Hornetstrike nodded in reply. "Of course." She meowed, feeling satisfied once again at having an authoritative duty to fulfill. She may not know everything about raising kits, but she knew that the queen would need her sustenance. Turning her head back to look at the nursery, she wondered if Stonefall had already brought her some fresh kill, and padded over to see. Pushing the front half of her body through the roots of the tree, she took in the pair and their newborn kits as Cloudblossom ate the prey Stonefall had brought to her. All was well. "They are beautiful kits," She meowed.

Stonefall watched as she ate her fill and when she was done he began to eat the remains. As he was eating he heard her mew about not being strong enough and he quickly perked up and faced her. "Don't you dare blame yourself. This is all my fault", his meow was solemn and he hung his head. "If I hadn't taken you out of camp this never would have happened. I was not strong enough to protect you. I have failed you and I am sorry for that." The tom couldn't even bring himself to look his mate in the eyes. He felt like a terrible mate, why did she ever choose him. The dark grey tom was quickly tore from his guilt and disappointment when he heard Hornetstrikes voice at the entrance. "Thank you", he responded. It seemed as if she had taken up a leader-like role in the absence of the leader and deputy. The senior warrior did not disapprove he was just unsure of her capability to run a clan at such a young age.
OOC: is everyone about ready for the time skip? Scorchkit and Fernkit will also be ready to be apprenticed. So is anyone willing to be mentors? Silverscale can be Fernkit mentor if no one else wants it. Also please everyone who might be wanting their cat to be deputy please say so, so whomever is chosen as clan leader knows who to choose from.

Hornetstrike nodded, now satisfied. It was clear that the mates were having a personal moment, so she slipped out from the den and then returned to her nest in the medicine den. It had been a series of exhausting events for everyone involved, as she could tell by the looks on her clanmate's faces, but she simply felt invigorated. Guiding her fellow warriors was a feeling she could get used to... very used to. And the more she rested for the moment, the better she would perform the next day filling in for leadership. Maybe Starclan would see how well she fit as a leader then, and give her the authority she felt she deserved.

TIME SKIP 1 Moon
------------------------------------------
Being perched on top his den laying sprawled out on the warm flat rock Spidereye was just simply enjoying his evening. A strong icy breeze ruffled his spikey black pelt and chilled the camp as it swept through the small hollow taking the surrounding trees browning leaves with it. A moon had passed since the Battle of the Bear, or so that's what it was being called by the clan, and the clan was barley getting by. Many fights had occurred between clan mates, everyones tensions were high and everyone seemed to be stressed out and on high alert. The black tom was thankful to currently not have any patients to care for, and his graduated apprentice Blushingrose was sent to retrieve some fresh herbs to be stored away for the upcoming leaf bare. As Spidereye lay on his rock, eyes closed, letting his black pelt absorb the last remaining rays of light a buzz began to sound above his head. Flattening his ears the tom opened one eye and managed to catch sight of a hornet circling above him. Growling grumpily the black cat waved his tail around trying to shoo away the pesky insect. The hornet only came closer buzzing loudly in his ears. Not wishing to pick a fight with it the medicine cat quickly rose to his paws and leaps down from his perch into the ground. As he was looking for a new spot to relax at he suddenly felt a sharp sting on his flank causing him to flinch. Hissing he whipped his head around to see the hornet attacked to his flank stinging him without mercy. Roughly shaking his pelt as if he was trying to shake water from his pelt the tom managed to dislodge the insect and angrily batted at it trying to kill it. The hornet, instead of escaping towards its nest in the trees headed directly into the sky. The medicine cats yellow eyes carefully watched it until he was straining so hard he couldn't see it any longer. Oddly the tom was left starring directly at the first star of the coming night sky. After a still moment the toms yellow eyes widened and his jaws parted open. He had just received a sign from Starclan! It couldn't have been any clearer for the experience medicine cat. Starclan had finally revealed to him who would be the next leader of Creekclan.
------------------------------------------
Stonefall led the way into camp, the head of the dusk patrol. The group he had assembled were quick to finish their patrol due to the fact that their borders were safe and there was no sign of any sort of threats. On the way back he allowed the patrol to hunt and the dark grey marbled tom had managed to catch a nice plump grey squirrel. Now that they were back in the camp the senior warrior waved his tail in dismissal of the group and headed straight for the tangled roots of the old fallen oak tree that surround the nursery. It had been one moon since his mate had given birth to four tiny kits and thanks to Spidereye and Blushingroses tedious work and dedication all kits had survived their premature birthing. The tom was a proud father of six kits, two of which would soon start their training to become warriors.
------------------------------------------
Silverscale had left camp around sunhigh wishing to escape the stresses of her clanmates. The forest had brought her peace and relaxation but it was about time that she returned. Rising from her resting spot next to the creek she slowly waded into the waters and once her paws no longer touched the rocky creek bed she began to strongly swim across to the other side. There was no longer any signs of her being in the Battle of the Bear, her once bruised and battered body had fully healed leaving only scars on her pelt from where the bears claws had sliced into her. pulling herself out of the icy mountain water, her blue eyes glowing with exhilaration from the swim, she began to shake the water from her pelt. The water fell off her fur like water off a ducks back and splattered onto the ground. Her thick silver and black dappled coat easily repelled water due to her oily fish diet. Now on the right side of the creek the warrior decided that it would be a good idea to hunt, so that she would not return to camp empty-pawed.
OOC; Sorry Storm, I wanted to as well but I felt it would be weird for only Scorchkit to have met the new kits yanno.

