Thrushwing sheltered beneath a large maple tree from the ongoing storm. Her mottled gray pelt being buffeted by the raindrops that escaped from the breaks in the dense leaves of the tree. She agitatedly lashed her tail and wondered if her apprentice, Dustpaw, was safely inside camp, avoiding the storm.

With a slight sense of wariness, Dustpaw found herself making her way out of camp. She wasn't the biggest fan of the rain, but she knew that no one would be out trying to spot her due to it, so she took the opportunity to explore and decided to brave the storm. She dodged the falling rain as she leaped and slid beneath bushes, logs, or anything appropriately sized for her body to fit under. She figured she could use this opportunity to find a frog to agitate, as they would all be out due to the rain.To her luck she found one, and she keenly watched it, waiting for the perfect time to pounce. Just as she was ready to leap, she noticed something, someone, in the corner of her eye. She saw Thrushwing's familiar figure, and knew she was soon to be in trouble.

"I'm here and I'm open!) Silverpaw closed his eyes, thinking about hunting in a green forest, teeming with prey. He daydreamed a lot, getting him in a lot of trouble often. He was content, and opened his eyes again and laid down in his nest. He felt lazy, but perked his ears for an opportunity to hunt or battle train. He listened to the sounds of the rain, pounding outside. he felt warm and safe, despite the cold weather and the sounds.

"What is that you're playing with there, Dustpaw?" Thrushwing called, bounding up to her apprentice lightly. She never found it easy to confront any cat, and she had never had a responsibility such as an apprentice before Dustpaw entered her life. Finding her apprentice out of camp unaccompanied wasn't her favorite sight in the world, but she bottled her emotions and spoke softly.

Dustpaw quickly batted the small frog to the side and looked up at her mentor, a slight grin crossing her face. "I'm not sure what you're talking about.." Dustpaw chuckled quietly, her eyes wandering to anywhere but Thrushwing's face. She sat up taller than previously, and spoke, "Are you going to make me go back to camp? It was just starting to get fun out here." she said with an irritated tone, and a now sopping wet pelt.

Silverpaw sat up, and bounded out of camp, passing Dustpaw and Thrushwing. He made it to a place where he liked to hunt. He then scented a mouse. He instinctively crouched and stalked towards the scent. When he caught sight of the mouse, his mouth almost watered. he crept closer, and pounced. He had trained for a while, so he caught it, just as he intended to. He knew a storm was coming and he was alone, but he had to hunt. He dashed towards camp, avoiding Thrushwing and Dustpaw. He quickly put his mouse with the other prey, and went back to the Apprentice's den. He grew bored, and itched to talk with another apprentice. He searched camp, wondering if an apprentice was free to make conversation with.

Smallpaw was keeping herself well in camp because of the coming storm. She was tiny and easily lost during nice weather, much less what seemed to be a coming storm. She was settled under a bush, waiting for it to hit, wanting to see the first rain before it got too bad. Noticing Silverpaw, she bounced over to the older grey apprentice, eyes glancing up at the sky a little nervously. "Hello Silverpaw." She greeted softly, gold eyes glancing at the tom's face calmly. "Have you by any chance seen Deerleg? Him and I haven't gone out today, but from the looks of the sky, we might not be able to anytime soon." Her voice was sad, and a bit annoyed. It seemed like forever since she'd done any training. How was she going to become a warrior at this rate.

Daisypaw and Goldenstrike sat by the medicine den, sharing a vole together. Their long pelts were slicked to their sides; Daisypawβs was even curling up at the ends. However, they rather enjoyed the weather, and were glad to spend a little time together. Daisypaw was talking about the only time she caught a mouse when Whisperwing showed her how to hunt, and Goldenstrike listened contently.

Jasminefoot pushed a clump of nettles back up against the nursery walls, repairing the den's natural reinforcements. Her belly swung below her dainty frame, making the she-cat strain to even stand. Suddenly, an enormous, sharp pain stung her. Her legs collapsed underneath her and she crumbled to the ground with a hiss. "Nnghh...ahhh..!!" she yowled, tail fluffed up and lashing behind her. The silver queen felt like her insides were being pulled and torn far past their capabilities. Her kits! It must be the kits! "M...medic..!!"

Thrushwing felt herself shying away from Dustpaw as she shifted her posture. "Uh, the frog." she mewed sheepishly, she wasn't sure if she wanted to assert herself, or if she wanted to be passive and let it slide. Fat drops of rains ere steadily soaking her pelt, agitating her more and more. "We should get back to camp, the storm is going to get bad soon, and I don't want to be worrying about you out here alone." She flicked her tail back towards camp. Her anxiety rose as she continued speaking, she was steadily overthinking chastising her apprentice even in the slightest and she hoped Dustpaw wouldn't take advantage of her awkwardness.

