his day off?" He asked with the hints of a growl in his own voice.
Foxbite took a moment to draw in a deep breath of air. Getting this angry over an ignorant apprentice wasn't worth it. It wasn't worth it. She had to keep that in mind, but she wasn't about to let Eggpaw get off the hook with this. "You can eat once you've hunted for your Clan. Surely Tigerstorm has taught you this by now." It took her a moment to steady her voice and keep it firm yet not too scathing, but her eyes said it all.
A scoff came from the ginger apprentice. He rolled his eyes, looking down at the deputy before taking one of his large paws and unceremoniously batting the half-eaten squirrel away. "There. I'm done. Happy now?"
That was it. It was one thing to back talk, but the moment some cat disrespected prey - no matter what season it was - was the moment Foxbite had enough. Prey wasn't hard to come by just yet, but the chill of leafbare could be felt in the air, slowly creeping in on the RuneClan cats. Now was not the time to discard prey like some battered mossball that had been played with one too many times. "Happy? Do I look happy?" She growled, tail lashing back and forth as the fur along her spine bristled even more. "I don't want to see you leave camp today. If you're going to act like a mouse-brained kit, then you'll be treated as such. You-"
"All I was doing was grabbing a bite to eat, no need to get your fur all twisted," huffed Eggpaw. "You're going to delay my training over a squirrel?"
Foxbite gritted her teeth, the only thing stopping her from full force snapping at the larger feline. "Say one more thing and I'll suggest your entire warrior ceremony to be delayed to Leveretstar altogether. Your to stay in camp and make sure things are neat and tidy in the dens, starting with the elders' den. Don't," she growled when she noticed the tomcat opening his maw to speak. After a moment of silent staring from the two bristled felines, Eggpaw seemed to get what the deputy was saying and backed down. He lashed his tail before snorting and walking off, muttering to himself under his breath.
A huff of annoyance slipped from Foxbite's lips. "Apprentices," she grumbled. Pushing the hare and bird she had caught earlier to the fresh-kill pile, Foxbite then turned and swept her gaze around camp, counting all the cats she could see that were up and about to get an idea on who to send off on the daily morning patrols. At least that would help calm her down after her little run in with Eggpaw.