Hornetstrike guarded outside the southern warrior's den, sitting upright and watching the activity around camp. Now that she was fully healed, she made it a habit of patroling around camp to note all that went on, but things were settling down with the sun and she felt at peace. She was happy to see that the dusk patrol made their way back into camp and she flicked her tail in greeting toward Stonefall. She assumed that the shorter time they had spent out checking the borders was a good sign. She glanced toward the leader's den and thought about how warm the rocks must be to sleep on top of in the sunlight... Well, time would hopefully tell on that. She turned her focus back on the activity around camp. Now that evening would soon be upon them, she decided to have Silverscale and Redclaw guard camp, knowing she could trust them to watch over their home while the other cats slept.
Archback lingered just inside the leader's den, now noting the fading of his mate's scent in the den as he watched the sun dip down in the sky. He missed Owlstar dearly, but he felt happy to be further away from the Battle of the Bear, and now their territory had seemed to be faring safer since the fox had been last seen on their territory. He liked to hope that Owlstar was taking care of them from Starclan and keeping them from further harm.
Chivekit, now a moon old and grown despite the circumstances, although she was still very small, bounded into the nursery with a leaf in her jaws, her tail held high, and she brought it to Cloudblossom where she set it down. "I caught prey!" She mewed. She had made it a habit of stalking and catching many little things to deliver to her mother. "You have to have it, because queens and elders eat first!" She purred, echoing what she had heard from the warriors around her.

Ivypaw had just returned to camp from her assignment and looked around for her father Archback. Not seeing him anywhere she trotted over to the southern warriors den and sniffed around. His scent wasn't there at all so she didn't call out for him not wanting to wake any sleeping warriors. Turning around she headed for the other side of camp. She was going to check out the northern warriors den but her eyes caught sight of her mother's old den and she had an inkling that that's where her father was. She knew he was having a hard time letting her go and the stout apprentice sighed. Allowing her steps to take her directly to the clan leaders den she stopped at the mouth of the entrance. "Archback?", She called out tentatively.
----------
He had to tell the clan... But how? Spidereye had never addressed the clan before. He had always brought things to Owlstar and she would address the clan. Owlstar, sadly, was no longer here and it was up to him to deliver the message to the clan. The whole clan had to be present though, this was something that no one would want to miss. The black tom then took to walking around the camp curious as to if everyone was present. Part of him thought about going and telling the soon to be clan leader that they had been chosen by Starclan, but he decided against it thinking it would be best if this was the first time they heard of it so the clan didn't think that they had been conspiring in secret.
----------
Having caught a mouse and a thrush the silver and black dappled warrior changed direction so she would head towards Creekclans camp. Silverscale felt much better about returning home with a mouth full of prey. She hated how everything was so disorganized and everyone was struggling with something. Hornetstrike was doing a pretty good job about keep the clan together but there were still some cats who would fight against things. The silver warrior had set her alliance with Hornetstrike feeling as if she was doing good job trying to keep the clan in one piece. As she padded into camp Silverscale found herself approaching the mentioned warrior and she waved her tail in a greeting. Stopping once she reached her she dropped her prey to speak. "The prey is running strong on the other side of the creek. It would be a good idea to send a hunting that way tomorrow", she reported to Hornetstrike.

