Chatterpaw-SparklyChatterpaw snapped to attention when Brightwing's head poked out of the warrior's den, chest puffed out and head held high. "Good morning, Brightwing." She nodded. "I'm more than ready!" She was unable to maintain the posture, leaping up to her paws in excitement, her tail swishing through the air. Brightwing seemed tired, and she felt a little bad that she had to get up so early, but it was quickly overshadowed by her eagerness. She glanced at the camp entrance, already eager to go, but knew Brightwing might want to eat before heading out, and instead looked back at her. "Where do you wanna hunt today?" She asked.

(I'm so sorry, I worked really early today and I completely conked out. ;;) Chatterpaw-SparklyChatterpaw nodded vigorously, excited at the prospect. Her fishing was really something she needed to work on, as last time they had gone, she'd fallen into the water while taking a swipe at one of the scaly little creatures. Chatterpaw bounded to the fresh-kill pile, following Brightwing's example and picking out a small bird near the bottom. She sat down, eating as quickly but politely as she could, eager to get going, and stood when she was finished, brushing away a few feathers stuck to her jaws with a firm swipe of her tongue. She darted out of camp, bounding a few fox-lengths away before sitting at the base of a large rock, waiting for Brightwing as instructed.

Warrior | Laurelfur | Camp The slender she-cat sat near the entrance to the warriors' den, drawing her rough tongue over her tabby-marked pelt to clean and tidy up her fur. Laurelfur's black-tipped tail swept to and fro behind her, not in a way of hostility but in excitement for the rest of the day and how it would play out. Her ears twitched occasionally as she took notice to her clanmates around her, though none approached her and she hadn't decided to approach anyone yet, as she was still grooming herself. Twisting around cautiously, she lapped at the base of her tail, where her fur tended to knot and spike up strangely. Afterward, she lifted her right paw, lapping at it and rubbing her face precariously, avoiding her wide eyes. She then gave her head a quick shake and stood up, holding her chin high confidently and beginning to trot forward, glancing around the camp to study those around her and what they seemed to be doing. She didn't seem to have anything to do at that exact moment, so she figured she would try to socialize a bit, or maybe go hunting alone if she got the chance. But if she was going to greet someone, she wanted to make sure that they weren't busy or in a rush.

Glaremask-leobloiseGlaremask slunk out of the warrior's den, squinting until his eyes adjusted in the morning light. He stretched, digging his claws into the ground as he did so. He sat back, grooming his messy white and black fur, then looked up and examined the camp, amber eyes still blinking a bit from the light. He could see Brightwing at the fresh-kill pile, but Chatterpaw wasn't there, probably already out of camp. Heronstar was up and about, looking down over the camp, Brindlefern was grooming herself, and Squirrelpaw was bounding around. He stood when he saw Laurelfur was up. While she still had quite a bit of energy, she knew how to maintain a calm demeanor, which was exactly what Glaremask could work with. "Good morning, Laurelfur." He mewed as he approached, though his voice was flat, and contained no form of actual joy or interest. "I was just considering going hunting. Would you like to join me?"

Warrior | Laurelfur | CampGlaremask- @nettlesThe warrior continued to gaze around through her wide eyes, her ears pricked attentively, taking note in the back of her head of where every cat was at the moment. She was just about to set off towards the first cat she saw that looked ready to have an engaging conversation, hen she heard her name being said behind her, she immediately picked out Glaremask's scent and recognized his voice. She lifted her chin and turned her head, looking over her shoulder at her clanmate. She greeted the tom with a bright expression and warm tone, "Good morning, Glaremask." She noticed the lack of emotion in the other warrior's voice, so she was careful not to come off as too cheerful as well. However, she still smiled with her eyes at the tom. At the offer to go hunting with the tom, she brightened up a bit more out of what seemed to be pure instinct, nodding vigorously, "I'd love to go hunting with you, Glaremask!" Still, her tail swept back and forth along the ground behind her.
(oof, I'm so sorry that took me so long I got so distracted for a bit, sorry!)

Brightwing ate quite a lot slower than Chatterpaw, as if she was trying to put off having to drag herself over the territory. She liked being a mentor, but she didn't like the early mornings. She'd have to tell Chatterpaw that before she woke up, the apprentice's task would be to bring fresh-kill to the nursery and elders, and check the elders for ticks. Eventually, Brightwing rose to her paws, trotting over to meet Chatterpaw just outside camp. "We'll go down to the bay and see if the tide is low enough to fish safely. If it is, we'll hunt until sunhigh, then return to camp for a short rest, and then battle training for the rest of the day. If not, then battle training for the whole day. Understood?" She instructed.

