"Light and dark always go paw in paw," Spiritstar spoke looking at her, "Yes light wins but with enough darkness you can smother it; which is what happened with my littermates. From there they tainted many others till darkness became alive and well. Now that peace has spread throughout the clans light can recover and blossom. I swear on my lives that I will continue to live within the light and return Skyclan to its former glory. We will not be a clan of darkness. We will follow the light and be guided by our ancestors," she spoke nodding her head. (Sounds good! Ill have to do it once I have free time! But it was a long battle and i remember a life or two was already stripped from Robin because thats what happened to Deadpath because she was pregnant when she died) "And I'll help with that." Splachecho nodded curtly to her aunt. "I don't want to see these Clans fall back into Darkness. I..." She shivered at the thought of the Clan she grew up in, Robinstar's SkyClan. "I'm thankful Rainfall got me out of SkyClan back then. What my father and Robinstar were doing..." She shook her head. "I just wish my father could've been saved, but Cliffheart didn't give him the chance." (All of Robinstar's lives are recorded on the Discussion Page. The lives we skipped were the ones listed as unknown. I'm proud to say that Northstar and Falcontalon each stripped Robinstar of a life during the Dark Battle. However, I believe Northstar lost one to Robinstar as well. They battled a long time.)

"By the time we met back up with your father and my sister they were too far gone to be saved Splashecho," Spiritstar looked at her keeping her voice calm, "Creeksplash wanted to please Robinstar by any means even if it meant killing those he loved, it didnt matter to her so why did it matter to him," she frowned, "They killed our own mother, cousins of ours, and destroyed countless lives.....but the clan will never be bathed in blood as long as I am around," she spoke nodding her head, "Im thankful to have you here as well. To still have kin within this clan," she told her.
(Yeah I think they both took each other out lol)

(Frozen and I currently have Pheasantcry and Silvercloud out, they could probably find the loner. (although I'm wondering if Frozen passed out).)
Splashecho shook her head. "I can't believe that, Spiritstar. Creeksplash loved me. If he was capable of that, then he could've been saved." She raked her claws across the rock. "But Cliffheart killed him."

Silvercloud sighed through a smile. "That's kind of you to say, Pheasantcry. I wish I believed it." She started forward again, searching for branches. "What about you? You've got to be as tough as these trees." "Good." Spiderpaw nodded curtly. He personally see to it that Firefang kept his word and without further ado, he started chewing up the last yarrow leaf to apply to Firefang's pads. "This will sting," he warned through a mouthful of yarrow. (When Pheasantcry has little backstory yet ) Pheasantcry looked at her paws for a moment. Her muzzle may be graying and her bones older, but she wasn't certain she was as tough as some other cats in the Clan. "I'm not sure about that. The worst I ever experienced was getting exiled from AdderClan." she said. "I don't want to undermine the suffering of others for my sake, at least." Oh, great, Firefang thought, bracing himself for the pain. Now he would be in pain AND stuck in the medicine cat den. He hoped it would be worth it.

(Getting exiled from AdderClan is good backstory to start with. How was she exiled?)
Silvercloud shivered. AdderClan, she couldn't believe cats like that could even exist. "If you were able to surived AdderClan for as long as you did, Pheasantcry, then I'd say you're even more resilient than these oaks."
Spiderpaw didn't say anymore as he carefully applied the herb to Firefang's pads. As snappy as his demeanor was, his touch was gentle.

Looking at her form I didn't list a reason for her to get exiled, but she fought in the battle and has a scar running down one of her ears. Maybe someone attacked her before she left?)
Pheasantcry couldn't help but shudder at her memories of AdderClan. All the death... the battle-hungry faithless cats... and even her own exile. It was not and would never be the Clan she served and loved. "It was... tough. I'm just glad it's over."
Firefang was pleasantly surprised by the lack of pain. Although, he was already in so much pain that he wasn't sure he'd feel any difference.