Sorrelkit laid curled up tightly against her mother's soft belly. One wouldn't even know she was there she blended in so well with her grey and ginger patched pelt. Her amber eyes flicked open when she heard her sisters excited mew on catching a leaf as prey for their mother. Not moving the tiny kit just watched, perfectly content where she was at, cozy and cuddled up with her mother.
----------
As Stonefall approached the nursery he was suddenly bombarded by a fluffy ginger fall of fur that came flying out of the roots of the old oak tree and slamming into him. It was Scorchkit, his eldest son, and the young tom was doing everything he could to knock him to the ground. Giving in Stonefall allowed the kit to knock him to the ground and he rolled onto his back meekly batting at his kit. "Prey stealer! You dirty rouge, that is a Creekclan squirrel! You hand it over or I will have to shred your pelt", Scorchkit had put on a fierce face and his fur was all fluffed out to make himself appear larger. "It's mine!", Growled Stonefall playfully lashing his tail. "If you want it come and get it!", He enticed as he moved to a crouch just in front of the nursery entrance. Scorchkit did not hesitate in his playfully attack and barreled into the large dark grey tom.

The young queen had only just truly recovered from her wounds the day she'd kitted, the wounds finally having entirely healed over and Cloudblossom was enjoying being able to move around freely once again. Stretching out in the nest alongside her kits with a soft yawn, she stretched out each leg one by one. Leaning down she nuzzled the kits as they too woke up, a soft chuckle coming from her lips. "Good morning, little one," she greeted Sorrelkit with a smile. More than used to her shy personality by now, she tucked the tiny kit closer to her flank. Leaning down she began to slowly groom her daughter, keeping her ears twitched towards the other two with amusement.

Sorrelkits large amber eyes looked to her mother when she began to move. The tiny shecat couldn't help but begin to purr when Cloudblossom lovingly started to groom her pelt. Soaking in the attention she closed her eyes slowly not wishing for it to stop. As she lay in the nest safe and warm, enjoying her mothers love, a noice from outside the den began to catch her attention. It sounded like fighting, her body quivered in fear and her amber eyes grew wide. "Momma what's happening? Are we under attack?", She questioned in her tiny little voice completely unaware that the quarreling cats were her father and brother play fighting over prey.

Whiskers twitching with amusement, the slender shecat continued her careful grooming of the tiny kitten at her flank. A soft purr rumbling from her chest as she worked, “Oh StarClan no,” she replied with a grin. “Badgers are much quieter than that, all that noise is Scorchkit and Stonefall,” she replied with a rumbling chuckle as the toms continued their loud ‘fight’ outside of the den. She tickled Sorrelkit between the ears with the tip of her nose in a playful manner when she had finished, “Shall we go join those mouse brains?” She offered.

Just as Sorrelkit was to answer her mother Scorchkit came racing into the den. His long dark ginger coat ruffled and messy, but his tail was up and his head held high as he approached his mother with the large plump squirrel firmly clamped in his jaws. Doing his best not to trip over his prize Scorchkit place the squirrel at his mother's paws. "For you mother. I fought off a pretty stealing rouge to get this for you", he meowed proudly, his chest puffed up. His amber eyes glowed so happy that he had won the fight and was able to present the prey to his mother.
Stonefall shook the dust from his grey pelt and followed after his kit. Entering the den behind him the tom took his place next to his mates nest and began to groom his disheveled pelt. Scorchkit had put up quite a fight and he was so proud of him. He would definitely make a fine warrior one day.

Archback's eyes lit up at the sound of Ivypaw's voice. Now that it was just him, he wanted to make it a point to care for his kits as much as possible and look after them, even though they were well in their apprenticeship. He padded out of the den and met Ivypaw with an affectionate purr. "My little warrior," He meowed. He expected that it wouldn't be much longer before she was a full warrior, which was hard to process. It felt like just a blink of an eye ago she and her siblings were still playing in the nursery. "How was training?" He asked.
----------
Hornetstrike flicked her tail in greeting to Silverscale, noting all the plump prey that the she-cat had brought back with appreciation. "Thank you, Silverscale. I'll have tomorrow's hunting patrols head that way." She meowed, dipping her head in appreciation. She turned her gaze toward the further setting sun. "I would like you and Redclaw to guard camp tonight," She added, but the thought occurred to her that the warrior had been out hunting for a while. "...Unless you are tired, then I don't mind finding someone else."
----------
Chivekit ducked behind Cloudblossom as Scorchkit came charging into the nursery with the large squirrel in his jaws, watching from behind their mother with wide eyes. As soon as the older kit presented the prey to Cloudblossom, she couldn't help but feel jealous. "You caught that?" She demanded incredulously from behind her hiding place. She decided firmly that she needed to step up her game if she wanted to become a warrior and make her mother and father proud, just like Scorchkit and Fernkit did.