(Wooow I slept in really late. By the time I woke up it was already lunchtime. Just finished eating lol.) Glaremask-leobloise"Alright. If you haven't eaten, get something now. We can head to the woodlands, and try our luck there." He wasn't particularly hungry himself, but he wasn't sure if she was, and he was patient enough to wait while she got something to eat. He nodded in the direction of the fresh-kill pile, the padded towards the entrance, planning to wait there for her. Chatterpaw-SparklyChatterpaw could see her mentor was bit tired and stressed from being up so early, so she attempted to tone down her excited wiggling, and made sure it was clear that she was intently listening as her mentor explained her plans for the day, then gave a firm nod when she finished. Chatterpaw was better at hunting than fighting, but she relied too much on her brute strength and her mentor had told her in the past to practice her dodging and maneuvering, so she imagined they'd probably work on that if they couldn't fish, but she enjoyed hunting, even if she wasn't the best at it.

Warrior | Laurelfur | Camp Entrance Glaremask- @nettles
The she-cat's ears pricked as she listened to Glarmask speak, quickly realizing the hunger that seemed to tinge her belly. Laurelfur nodded briskly, her jet black tail tip flicking behind her once before curling in on itself. She then mewed softly, "Thank you for reminding me, I must've forgotten," her voice was toned still with a purr. Whiskers twitching with amusement, she began to turn, "Oh," she glanced over her shoulder to look at Glaremask, just about ready to spring towards the fresh kill pile and pick up a quick meal, "Woodlands sound great," She then swiftly continued to lunge closer to the fresh kill pile, immediately slowing to a stop and scanning the prey piled among each other. With one swift paw, she plucked out a small mouse from the bottom of the pile. She drew it out in front of her, picking it up between her teeth. She then shuffled to the camp entrance once again and began to rip into the prey. Not wanting to keep Glaremask waiting for her, she finished eating quickly, then stood up straight, fluffing out her pelt slightly. "Alright, shall we get going, now?"

[ I'll get them ^^ ] Squirrelpaw ; accompanied by Mosspaw .. {{ ʀᴀɪɴʟᴇᴀғ 🍁 }} {{ apprentice's den }} Squirrelpaw was not a late sleeper like some of his denmates. They were up and at them as soon as possible, no matter the time of day. Standing tall and proud in their nest, their bushy tail flipped behind them like it was a fern frond billowing in the wind. With a quick glimpse across the apprentice's den, the ginger tabby bounded out of the den like it was nothing. Sure, they may have woken up a cat or two, though they weren't worried one bit about it.
The sight of a grey and white cat perched up on a low birch branch made their dark green eyes widen in fascination. Heronstar isn't up as early as I thought he would be! they mused, thoughts swirling through Squirrelpaw's buzzing mind. They took pleasure in keeping a watchful eye on those who were early risers like themself, but the oddity of Heronstar being up late was irregular. Their focus did not stay for too long before shrugging their pudgy shoulders and wandering across camp to find something to do until they spotted Mosspaw, exiting the apprentice's den with a... branch? Blinking their round eyes in confusion, Squirrelpaw hurried after the small she-cat in attempts to catch up to her. Once they were finally on her tail -- almost quite literally -- the feline let out a loud meow, "Hey, Mosspaw! Whatcha doing with that stick?"