The sun seemed blistering, or maybe it was just the burns that made it feel as though the heat was blistering? Yeah... it was probably that. The she-cat was in pain, so much pain, her belly hanging largely beneath her, the kits due any day or even any moment. The fire... it was so bad, so very horrible. She remembered the look on her mate's face when he dragged her onto the high rocks before loosing his footing and plunging into the fire... mouthing that he loved her right before the flames engulfed him forever. She had stayed there, crying, allowing the flame to rise higher and higher until she felt the burning and it brought her comfort. Maybe she would be able to join her mate? Both the kits and her join him now and be together no matter what. But then the fire subsided and let her with only the burns and pain, both physical and emotional. She could feel pain in her belly, partly from her stress and partly because of the kits. It would happen soon... she needed to find help, now.

(If she was exiled then she must have done something to earn that exile in Robinstar's and Adderstar's eyes. Maybe she was spying for the Clans and AdderClan found out about it? They would've sentenced her to death, but she got that scar when she escaped?)
Silvercloud nodded. "Me too and I wasn't even around AdderClan until the Dark Battle." She paused when she caught a strange scent in the air. "Pheasantcry, do you smell that?"
"There." Spiderpaw nodded to himself when he finished with Firefang's pads. "Now, you just need to let the herbs do their work. Stay off your paws until at least morning." He flicked his ear a little awkwardly. "Guess this means you and I are den mates for a while."

Spiritstar tilted her head, "Robinstar told me she loved me.....and so did Creeksplash....and in the end they wanted me dead. They tried not just once but twice," she meowed looking at her, "Is that what love is Splashecho?" she asked her, "Would you have followed your fathers paw prints into the darkness? Just like Waspstrike (?)" she asked her.

"I was born into it, Spiritstar, of course I know how it feels." Splashecho looked her in the eye. "All I remember of my kithood was training in the Dark Forest alongside my brother. I wanted to make Creeksplash proud, but I was so terrified all the same and when Rainfall showed me a better way, StarClan's way. I wanted out." She shook her head and looked across the territory. "I thought if I could get out, then others could too. Everyone claimed Cliffheart made it out after doing such vile things...if he could be saved, couldn't my father have been as well?"

"Can I tell you something Splashecho...," Spiritstar trailed off her tail tip twitching as a low breath escaped her before her gaze caught her nieces, "Cliffheart....Creeksplash...and Robinstar were all tempted. First Robinstar...then Creeksplash and followed by Cliffheart. Each one promised to push themselves to prove to those in the dark that they could be strong. They wouldnt stop till they got what they wanted. Robinstar wanted leadership and power, she would kill to get what she wanted. Creeksplash wished for power and followed eagerly after Robinstar. Cliffheart wanted to be strong but he also wanted to protect his brother and sister. The darkness consumed them and before he knew it they were too far gone. Me...I was shunned and labeled the outcast because Starclan called to me...though they werent the only ones to be called. My paws have stepped within the darkness and I have felt its cold grip," she looked at Splashecho her voice having no hesitation as she spoke. Her ears pinned back against her skull, "You and Cliffheart both made it out because someone interviened and showed you a way out towards the light. For Robinstar there was no out for her, the darkness consumed her entirely and with her was Creeksplash. Your father was the one to push Cliffheart into me before I fell into the river. There is one thing I remembered before I crashed into the water below and lost my memory was that wicked smirk on Creeksplash's face, the victory in his eyes as Cliffheart screamed. The difference will always haunt me....how far my family went to destroy each other," she told her sighing softly her gaze seeming far away as she tried her best to remember her past before she lost her memory. The look on her face told a story of grief and sadness as memories played within her mind, "Your father wanted you to still follow his path did he not? Do you think for a moment he could be saved if you could see him the way I do? My own brother who I loved dearly and its sad to say I still do but he will never love me back," she frowned her far off look fading as she sighed. She rarely ever talked about this other then to Cliffheart but she needed her to understand.

