I think all those factors are what made him go so crazy later in his life. I think the curse to see the inevitable and dead was the biggest factor as he had to live with all this knowledge, but was not able to help anyone with it (making the power pretty pointless). After reading Goosefeather's curse, I knew why Goosefeather was so crazy all his life and never looked at him the same way again.

My heart broke for him. I understand what he was going through. (I get glimpses of the future through dreams.)
I also think that the reason why she was pushing him so much was because of how old she is. She was described in the allegiances as very old and we know that GC took place nine years after MV. She was likely worried about the Clan being left without a medicine cat again and she knew that she didn't have a whole lot of time left. She had to rush his training because of that. (However, I do find it kind of strange how they didn't find a single apprentice over the course of nine years. Of course, she might have trained another apprentice and they died.)

Good point, I was wondering. I mean, usually an apprentice has to have something special StarClan wise, I think?

That's part of the reason why I am so nervous for Puddlekit. We have no clue whether or not he is meant to be medicine cat.

He was seen talking to himself in Bluestar's Prophecy...but...in GC we learn that he could see and talk to dead StarClan cats all around the ThunderClan camp. So whose to say those times he's seen "muttering to himself" we him talking to them? He was also able to touch a kit and see their future and randomly see the future and the past. So the supposed battle he thought WindClan would do might not have been the battle he had Pinestar and the others prepare for but a battle that was to happen in the future.

I never understood what's so special about Goosefeather getting his full name and becoming an apprentice earlier. So what if he had powers? Jayfeather had to wait, and he's more powerful than Goosefeather. Lionblaze, too. Putting someone early for work who should still be by their mother's belly is a lot of pressure and it doesn't even give them enough time to grow up their own personality. It only just gives them more stress and an overwhelming life. Dovewing is a good example for this. Because she was forced to grow up fast, she's immature, and you can tell that she was stressed from the start when Jayfeather and Lionblaze forced her to accept the prophecy. Goosefeather and Dovewing are exactly the same, and I feel sorry for them. No one should be forced to grow up fast.
Dovewing had no choice, because of the prophecy. But Goosefeather did, and Cloudberry should have waited until he became older. Having powers should not be used an excuse. Even Dovewing once asked if they are going to be warriors before the prophecy is fulfilled.

I think it was more of a case of the current medicine cat was very old and on death's doorstep and needed an apprentice. Otherwise, I think they would have waited.

I don't mean crazy as in hallucinating. I mean crazy in the sense that Bluestar was crazy. He was under constant stress of his future visions and that caused him to act paranoid. It's like that episode of MLP:FIM where Twilight saw herself from the future and stressed about it until it came true. This caused Goosefeather to neglect his medicine cat duties and even his own personal hygiene.

I think he was more paranoid, though.