"No you didn't!" Was Jackdawkit's especially incredulous tone of voice, his tiny tail flicking from side to side as he skidded to a stop beside his brother, who was near enough three times the size of the dark grey tom. Sniffing at the prey curiously, he and his sisters were still dependent on their mother's milk, and their noses hadn't quite become acclimated to the different scents of the world around them. But he had enough common sense about him to think his brother wasn't talented enough to catch as much as a mouse let alone a squirrel. Yet on seeing his father enter, Jackdawkit lunged to meet his father, greeting him with a touch of the nose to his, excited to see the warrior whom the little tom idolised.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cloudblossom purred in amusement as her eldest son approach, lowering her nose to adoringly nuzzle the little tom between the ears in greeting. A purr rumbled from her chest with delight, "Good catch little one," she exclaimed, though her eyes were brightened with amusement. She looked back to Chivekit with a soft grin, lowering her nose to tickle the shecat between the ears. "Shh," she scolded the kit.

Chivekit's jealous energy softened at Cloudblossom's chiding, and she purred quietly at the attention. Still, she couldn't help but complain. "He's hardly bigger than that," She mewed, pointing her nose toward the prey. She was genuinely curious as to how he could have caught the squirrel - she wanted to try too. Maybe with a mouse, since they seemed smaller and could be small enough for her to even catch, if she tried hard enough.

Playfully teasing her daughter with her long, feathered tail the queen let out a chuckle. "Hey!" She scolded but the smile lighting her face was enough to give away the fact that there was no true annoyance to her tone of voice. "I'm not all that big and I manage to hunt squirrels well enough," the grin still covered her expression. Eyes filled with adoration for her six kits, even if they could be a pain in her tail on occasion. "Are you trying to call me a poor hunter?" She challenged, whiskers twitching with amusement and her voice lightened with laughter.

Chivekit's eyes widened. She had never thought of Cloudblossom as a hunter, and to her, her mother always seemed plenty big, even if she wasn't as big as their father. "No!" She mewed, immediately in defense of her mother's abilities, but then she added with a tilt of her head as she leaned into Cloudblossom's soft pelt, "But you don't hunt, you're mother." She reasoned decidedly. She liked Cloudblossom doing what she knew she did: taking care of her and her siblings. Even though she knew she-cats were also warriors and wanted to be one herself, she wasn't aware that her mother was one too.

(and with that, vc melted my heart XD)
Grinning at the little kitten's reaction, she nestled her daughter with a soft purr. Enjoying the warmth of the little shecat at her flank, she looked to their father, eyes lightened with amusement. "I had a life before you six you know," she told the kits with an amused tone. Stretching out, her legs cracking as she did before lifting herself to her paws, moving to reveal the great scores of scars torn through the fur on her neck, the ones she'd gained the day she'd kitted. "How do you think I got these? Tustling with Fernkit?"

(Sorry, I have a lot of school to work on '^^)
Chivekit took in the scars with amazement, her eyes wide. She had never thought about them, and never really let them sink in until Cloudblossom had pointed them out. "Wow! No, those look like the scars of a badger, or a no-good bear!" She mewed, never having either of those creatures, but she had heard them mentioned enough around camp to know they were a formidable enemy. "How did you get them?" She asked. Scars were very impressive, but they also gave the kit a vaguely anxious feeling. It was clear that her mother had gotten very injured at one point.

Grimacing, as the warrior didnt wish to scare her tiny and rather impressionable daughter, Cloudblossom shrugged her shoulders. Settling back into a comfortable position beside the kits, a sigh rumbled from her. “Just a fox attack little one,” she replied, grateful her kit was too young to remember the day she’d been brought back to camp, her mother and father half torn to shreds. She burrowed her nose into the kits dark fur, “but the details dont matter. What matters is that I’m ok, and I will always be here to protect you from whatever badger or no good bear that could hurt you,” she promised. Tickling Chivekit’s ears affectionately.

Chivekit purred at the affection, always happy to be the center of Cloudblossom's attention. She was grateful for the reassurances, but she had never felt too worried for herself. "I will protect you, Mother!" She mewed decidedly. She wasn't very big now, but she hoped she would be soon so she could keep her promise. She would look after her siblings too, of course. At her age, her family was just about her whole world, even though she had seen and heard the other cats around the nursery.
