Tigerblaze adamantly shook his head before Halfrose even had the chance to finish her sentence. "Never." He meowed seriously. "You're right, I could have been deputy." He meowed. He knew it, Hollowstar knew it, and probably the whole clan knew it. Some would call him frog-brained for doing such a thing, and, in fact, many have. "And before we were close that was all I wanted." He admitted, recalling back to before him and Halfrose hardly exchanged glances. "But now I've realized that's not what I really want. Being with you, and having kits is what I really want. A family." He purred the last words, closing his eyes and imagining their kits running around, pouncing on their tails and eventually growing up to be great warriors. "A family is what I really want. And if Hollowstar is upset with that decision, well, I don't care."
Hollowstar shook her head. There were poisonous frogs everywhere in their territory, which is precisely the reason she had placed a rule to forbid apprentices from leaving camp without at least one warrior. At least, that was partly the reason. "If you can find a way to kill it without touching it, let me know." She meowed, slightly sarcastically. "I know I'm not touching that thing. I'm not ready to head to Starclan yet." She half chuckled, half meowed. Whiskers twitching in slight amusement, she headed forward, assuming he wouldn't actually have a plan to kill it.
Splashpaw pondered for a moment. "Whitewater river?" He meowed. He figured it was a little dangerous, with all the predators in the water, but it wouldn't be as scary as the Jaguar Border. Maybe they could even try their paws at catching some cat fish! Excitement grew in his belly the more he thought about it. He could only hope Lynxpaw wouldn't be too scared; He would never admit he was too scared to go by himself. He hid his thoughts with a curious twitch of his whiskers, already turning his paws in the direction of the eastern border. "We can hunt on the way as well." He suggested as hints of prey flooded each of his senses.

She touched her nose to his with a bit more of a smile lighting her expression, the sadness still tainted her gaze but the slight sparkle of affection still glittered there, even if it was added with the sadness ,asking her heart ache. She nestled closer to him, curling up into a ball at his flank with a heft sigh. Her swollen stomach shuddering a little with the kicks of the kits inside, and she watched it for a moment in silence. Enjoying the warmth of her mate against her side, but she found herself struggling with everything which was building up on her shoulders. “I love you. Tigerblaze.” She said quietly, though the honesty laced her tone of voice as she cuddled close to him. “I couldnt ask for a better mate, just wished I was able to be a more suitable one for you.” ————————————————————————————
For a moment the handsome tom seemed to contemplate it, as usual the concern for his clanmates overtook near every instinct which might have driven him to do otherwise. He paused watching Hollowstar slink away from where he remained stationary. If I could just hook it on a claw, I could manage, he thought to himself though had enough common sense to not say it aloud. But he gave up, pursuing the leader at a silent trot. Long tail flicking from side to side.

Lynxpaw smilled and nodded, following after Splashpaw quickly. Her pelt itched with the excitement of huntinr. "Whitewater river sounds good to me," she meowed, the smell of prey causing her mouth to water. She was starving, and the thought of a quick bite of food was tempting.

Tigerblaze laid in that spot with his eyes closed, and felt he could live in that moment for eternity and be the happiest cat alive. "I love you, too." He responded, moving on his side to nuzzle his mate. "No other she-cat could even come close to being a more suitable mate than you." He reassured her. He couldn't blame her for her insecurities. It had come as a huge shock to the whole clan when he took Halfrose as a mate, as they all knew how Hollowstar would react. Everyone thought Tigerblaze would be the deputy, and Hollowstar had been extremely disappointed in him when she found out. All those worries were gone, and he was only reassured more every time he looked at Halfrose's swollen belly full of kits.
Hollowstar looked back and saw the tom hesitate, but eventually end up following. She knew he wasn't dumb enough to try that. Only kits who don't know better would try and take on a poison dart frog. Those were the deadliest animals in their territory, moreso than Jaguars or Piranhas combined. They even gave Hollowstar a chill up her spine. No herb would help any cat who touched one. "We're almost there." She mewed, scenting the two-leg stench up ahead. Thankfully, she hadn't detected any dog scent, but she still wanted to get a closer look. If any two-legs had crossed the border, she wouldn't know what to do.
Splashpaw gave a bounce of excitement. "Okay! Let's go!" He raced off, assuming she would be following him at a similar pace. His legs stretched as he ran through the familiar territory, skillfully avoiding tree trunks and large shrubs. The river was all the way at the border, but he wanted to get there as soon as possible. He made sure to glance at the ground as he ran, making sure there were no dangerous frogs or snakes in his path. But he seemed to be lucky as he saw none all the way until he reached the river. As he approached the bank, he heard a faint hissing. "Woah!" He meowed, sidestepping as he saw a large snake of some kind slither into the bush away from him. He wasn't sure what kind it was, as he'd never been taught what the different kinds look like. He unsheathed his claws in case it wanted to come back. "Careful." He meowed, half to himself, and half to his den mate.

Lynxpaw could feel her heart rate quicken at the sight of the large snake, and her ears flattened against her head. When Splashpaw told her to be careful, she nodded quietly, eyes narrowed and claws unsheathed. Her pelt bristled slightly, and her tail tip lashed to and fro as she watched, and waited. Surely Splashpaw would sense a clear coast soon, right?
