{ JAGGEDLEAP
leaving camp with Skyhawk & Ambereyes -- -` gumi Β΄- .β« πΎ & Voidastral
Jaggedleap stayed silent, as per usual, while Skyhawk and Ambereyes shared a quick conversation about her joining their party and where they would be going. He actually zoned out for a few moments and only came to when he noticed that his brother and fellow warrior were oddly quiet. Shifting his austere gaze between them, he quickly realized they were waiting for his opinion on where they should go hunting. He let out a soft hum while he thought and twitched his ears, trying to decide where they would be able to catch the most prey.
"Since prey is running so well in the Grasslands, there's bound to be more than a few cats out there, which means that the Reflecting Lake should be fairly quiet. Prey will run there to get out of the Grasslands, plus there's fish in the lake. We should go there," he said with a tone of finality.
{ GROUSESTAR
leaving camp with Hollyfrost -- -` gumi Β΄- .β« πΎ
Grousestar's face became a bit more stony when Hollyfrost mentioned holding her apprentice back from her warrior ceremony. It was odd how the smoky she-cat could seemingly read her thoughts. "I was just thinking about that, actually," she said with a hard exhale. It never pleased her to have to withhold something so important from a cat that wanted it so badly, but if Pinepaw didn't shape up, she had no other choice. "I know if that happens we'll both get an earful from Snowdapple, that fox. Hopefully Doestepwill placate her, but I'm not so sure she would be happy to see her granddaughter held back from becoming a warrior, either - especially since Pinepaw looks so much like Redfern." The loss of Redfern had been hard on the entire clan, namely Doestep and Grousestar. Doestep had lost one of her two kits and Grousestar had lost a formidable warrior, one who had been just days away from being made her deputy. The other paw dropped only a few moons later when her mate, Blacksmoke, died, leaving Pinepaw an orphan. It still tore Grousestar up. At least Hollyfrost shares my sentiments about holding Pinepaw back.
Pushing those murky thoughts out of her mind, the red leader quickly decided on whether they should split up or not. "No, let's hunt together, that way we can catch bigger prey. Who knows, maybe there's even a hawk or buzzard out there that we could bring back." It would also give her more time alone with Hollyfrost, which was just what she wanted. Hollyfrost had a calming effect on Grousestar and she loved being in her presence.
{ NIGHTRUNNER
outside of camp with Crowpaw & Poisonpaw -- Voidastral & β¨ nissabug β¨
Nightrunner chuckled to herself as she heard her kits arguing over whether or not Poisonpaw knew where she was going. Again, she thought of how good it was that they fostered a healthy relationship. Some siblings weren't that lucky. "I'm sure Poisonpaw can figure out where she's going and if she can't, you can help her, Crowpaw. I don't want you to ask me for help until you both don't know where you're going." Nightrunner was sure that this would turn out to be an interesting day.
{ SPOTTEDWING
Reflecting Lake with Aspenstrike & Dawnwatcher -- Sparrow & @velveteenwolf
Spottedwing dipped her head at Dawnwatcher in acquiescence. She wanted to let her friend have as much piece of mind before her kits came along, because after that she was sure Dawnwatcher would be living a very stressful life. Without Aspenstrike helping in the slightest, no doubt.
Spottedwing was about to say something to placate Aspenstrike when he then insulted her strength as a warrior. Immediately, the fur along her spine bristled and her tail lashed out in fury. Just because she was a small cat and barely out of her apprenticeship didn't mean that she couldn't fight - in fact, she was a great fighter. She'd had to train harder and longer than the rest of the apprentices due to her size and the result was her being one of the top warriors in her age group. She would be a formidable opponent in a battle, tiny may she be. Aspenstrike was ignorant not to see that. With a low, threatening growl, the chimera she-cat laid her ears flat and sunk lower to the ground as a display of obvious aggression. "I don't think Robinwing would share your sentiments," she hissed before stalking off into the forest. Name-dropping her mentor wasn't something Spottedwing did often at all, but in some circumstances she found it necessary to do so.
Robinwing was Grousestar's father and the oldest warrior in the clan, and probably the best, too. His presence demanded respect from everyone in the clan and any cat that defied him or showed him disrespect was a dead cat walking. Hopefully Aspenstrike is that stupid.
{ ORCHIDBLOOM
camp with Brackenfang -- Sparrow
Orchidbloom trotted into camp with a more than pleased expression shining brightly on her face. She had just gotten back form patrolling the western border of the territory and she was positively euphoric. It was beautiful weather otuside and she'd had time to run around before returning back to camp to take a nap; that was a perfect day in her mind. As she entered camp, she and the rest of her patrol parted ways and she gave everyone a nod goodbye before heading to the fresh-kill-pile. She arrived just as Brackenfang left and got the idea to share a meal with him. Picking up a lithe hare, she carried it over to where the senior warrior was and laid down a few feet away from him.
"Good afternoon, Brackenfang," she meowed before taking a bite out of the piece of prey. "I thought it'd be nice to share a meal together, I hope you don't mind." Most toms in the clan, and most she-cats, wouldn't have minded sharing a meal with Orchidbloom - she was outgoing, friendly, easy to get along with, and, most importantly, stunning. Her coat colors were quite interesting for a tabby and her eyes stood out against the red of her pelt. She definitely wasn't hard to look at, but she didn't value looks too much; the character of a cat was more important than their appearance to her.
{ DUCKWING
camp with Doestep -- Sparrow
Duckwing groaned as he stretched out - again - and slowly made his way down the ledges into the heart of the camp. He was as spry as he was in his youth, he just acted like he wasn't. It gained him sympathy from the clan and, because of it, apprentices and warriors were more likely to take care of his ticks and to bring him food when he didn't want to get up. Chortling a bit, he joined Doestep at the fresh-kill-pile and grabbed the mouse that Brackenfang had caught. He nodded to the tom, who was now joined by Orchidbloom, and said thank you.
"Shall we?" he meowed to Doestep with a nod to the exit of the camp.
{ PINEPAW
camp with Snowdapple -- Stormflood
Pinepaw grinned at Snowdapple's quiet comment and flicked her ears eagerly. She was absolutely right. Doing favors for others meant that they were indebted to her and she could call in favors of her own when she needed to. I need to start saving up favors like Snowdapple, she thought pensively. Twitching her ears again, she snapped her focus back to her beautiful aunt and smiled up at her.
"I'd love to. Where would you like to go?"
