Ravencall ~ Camp ~ With Duskstorm (Bloodrose)Ravencall nodded in agreement. "Wolfbite is still quite skilled despite his injuries," He meowed, cleaning over Duskstorm's ears and head, "I think you're correct in letting him help in the future as well. But you're also correct in needed to speak with him." The older tom sighed. He knew he wasn't getting any younger himself. He dreaded retirement and couldn't imagine being in Wolfbite's place. "There's got to be something that we can do to help him feel useful..." Ravencall murmured, shaking his head clear of the depressing thoughts ((Sorry sorry 😩😩 why is being an adult so suckish)) Duskstorm purred softly as Ravencall cleaned his ears, before sighing and turning to look at the old Tom again, who was now irritably trying to help one of the elders pull burrs out of their fur. ‘I see no reason he can’t patrol with us, still.’ He softly replied. ‘Or even help train the apprentices as a whole. Just... be there for whenever their mentors are busy. I honestly believe most of the pain he feels is not... actually there. He may still not be able to hunt or fight as well as he used to- but that doesn’t mean to say that he cant do it.’ Duskstorm paused, unsure if he was being unfair to the other, before he shook his head and returned to grooming Ravenclaw, tugging leaves and such from his chest and sides.

Bloodrose"Just a ways by the border," Echo answered simply. "Nothing special." After some walking, they were greeted with another massive redwood. The one that marked the border. "You never really see anyone here. Anything here, really. I myself like it though. The smell is nice." This particular redwood always had a peculiar... odor. Almost smelled like rot, but there were no dead or decaying bodies nearby. There was never anything left. Foxpaw didn’t agree that the smell was nice, but she wasn’t about to insult the very strange Tom beside her. She approached the redwood, slowly walking around it, her tail curling and unfurling as she went. She eventually came back around to the front, standing in front and gazing at the Tom. ‘It’s huge.’ She hummed, tipping her head back to gaze up at it. ‘Do you think the cats from the stories really had powers?’ She then curiously asked, turning slowly on the spot, before sitting down. ‘And did Eclipse get mad because Luna basically stole them from him?’ The last part was mostly her just talking to herself. She was extremely intrigued with this mystery now.

Echo tilted his head, just watching Foxpaw. When she spoke, he tsked. "Seeing is believing. I know they did." He got up, walked closer to her. He walked a circle around her, continuing "And, perhaps. After all, Luna made many promises in exchange for the power. And what did she do? She ran off like a thief in the night, and expected not up be pursued and punished like the rat she was." He didn't look too happy, but quickly collected himself before sighing. "The times were different then, I've heard. We live in a much more peaceful time, where no powers are needed by us cats. They're left for the big kids, literally and figuratively."

Foxpaw closely watched him, her expression and body language relaxed and curious- but she’d been suppressing some serious fight or flight instincts for a very long time now. There was just something not right about this cat- he kept slipping up, saying things that... didn’t make sense, and he seemed to get angry over things to do with the monster that a cat just wouldn’t get angry at. ‘I wouldn’t say we’re living in a time of peace. The clans fight still.’ She replied, keeping an eye on him. ‘What promises did she make? We’re told in the stories- or at least, the elders tell us that she promised to sacrifice a cat every moon. But you seem convinced that it’s not all about that.’ She blinked at him innocently, flicking her tail neatly over her paws. ‘You’re real smart, mister.’ She then purred, wiggling slightly. ‘You’re fun to talk to.’

Blaze ♡ Thunderheart chuckled before moving to go catch a few mice. He didn't get too much though, so he could help Linnetpaw carry his kills back. Soon, they'd collected everything and were heading back. "Again, good job. Especially that last catch." And his apprentice would only improve, two moons left until Flintstar made him a warrior. "Soon you'll not be shadowed while providing for your clan. You'll be able to be more at ease while you hunt." His voice was a little muffled from the prey. "That offer to split all of the fish will still be open too though. I'd hate for us to be unable to work together." He genuinely enjoyed spending time with Linnetpaw though, thus being comfortable enough to joke so much. Smokey Feather
Linnetpaw watched his mentor trot away to hunt on his own. The young tom focused his attention back on the river to attempt to get a few more fish to take back for the fresh-kill pile. When Thunderheart returned, he grabbed two fish with the addition of the other he caught and followed his mentor back to camp. His gaze flickering back to Thunderheart as he spoke. He nodded, although he didn't dare speak in fear of dropping his fish on the ground. However, his eyes were bright with happiness at Thunderheart's praise. He flickered his tail in acknowledge. He did enjoy hunting, it was something that he excelled at more than he did when it came to battle training. He couldn't stop the snort that escaped him as Thunderheart uttered his last comment. Linnetpaw shot his mentor an amused glance and the corner of his muzzle turned up as he withheld a burst of laughter. He really didn't want to drop his fish.

BloodroseEcho didn't comment on the question about promises, only saying "This is a paradise compared to what was before, I bet. Call it a hunch, little one." When Foxpaw complimented him, he hummed. "Wise is the term I'd prefer to use. I've had plenty of time to... discover the clans. Develop my own opinions, I suppose." He then looked down at her and purred "You still have much to learn though, but today marks that you have now a little less to learn." He flicked his tail. "Almost like the ones who find their last here. Snatched away like that the fish you munched on." Blaze ♡After getting back to camp, Thunderheart walked with Linnetpaw to set everything down. Flicking an ear, he said "Well, I think we can call it a day for now. Maybe go and find your sister to see how she did today. I saw her leave with Wolfbite earlier today. He tries to nab apprentices to teach, so she likely has some story to tell you, hm?" He looked for the other apprentice, seeing she was sitting by the apprentices den in a doze.

((Hey everyone, just a heads up- any replies from me are going to be slow and spotty for a while. I’ve finally gone full time in my job and until we get our new staff member trained up, I’m working pretty much 6 days a week every week, whilst on top of trying to do chores and keep in touch with friends and stuff. But I’ll be on as much as possible))

Smokey FeatherLinnetpaw gently sat his fish down on the fresh-kill pile. He puffed out of his chest slightly in pride, he still can't believe he was able to catch a decent amount. His blue gaze lifted away from the fish towards his mentor and he grinned, "Sounds like a plan," he meowed, his eyes gleaming and he nodded, shifting his gaze to look towards the apprentice den. "We can think of more plans to take over the clan later," he teased Thunderheart before padding away from his mentor, swishing his tail in a goodbye. The young tom bounded over towards the apprentice den and shamelessly plopped down on top of his sister, "Muddypaw!" he exclaimed with a loud purr, no regard his sleeping sister.

(Sorry for inactivity, but I have tons of time now that it's holiday break, if anyone still even wants to rp. Might just clear or remake the thread if no one does?)
Mudpaw looked happily content in her sleep, but was immediately stirred by her brother. She jumped slightly before she blinking groggily as she looked about, having been woken by her brother. The brown apprentice grumbled softly before asking "What? Did something happen?" Her amber eyes slowly woke further, and she sat up. What could be so interesting that Linnetpaw had to wake her? However, her grumpiness was just because she was woken up. It would be gone in minutes, and she'd be super curious. That was how they were with each other, usually always eager to hear about the other's day and adventures. Ooh, she'd need to tell him of her trip with Flintstar as well. As she remembered it, she immediately brightened up some more. "Did you do anything cool with Thunderheart this time?"