(Technically, it was Creek and Cliff then Robinstar. Creek and Cliff discovered the Dark Forest first and introduced Robinstar to it.)
Splashecho grew quiet at Spiritstar's tale. She had heard the stories of what Creeksplash, Robinstar, and Cliffheart had done, but she hadn't heard it from Spiritstar, not like this. Tears trickled into her eyes at the thought of how far gone Spiritstar claimed her father to be. Perhaps, Splashecho had always known. She had seen the way her father had killed. Seen the way he had sought Robinstar's approval and seen his hatred for Cliffheart, the brother he couldn't best. "Cliffheart had been there for me when Rainfall and I made it to highstones. I resisted him at first because I knew he walked the darkness. I had even seen him in the Dark Forest from time to time, but he was kind to me and he told me about you and what SkyClan used to be. He didn't give me any reason to believe he didn't still love my father or Robinstar. He even told me he still hoped they could be saved, but then came the Dark Battle." Splashecho lifted her watery eyes to Spiritstar. "And I watched Cliffheart use those dishonorable Dark Forest moves against my father. He didn't show any mercy to Creeksplash when he killed him and that's when I knew that Cliffheart was still one of them. He lied to me and gave me false hope when I reached Highstones and he killed my father in cold blood. So, if Cliffheart had been able to feign his vileness through it all, then Creeksplash could've feigned his wickedness, but we'll never know the truth."

(Oops its been so long lol!)
"How was me killing Robinstar any different then Cliffheart killing Creeksplash? Do you think Robinstar could have been saved like your father or my brother?" Spiritstar asked her tilting her head, "Creeksplash would have killed more then you can imagine. He would have done anything to please the darkness....to please my sister," she spoke, "He would never change, not even if Starlcan came to him personally....," she frowned.

(No worries. I think I have a couple stories on the Story Page you could read as a refresher. Eaglecry's and Cliffpaw's--though, I haven't rewritten Fog of Freedom yet)
"It's different because you were chosen by StarClan," Splashecho stated stubbornly. "It was StarClan's will that you killed Robinstar, but Cliffheart only killed my father out of his own selfish desires. My father always struggled to match Cliffheart's skills, he hated how Cliffheart was better than him and when my father finally surpassed Cliffheart, Cliffheart turned around and killed him!" She shook her head. "I'm not saying my father was a saint, but he was still..." Splashecho trailed off in tears.

"He was still your father....who wanted nothing but happiness and love for you....," Spiritstar frowned, "When you went against his wishes was he happy?" she asked her shaking her head. Her tail flicked slightly, "Cliffheart wanted an end to the death and destruction that ripped through the clans. Creeksplash, Robinstar, Tinyspark, and Adderstar had to go. The leaders of the Adderclan would not stop until they were gone. Cliffheart was not picked from Starclan but he did what he could to end the darkness and if I had been in his paws I would have done the same," she meowed, "To end the darkness I would have done anything and I did," she told her.

"I don't know." Splashecho's voice cracked when she answered Spiritstar's question. "But he was the only father I had." She hadn't seen Creeksplash's reaction to her running away. She didn't know how he felt when she betrayed them. All she knew was that she had left and she hadn't seen her father again until the Dark Battle. SkyClan cats weren't allowed to leave highstones back then. They couldn't risk AdderClan catching their scent on ShadowClan's or WindClan's territory and locating them. "Why did it even have to happen? Why couldn't we have been left alone?"

"The darkness preys on our insecurities, our desires, and our fears," Spiritstar spoke looking at her letting out a soft breath moving to press her pelt against her niece, "Im so sorry Splashecho. That you had to go through this, my families curse will continue to be targeted because we have tread in the darkness," she told her sighing there was a frown on the she-cats face. Though she didnt move from Splashecho, "But we will not stop fighting for the light. For the next generation and those beyond," she looked towards the nursery with a soft look, "We will continue to protect them and show them the light," she told her, "So they wont have to suffer like we did," she told her.

"I suppose we should be grateful to Cliffheart and his friend for warning us of the fire." Splashecho sighed and looked back toward the ashen trees of the territory. She could never care for Cliffheart after what he had done, but it was thanks to him that her kits made it up the cliff to safety.