Daisypaw pricked her ears at the cry, looking right at the nursery. βJasminefoot!β she exclaimed, jumping to her paws. βI think sheβs kitting!β She glanced down at the unfinished vole. βUh, you can have the rest of it,β she muttered, then went into the medicine den, grabbing chervil and raspberry leaves. Daisypaw then hurried to the nursery and poked her head in. βIs it the kits?β she asked, dropping the herbs.

Dustpaw rolled her eyes at Thrushwing, but realized that there was not much she could do. "I guess, whatever you say Thrushwing." Dustpaw mumbled, trying her very best to look disappointed. Just as she had decided to retort, a large bolt of lightning ripped through the sky, causing Dustpaw's amber eyes to peel open in shock. She quickly pressed her body up against Thrushwings larger frame and shakily spoke, "I think I'm ready to go, now, actually." She gulped.

Jasminefoot groaned through gritted teeth, the pain unlike anything she'd experienced before. Glancing up at a tiny figure looming over her, she looked up at Daisypaw with wide, worried eyes. "Kits...kits coming!" she panted, flank rising and falling unevenly as she struggled against the pain.

Thrushwing cowered at the bolt of lightning before rolling her eyes at Dustpaw. "Uh-huh, I'm sure you are." she flicked the apprentice on the ear scoldingly with her tail before leaping towards camp.

Daisypaw scrambled to pick up the herbs, then brought them to Jasminefoot and set them in front of her. βEat the spiky leaves for now,β she said, rather unconfidently. βThe other ones are more for bleeding...β She was trying her hardest not to look afraid; she had never done a kitting before! But it wasnβt too hard, was it? As long as no one died. Yeah. She nestled down next to the queen, then hissed lightly in frustration. βI forgot a stick!β

Upon entering camp, Dustpaw's ears were quickly flooded with the sound of a high pitched wail. She quickly turned to Thrushwing. "Is it Jasminefoot? Is she kitting?" She asked urgently, and bounded toward the sound of the cries. Upon arrival she spotted Daisypaw and Jasminefoot, and as she had expected, Jasminefoot was most definitely kitting.

DIayspaw swiveled her head to Dustpaws arrival. Thank StarClan! βDustpaw!β she called. βCan you get a stick she can bite on?β Without waiting for the other apprentice, she looked at Jasminefoot and placed a paw on her belly. She could feel them kicking, wanting to be out. But how exactly was she supposed to know when they were coming? βUh... just hang in there,β she said gently.

Jasminefoot picked up the prickly leaves and began to chew, but soon hacked as she accidentally choked on one. Her breathing was very unsteady and shallow and, while trying to eat at the same time, became a bit hard to do. "Pain....pain ist...terrible pain," she wheezed, another contraction shaking her delicate body. Her body shivered among the moss, as the queen's eyes began to roll back into her head--the pain was beginning to make her pass out.

Whisperwing heard the commotion in the nursery from her den and she came running. "Oh! They are coming...how wonderful!" She mewed, trying to stay positive despite the unfortunate weather that was muddying up the camp. "How are you feeling?" She asked, noticing that her apprentice had already gotten the proper herbs. "Good job, Daisypaw." She whispered with a smile. When Jasminefoot began choking she helped her swallow the leaves, licking her between the ears comfortingly. "Slowly now, we are in no rush! It will all be alright," She mewed as she worked, making sure the kits were all in the right position to be born.

Dustpaw gulped, her eyes flicking back and forth, and she darted into the camp she to find a stick. She grabbed the first one she spotted and dashed back to help Daisypaw, nervousness seeping out of her skin. "I..I..is there anything else you need?" Dustpaw stammered, watching the kits still within Jasminefoot's swollen belly squirm.

(Sorry forgot to respond!) Stormshadow quickly dropped his catch in the fresh pile and noticed Shadowfrost pick up a rabbit, and he assumed she meant for them to share it. Licking his whiskers, he bounded after her and shook the rain out of his pelt before joining her under the large room that sheltered them from the storm. βMm i canβt wait to tear into that rabbit. Iβm famished!β He exclaimed, settling in next to her for warmth as their proximity slowly dried his fur. Shadowfrost purred and pressed close to Stormshadow. His warmth was nice on her side. She took a small bite of the rabbit, the taste of it flooded her mouth.
