Hedgehogtuft nodded gratefully at Duskwish and answered Moosecharge, "Maybe we can check out the east side of the territory? Blue Meadow could be 'teeming' with small prey, no one ever hunts there- but now with it covered in snow... maybe?" He looked thoughtful and a little more reserved than when he was speaking with Mintshadow, but still seemed some sort of curious. He began padding out of the camp, stepping over the smaller tree-root laden ground and waving his tail for them to follow. "But if anyone has a better idea, they can lead the way."
(Edit; ah I'm doing good Wildwatcher!)
Duskwish said nothing, but sent a silent wish to Starclan as they headed out that they would find prey. We sure need it. The she-cat thought with a quiet sigh, recalling the sight of the measly freshkill pile. Many times along the way to Blue Meadow Duskwish tasted the air, only to find faint stale scents.

Snowflakes dotted Hedgehogtuft's charred face like little white freckles, and he blinked them out of his milky eyes as he trekked through the blanket of snow and brushed past shrubbery with the patrol, all of them rather quiet so that the only sound they made was the crunching of their feet in the snow. As he sniffed his breath could be seen in quickly dissipating white puffs that curled around his ears as he walked through them, and the cold breeze bit his nose even under the protection of the evergreen trees. But it was very hard to pick up any scent of prey, and he paused to poke his head around a tree. "Quailtuft is probably right." Hedgehogtuft meowed very softly, advancing towards where the tree lines opened up into the meadow with the arches of a bare bush. What was a lake of violent blue bluebells when they'd first came to the territory (not to say he'd been there much during the day, he'd never had a mate or that sort of friendship, so he didn't want to come there alone and stumble across a couple lovebirds) was now a field of stark white only broken by the footprints of small animals and pockets where the snow caved in to a rabbit or rodent tunnel.

Sorry for the slow replies, my space key and N key popped off so i have to press these tiny buttons on my keyboard )) Duskwish nodded with disappointment. "We won't be able to scare them out of their holes, not in this weather." She commented softly with a flick of her ears. While her long pelt kept her body more or less warm, her head was just as chilly as a shorthairs would be. "Shall we head there quickly? It's probably the warmest it will be today." The she-cat added with defeat in her voice. She tilted her head up at the sky, her eyes narrowing slightly at the faint outline of the sun through the clouds.

Do you have a popsicle stick or something small but sturdy? Maybe try taping something like that to the button, see if that works? I don't know, I'm not a cuputer savvy person lol))
Quailtuft was full of fur, so he wasn't quite cold in this weather. Still, he sympathized, and picked up the pace as he walked with the other warriors towards the Blue Meadow. "We could always try digging into their homes." he suggested this mostly as a joke to tie into what Duskwish had said, but he didn't know how receptive theater warriors would be to humor right now. Still, he found himself funny, and chuckled a little after he said it. To be quite honest, it might work, he thought, picturing the patrol locating the homes of hibernating prey and finding warm, plump food to bring back to their clan.

Jaggedtalon widens his eyes in surprise and quickly moves to her side. "It's going to be okay." He said before licking her cheek.

"Y-Yeah," Hedgehogtuft coughed under his breath, glancing up at the others. "Here, maybe I can do a quick sweep of the field while you guys start going ahead?" He had a really silly looking and probably unwise tactic he'd used before when prey hid in their nests, and bounded as light-footed as he could out into the meadow, tossing up snow that stuck to his belly in clumps. Then a good many steps away, he awkwardly looked over his shoulders at the others with a paralyzed expression, turned around, and proceeded to crouch down and stuff his head into one of the slightly bigger tunnel entrances.
(I was writing this while you were writing Quailtuft's reply but looks like they had a similar idea LOL)

Hedgehogtuft wriggled wildly for a moment, then pulled his head out of the tunnel with a tight squeeze, shaking loose nothing but the stale smell of rabbit and a shower of dirt that had cascaded down on his face from inside the den entrance. "O-Oh...I knew that of course!" He called stiffly, trying to saunter back to the patrol like he hadn't just done that. He sniffed and cleared his throat a little, blinking earth from his eyes. "Let's head on over to the lake to see if we can at least catch some toads."
(I keep forgetting to use my roleplay profile )

Duskwish trilled with a purr of laughter at the sight of Hedgehogtuft's strange performance. "Let's hope your idea works, Quailtuft!" She exclaimed. The she-cat watched the tom crouching in the field with curiosity. "He'll just freeze his tail off sitting in the snow if nothing comes along soon." Duskwish muttered jokingly.