m o s s p a w [ apprentices den ] "EEK!" Mosspaw exclaimed as she jumped into the air. Her mottled fur ruffled and puffed out and she looked like a kit once more. The branch fell from her jaws and landed with a bounce. Some of the moss that was nestled in the branch tumbled out from the shake and shudder of its captor. When she landed, a small cloud of dust swept up. Swiftly turning around, the she-cat gave Squirrelpaw a weird look. Her face was sculpted in a mixture of a pout and glare.
"Darn it, Squirrelpaw!" she hissed in aggravation. Collecting herself, the she-cat scooted her paws closer and sat down, hanging her head. She stared at the ground, almost pouting at the fact she was scared so easily by the fellow apprentice. "I'm trying to make duties easier. If we can use this branch and weave the twigs together, then we can carry the moss out easier." she explained, looking up at them. Squirrelpaw was an interesting character and she hoped that they wouldn't tell Heronstar about her idea just yet.
"To be honest, I got the idea when I was observing the twolegs.. They seem to be able to get a lot done by using other things to help them. If we're going to survive, maybe we should adapt and learn from them!" she exclaimed, her eyes wide from the memory of warily observing the twolegs. The gleam in her eye completely changed how she looked. Going from pouting to kit-like wasn't abnormal for the she-cat. Of course, until she realized that she told her secret to another. Clan cats were supposed to stay away from twolegs.
s h a r k b i t e [ camp trails to camp ] Padding on his way to camp, Sharkbite held a plump squirrel in his jaws. His blue eyes narrowed as the fluff clung to his tongue. He hated the feeling of fur in his mouth, but he wanted to go out and catch something. The gray tabby tom wanted to avoid anything connectiong to Crescent Bay. This means the Clearspring Creek was off-limits. He didn't want wandering twolegs discovering him and taking him away from the lands he called home.
Upon entering the camp, he eyed the dens. The dip that they called camp made Sharkbite feel very comfortable. He was safe, as the twolegs that walked about the bay made him feel uneasy. It was only a matter of time before they traveled further into BayClan territory. He hoped their leader, Heronstar, had a plan by then. Flicking his ears, he listened for the sounds of his Clanmates. The rumbling noise from the apprentices den alerted him, and flickered his eyes. Mosspaw emerged, but in an odd way one would suppose. Her hind was high in the air and she tugged and pulled at what seemed to be a branch carrying stale moss. Shaking his head, the tom continued onward.
The next sound that caught his attention was the greeting mew of the medicine cat, Dolphinsplash. She was organizing herbs in the entrance of her den, probably throwing the rotting stock away out of the entrance. The sharp scent of the berries and leaves made his nose sting. He'd never get used to the smell and always avoided the she-cat, for she always smelled of those sharp, unwelcoming herbs. "Weren't medicine cats supposed to smell sweet of catnip?" he wondered. He remembered Dolphinsplash always gathering some in case they had an outbreak of sickness. He turned away, not returning the greeting and instead putting the squirrel on top of the pile, which he looked at with a grimace. "I need to see which patrols I'm on again.." the tabby tom thought to himself. [open]

. quick announcement ..
[ so, I made some changes to the subplot; I've included that Twolegs will slowly be visiting (or moving) back to Crescent Bay, but we will still keep up with the main plot which includes Heronstar's death. As for now, Blue Moon (who roleplays Shrimpjaw, the deputy) is on hiatus, so we may have to hold off for a bit. Other than that, we still have the subplot we can keep moving along with Heronstar meeting with his secret council & Dolphinsplash (the medicine cat).
Sorry if this is a little long ;o;'
TLDR; Added a subplot with Twolegs, hiatus of the deputy's roleplayer, but the main plot will still be moving. ]

Squirrelpaw ; accompanied by Mosspaw .. {{ ʀᴀɪɴʟᴇᴀғ 🍁 }} {{ apprentice's den }} Squirrelpaw felt a mrrow of laughter rise in their chest before it burst out, their bushy tail curling in amusement. It was hilarious that they had caught Mosspaw off guard and by the looks of it, she wasn't pleased. They tried to not mrrow again, but they couldn't stop. Her pout and glare made it even better in their opinion. After several moments of mrrowing in amsuement of Mosspaw's reaction, the bushy tailed feline calmed down.
"Sorry, Mosspaw. I didn't know you were that scared of me!" the ginger tabby apologized, hanging their head low as the she-cat before them had done. Despite their young age, they knew scaring the mottled apprentice wasn't a kind thing to do. Though they couldn't help it, how could they control Mosspaw's reaction? Maybe they should have said something instead of scaring her. "Ooh! Will you teach me how to do it? Pleaseee? I promise I won't scare you ever again!"
Squirrelpaw was a ball of energy. Between their squeals and pouts came bounces on their paws and twitches of their whiskers. It was comical but a tad concerning for those who watched them regularly. Blinking their dark eyes, the apprentice curled their thick tail around their white paws and sat right in front of their denmate. Maybe Mosspaw knew more about making their duties easier than they thought.
"Twolegs?! You saw them? With your own two eyes?" they gasped, jaw dropping in shock. Heronstar had told the clan on multiple occasions that they should avoid the Twolegs and make sure they were never spotted in case things were to go bad. Of course, Squirrelpaw wasn't one to obey but they never had the pleasure of coming across any Twolegs. They were quite jealous of the mottled she-cat and it showed in their gaze. Thankfully, Mosspaw was lucky enough to tell Squirrelpaw her secret. Had she told another cat, she would be in deep trouble. "Where did you see them? How did they not spot you and how in the world did you figure it out? Oh, wait! You will teach me how to carry moss with a stick, right?"

He could smell a few fresh scents from cats who had entered and exited camp in the past hour, but no particularly large groups.

