A strange pair of apprentices join the clan. They say that ran away from HollyClan but refuse to tell more. Mossfur is suspicious since they were found by the border where Branchlight was exiled but Leafstar allows them to join to add to the population.

(Rowanspirit got to be leader and had several kits. Angelwing and Squirrelheart were loving fathers and had many adopted kits, they’ve been plenty happy. Especially in their first reincarnation.br]The only cat that’s never actually had any happiness is Mooseleaf.)

(There are seven Clans.
Originally they were these five: AppleClan, HollyClan (Psuedo ShadowClan) IvyClan (Psuedo WindClan) MintClan (Psuedo RiverClan.)
OakClan (Psuedo SkyClan.) combined with AppleClan for a long time after many battles had wiped out AppleClan’s number.
Then arrival to the new territories, and OakClan decided to split with the children of Songstar becoming leaders of AppleClan and the newly reformed OakClan.
CherryClan is a Clan originally made up of rogues that is just kinda here, so there’s not as bad rogue attacks.)

(As for the reincarnated cats, they’re actually not very old, at least for Rowanspirit. She was actually leader in her actual life and had lots of her own.
She was also the adopted kit of Angelwing and Squirrelheart’s first reincarnations.
She had a nice legacy and a good life other than her children and grandchildren either not having kits during her lifetime or dying.
As for Angelwing, Squirrelheart. And Squirrelheart’s brother, Mooseleaf. This is their second reincarnation.
Their actual lives ended pretty tragically with Mooseleaf dying earlier than expected, either Angelwing or Squirrelheart accidentally getting poisoned because of an incompetent apprentice. (Who was also reincarnated the first time but she died early on so it never really went anywhere.)
Their first reincarnation went well for them, as they had adopted several kits and led nice lives together. Squirrelheart was even deputy like he is now.
As for Mooseleaf...
He’s just kinda there, and gets revived by proxy.
Like he’s never actually had a mate in any lives nor was he given any positions.
He’s also usually the first one dead.
Also the reincarnations don’t function like actual reincarnations in the usual sense.
By now, they just kind of act like how their first lives were, so they’re essentially the same cat as their actual life in both appearance and personality.)

Dapplestep is suspicious that the strange apprentices were to blame for her brother's death. She spreads her suspicious around the clan leading Leafstar to step in. She vouches for the two as loyal clanmates. To appease Dapplestep though, she lets Mooseleaf lead a patrol to try and find Oakclaw's killer. He takes Dapplestep, Mossfur, and Goldenpaw out of the territory to investigate.

The golden-brown tom steps down from his deputy position to be a queen to these kits as Angelwing had been one in their previous lives. The patrol returns without Mooseleaf. They report that they had been ambushed by rogues. To everyone's shock, they also report sightings of Branchlight during the ambush. Apparently the exile had joined the rogues and became their leader. Mooseleaf got separated during the fight and they assume he was captured by the rogues.

A few days later, a large group of rogues attack the clan, led by Branchlight. Fogpaw is seen fighting with them. The battle is intense. Swoopflight ends up dying and Sunstreak gets heavily injured. Branchlight and another rogue corners Leafstar, taking away her last life.
Halfway through the battle though, Mooseleaf arrives along with the rest of the missing cats. Poolpaw kills his brother Fogpaw. Mooseleaf kills Branchlight. With their leader dead, the remaining rogues scatter and flee.
It is revealed that the two apprentices were originally sent as spies. They led their mentors into an ambush. However, Poolpaw genuinely felt loyal to the clan and let Mooseleaf and the others escape.
As agreed upon, Squirrelheart reluctantly becomes Squirrelstar despite still raising his adopted kits.

Owltalon gets his tail caught in a fox trap. While out gathering herbs, Stormpaw is the first to discover this. He chews off half of Owltalon's tail. It is messy but his quick action saved the warrior from a nasty infection. Because of this, Patchfur gives him his full name.

(If Angelwing has a death wish, I have no problem granting it.  You had your throat ripped out by a badger and was healed to a degree that said previous work can kill you.) Due to the reincarnations and death-experiences throughout this life. Squirrelstar only has a few meager lives left. He is content with this given he has had far more chances than most. He has also been content with this life and the last despite the perils. He refuses to tell the Clan, not even Angelwing, but instead mentions it to his brother, who hopefully may be fully granted all nine lives.