Mintshadow, who had remained unusually quiet, stopped as her eyes caught on something. At first her heart clenched tightly in her chest as she remembered Oriolecry. Her brother had never been the nicest tom, but he was her best friend along with Dovebreeze. She stared for a long time before her ears twitched as her concentration was broken by the other cats on the patrol. When she returned to the conversation she realized they were laughing about something. She shook her head to try and shake her brothers memory from her mind. What if he was angry with her for the advice she had given to their sister? Thoughts rained down on her like an avalanche and she suddenly wondered if she could have done something to protect him from Ajax. Would she have been able to save him? She realized she had distanced herself from the patrol, she was a few foxlengths away from them now. Her spotted pattern stood out hard against the snow and she felt very alone for the first time in a long time. She hadn't given herself a chance to really grieve over her brother and now it was showing. She heard the words the cats were saying but they weren't registering in her mind.
The she-cat closed her eyes as she attempted to calm her heart which was now pounding mercilessly against her ribcage, trying to break free as it was filled with anxiety and grief. After a few deep breaths she managed to recollect her thoughts and she opened her eyes and began scenting for prey. She doubted they would find much, and she desperately wished the snow would melt and make room for the approaching season. It was cold and everyone was hungry. The rogues ate most of the food and Mintshadow avoided eating to try and help keep the queens fed, she felt guilty everytime she took a bite of a piece of prey. Like she was stealing something from someone who deserved it more. She caught something faint, trying to pinpoint the smell she glanced at the others, wondering if they were having any luck at all with the hunt.

Duskwish noticed Mintshadow standing a little ways away from the group with a strange, sad expression. She turned her attention from Hedgehog tuft to the dappled she-cat. Of course, Duskwish wanted to ask if she was okay, but she didn't know Mintshadow very well. I'll ask later. The white warrior decided after some thought.

At that moment Gracklefur came in with his messy supply of herbs. He tossed Slenderoak a stick before he sat himself down and looked to Jaggedtalon, “Since I’m without an apprentice, you’ll have to help me.” He said as he chewed on some catnip. The tom looked like he’d just woken up! (We can skip the labor if you want.)

Hedgehogtuft glanced around the others to make eye contact with Mintshadow, tilting his head and taking a few steps in her direction to sniff the air. "Did you pick up something?" He asked softly, lifting his scrappy ears to try and listen to the air. Unusually, the she-cat seemed a little quiet and out of place, compared to how he'd always seen her from his own perspective as the socially involved and cheery butterfly. Automatically he became a little bit nervous, and felt a pang of a mix of feeling and hunger in his stomach as the cold wind breezed over his belly harshly.

(Yeah we can skip!)
Jaggedtalon stared at the small bundles of fur nuzzling his mate's belly. He found himself memorized by the small kittens and felt carefully made sure not to accidentally harm them. "Slenderoak look at them! It's our kits!"

With her eyes closed, the new Mother gave a long purr as she felt her little kits against her belly. “They’re perfect little buglets.” She chuckled, she brushed her tail against one kit. A she-kit with bright orange and spiked fur, similar to her father. Slenderoak chuckled, “She has your fur.” She purred as she felt the spiky texture.

Mintshadow's ears fell flat against her head as Hedgehogtuft approached her. She began to question whether or not she should just tell them she had a stomachache and return to her nest where she could recharge her mental stamina. She decided against that decision before she touched her nose to the tom's cheek "no." She didn't know what else to say, that she had been certain she had seen her brother from the corner of her eye? She could barely concentrate long enough to figure out what it was that she was smelling. She wondered if her brother had ever had a crush on a cat and thought of bringing them to the meadow. Of course he hadn't, he was Oriolecry! She gave herself a shake as white specks splattered against her coat. This was no time to be distracted. She tilted her head to the side as she looked at the cats around her. These were her clanmates, yet she was certain the food they would be bringing back would mostly go to the rogues. Many cats would go to sleep hungry, she was tired of the mangy cats that had stolen their home from underneath them.

Skunkkit sat on top of her mother’s back, she was trying to get a good view of Slenderoak’s kits. “When can we see them mama?” She mewed, pawing at her mother’s fur. “Are they’re eyes even open yet?”

Raincloud shook her head as she listened to her daughter "no. You can look at them but until they are stronger leave them be." She said softly, turning her head to try and look at her daughter. Batkit sat between her paws, the black kit had worn herself out and was now fast asleep, her body rising and falling with her tiny breaths.

“Oh.” She sighed before she looked out the nursery, spotting the rogues. She wondered if they even care that Slenderoak had kits. Skunkkit slid down her mother’s side and curled up against her siblings, “Mom. When we’re apprentices, will those rogues mentor us?” Her voice quivered.
