Lighting nodded silently and pointed with his ears toward where he saw a fluffy tail bobbing and the squirrel scoured the ground for nuts.

Maplestrike saw where Lightningsong was gesturing towards and nodded, creeping silently up the tree. She deftly climbed up the branch and inched quietly across the tree limb, eying the unsuspecting squirrel below. She gestured for the tom to get ready before dropping below. She landed with a hiss next towards the fluffy tree rat and lashed out with her claws, missing on purpose. As she had planned, the squirrel let out a panicked chatter before bolting, heading straight towards Lightningsong.

Lightingsong pounced on the squirrel as it tried to race by. He snapped its neck and looked for a good spot to bury it.

Maplestrike let out a small purr, straitening up from her crouch. "Nice job Lightningsong. The squirrel was quieter than I expected. There should be some prey around here still. " she said, scenting the air once more. The faint but fresh scent of crow hit her and she grinned, glancing up at the tree branches around them.

Lightningsong saw Maplestrike grin right before he smelled the crow. He too looked for the crow in the treetops unable to spot it.

Maplestrike stayed silent for a few mousebeats, listening to the sounds around them. A faint rustle of leaves from the breeze and a crow's call later alerted her where the crow was. "Over there. That far tree with the crooked branches. That has to be where it is." she exclaimed quietly, gesturing with her tail towards the tree.

Maplestrike hummed quietly as she started to stalk towards the tree, waiting on Lightingstrike's next gestures. The she cat was confident that they could catch the crow together and was content to let the older tom lead the way on this one.

Maplestrike let out a silent giggle and gestured for the older tom to halt for a moment. "Alright. Here's what we're going to do. I'm going to climb the tree and bat that crow down. After that, I'm going to count on you to catch it because I'll be a bit preoccupied. It'll screech so that's our one chance for more prey in this area." she explained in a quiet tone, answering his silent question.

Echopaw tussled with Nightpaw, giggling happily as she tried to wriggle away from her brother. "Let me take a breather Nightpaw. Thank you for helping me train. I'm not good at fighting." Her only response was a blunt "I can tell".
Aspenfall shifted in her nest as she watched in amusement as Flamestep was wailing dramatically that he couldn't sniff anymore. "Oh just cut it out! It isn't bleeding anymore you silly tom. And you're suppose to be older." she called out, heading out of the warrior's den before she could hear the tom whimper again.
"Not a problem. Get ready Lightningsong!" Maplestrike purred out quietly, bounding off silently as she could. She crouched down, eyeing the branches for a good spot to perch near the bird. She found the branch soon enough and climbed up deftly, balancing carefully before leaping. She landed hard on the branch near the crow and it let out a startled screech, flapping its wings wildly as it tried to escape. Maplestrike lashed out, overbalancing herself as she sent the crow crashing down towards Lightningsong before letting out her own squeak as she fell.

Lightningsong tried to jump at the crow to catch it but fell. Little did he know he fell right around the spot that Maplestrike was falling.

Echopaw let out a faint squeak, whirling around to face the new warrior. "Oh! Dewnose! Nightpaw was helping me with some of my attacks. I'm not very good at fighting you see." she explained, her tail automatically slapping against Nightpaw's mouth to muffle an irate retort. Her ears burned slightly with embarrassment, making her hide it with a faint giggle.
Maplestrike let out an oomph as she collided against something soft but sturdy and she let out a low whine, waiting for a moment for her world to stop spinning. "That.. was not the ground I fell on. What did I land on?" she groaned out, not yet glancing under her as she watched the crow fly away with warning shrieks.

The yellow and white tom looked at the pair."Well go easy on your brother,okay?We don't want to rough em up too much."He said with a purr.
(This reminds me of when my friend was playing Nightpaw and one of my toms said"Unless if we get attacked by mossballs,you won't be much help.")