Eeleyes awoke with a start from a fever dream, discovering his claws had tore up bits from his moss bed during his slumber. The warrior grunted, pulling himself to his paws clumsily, still exhausted from the night before. His eyes flickered over to where Wishleap still slept a couple fox-lengths away. Figures. He and the pretty calico had been out late that night practicing some battle moves due to the influx of twolegs appearing at Crescent Bay. Padding out of the den, he found himself blinded by the sun. Fox-dung! To his dismay, it was already past sun-high. Cursing to himself quietly, Eeleyes trudged through the camp, eyes still narrow slits as they adjusted to the bright light.

Brightwing nodded, smiling. "Okay. Follow me." She turned onto the path towards the beach, her paws half-dragging on the ground. She knew that she would cheer up in a little while, but for the present, she'd just have to try to hide her tiredness from Chatterpaw. The path was relatively smooth and straight, so Brightwing didn't have to focus on where she was stepping too much. She started to slip into thought, mainly worrying about the twolegs that were coming back to Crescent Bay. It was upsetting that the apprentices had lost their prime exploration spot, but she was more worried about whether or not the twolegs would encroach further into the forest. Hopefully not - It was almost impossible to fight against a twoleg.

m o s s p a w [ hollyclan camp ] She only looked annoyed at her fellow Clanmate, looking round to see if anyone else had caught her jumping as high as a hare. When the apprentice finally calmed down, Mosspaw looked up at them. "I'm not afraid of you! You just startled me!" she argued back. Their sudden change surprised her. "What's so hard about carrying a stick?" she wondered with a **** of her head. "I don't quite get you, Squirrelpaw..." Mosspaw thought to herself. Their interest did encourage her to continue her little tests. Maybe today would be a good day for her.
When she spilled the beans about the twolegs, her eyes widened in fear. Glancing around quickly, she tried to shush the other cat. "You can't let anyone know.. But I saw them around the bay. I know I'm a bit small to go out on my own and so far, but I got interested." she explained in a whisper, eyeing the camp over and over. "I saw a twoleg hauling something with these strong vine things, so I tried to mimic it and couldn't get it. Then I saw the branch and tried that and well, until you scared me, it worked!" she exclaimed with a raise in her voice.
Addressing the question, the she-cat opened her jaws. "I was hidden in a bush when I thought one was going to spot me, I tailed it out of there. I'm not going to get caught and be at the mercy of twolegs!" Mosspaw added, looking quite bothered by the thought. When they asked about teaching them how to do the stick trick, her eyes rolled. "You just put moss where I put it and carefully pull it with your teeth." she answered. "If you hadn't scared me, you'd have seen!"

{{in camp}}
It was after sun-high when Wishleap finally dragged herself out of the warrior's den, still sore from the training she had done with Eeleyes last night. A soft sigh escaped her mouth as she padded out into the clearing, gaze flickering over to the fresh-kill pile hungrily. Her mouth watered, a juicy vole lay on the top of the pile. Wishleap licked her lips, stomach roaring in response as she padded over, picking the vole.
The she-cat sat down several fox-lengths away from the pile, tearing into the vole hungrily, gulping it down quickly. Her gaze caught Eeleyes, and she giggled to herself at the sight of him. The tom was trudging through the camp, his eyes squinted against the sun, fur sticking up in every which way. She stared at him for a couple more moments in amusement, before glancing away.

Laurelfur drew her tongue over her whiskers and muzzle, cleaning them briefly. Flicking her ears back and quickly stretching out her limbs, she leaped forward to pad next to the tom, her paws landing softly. At Glaremask's suggestion, she nodded curtly and then responded simply, "Good idea." She was careful not to go faster than Glaremask, but she still matched him pace for pace, her tail still curling in on itself and then unfurling again to hover above the ground before repeating. She lifted her chin slightly, gazing around at the area around them. They weren't far from the camp yet, so this was scene she knew well, as she had tread on the path so many times throughout her life. "Is there a specific spot in the woodlands where you suppose we should check for prey?"

With a full stomach, Wishleap rasped her tongue over her paw, flicking it over her whiskers and ears. A single cloud that had hid the sun had drifted away now, a purr rumbling in her throat as sun hit her back, warmth engulfing her entire body. She wished she could lay there forever, basking in the warmth of the sun. She knew she should be being useful, though sunning herself for a bit wouldn't hurt. Her gaze traveled back over to Eeleyes, who now was grudgingly trudging towards the apprentice's den to wake up his apprentice, Lightpaw.
Slight envy tugged at the calico she-cat, she had longed for an apprentice, though she was hardly a warrior herself at it was.
