Bublestripe, in my opinion, is a much better mate for Dovewing. I like Bumblestripe, but I disagree with this. Dovewing and Bumblestripe were never right for each other, despite them liking traits in each other. They just couldn't communicate well enough to work, and Dovewing was always comparing herself and Bumblestripe to Tigerheart/star. Mind you before AVOS I didn't think Tigerheart and Dovewing couldn't work due to a lack of trust but //shrugs// It's more like Bumblestripe was giving it his 50% in the relationship, and at least tried to make things work because he genuinely did love Dovewing. He wanted to make her happy, he worried about her understandably, he wanted to have a family with her too, like mates usually want. But Dovewing just never took their relationship seriously honestly. Well more like she just never cared for it, despite accepting Bumblestripe's feelings. At this point she was just leading him on, using him just because he was more convenient than Tigerheart, which imo is messed up. In the end, she dumps him. It's not that Bumblestripe was a bad mate, it's more like Dovewing was. I recently binged Aggressive Retsuko on netflix, and there's an interesting subplot revolving Retsuko, the main character, and a love interest she dates at some point. She was always giving the relationship her all, but in the end her love interest wasn't, and was in a way being neglectful of her even if he didn't mean too, and he was genuinely a good person. Retsuko had rose-colored lenses on and tried to excuse his behavior, but in the end, realize that the relationship just wouldn't work out. Her boss gave her some advice, and I think it was actually good advice when it comes to relationships. "If you keep giving out more than you get back in return, there won't be anything left in the end." This is why I think Bumblestripe deserves better than Dovewing, heck, Dovewing deserves better than Tigerheart, it took him forever to even start taking their relationship seriously. Took him literally dying, lol. But Bumblestripe really is a good cat, and he's heartbroken, its okay to be heartbroken, its okay to be desperate, it's okay to feel down. This is all normal. And this is why I hope he gets a mate that will give him back just as much as he's giving out. A relationship where they both work together well and equally. Which is a healthy relationship.

So Bumblestripe is seen as obsessive and clingy because he likes to be around the girl he likes, or was mates with at the time. What does that make Tigerheart? He was always hovering around the Thunderclan border looking for Dovewing, or how he persuaded Dovewing to restart their relationship in SotM? Or when he kept trying to talk to Dovewing in TFW, or all the times he just stared at her during numerous Gatherings, or when he kept bothering Dovewing again in TLH, or asking Ivypool where Dovewing was many times, as well as asking if Dovewing was with Bumblestripe in BS, or where he kept staring at her in the same book even when Dovewing refused to meet his eyes. Even in AVOS Tigerheart pulls a Crowfeather and insults his ex's clan because he didn't get the girl. Unlike Bumblestripe where Dovewing couldn't seem to tell him that she wasn't interested, she actually TOLD Tigerheart many times she wasn't interested and he kept pushing it. Yet no one calls him out for being pushy, clingy and obsessive. Bumblestripe was no more obsessive than Tigerheart, and has one instance of being overly pushy (the kit thing in AVOS) compared to Tigerheart's numerous offenses. Most of the forumers here don't even like TigerDove, including myself. Tigerheart was pretty trashy and not good for her.

I wish Dovewing was single.

This was mostly directed at people calling Bumble obsessive or clingy, yet not seeing that Tigerheart was worse. I know the forums are pretty good but other places have a bit of support for TigerDove.

I've already said my points to Maplefrost, so if you want to read them, just go look at the debate we had. Bumble was too overprotective of her and Dove didn't want that. I don't think he's right for her, I don't know why people say they're right for each other. Dove doesn't communicate with him and Bumble doesn't give her the space she needs. They aren't right for each other. Dove should've just stayed single.

Edit: if you look at my other comments you can see I don't thing Dove and Bumble are right for each other anyways, so I can agree with you that Dove should have stayed single.

Eh, to be honest, as long as several people aren't defending their character and repeating things at the same time, I don't mind. Because that honestly is a bit much for me. A minor debate like this is fine also. I've only just been getting tired about them because I feel like I can't say anything about a character without someone trying to debate with me. I guess I'm just trying to take a break? But you were fine, don't worry about it. I enjoyed reading this topic, actually.
