I read some of an AU about Hawkfrost succeeding in killing Firestar, plunging the Clans into war, with Hawkstar ruling Shadow and River and Bramblestar and Onestar fighting against him. Also, Hollyleaf is actually one of the Three, which I find nice. I wish I could remember the name so I could continue reading it. Is it this One? Yes I know that I haven’t posted in foreverYes! Thank you!

Massive Red Herring for Villains AUs.
Ravenpaw was actually the one who killed injured Redtail by shoving him off a cliff while he was helping Redtail escape the battle, Ravenpaw purposefully caused. Tigerclaw see this and lies about it, to keep his apprentice safe at first. But he constantly pressuring Ravenpaw to tell the truth. However, Ravenpaw claims to Firepaw and Greypaw, that Tigerclaw did, repeating the canon of them letting him escape. Ravenpaw killed Redtail in order to frame Tigerclaw and get him exiled, as he hates his mentor's abusive training.
After his mentor's exile, Ravenpaw returns, then fulfilling the role of a mix of both Tigerstar and Scourge. (So Bloodclan is dropped, as they really come out of nowhere) Just the tweak that instead of Ravenpaw having enforced dog teeth claws, he just incredibly fast and using his small size to get the upper hand on opponents. His unique fighting style makes him extremely dangerous to fight. Which is where Brightheart comes in, with her half-blindness forcing her to think out the box, she's the only one who can march Ravenpaw in battle, with another unique fighting style of her own.
Another option, is Bluestar. It turned out Bluestar used even more shifty tactics to become a leader, actually killing Thistleclaw and maybe a few others, for the 'greater good'. And she isn't able to break out of breakdown, exiling innocent cats who were Tigerclaw's followers (Or probably Ravenpaw's in this case), eventually making Thunderclan to force her to retire, keeping her as a prisoner, where may or may not escape.
As for who Brokenstar/Shadowclan was the Red Herring was for, yeah, it was Tallstar/Windclan. Even if Shadowclan exile of the whole Windclan was still unjustified, they still had better reasons in the canon. Fireheart and Greystripe making a mistake when they allow Tallstar to carry on being the leader when they gild return Windclan home. His nearing death being apart of his motive as a villain, Tallstar desperately wants to claim at least one other Clan's whole territory before he dies, thinking it would ensure Windclan's survival and put them on top, something Windclan has never been before in the Four Clan's territory.
For New Prophecy, Mothwing would be the one loyal to Tigerstar (Or I guess Ravenpaw/Tallstar/Bluestar if we carrying on the previous AU), and if Tadpole had lived, in the been another villain. But for more ironic reasons, his extreme effects to go against his parent is what actually lands him by their side in the Dark Forest, killing too many of his parents' 'allies'.
I'll try to think more alternate villains for Power of Three, Omen of the Stars and Vison of Shadows later on.
